Entrance Music/Theme Songs:

Recommended Posts

What do you see/think of as the theme songs for your favorite C-Verse workers, events, TV shows, and so on?

Here’s a list of some of mine. I tend to be geared towards heavy metal for wrestling themes, because I’ve always felt that the music should be loud and/or intense to get people’s attention. There are a few obvious exceptions, though.

Nicky Champion (Heel) – “Champion” by Grinspoon

Nicky Champion (Face) – “Prices of the Universe” by Queen

Damon Oro/Enygma – “Year of the Phoenix” by Pyramaze

Jay Chord – “The One You Love to Hate” by Rob Halford

The Alliance (Nicky Champion, Damon Oro/Enygma, and Jay Chord; USPW) -“Alliance” by Samael

Tommy Cornell – “Revolution” by Judas Priest

The Syndicate – “Four Horsemen/War” By Judas Priest

Alicia Strong – “Fists Fall” by Otep

Vengeance – “Vengeance is Mine” by Alice Cooper

Edd Stone – “The Outsider” by A Perfect Circle

Danny Fonzarelli – “The Power of Love” (Frankie Goes to Hollywood Cover) By Oomph!

Christian Faith (Face) – “Eternal” by Joy Division

Christian Faith (Heel) – “Holy Martyr" by Iced Earth.

Jim Force – “Can You Feel the Force” by The Real Thing (easily the most bizarre choice, but next time you hear this song, picture Jim Force strutting out to the ring with this blaring, and try not to laugh.)

Big Smack Scott – “Lollipop Porn” by Crazy Town

Tom “Angry” Gilmore – “Angry Again” by Megadeth

I have a more complete list on my home computer (at work right now) that has my list of songs for events and TV shows; maybe I’ll post a little later.

USPW American Wrestling Theme: "Frontline" by Pillar

Funnily enough, I've always used that as a theme tune for CZCW TV shows too. It just fits the wrestling TV show vibe so well...

Also, for PSW or 4C, Violent Revolution by Kreator is a perfect TV show theme.

Some from my RIPW diary:

Frank Fernandes: Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers (He is from California after all.)

Jerry Martin: Psycho Killer by The Talking Heads (Because he is nuts.)

Rudy Velasquez: How I Could Just Kill A Man by Cypress Hill

Too Hot: Let Me Clear My Throat by DJ Kool (I was originally going to go with Too Hot Baby, if that is the name of the song, by Kool and the Gang but decided against it.)

Jebediah: Amish Paradise by Weird Al Yankovic (Was there really any other option?)

The Young Braves (Running Wolf and Roger Monteiro aka Running Bear): Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden

Leftie Wilkes: Dirty Water by The Standells (Because he is from Boston.)

Desmond McGuinness (Edward Cornell): London Calling by The Clash (Oddly enough both James Casey and I use this song for Eddie so I guess that makes it his official theme song.)

I like to think that just as the wrestling world is fictional in the C-Verse, so is the music industry. So i imagine the theme songs to be songs that haven't been written by people who don't exist :p

There are situations where I think the same thing. Anyone in the game whose profile mentions being involved with music I tend to just assume would do their own. I imagine Jack Bruce to be the type to perform his music live as a part of his entrance.

Well, can't find my full list yet, but here's another batch.

Bruce the Giant – “Godzilla” by Blue Oyster Cult

Steve Flash – “Wherever I May Roam” by Metallica (mostly due to his tendency to work for several promotions at a time.

Zeshin Mokioki – “The Real Folk Blues” by The Seatbelts w/ Mai Yamane (Don’t know why, but this song has always stuck out as fitting my internal image of him.)

Chris Caufield – “Extreme Ways” by Moby

Leper Messiah – “Leper Messiah” by Metallica (pretty obvious choice)

Magnum Kobe – “Deep Impact (DJ Krush Remix)” by Dragon Ash

Acid – “Toxicity” by System of a Down

Doug Peak – “American Psycho” by My Ruin

Eddie Peak – “Lose Control” by Drapht

Remo – “B.E.A.S.T.” by Nekromantix

Steve Frehley – “Fight” (2002 Summerslam theme song)

Is Tommy Cornell's theme not canonically Breaking the Law?

In regard to the original of Cornell, yes. I believe that's what Ryland indicated in his original e-fed character. But I don't know that its ever been indicated in any C-verse lore beyond that. Plus it could have changed since that point anyway.

Here's what I used for my old PSW diary:

Alex Braun-"Run To The Hills" Iron Maiden

Ant-Man- "War Pigs" Black Sabbath

Dead Bolt- "Blackened" Metallica

Evil Spirit- "Evil" by Mercyful Fate

Ford Gumble-"Cowboys From Hell" Pantera

Frankie Future-"Holiday In Cambodia" Dead Kennedys

JD Morgan-"Some Heads Are Gonna Roll" Judas Priest

Johnny Martin-"Tornado of Souls" Megadeth

Marshall Dillon-"The Gunslinger" Demons & Wizards

Nelson Callum-"Play With Me" Extreme

Nomad- "Troubled Dreams" Testament

Primal Rage- "Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids" Cradle of Filth

Good Ol Boys- "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynrd Skyrnd (with a cover by a black metal band for their heel turn)

Robbie Wright-"Kickstart My Heart" Motley Crue

Steel-"War Pigs" Black Sabbath

Tank Bradley-"Run To The Hills" Iron Maiden

Teddy Powell-"Two Minuites To Midnight" Iron Maiden

The Idaho Punisher-"The Punishment Due" Megadeth

The Pilgrim-"Rock of Ages" by Def Leppard

While he never made it in my diary, I also had Jim Force's theme as "Greenface" by Iced Earth. Soley for the incredibly badass line of "My warpaint the last thing my enemies see"

Greenface works better for the New Wave, though.

Also in my current game, I picture Jack Griffith using "On The Road Again" by Willie Nelson.

Also Mutant and his stable uses "The Beautiful People" by Mailyn Manson.

Irwin Gutmann used the English version of "Engel" by Rammstein, until his recent heelish persona came about and now he uses the original version.

Ron Greenhorn: a tie between no entrance music, the sound of someone dying, or fingernails on a chalkboard.

I'd just have it be the sound of a toilet flushing. :p

Oh, and Stratovarius' Soul of a Vagabond has to be SOMEBODY's entrance music. It's too entrancey not to.

Nomad would fit, the way most people (including me) write for him. "Pack on my back I wander/Over mountains, across the seas/My yearning soul keeps roaming/In the endless search for peace"

Kane or Abyss from the real world would fit perfectly.

Also too good not to be used as entrance music: Edguy - Ministry of Saints. Dat intro~! Possibly a stable by the same name, or Christian Faith even (if he wasn't so intrinsically linked to Iron Man). Possibly the now-face John Greed in JC's SWF? Only problem is, unlike Soul of a Vagabond, when the lyrics cut in it kinda stops being an awesome entrance theme and becomes a song again. ¬_¬ But the first 50 seconds...

Helloween - The Time Of The Oath would make a good entrance, too I reckon.

Oh wait... too soon? ¬_¬

In all seriousness... The Machines? Or Shoot Club. Dead or alive, CV or not, the Benoit vibe from that song is unmistakable (for those wondering, it pre-dates Benoit's WWE theme by at least four years).
