I've not done full predictions for a while, but I'm going to do minor predictions here.

Zeus Maximillion overcomes all the odds to win the Ultimate Showdown Series. Stevie Grayson loses and gets fired... only for Zeus to use one of his three wishes to save his brother in arms, cementing him as a top Face only one step below the DeColts.

That's the main thing.

If Zeus Maxmillion defeats Ricky DeColt than I could see Alex and Jack DeColt defeating Soothsayer and Poison but I have a feeling that Ricky will win and if it happens then I don't think that Alex and Jack will win. Could be wrong but that's the way I see it.

Davis Ditterich “Whoever comes in last in the Ultimate Showdown Series will be fired, and these two sworn enemies find themselves perilously close to the bottom.”

Whippy makes a fool out of his opponent early with tumbling and simple mime tricks, until Pow Wow blows up a balloon and ties it into a poodle. Whippy is delighted! Clownziguri from Pow Wow! He mocks Whippy with rolling and pathetic mime tricks, until Whippy hastily mimes a wall. Pow Wow ignores it, but his Star Treatment (Super Kick) is caught! Clownziguri! HuraClownRana! Pow Wow desperately clutches at Referee Jonathan Taylor’s leg, making sure he doesn’t see-

Nate Johnson gets on the apron, distracting Whippy and allowing Pow Wow to charge. Whippy ducks, Pow Wow collides into Johnson. Roll up! 1... 2... 3!

Davis Ditterich “It’s make or break time for Stevie Grayson. If he doesn’t get points, he’s fired.”

Catherine Quine “Pow Wow’s staying at ringside to make sure of it, but Whippy’s here to even the odds.”

Stevie peppers Johnson with hit and run tactics, until Pow Wow trips him. Showing off for the cameras and smiling an insincere smile, Nate targets the knee and ankle with takedowns and painful holds, until Stevie dodges, ducks, dips, dives and dodges. Tornado DDT! Pow Wow throws a chair into the ring. Whippy goes in to remove it, inadvertently distracting the referee. Pow Wow goes for Star Treatment (Super Kick) but Stevie ducks and he accidentally knocks out Nate Johnson instead. 1... 2... 3!

Davis Ditterich “Winner survives! Loser gets fired! ”

Johnson and Pow Wow charge at each other, throwing desperate hands with reckless abandon. Pow Wow seems to get the better of the exchange, until he’s wiped out with an Exploder Suplex. No posing. No smiling. Nate Johnson annihilates Pow Wow with repeated suplexes. Panicking, Pow Wow hastily mimes a wall. Johnson pauses only a moment. Roll up! Oversized clownfeet on the ropes! 1... 2... 3!

Davis Ditterich “The Samoan Wildboyz are on a mission for The Elite’s tag team titles.”

Nelson and Seeker outmaneuver their larger opponents with smooth double team combinations. Prime Kick Rush! Stereo-ziguri’s! Eddie Chandler begs off, squealing and crying, allowing DaLay to blindside Nelson with a big boot. The Dirty White Boys isolate him with drunken thuggery, as Chandler practically humps him into the mat. DaLay leaves them to it. Nelson escapes a bear hug and tags in Wildboyz, who run wild with headbutts. Golden Gate Bridge (Northern Lights) to Chandler! Samoan Spike DDT to DaLay! Stereo Diving Headbutts to DaLay! 1... 2... The Dirty White Boys make the save, but Prime Energy take them out with dropkicks and planchas!

Akima sets up another Golden Gate Bridge, but Chandler puts his hand inside his trunks. Akima freaks out and recklessly charges- BACKFIST from DaLay! 1... 2... 3!

The Elite are in the ring. SEAN DEELEY warms up with a quick 300 pushups, while ADRIAN GARCIA takes a microphone, flanked by the CGC Tag Team Champions DAN DALAY & EDDIE CHANDLER.

ADRIAN GARCIA

You know what I like about Bobby Thomas? He knows his place. He

know he’ll never be World Champion, So instead he does business.

He’ll never have the mansions and the private planes, but in a few

years when his body gives up, he’ll have that bit more money to

pay off the mortgage on a nice two-bedroom, and get a little extra

BOBBY THOMAS makes his way to the ring, wearing an especially fine business suit. DaLay and Chandler loom over him, while Garcia shakes his hand and invites him to lie on the floor.

Davis Ditterich “I know Bobby Thomas would do anything for money, but to see Sean Deeley win the Series like this would be very disappointing.”

