Anyone know what language and engine/tools were used to make WMMA4? I'm looking to make my own text-based sim (not a sports sim, so don't worry about competition). I'm especially interested in what tools or libraries are used to handle all the database storage.

The earlier versions were made in VB 6.0 but I can't say about the current version.

A just question indeed. It's been a while. Would be nice to have some announcement about the next title in the near future. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

People often object to the "EA way" of releasing a title every year with just an updated roster and some new features, but honestly... to see the updated C-verse and new improvements... I'd dig that. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Their main objection is void anyway. If you don't think the improvements are significant enough, then wait for the next year. Yet they whine how they have to "skip this year" when they have to do that anyway. That's how I do it for the WWE games and it's perfectly fine. WMMA4 was released in 2014 so a new version wouldn't be illogical. But whatever Adam decides is fine with me. I like all his games.

I'm pretty much happy with the game as it is. I wouldn't like to see it add too many features as the simplicity is part of the appeal for me. Maybe the odd tweak here and there.

On that topic has anyone ever noticed a shortage of Thai Knees in the match engine? I don't think I've seen a knee strike, even when watching Thai specialists. Maybe a minor glitch?

But yes, they are very rare. I think this is realistic, as the Thai clinch is rarely seen in MMA but I agree that specialist should use it more often. Guys like Anderson Silva, Wanderlei, or Germaine for instance all incorporate it into their game quite often.

Question about booking tournaments

Greetings,

I recently created a tournament. However, before creating the tournament I scheduled the competitors in matches. The matches are identical to the ones in the tournament. Do I have to make the matches after creating the tournament for the tournament to work correctly or is it ok to make the matches before creating the tournament?

Updating BJ Penn etc.

Greetings,

I am playing with the Modern Warriors Mod (I think it is the most up to date version of the Mod). I noticed guys like BJ Penn, Vitor Belfort, and Josh Koschek are way too good. What is the best way to edit their stats. Should I simply decrease their attributes in everything? Or is there a stat that I can decrease that would make them perform like an aging fighter (one who still has the ability to show flashes of brilliance but is overall diminished).

Someone else could probably provide even more insight.. but lowering the chin stat dramatically makes sense in all cases, as well as lowering consistency (which will make it harder for them to go on a winning streak and get out of a losing streak). To me, aside from changing these I wouldn't do too much (unless you think someone has specifically diminished in a certain area) because most guys still stay the same or improve technically but just don't have the mentality, chin, or other physical abilities anymore

Can someone explain the concept of overlapping coverage to me? I'm assuming it means that two broadcasters cannot carry an event if they broadcast to the same areas. However I've been able to use multiple broadcasters showing an event in the same area without any complaints from them. Unless maybe PPV and TV are considered seperate and don't overlap?

Here's a random inquiry...

I'm using a child organization as a feeder league to my primary organization. It's not meant to act as it's own promotion - even though it's presented as such in the game - but the concept here is that it's more of a second-tier B-level show of my primary promotion that features lower-level fighters looking to earn their way into the main show. Think Strikeforce and Strikeforce Challengers. Strikeforce Challengers wasn't its own promotion. It WAS - for all intents and purposes - Strikeforce. This way, I don't have to book the "Challengers" shows myself; the game does it for me. That's the concept, anyway.

With this format I don't need title holders in the "Challengers" promotion. My question is, is there any way I can prevent my child organization from having championship titles? I know I can edit them pre-game to remove belts but that won't prevent them from issuing titles on their own. Is there any solution to this? Or are the titles here to stay, forcing me to simply ignore their presence? Any info is appreciated!

Hello,

recently got back to this little gem. now this is the thing:

i created a new team, added one permanent member (same one who created the team), when importing them both to my save game, everything seems fine. Except that it shows there are no members on the team, some fighters join on their own, but after a week or two, the team closes.

I cant get it why the fighter doesnt show up as permanent member, and why the team closes, despite i didnt chose the end date for it?
