So I have a suggestion for a logo.

In the real world there's a promotion in California called HOODSLAM, that's very successful right now. They're kinda of like the Adult Swim of wrestling: CHIKARA if instead of going kid friendly, they did a complete 180* and were totally adult orientated (their posters literally say "DON'T BRING YOUR F'N KIDS). And were run by stoners.

They're filled with characters like the Rick Scott and Scott Rick, the Stoner Brothers, Zangief, Cammy, Ken and others of a certain video game franchise, Pooh Jack (Winnie the Pooh meets New Jack...yeah), Drugz Bunny, Bat-Shelly (Shelly Martinez aka Ariel of WWECW fame and Salinas, former member of LAX in TNA) and a whole other host of wacky, crazy, hilarious characters unlike anything else in wrestling right now.

During the intermission it's not uncommon for a Freak show to do an act and all theme music during the show is played by a live band. Going to a HOODSLAM show is more like going to a Punk Rock show in some aspects than a wrestling event.

Anyway, regardless, there's absolutely no promotion like that in the C-Verse, but often I play my own version of it in private games. I don't have a great name for, but I go with THC Wrestling and based it out of Seattle (another 420 friendly location).

I fill it with characters like Burt Laramee, King of Sesame Street (of course a parody of Kurt Laramee), Bryan Fury (played by Jerry Martin), Devil Jin (played by Kirt Jameson), Phoenix CDXX (a 420 homage to the famous Trios Phoenix down in Mexico), Weapon sXe (played by the Architect) [A biological weapon created by the federal government specifically to destroy THC Wrestling], Spike Sylvian Demon Hunter, and so on and so forth.

Anyway, you get the picture.

So, on the basis that there's no logo around for a promotion anything like that, not even on the forums, I think that's a decent suggestion. Whereas for your run of the mill hardcore promotion or something, there's several. This way we plug a hole sorta speak.

If you were to make it, call it whatever you like: It's more important to capture the vibe I've described above than the actual name I mentioned.

Maverick Wrestling Experience

Basically more so than being unique because of its product this company is born out of a growing dislike for what I came to view as a crutch I used when playing as a small company: Having non-aggression pacts or working agreements with other companies, loaning guys from an alliance etc. Basically not having to rely on my own workers and booking.

So this is a company that is all about being fiercely independent, not forming any alliances or working agreements, probably a Southern promotion (because of the Maverick name), and preferably having a miserable owner, who goes to war with other companies on a whim. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> It's about a dirtier, grittier presentation of wrestling than all the other pretty COTT indies, plausibly caused by denying any and all outside help, and doing everything "our own way". "You want something done right, you gotta do it yourself".

A set of logos/banners for the old 77 cverse promo Harlem Wrestling Association.

I'd love to bring them back for a new run.

I of course added 30+ companies for the cverse in my XL mod. If you're looking for companies that have a tiny bit of history and identity you could do worse than make some of those come to life with your work.

Nuts. Well then I may try and make a GiMP version alternative..

The instructions may be a bit easier to follow with Photoshop, sorry about that. The real basics you need to do are change the text and font size in the two layers to whatever you want, move them around to fit, and then save it as a jpg file in size 150 pixels by 150 pixels.

GiMP is also terrible at resizing images while keeping their detail. I'll make the GiMP version 150x150 to begin with.

Thought about this, and realised you might be able to save yourself a lot of time by offering people a basic template that they can change themselves. For example:

Create your Own Logo - Template

https://anonfiles.com/file/80c168564b7cc65f9d07512bd447cbee

This is a Template file, inside you will find the PSD file, some instructions on how to edit the graphics and save the logo file correctly, and a font file that you'll need to install.

This is currently what the design looks like, there are two versions. Red and Blue:

http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss39/Kamchatka863/TEW2013/TEWTemplate1.jpghttp://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss39/Kamchatka863/TEW2013/TEWTemplate2.jpg

All someone needs to do is follow the instructions and change the text to whatever they want their promotion to be.

It's a basic, clean sports entertainment design, almost the same as one I used for the MAW logo (minus a few things that can't be recreated with layer styles), but its a start for people to play around with.

Any chance you could repost this?
