1995: War of The Worlds

I think that 99 percent of people have only ever seen a Divas or a KO's match. When the KO's were first brought in they were pretty good but now with the exeption of a few they are no different.

Its baffling how sloppy in the ring the divas are. I'm not asking for a classic match but they look uncoordinated, non athletic, sloppy, and confused a lot of the time.

That being said if you can get past years of hating divas wrestling and watch a SHIMMER show most of those girls bring it.

A question for Hive; perhaps Johnny B. Badd's WCW gimmick should be changed? Just what he has right now, and if you get around to an update to the 94 mod as well.

I only say this because by this time, he had gotten so far away from the first leg of the gimmick that he was really only Badd in name and theatrics only. When I think of his Tutti Frutti gimmick, I think of the 91-93 version, where he was talking about being "so pretty" and talking and walking effeminately.

Maybe change his gimmick to Fan Favorite, just to keep up with the "Badd Blaster" type of stuff that was designed to pop the crowd? Otherwise, maybe a Old School Face.

For the alter ego gimmick, I'd say keep it as Tutti Fruitti. But for what he currently is running, it just doesn't seem quite right to have it set up as it is, when Marc Mero had worked so hard to get away from where he had started from.

Victoria/Trish in 03 was good. Micke James/Trish was good in what 05 was that? I think there was a good Jazz/Trish feud as well. Really 02/3 womens division in WWE wasn't that bad. Trish, Lita, Victoria, Jazz. I think the Trish/Jazz feuds, the Victoria/Trish feud and even the Stephanie/Trish match at NWO 01 where what got me into female wrestling. For the longest time for me the NWO 01 match was the best womens match I had seen. Of course again in 01 you didn't have a lot of choices but none the less it surprised me.

It seems like even The Beautiful People had a good feud in TNA. Kim/Kong was good stuff.

So yeah SHIMMER as I'm sure you know is basically just Women's ROH so much to the point where the SHIMMER title is defended on some ROH shows. It has its good but its also got its bad just like ROH.

Kind of ironic that the WWE gets ridiculed by a lot of smart fans for hiring models or girls based on their looks. Trish and I believe and even Victoria who also had no prior wrestling experience went on to really transform an entire genre of pro wrestling. Anyway there is good womens stuff out there but its few and far between in the main stream and its seemingly been years since anything was any good. I was kinda into Naomi/AJ before that thing went to hell.

A couple pages back I said I was going to try the game out with potential set to random but you did make a good point in that a wrestlers potential wouldn't change by random circumstances which I agree for the most part. With that said though if I keep the potentials with how you have them set does that mean guys become good no matter what or do they still have to be handled correctly. For example Lesnar became a pretty big star so in the future if I hire Lesnar and literally do nothing with him would he still become good?

Hmm... yeah, having admittedly not looked at the actual description of the gimmick before opening my mouth on it, you're right. This is why I'm not the mod maker <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

It was because I was watching some of his original stuff from 91 last night, and I thought about how far away from all that he had gotten. It almost was like two different characters, but the only real difference was that he was a heel at that time, and then to a face later. As a heel, the whole thing was played up a lot more; as a face, it was downplayed to just his theatrics during his ring entrance and such.

In short, never mind me on this one <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

But generally, I prefer gimmicks that can be applied to encompass several different character variations. Otherwise, we'd end up with waaay too many gimmicks in my opinion. And from a game mechanic perspective, I don't see why the early Tutti Frutti gimmick should have other requirements than the '94 or '95 one. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Great mod all around, well done. The only complaint I really have is that ECW (ANd possibly other companies) have a starting product that has both "fans will expect all wrestlers to be packaged with a proper gimmick" and "will attract fans who won't be keen on gimmicks", which I think gives a big hit to everybody's gimmick ratings, although I'm not certain. Just a minor thing, but I'm struggling to work out how to fix it myself.

I'd argue that Tutti Frutti shouldn't even be a gimmick. Johnny B Badd as a heel was just the default Flamboyant gimmick and as a face, either Fan Favorite or Fun Babyface.

Then again, I'm a supporter of the notion that the default gimmick database covers 99.9% of gimmicks out there.

Yeah, it's one hundred percent the truth. They all originated in EWR and the ones that needed to be expanded, or the way gimmicks were changed fixed any small issues or limitations the EWR ones might have had.

And if you really want, you can just create one.

Angle, match, and gimmick packs are really just for people who don't have imagination to pick the 'gimmick' and then spin it off in a certain way. Oh well. God do I hate angle packs right now though.... <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/mad.png.69834f23b9a8bf290d98375f56f1c794.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> So many pointless angles, I end up making the most basic ones you would assume were to be there.

For example instead of simply worker a attacks worker b, we got "Worker attacks B wearing a suit", "Worker A attacks worker B, and poses after". Then with the gimmicks you've got Powerhouse, Strong Man, Strong Wrestler, Olympic Strong Man, Olympic Powerlifter, Failed Olympic Powerlifter, Occasional Powerlifter. Or you've got the requirements not making any sense or having a consistency that the Default stuff Adam put out has.

Some of these excesses have still lingered over years later thanks to the import feature. Not sure if you have seen Jamie Dundee's (JC Ice) shoot interviews over the years, so this could just be an oversight out of being unaware. Anywho, his Ruthlessness, Boldness, Egotistical and Pessimism could use a big boost. You got his drinking habit down pat, though! Like I told Countdown in his WCW diary, I'm getting the itch to start a diary with the WWF with this mod. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Another oversight that I just noticed, Ted DiBiase's Drinking is still at 5%. If I'm not mistaken, he was reformed by this time. He was also in the process of starting his Christian ministry around this time period, so he should probably have his Religious lifestyle bumped up from zero percent because his beliefs did come into play as he wanted nothing to do with the WWF once the Attitude Era got going a couple of years later. Ted's personality could use a bit of adjusting as well as from what I recall, he didn't have a reputation for being a troublemaker backstage. About the only person I recall who really ever had anything negative to say about him was Honky Tonk Man whenever he wanted to go on one of his anti-religious wrestlers rants.
