I've been trying to do a tattoo style logo for using this "feathergraphy" font and I keep failing. I'm driving myself demented Kam, any tips? I feel like the lack of space afforded by 150x150 is part of the problem.

It's really grown on me, but I think it could be even better by making the black a bit deeper, to pop the silver and blue highlights. Any chance you have a banner lying around for it?

Yes, give me a bit of time to compile things and I'll try and get something put out shortly.

You're right that the 150x150 really will prevent you from managing anything too details with that sort of calligraphic style. My best advice with calligraphy work is:

1. Illustrator is your best friend, Photoshop isn't built for this sort of stuff
   
2. Drawing Tablet, if you have one knocking about I'd recommend using it. Clean calligraphic strokes are much easier to achieve with a pen and not a mouse, sort out a hot key on your tablet which works as undo, and just keep on attempting the same stroke until you get it right.
   
3. Look online for inspiration to draw from, Erik Marinovich is one of my favourite typographic artists who is a master at calligraphy.

I think you're right, a more solid black backing gives it a cleaner look.

 

The banner that went with it is from the original version I did without the metallic shine.

This would be immensely appreciated if you could mate. I have added a little SWF logo on a couple of images but that is as far as my talent has gone. I have been dying to learn how to make original promotion logos and event logos so any extra help you can help with that would be great.