Bobby Thomas takes off his suit and carefully folds it, before laying down and offering his arm. Deeley pounces and- Roll up! 1... 2... Kick out! The Elite are furious and try to storm the ring, but referee Francis Long threatens disqualification. Deeley shoots in for a takedown and eats a knee to the face. Specialist Touch (Single Arm DDT) 1... 2... 3!

BOBBY THOMAS (4:13)

JENNY PLAYMATE

Bobby Thomas, you had no chance of winning the Ultimate Showdown

Series. Yet you refused Adrian Garcia’s offer to lay down for Sean

Deeley. Given your love of making money, I have to ask. Why?

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SqueekyMcCleanS_zps800b948f.jpg

JOHN McCLEAN

Why indeed. Alas, my dear. I’m afraid Bobby Thomas hasn’t turned

over a new leaf. He merely received a better offer.

John McClean hands a briefcase to Bobby Thomas, who opens it up. It’s full of money. He leaves to count it.

JOHN McCLEAN

As distasteful as I find this whole “business”, I couldn’t let Adrian Garcia

buy the Ultimate Showdown Series for his man. So I put some money

together, called in a few favours that’ll likely bite me in the behind,

and made Mr. Thomas an offer. He drove a hard bargain, but the

important thing is that the Series is still up for grabs, and all I need

to do to take it is tap out that young troublemaker Trent Shaffer.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Banner_zpsac259299.jpg

14pts - TRENT SHAFFER VS JOHN McCLEAN - 14pts

Davis Ditterich “Sean Deeley leads, but thanks to McClean paying off Thomas, he only has 15 points. A submission here would win the Series for either man!”

McClean uses his vast technical knowhow to treat Shaffer as a child early on, twisting him, turning him, even putting him across his knee for a spanking. He sets him up for the Face Wash, but Trent is fast. Scary fast. Practically caving in McClean's chest with a dropkick. Shaffer ruthlessly assaults the ribcage and sternum with sharp elbow strikes and a series of gutbusters, berating McClean constantly. Trent misses a rushed Heart Burn (Double Foot Stomp) and McClean battles back! Neckbreaker! Face Wash!

"One Minute Remaining"

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SeanDeeleyS_zpsb4e76d0e.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/AdrianGarcia_S_zps76f8387e.jpg

McClean hits Stain Removal (Pancake Faceplant) but SEAN DEELEY pulls Referee Jonathan Taylor out of the ring before he can count the pin. McClean quickly wipes Deeley out with an axe handle smash, throws the referee back in, and- Handful of Glitter! DDT! 1... 2... This time ADRIAN GARCIA pulls out the referee!

THE TIME LIMIT HAS EXPIRED (10:00)

BOTH MEN EARN 1 POINT

Shaffer and McClean are both furious, as The Elite pair head up the ramp.

ADRIAN GARCIA

Don’t give us that attitude. John McClean and Bobby Thomas conspired

to screw my client out of his rightful glory, so it’s only fair that we do the

with only one match left to go. Zeus Maxmillion against Ricky DeColt.

there’s no way zeus can win with that arm, and there’s no way ricky can

ALEX & JACK DECOLT

Davis Ditterich “Soothsayer turned Joey Poison into an unstoppable monster capable of taking out Alex and Jack DeColt, but now they’re back for revenge.”

Catherine Quine “Can they find a way to defeat the unfeeling monster, and a mysterious masked man who may just be able to see the future.”

Soothsayer avoids Alex's precision punches, almost as though he knows they’re coming. Stinging kicks! Seated Faceplant! Nothing Jack does seem to phase Poison, even attempts to Punch! Him! in! The! Face! Poison just eats the blows and takes him apart with right hands. The DeColts switch it up. Jack surprises Soothsayer with high-risk, high-intensity offense. Decent dropkick. Jogging Bulldog! Alex unleashes pinpoint punches right on Poison's weak spot, just below the right collarbone! He clamps on a Nerve hold, but Soothsayer wipes him out with the Harbinger (Flying Flip Neckbreaker)!

Poison targets Alex's head with deadly right hands, before throwing him across the ring with unsettling ease. Soothsayer directs traffic, tagging in only to stop Alex's comebacks with his supernatural ability to anticipate and counter his classic moves. Jack's rage builds and builds on the apron, but he restrains himself until Alex fires up with pinpoint counterpunches to Poison's weak spot and makes the tag!

