My roommate accidentally broke my Raphael glass, and Spencer's didn't have any Raphael left, just Leonardo and I already have Leo, so he bought me a few comic books to make up for it.

 

I got Carnage USA #3 and #4 as well as Batman Beyond Unlimited #1.

 

The original goal was to get Carnage USA #3 and #4 and Scarlet Spider #2 and #3, but they didn't have SS #2 in stock and I didn't want to get 3 without 2.

There is also a free Crossed web comic available for those who have missed this comic. It have plenty of gore and violence, so if you don't like those parts you might want to avoid reading the comic.

Randomly went to the comic book store today to see if they had the TPB forms of Carnage USA and Scarlet Spider and actually found a copy of Superior Spider-Man #1 and Morbius the Living Vampire #1.

 

Apparently I bought the last copy in the area of each issue as every other shop is sold out. I've read bad things about Morbius, but I love the character so I figured I'd give it a shot.

 

I haven't read either one yet, but I was pretty excited to snag them.

Been a long time since I've posted in this thread. Let's see: I've added The Walking Dead, volumes 5 & 6 to my collection, (so I now have all of the first 6), and 7 & 8 will be coming my way very soon.

 

Added Batman: The Court Of Owls, and Batman & Robin: Born To Kill in hardback as well. I LOVE me some hardcover trades, and both of these are fantastic. No idea what the general consensus is among the Batman faithful, but Damian's already one of my favorites.

 

Looking to add another GI Joe: A Real American Hero TPB, and Star Trek: The Next Generation: Hive to the collective as well.

Born To Kill was the first time I read anything with Damian and I love the character.

 

Then again, I love Jason Todd, so what do I know?

I'm not a Batman fanatic, though those are the comics I normally read. I love Damian. It's the usual "child prodigy" tale, but the dark side is new to me. Could prove interesting.

i really liked Cross when i first read it, but the violence and gore bit, i thought it would be worse, haven't checked out any after Garth Ennis, but my mate said Simon Spurrier is the writer and hes a top bloke as well as a good writer

 

Garth i think lost the plot doing preacher, all he seems to do now is make loads of gay jokes and make fun of religion, Preacher felt like something special but was beyond a joke in its final run

I finally finished Scalped. I read about issues 1-42 but due to lack of funds at the time I fell off thinking, "I'll get back to it one day."

 

That day came. What an amazing book. From front to back one of the best stories I've ever read in any medium. One of the things we don't always get with comic books is good long-form storytelling with a wonderful ending. Scalped gave me that. So, as a self contained story what's next? I'm thinking New Deadwardians is something I head good things about.

I just read Dark Knight Returns again. Wonderful story. I never really liked Frank Miller's "total psychopath" take on Batman but I like that story overall. It definitely lost something in the cartoon adaptation.

<p>I read Saga through like issue 8 and haven't gone back to it yet. But I plan to. It's very good. I just had school and work stuff to read so I had to get away from comics for a bit there and haven't gotten back to that particular story yet.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>I probably undersold it. If you haven't read it at all and have no idea what to expect, "Saga" should be read. It's so different and special.</p><p> </p><p>

That said, you know how expectations can be and I'm starting to hear a lot of backlash "I heard this book was supposed to be all crazy. I read it and it's jsut another out-there comic book. No big deal." So I guess it's ow you approach it. I read it when it first came out and thought it was quite frankly the most original mainstream comic book idea I've come across in a very long time.</p>

I've also been wanting to read the new TMNT book, but, once again, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I've got to be honest, can't recall the last comic/graphic novel I picked up and read but this one has really piqued up my interest. It'd be great if they brought this to the live action big screen in a future Amazing Spider-Man sequel; Peter Parker having an older sister with government connections and what-not certainly seems pretty cool.</p>

Haven't been in love with much of it since New 52. Court of Owls was a treat but I just haven't felt connected to Batman since new 52. I feel like the writers themselves don't even know what to make of the characters sometimes.

 

I liked the Court of Owls story as well. After that, however, it wasn't all that. I quit Batman & Robin after the latter supposedly died. Quit Deathstroke after a lesser story arc. Quit Suicide Squad because it's kinda weird to have so many deaths (though unique, in a way). Still reading Batgirl, though that's watering down as well imo.

 

I have been waiting...ages for Ravine vol 2 to be released. It's been paid for since, well, chistmas (maybe earlier). But the artist lost his hard drive so yeah... In the meantime I've been reading a French book called Excalibur, which tells the obvious story (starts with the father of Arthur uniting the tribes, yadda yadda). A good read, and good drawings as well.

<p>Wouldn't normally post anything about projects but my old comic is being snapped up by Avatar Press, I have never been so excited about something, its called Machine Girl and should hopefully be out next year</p><p> </p><p>

I also have the go ahead to do a Comic Convention next year, i couldn't get it this year but have it for Halloween next year in Reading, this is literally one of my best working days i have ever had</p><p> </p><p>

if anyone is based in the UK Leamington Spa is having its first convention 18th October, i think Corey Feldman is there, promoting a Lost Boys comic </p><p> </p><p>

and now i need to look up Spider Man, and find out when and why his parents came back and why he has a sister</p><p> </p><p>
