Akima Umaga & Tama Toma</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>Davis Ditterich</em></strong><em> “Not a cage match, but this should be a violent brawl between a team of salty veterans, and the newcomers to the tag ranks here in CGC.”</em></p><p> </p><p>

Akima headbutts his way to dominance early. Tanner thumbs him in the eye to take control. Hair-pulling. Eye-gouging. Fish-hooking. The House of Old School use every trick in the book to keep it in their corner. Fraser makes the mistake of headbutting the hard-headed Samoan, practically knocking himself out, allowing Akima to make the tag. Tama Toma flies in, the pint-sized Samoan punching well above his weight through sheer lunacy. Samoan Spike DDT to Fraser. Golden Gate Bridge (Northern Lights) to Tanner. Stereo diving headbutts! 1... 2... 3! </p><p> </p><p>

The Dirty White Boys; LEAD BELLY & GREASE HOGG are drinking, revving their bikes for the benefit of absolutely no one. They suddenly notice JOHN McCLEAN watching them.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>JOHN McCLEAN</p><p>

You really shouldn't be drinking before a fight, especially if you're</p><p>

going up against someone like Jack DeColt. Alcohol dulls your senses.</p><p>

Slows your reaction time. Makes you stupid. Well, stupid-er.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Lead Belly advances on him. McClean grabs his hand, deftly twists it, and slams the drunken giant against a wall. </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>JOHN McCLEAN</p><p>

Careful now. Let's not make a 'thing' out of this. I remember you two.</p><p>

McClean. I'm here for a little thing called the Ultimate Showdown </p><p>

Series. You’d best not get in my way. </p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

/w A. Garcia <strong>SEAN DEELEY VS JOHN McCLEAN</strong></p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “Look who’s made his return to CGC to participate in the Ultimate Showdown Series! ‘Squeaky Clean’ John McClean. Once upon a time he was one of CGC’s most promising rookies. Now, a decade later, he’s a formidable veteran.”</em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>Catherine Quine</strong></em><em> “Sean Deeley’s no slouch though, and with Submissions meaning extra points, this could play right into ‘Shooter’s’ hands.”</em></p><p> </p><p>

Deeley stalks his prey, pouncing in for takedowns, but John McClean smoothly counters the ground game, using expert technical ability to roll him, turn him, and even ride him like a horsey. A distraction from Garcia allows Deeley to nail a series of suplexes and pounce on the left arm, twisting it at unholy angles, mercilessly attacking every single joint. John McClean fights back, focussing on the neck with cravates and neckbreakers...</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>“One Minute Remaining!”</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Both men eagerly attempt to lock in last-minute submissions. Deeley lunges for the arm. McClean deftly attacks the neck. Time ticking away. McClean changes tactics and- Stain Remover (Pancake Facebuster). 1... 2... 3 </p><p> </p><p>

It’s the Ultimate Showdown Series! Nate Johnson, you’ve just seen</p><p>

John McClean make his awesome return to CGC, what do you-</p><p> </p><p>

NATE JOHNSON</p><p>

Surprise, surprise. See that, Adrian? Sean Deeley just let The Elite</p><p>

down once again. I told you he would. It should be me with the </p><p>

sponsorships, with the endorsement deals, not that unmarketable</p><p>

weirdo Sean Deeley. </p><p> </p><p>

Watch closely, Adrian, because Nate Johnson’s going to show every</p><p>

advertiser in the country that he’s a goldmine by winning the Ultimate</p><p>

Showdown Series. Line my competition up! All 9 of them. I’m gonna</p><p>

knock them down and tap them out. The sponsors are going to be</p><p>

knocking down my door, and then the Elite will have to take me back.</p><p> </p><p>

CAGE MATCH</p><p> </p><p>

/w Grease Hogg <strong>LEAD BELLY VS JACK DECOLT</strong> /w Hotstuff Marie</p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “The Dirty White Boys may regret disturbing Jack DeColt’s yoga session.... or they may be drunk enough to want to fight ‘The Wild Man’ in a steel cage.”</em></p><p> </p><p>

DeColt sits cross-legged in the corner, trying to center himself. Outside of the cage, Grease Hogg turns on a boombox, blasting heavy metal. Jack DeColt furiously charges Lead Belly, trying to grapple him to the mat, but Lead Belly is too big and too strong. The Dirty White Boy beats him down with drunken thuggery, using his big smooth belly to bash, whollop, and even smother DeColt. Jack's rage builds and builds until it explodes. The Wild Man goes ballistic with right hands and shoulder tackles, finally knocking the big man down with a shoulder tackle off the top turnbuckle. </p><p> </p><p>