Jack goes berserk on the rattled Soothsayer with right hands, shoulder tackles, and Punches! To! The! Face! Soothsayer counters Wild Ride (Reverse Death Valley Driver) but has no answer for DeColt 45 (Roll Inverted DDT) 1... 2... Poison Mist! Jack is blind! Poison goes for the Ripcord Lariat, but Alex applies the Nerve Hold! Poison feels pain! Soothsayer flies in for the Harbinger, but Alex catches him for a sustained vertical suplex.

The DeColts gang up on dead-eyed Poison, who catches Jack's injured fist and crushes it, before breaking free of the DeColt Driver (Straightjacket Drop) with brutal elbows. He backs Alex into a corner and stomps him in the head, over and over and over and over and- over and- Jack jumps on his back! Nerve Hold! It's with his weaker left hand, but it keeps Poison at bay long enough for Alex to duck another Harbinger. DeColt Driver to Soothsayer! 1... 2... 3!

The ring is surrounded by interested spectators. SEAN DEELEY paces nervously, as ADRIAN GARCIA berates him for his earlier loss. DAN DALAY and EDDIE CHANDLER look ready for a fight, if need be.

Davis Ditterich “The last scheduled match in the Ultimate Showdown Series. A submission for either man would win them the Series outright, but in the event of a pin or a draw, we’ll have another tiebreak match.”

Catherine Quine “Submissions have eluded Ricky so far in the series, but Zeus is coming in injured. The arm is there for the taking.”

Ricky goes straight for the arm, but seems confused as to what to do with it, allowing Zeus to launch him across the ring with hiptosses and right-handed throws. Ricky cuts him off with an Epic Dropkick and runs wild with high-risk, high-intensity offense. Running Bulldog! Ricky goes for End of Days (Bow & Arrow Dragon Sleeper) but gets confused until Jack yells instructions from ringside. It's locked on! Zeus roars in pain and- On Adrian Garcia’s instructions, Sean Deeley pulls Referee Francis Long out of the ring. Alex and Jack immediately get in The Elite’s faces. Stevie tries to calm things down, but Trent shoves him into DaLay. A wild brawl breaks out at ringside.

SOOTHSAYER drops in from out of nowhere and plunges a syringe of glowing purple liquid into Zeus Maxmillion’s shoulder. The Bronzed God roars and collapses, thrashing around on the ground, unleashing a guttural scream then... Silence.

All of the brawling at ringside stops as the ALMIGHTY ZEUS rises. His eyes glow. His body twitches with power. His face contorts with a million conflicting emotions fighting for control. Rage battles fear battles joy. Ricky moves to attack, but- BOOM! Lightning bolts strike each of the four ringposts and the ring collapses around Zeus. Ricky goes down.

Everyone at ringside, from the DeColts to the Elites, look in in horror as the Almighty Zeus puts Ricky DeColt in the Olympian Clutch (Camel Clutch). Zeus wrenches and wrenches and roars and wrenches... Ricky taps.

Ultimate Showdown was CGC’s worst PPV of the year. I could tell from writing that the babyface-only main event wouldn’t be a barnstormer, but I was blindsided by how bad some of the matches and promos were. The ratings were bad, and the buy-rate was considerably lower than usual (we usually average 20,000). In fact, the entire back end of the series has been weak. Ratings-wise, morale-wise and creative-wise. There was a lack of genuine heat between the participants, and I wonder if CGC management are kicking themselves for not throwing Poison or Soothsayer or Jack DeColt or Eddie Chandler or all four into the fray.

Still, you know, I had fun. I’m a mark for tournaments and league. I lost interest in TNA the moment the BFG series was over. Plus, some of CGC’s lower-end characters got to stretch their legs, raise their entertainment skills, and improve popularity. Only one of the 10 is visibly less popular than he was when it started. While the actual series may not have been a success, I think it’s provided the building blocks towards a successful near-future.

Awesome PPV and nice to see Zeus get the win there in the end over Ricky. I do admit I am really surprised by some of those match ratings. I mean I have seen grades take a hit from heel vs heel and face vs face, but never something that would drop the likes of Johnson and Powell to a D- or the like. I guess maybe it is a combination of that as well as match times. But meh, the stories are fun and the PPV was fun. That is what matters.

A prize too? Wow... all that and the finals was the guy I predicted to win losing to the guy I was cheering for.

Woah. Those ratings tanked, and hard!

But still! I love The Almighty Zeus, I love Poison, I want to see what's happening with Soothsayer, the DeColts still rule, and I still love Eddie Chandler so hard. Keep up the good work!

