1995: War of The Worlds

Recommended Posts

Just a note that all the companies in the data have a Low Level drug policy. This will run a lot of companies, especially the smaller ones, out of business. For whatever reason, when importing companies from another mod, the drug policy gets set to Low Level.

I believe all AI companies automatically gets low level drug policies regardless.

It was a problem with the TEW2010-2013 converter on an earlier version of the game (that should now be fixed). It's not an AI issue at least - does the AI even use drug testing? I suppose they may get the cost associated with it, but I've never noticed the AI reacting to a failed test.

Very well, I will try removing it for the next release.

Yes, the ai reacts to drug testing. I've seen workers fired by the ai for a failed test.

I'm going to give this mod a go I just want to know a couple things. I've looked at some of the workers and I see they have their potential set already. I like to play my games as a more of a what if rather than a historical simulation when it comes to what guys developed and which ones don't. Will this screw things up a lot if I do this? Same question about time decline. I didn't search that one much but if you have it set on everyone and I set it to random is going to mess up your game world? Last thing I want is to get a few years down the road and no one is developing and everyone is on time decline or something if I were to set it to random.

But you play as you like. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Same question about time decline.
I realize it would be a hassle to go through individually, but just clicking around, it looks like almost no physical deterioration is in the mod at present. Guys like Pillman, Flair and Savage definitely need to have significantly more physical deterioration, as all were beginning to feel the effects of a flashier style by the time they were in their late 30's to 40's, along with the grind of just wrestling so many matches.

Add to that the puro guys- puro puts a beating on a wrestler's body, so Kobashi and Misawa, both major names for several years by now, probably need to show some physical effects.

However, if I give guys like Flair and Savage severe physical deterioration, they'll end up retiring within a few years from the beginning of the game. And Flair still did 60-minute iron man matches around this time, so while he wasn't a young man anymore, he was still pretty good.

Savage was completely broken down in 4 years time, and that was with working a reduced schedule in '97 and '98. That can be easily simulated by putting his body in the 50's and the rest of him a bit above that. It's just something to consider for later versions.

The thing is that if his body is put in the 50's, there's a good chance it will result in him retiring within 2-4 years.

I'll look into this, and might adjust phyiscal attributes of several workers - but I don't think I dare be as drastic as you suggest, sorry.

Promotion to consider adding: North Georgia Wrestling Alliance

It was open from 94-96/97ish and was a developmental territory for WCW.

Some data on it:

Scott Hudson and Steven Prazak were the announcers

Joel Deaton, Chris Walker, New Jack, Mustafa, Bully Busick worked there. Buff Bagwell, Scotty Riggs, Disco Inferno (as Brooklyn Stud) Raven (Scott Levy) Ray Lloyd (Glacier) all worked there before moving on up.

Reading wrestling classics is good way to find some data because you run across guys that actually worked for some of these promotions that can give you data. The only reason I think this one is more worthwhile than some of the other random promotions at this time is that it was a developmental fed for WCW.

Downloading the new updated data now and taking a try at ECW; as I recently re-watched the old ECW DVD released by WWE years ago. I'll report back. Going to continue my WCW game and get my unposted notes in there but some of those are on the old version; nothing much of note mostly just small nitpicky statistics stuff that could possibly be changed.

Thanks again Hive.

Edit - Few small gripes from my 1.05 save with WCW (Monday, Week 3, November)

- Trying to find a way to expand Nitro intro Canada, and then other markets but having trouble getting TNT to allow pretty much anything.

- Jody Hamilton, aka Assasin #2 is retired and has low scouting levels can't see anything; his experience also says 6 years. Just a small fix up needed.

- There are a few guy on my roster who's scouting levels a bit debatable based on their experience. I don't dislike it personally as it adds an extra element of skill and guesswork to things; much like real-life booking. Gonna start to compile specific ones so I'm not just nitpicking.

- Gene Okerland is still collecting performance and other mic stats, your call. In my opion he should either already be at that level or soon capping in game in terms of skill gain. This being said, he was in a segment with Hogan thus may it may have been rubbing off, I dont know.

Notes about my save, if anyone even cares that is...

- Luger got hit with Steriod usage in Week 1 of October, Regal in Week 2. Flair in Week 3 for Hard Drugs, and November first day for juice, along with Sting; who are the first people who responded well to my non-action in the situation. Told me he would get clean.... I love this game.

- Worth noting I started my game with Eric Bischoff, just as a booker to simulate reality as best as possible. Gonna be tough getting Austin in town anytime soon let me tell ya. Chose negotation full, the rest are split evenly except diplomacy is one lower (which I will supplement with my first additional point).

- Signed Hogan to a 3 year deal for 80k per month (only up roughly 1k per month from his expiring deal, left the bonus around 82k). He only got me for the creative control clause, couldn't be bothered to try and negotiate that off him if that's even possible I don't know.

- Dusty Rhodes took Rhino under his wing.

- Jake Roberts and DDP are no longer friends, looks like The Snake's chances in showing up down south just decreased greatly. It it noted however that they are not enemies, having just parted ways. This may actually be true of real-life at any given time with the two, or Jake and anyone. Will be interestng to see if they ever become friends again lmao, I wonder if the game takes into account things like past relationship tendencies when generating new ones. Interesting thought.

- Got Flair to re-sign for 3 years at 10k less per month then he was previously getting, and rouhgly 14k less than what it had him valued at the top of the negotiations screen. Left his bonus at 64k, lucky guy. Pillman for 2k less. Now realizing how beneficial these user talents or traits really are.

- Starting to run the riot act on low-level talent who act up; see: Dick Slater fighting Mongo McMichael (who's bound to get buried soon too cause he's been stiring the pot on his own). Eddy Guerrero showing up late.

- ECW starting a lot of feuds with other companies, love it.

- Hogan took Kanyon under his wing as a protoge in Week 4 right before Saturday Night TV.

- Dwayne Johnson has entered the game world in Nov. 1995, look out. Gonna follow his career closely.

As for the new 1.06 with ECW:

Product: I changed the women's division to none, as it seems none of the girls hired perform well enough to warrant a push as such. Beluah gets mad pretty quickly about her push, etc. My suggestion for AI leave it on, however I did notice it told me in hidden gems some random female wrestlers that would have never otherwise ever shown up in ECW, for realism sake.

- I also switched the face/heel divide to none.

- Chris Benoit should start with a WCW contract just like Eddy and Dean as all three got stolen from ECW/Indys at the same time.

- Steve Austin thinks ECW is too small, while this may be true in terms of the scenarios stats he did have a stint in the company post-WCW, pre-WWF whilst still injured, and even upon his in-ring return for a short period.

- Cactus Jack is affiliated (stable) with Raven's Nest, is this correct?

- I also agree all low-level companies should have drug-testing automatically set to off to begin the game.

While yes, I would agree much like many companies at the time there was a clear definition of heel/face, there was none in terms of who could wrestle who, who could help who, the amount of constant swerves, really the list goes on and on. In terms of simulating TEW, and then simulating ECW, and then simulating this period of wrestling, yes I am not opposed to keeping it on for A.I. Does anyone know when the debut angle for The Giant was? I know his first match was at Halloween Havoc, but I can't seem to find his actual debut anywhere.

Was it before or after the first Nitro? I know he starts off as a member of the roster in the data.