Suddenly, Grease Hogg grabs Hotstuff Marie. Jack practically tears the cage apart trying to save his wife, as Lead Belly sneaks up and- Hotstuff grabs a handful of Hogg's junk and squeezes. Hard. Grease Hogg screams in pain and collapses to his knees. In the ring, Jack sidesteps Lead Belly's charge, hits the Wild Ride (Reverse Death Valley Driver) and locks in End of Days (Bow & Arrow Dragon Sleeper). Belly taps!</p><p> </p><p>

SOOTHSAYER</p><p>

I see the future. I have looked into the stone and the stars and I have</p><p>

seen what Canadian Golden Combat will become. I have seen which</p><p>

warriors will rise from behind the shadows, and which relics of the</p><p>

past will fade into nothingness. </p><p> </p><p>

This place is on the brink of change. Say goodbye to your heroes. They </p><p>

have had their day in the sun. The future is coming, CGC. It cannot be</p><p>

changed. It cannot be altered. It is unstoppable. I will make sure of it. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>IN-RING</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The lights in the arena flicker and die. An orb of electrical sparks appear in the middle of the ramp. </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SPrice_zps6eadfa72.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

After one big explosion, THE PRICE-INATOR appears crouched in the middle of a ring of smoldering fire. He... I think he’s naked. Or wearing really small flesh covered underpants. He robotically walks down the ramp, where as chance would have it, Grease Hogg has left his motorcycle. Also by luck, Hogg left a pair of leather trousers and sunglasses on it. The Price-inator puts them on. I don’t know how the trousers fit, but they do.</p><p> </p><p>

Tiny midgets dressed as evil robots rush him. The Price-inator pulls out a ludicrously huge gun and starts “shooting” them, and the surrounding set. There are lots of explosions as the future super soldier battles his way into the ring. </p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “Neither Price nor DeColt could prove they deserved the title shot more than the other, but Gargantuan’s happy to take them both on.”</em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>Catherine Quine</strong></em><em> “Because Gargantuan is too big to climb the cage or squeeze through the door, first pinfall or submission wins the title!” </em></p><p> </p><p>

Price attacks with European uppercuts. Simple. Effective. Unstoppable. He practically volleys DeColt over the ropes and into the cage, but eats an Unreal Clothesline from Gargantuan. The genetically modified super soldier tosses his opponents around with frightening ease, until Ricky uses the cage to his advantage, springing off with a back elbow. He bombards his foes with high risk, intensity offense, until Price counters a bulldog by shoving him into the cage.</p><p> </p><p>

Suddenly, Gargantuan locks Price in a bear hug. DeColt flies in and- Bear hug! Gargantuan squeezes both in his massive arms. Putting aside their differences, Price and DeColt use teamwork to fight free. European! Forearm! European! Dropkick! Charging Corner European! Charging Corner Dropkick! Gargantuan is out cold! </p><p> </p><p>

Christian and Ricky go strike-for-strike, desperate for any opening. Throat Thrust! Running Bulldog! European! Price scoops Ricky up for the Price Check (TKO) but it’s countered. DeColt 45 (Roll Inverted DDT)! 1... 2... Kick out! Stunned, Ricky climbs up for the High Fly Elbow, but Price catches him and throws him off the top rope. Seeing Gargantuan prone and in position, Price hits him with a huge splash. 1... 2... 3!</p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “Zeus refused an offer to join The Elite to ensure he got this title match for himself and Stevie Grayson.”</em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>Catherine Quine</strong></em><em> “The first team to have both men exit the cage, wins.”</em></p><p> </p><p>

Zeus weathers the storm of DaLay’s heavy hands, and battles back with lefts. Stevie uses the cage to his advantage, bouncing around Chandler and peppering him with hit and run tactics. Chandler throws a gigantic hissy fit, causing enough of a distraction to hurl Stevie hard into the cage wall. Chandler and Zeus climb, exchanging on top of the cage, until Zeus scores a headbutt and Chandler crotches himself on the ropes. The Bronzed God exits the cage.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “Zeus has left the cage. If Stevie can join him, we’ll have new tag team champions.”</em></p><p> </p><p>

Stevie climbs as fast as he can, but The Elite catch up and manhandle him inside. Chandler takes him to the ground, practically humping him into the mat. DaLay uses clubbing blows and charges into the cage walls. Zeus climbs back into the ring to save the day, summoning Godlike strength to slam and backdrop his opponents! Spinebuster to DaLay! Thunder Bolt (Sit Out Bomb) to Chandler! He hoists Stevie over his shoulder, climbs the cage, and carefully drops his partner outside. He’s about to follow, when Dan DaLay grabs his ankle and yanks him down. </p><p> </p><p>

Zeus battles valiantly, but he’s overwhelmed by the Elite duo. Backcracker! BACKFIST! Elegant Demise (Spike Belly to Belly Piledriver)! DaLay & Chandler have all the time in the world to exit the cage.</p><p> </p><p>