Nice twist at the end with Zeus getting injected with that potion/serum/concoction that has turned Joey Poison into a monster. I didn't see that coming. I thought for sure that he was going to lose, especially since Ricky was in perfect position to win the whole thing with a submission victory.

The ratings were not that good, but maybe with all the attention that you've given to the less popular guys someone is ready to move up the card. I enjoyed the stories that emerged in and around the Ultimate Showdown Series: Zeus jumping to the early lead then getting injured, Nate Johnson continuing to fail, and Bobby Thomas "selling" his points. It was all interesting stuff. Hopefully, the game wasn't too discouraging.

I've been reading this for a while and really enjoyed the USS PPV even if the ratings didn't reflect it. I enjoyed how you set it up so both the top and the bottom of the boards were rife with possibilities and real rewards or punishments depending on the outcomes of the matches.

It match for a fun, dramatic read.

Pleasantly surprised to see The ALMIGHTY Zeus emerge victorious over a DeColt. One of the things about CGC is that it needs to be more than just a family face main event and developing and elevating others is essential to the expansion and survival of DeColt Country.

The presentation of the sports entertainment rings true for me and just seems so fun with the variety of characters.

I think the low over PPV grades stem from a lack of the Price is Rightness!

Great work Self.

Davis Ditterich “Last Friday night, The DeColts managed to defeat Soothsayer and Poison in tag team action, but I don’t think their war is over yet. Zeus Maxmillion won the Ultimate Showdown Series, but was been injected with one of Soothsayer’s magical potions.

Catherine Quine “What does this mean for Canadian Golden Combat? And what will happen when Ricky DeColt takes on the monstrous Poison tonight?”

IN-RING

Eyes glowing, body twitching with power, ALMIGHTY ZEUS stands in the ring, staring at the crowd. His face contorts with a million conflicting emotions fighting for control. Hate battles sorrow battles rage. At his side, SOOTHSAYER has a microphone.

SOOTHSAYER

The DeColt Family think they won a great victory against me and

Poison last night, but try as they might the sands of time continue

to flow. The future is ever changing. Soon the CGC World Title will

belong to the future, thanks to its humble servants... and the three

wishes now in our grasp.

By my hands, the champions of the future find their true power. Zeus

Maxmiliion was a God who tethered himself to mortals because a little

voice in his head told him he needed to, but the Zeus I saw in the

future was free. So I silenced that voice in his head. I severed that

tether. Almighty Zeus is free now.

SOOTHSAYER

You don't get it, do you? Zeus has been fighting. Every day. Fighting

against the belief that he's better than you mortals. Fighting not to

crush "Stevie, Son of Gray" beneath his boot. Fighting his true nature.

He's free now. If you thought the Zeus Maxmillion that won the

Ultimate Showdown Series was impressive... just you wait.

ALMIGHTY ZEUS VS PINKERTON O’SHEA

Davis Ditterich “How does Soothsayer do it? First Poison. Now Zeus. How are these potions changing these amazing wrestlers so completely?

Catherine Quine “Pinkerton is an ex-Navy SEAL, but this may be the worst possible time for him to make his debut.”

Zeus attacks erratically, alternating between cruel strikes and flashy submissions and furious slams. At moments, he even seems to feel sorry for his opponent. Pinkerton fights back with some forearms, including one that busts up Zeus’ nose, but gets laid out with the Thunder Bolt (Sit Out Bomb). Almighty Zeus grabs Pinkerton around the throat and overpowers him into the turnbuckle, summoning a- BOOM! A bolt of lightning strikes the ringpost!

Zeus covers his motionless foe, and a stunned referee Francis Long counts the pin.

YOUR WINNER... ALMIGHTY ZEUS (4:47)

Davis Ditterich “We are looking at a very different Zeus Maxmillion. Perhaps one more powerful than ever.”

Davis Ditterich “At ‘Chaos in the Cage’ The Elite escaped with their titles by the skin of their teeth. Tonight the Samoan Wildboyz get a rematch.”

The Samoans best The Elite through sheer force of head butts, until Chandler inexplicably swoons, distracting Akima long enough to eat a DaLay boot. The Giant Amongst Giants bullies him around the ring, while Chandler practically humps him into the mat, until he powers out of Abdominally Fabulous (Kneeling Abdominal Stretch) and makes the tag! Tama Toma assaults The Elite with high-flying brutality. Spike DDT to DaLay! He has Chandler at his mercy and- Chandler kisses him! Toma shoves him away and turns- BACKFIST! 1... 2... 3!