“The Thinking Man’s DeColt”</em></p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “When Joey Poison first became No.1 Contender, many doubted he’d be able to hang with the Champion... but now I wonder if Alex can hang with him.”</em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>Catherine Quine </strong></em><em>“A mysterious potion has granted Poison amazing strength and terrifying speed, but at what cost? Faith has already left him.</em></p><p> </p><p>

DeColt is cautious. He locks up, and is surprisingly overpowered by the smaller man. He tries speed, but Poison is impossibly fast. Alex varies his strategy, but nothing seems to work. Headlocks are easily broken. precision punches are ignored. Suplexes don’t seem to faze him. Unfazed, unfeeling, unblinking, Poison takes Alex apart with deadly right hands and slams into the cage walls. Alex lands a patented throat thrust- Poison Mist! Alex is blind! </p><p> </p><p>

Alex swings wildly, coming nowhere near the mark, but keeping Poison at bay as he tries to clear the Mist from his eyes. Poison goes for the Ripcord Lariat, but Alex is able to duck it and launch him with a Powerslam into the cage. Poison is up fast, but it gave DeColt enough time to get his sight back! Alex unleashes pinpoint counter-punches, targeting pressure points for... no damage at all. Wait. One punch worked. A small point above the right collarbone. DeColt attacks it mercilessly, hitting harder and harder each time. Poison backs up to the cage. Alex hooks him. Tower Collapse Superplex. 1... Kick out</p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “Oh my God he kicked out on one”</em></p><p> </p><p>

Alex goes for the DeColt Driver (Straightjacket Drop) but it’s countered. Ripcord Lariat! 1... 2... Kick out. A flicker of emotion emerges on Poison’s face. Frustration? Fear? He reaches out through the bars of the cage, to something tucked behind the steps. It’s another vial of potion!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/FaithS_zpsec0e66ac.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

FAITH appears from out of nowhere, snatching the potion from Poison’s grasp and running up the ramp.</p><p> </p><p>

Strange Chimes sound as the SOOTHSAYER appears on the ramp to block her path. He takes the vial, and throws her off the stage.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> “What the WHAT??? Who is that???”</em></p><p> </p><p>

Soothsayer passes the potion through the bars of the cage to Poison, who drinks it without hesitation. Body wracked with pain, he drops to his knees and thrashes around on the mat, unleashing a guttural scream then... Silence. Stillness. Poison rises, staring straight ahead with cold, dead eyes. Alex flees, climbing the cage as fast as his battered body can manage. Poison soon catches up, and the two do battle on top of the cage. Poison decimates him, but Alex stuns him for a moment with a precision strike, and that’s all he needs. He recklessly hurls himself outside, landing hard. </p><p> </p><p>

For various reasons, I wanted to play with the ‘default’ CGC roster for as long as possible, but with John McClean’s arrival, that makes 6 new characters I’d added to the show. More than I wanted. Missy Masterson was a key part of a story I wanted to tell, but there are already women on the roster who may have been usable. Samoan Wildboyz fill a babyface shaped hole in CGC’s tag ranks, but there are plenty of solo acts I could have put together. I never liked Adrian Garcia as color commentator, but was Catherine Quine the answer? I want every new character to matter. There needs to be a reason to change a promotion... and yet CGC in TEW2013 is very, very similar to CGC in TEW2010. There’s a natural staleness to the roster. The question is whether to embrace that, or strive for something new. </p><p> </p><p>

Dominating the next few months of television will be the Ultimate Showdown Series. A concept that may or may not be inspired by the Bound For Glory Series and/or New Japan’s G1 climax tournament, both of which I heartily enjoyed. The series should lend itself well to predictions. Maybe there will be a prize. </p><p> </p><p>

Squeeky's back! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> He's older now, but as long as he isn't in serious time decline, Squeeky, er...John McClean should make a great addition for his ring generalship.

<p>I can understand your feelings about the roster. Almost with any promotion I hate doing a total revamp at once no matter how bad they need it. Your hands are even more tied for the fact it started off as a multi player game and you probably missed out on several of the independent guys that would make good sense for CGC.</p><p> </p><p>

Even with that happening it looks like you got a few good additions. Wild Boyz are nice midcard tag guys and McClean is always fun to have around and will be a nice boost to the upper reaches with the card. I had also almost toyed with Jenny in a color role when I started up my game, but ultimately went with Phil. Much like you I don't like Adrian as a desk guy. Even more so when he is supposed to be the manager of the biggest stable in the company.</p><p> </p><p>

With all that being said once again awesome show and the showdown series should be great!</p><p> </p><p>

<em>SPARKLING VAMPIRES RULE, THAT'S WHO!</em></p><p> </p><p>

Another statement on revamping the roster:</p><p>

CGC = DeColts. That's it. DaLay is a good friend of Alex, so he stays. Eddie Chandler is just cool. But the rest? change them up, swap them around, they're The Other Guys. As long as it's the DeColts versus The World, as long as the stories are family-friendly, then it's still CGC. Talent is not the company, unless that talent is the DeColts.</p>

Found it in the render thread. I think it's originally from the Comic Book Hero.

Aye, it's from CBH. It's from the big pack of renders I cut and pasted onto the cverse background back in June or July.

JENNY PLAYMATE interviews JOHN McCLEAN.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>JENNY PLAYMATE</p><p>

One week down! Eight more to go in the Ultimate Showdown Series.</p><p>

I’m with John McClean. Veteran fighter. Former CGC wrestler. </p><p>

Currently on 2 points on the leaderboard. John, why the return to</p><p>

CGC?</p><p> </p><p>

JOHN McCLEAN</p><p>

It’s quite simple, my dear. Unfinished business. When I went left CGC</p><p>

back in the year 2000, I left a lot of things undone. Revenge not taken.</p><p>

Wrongs not righted. Goals not achieved. One of those goals is winning</p><p>

a major title in CGC, and I don’t know about you, but I consider the</p><p>

Ultimate Showdown Series to be a major title.</p><p> </p><p>

Another bit of unfinished business is Nate Johnson. Before I left CGC,</p><p>

when he was new to the company, I had the ‘experience’ of teaming</p><p>

with Nathan. It seemed like a perfect fit. I live clean. He lives... or at</p><p>

least ‘lived’... natural. Yet the relationship quickly turned sour. Words</p><p>

were exchanged. Mothers were insulted. Yet I was unable to achieve</p><p>

satisfaction and clean up his “100% All Natural” mouth. Next week,</p><p>

over a decade later, I get my chance. </p><p> </p><p>

Jack calmly controls Grease Hogg with simple grappling techniques, while Alex counters Lead Belly’s heavy hands with precision counterpunches, targeting pressure points with pinpoint accuracy. The DeColts hit a variety of classic double team moves, until Grease Hogg cheapshots Alex. While beating Alex down with drunken thuggery, the D.W.B. make sure to infuriate Jack at every opportunity. The Wild Man repeatedly tries to get in the ring, invariably ruining his brother’s comeback attempts by distracting referee Franics Long and allowing illegal double teams. Finally, Jack forces himself to calm down, and patiently wait for Alex to power free and make the tag!</p><p> </p><p>

Jack DeColt runs wild with right hands and shoulder tackles. He backs Grease Hogg into the corner and proceeds to Punch! Him! In! The! Face! Wild Ride! 1... 2... Lead Belly breaks it up. Alex retreats to the corner, trying to get his sight back, but Poison stares at him with cold, dead eyes and starts stomping. Over and over and over. Shots to Alex’s unprotected head. As indicated by the Ultimate Showdown Series highlight segment, I’ve started running extra live events, so I can fit all of the series matches into a sensible time frame, and to give me more to do between posting shows. So Saturday nights, the day before we do TV, CGC will rock up to a smaller venue (in this week’s case Twin Elms Park) put on a smaller, more intimate show, before driving a few hours to the bigger venue for television the next day. With the exception of the Ultimate Showdown Series matches, I won’t divulge much of what goes on in the events, but I’ll give you a taste of what happened this week.</p><p> </p><p>

Poison, Christian Price and the Samoan Wildboyz picked up wins. The Ultimate Showdown Series continued (see the above episode for results) while Jenny Playmate conducted interviews with the competitors who didn’t have Series matches, before they competed in a disappointing wackadoo 6-man tag. Soothsayer spoke of the future. Alex DeColt spoke of his narrow victory at the PPV. In the main event, Jack DeColt won a rematch with Lead Belly, under First Blood rules. It was a slightly underwhelming show, and it cost us some popularity.</p><p> </p><p>

You didn’t miss much. These shows will be kinda rematchy and very squash matchy. It’s about skill development more than story.</p><p> </p><p>

Forgot to do this earlier. Let's take the Ultimate Showdown Series and add more numbers and equations to it. </p><p> </p><p>

Fairly predictable first week. Bit unfortunate, but given the headache of scheduling all these matches, taking into account getting good main events for certain weeks, spacing out heel vs heel matches, something had to take a lower priority. Better predictability than something else. Bobby/Nate was the only thing that tripped folks up. Former tag team partners knew each other too well. Draws are not only possible in the Ultimate Showdown Series, but probable given that pesky 10 minute time limit.</p><p> </p><p>

A lot of predictions for a Ricky DeColt win (I guess you know what promotion you're watching) but nobody's cheering for him. Rather, it's the villains of CGC getting the lion's share of the applause. You internet smarks you. Feel free to change your mind on who you're betting on/cheering for at any time. I'm finding it much more interesting information than the traditional predictions, although in this environment that's fun too.</p>