YOUR WINNERS AND STILL CGC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS

Davis Ditterich “Just when it looked like we were getting new champions, Eddie Chandler pulls something else out of his bag of tricks.”

ARENA BASEMENT

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/JoeyPoisonS_zps4b2c35df.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/RickyDeColt_S_zps16a827de.jpg

Checking his watch, JOEY POISON paces in the shadows of the bowels of the arena. His eyes are alive and clear... and worried and impatient. RICKY DECOLT watches him.

RICKY DECOLT

So this is where you hide when you’re not trying to cave in my brother’s

skulls.

JOEY POISON

Hold on. No. That wasn’t me. That was the potion. When I take it, I

can’t control myself. I just do what Soothsayer... You can’t blame

me for that.

RICKY DECOLT

That’s where you’re wrong, Joey, because even if you can’t control

yourself when you take that potion... you’re still the one drinking it.

You’re still the one siding with Soothsayer. So I do blame you, Joey.

You’re making a choice. Choices come with consequences. Tonight,

I’m the consequences.

Ricky leaves. Strange Chimes alert Joey's attention to a vial of glowing liquid behind him. Relieved, Joey Poison drinks deep.

RICKY DECOLT

Davis Ditterich “Ricky DeColt may have been able to tap out Zeus Maxmillion and win the Ultimate Showdown Series, had it not been for Soothsayer’s magic potion. Now he takes on Soothsayer’s other creation.”

Catherine Quine “Alex and Jack have found weaknesses in the monstrous Poison, but no one has been able to take him down completely. Will Ricky find the way?”

Ricky aims for the weak spot, but his punches lack the precision of Alex's or the power of Jack's. Poison takes him apart with deadly right hands of his own. Ricky tries to fight back, but his high-intensity offense is shrugged off. His high-risk tactics don’t pay off. Every clumsy attempt at submissions are easily broken.

A dropkick finds the mark! Slamming into the weak spot and allowing Ricky to score a Running Bulldog! Ricky climbs up for the High Fly Elbow, but Poison rises. Crossbody instead! Again Poison is up too fast. Missile Dropkick. He climbs again, Poison's up. Flying punch to the weak spot! Finally feeling pain, Poison collapses. High Fly Elbow! 1... 2... Kick out. Ricky jumps on Poison's back and tries to lock in the Nerve Hold, but can't find the exact pressure point. Poison elbows free. Poison Mist! Ricky is blind! Ripcord Lariat! 1... 2... 3!

YOUR WINNER... POISON (14:19)

Unfazed, unfeeling, Poison stares ahead with cold, dead eyes. Strange Chimes accompany the appearance of SOOTHSAYER and ALMIGHTY ZEUS beside him.

SOOTHSAYER

Just because the sands of time have found another champion in the

Almighty Zeus doesn’t mean the Wrath of Poison is over. He knows

no fear. He feels no pain. He should be the CGC World Champion.

Alex DeColt, you ran away at 'Chaos In The Cage'. You hid behind

your brother at 'Ultimate Showdown'. At ‘Battle Beyond’ you will have

no choice but to face him. I know you're scared, but if you don’t want

to fight Poison... Remember that the future have three wishes that'll

give you no choice.

ALEX and JACK DECOLT meet up with Ricky on the ramp, and stare down the monstrous trio.

ALEX DECOLT

You don't need to use a wish. I'm not scared of your monster. Jack and I

kicked your asses last Friday, so If Poison wants another title shot at

'The Battle Beyond', I'm more than happy to oblige. However, right now I

have you on my mind, Soothsayer. You're a mystery. A puzzle. Next week,

I'm going to solve you. I'm going to find out who you are. Next week, I

want to take on the Soothsayer one-on-one.

That’s more like it. The Ultimate Showdown Series was in many ways a mathmatical and creative disappointment, but if anything it made me more excited to get the blasted thing behind me, and back to the core storyline that I both knew would give me some meatier material to work with, and deliver the ratings, That being said, the show went better than expected. The main event was a pleasant surprise, given how Ricky has underwhelmed me in recent months, and Poison isn’t exactly a ring general himself. Momentum may have been a factor.

I’m going to slow down my posting for this next chapter. These set 4 televisions and PPV will be posted Thursdays only. Twice a week was fine when I had a massive stockpile of scripts (the rigid format of the USS was easy to book once I got the spreadsheet working) but I no longer have that comfort zone. A weekly schedule for the next month will give me time to work on the stockpile, and improve the writing quality.
