Bold Cornellverse Predictions

Recommended Posts

Like many people here, I'm pretty excited about TEW'16. I can't wait to get it and spend time in the new C-Verse. I'm wondering what predictions the board has. What is the same? What is different? This thread is for BOLD (and maybe not as bold) predictions.

For instance, I feel like SWF and TCW will still be 1 and 2 in the USA. USPW has fallen back after throwing big money at yet another washed up star; this time it's Christian Faith who is a fraction of his former self. However, USPW is challenged by an unlikely threat - MAW. Keith wants to be more than just a "training ground" and has built MAW into a legitimate contender on the East Coast.

<p>The First Lady of Australian Wrestling will debut and spark a women's revolution down under. </p><p> </p><p>

There are currently NO female wrestlers in the 2014 C-Verse based in Australia and I think it's APW that has a women's division that it discusses in their bio?</p>

<p></p><ul><li>Logan Wolfsbaine will be named "Most Potential" by both the TEW.com writers and by the board in general.<br /></li><li>The Architect will hold the "blueprint" title in MAW, a belt specific to him [similar to the ECW FTW Title], have a manager, and be main event over in MAW. <br /></li><li>The COTT will have an annual "Super Eight" Tournament equivalent. Bulldozer Brandon Smith will win the annual tournament and the COTT Championship, becoming the inaugural champion -- and the second tournament will be at the start of the game data. The tournament will be slated for January or February. <br /></li><li>This leads to several subsequent diaries starting with the SECOND "Super Eight" Tournament equivalent, usually with either CZCW or MAW, immediately beginning with (insert popular character) [Remmy Skye, Frankie Perez, Nigel Svennson and The Architect come to mind] cutting the Shane Douglas promo and telling the COTT to kiss "his rear end". <br /></li><li>The diaries combine for exactly 0 total awards, including Rookie, CVerse, DOTM and fail to place in the top three. An established poster starts a COTT diary, and a bandwagon effect leads them to capture a DOTM, before the project is subsequently abandoned due to managing five territories on ones own being incredibly time-consuming. <br /></li><li>TFC and Anderz "TGAAB and beyond..." verse diaries will sweep the awards for a few months despite being TEW 2013 Diaries. A few people will get irrationally angry about this, but cooler heads will prevail and no action will be taken. <br /></li><li>1/4 of all diaries and 1/3 of all CVerse diaries will have "COTT" in the thread title, unless Adam writes the Confederation out completely. <br /></li><li>Not only is P.J. Strong Canon, but EVERYONE will use him, mostly ironically, and he'll appear in a ton of small and regional company diaries even though he is under an exclusive contract. <br /></li><li>L-Ring will debut and be part of the COTT, but no one will use as a diary until next edition citing "lack of history". In off-line games, everyone will use L-Ring, and 1 out of 3 posts in the "What's Going on in Your Game" thread will be about L-Ring. <br /></li><li>Clark Alexander will run L-Ring and his sister Heather Halo will ref/book -- and a new feature will prevent you not letting Halo ref. <br /></li><li>Adam will implement a feature allowing Jay Chord or [insert Keith Brother] to take over MAW after Sam Keith retires/passes, and with new TV/PPV mechanics, MAW ends up a close #3 in America within 5-6 years in most saves.<br /></li><li>There will be a 8-man multiplayer TEW thread that will collapse within a month but someone "won't get it" and continue writing for another three months.<br /></li><li>Adam will announce a MMO-server-like-feature to TEW a few days before release leading to skyrocketing sales. Several people will stream the game on Twitch after [insert famous internet celebrity] tests out multiplayer function with large amount of "griefing" and shows that make Vince Russo WCW look well-thought out, the game will go viral and contend for online Game of the Year Awards. <br /></li><li>A TEW-related tag will trend on twitter, and there will be a TEW Meme that goes viral that NO ONE will get. <br /></li><li>WWE will mistakenly think the tag refers to them and put it on RAW. TEW-related signs will appear occasionally in RAW Crowds, but security will force them to leave. <br /></li><li>WWE will try to raid Grey Dog's Developmental Team after Adam turns down a multi-year deal, only to realize that Grey Dog is not a wrestling promotion. </li><li>Plans will go forward with a Grey Dog "parody" wrestler in the spirit of Gillberg, Fake Diesel and Razor Ramon. The character, resembling 4C's Eric Blackley, is "The Armadillo Smuggler". <br /></li><li>To make things more confusing, 4C will release Eric Blackley, and no one will remember or use him in-game. <br /></li><li>In about six months, everything will equalize, and only 1/6 of the diaries will be set in the C-Verse, with RW-WCW accounting for around 1/3. Things will go back to normal.<br /></li><li>Adam announces a new edition of Wrestling Spirit and we get a "2017" CVerse. I start the "2017 CVerse Prediction Thread" upon the announcement which, within a month, will be forgotten, until someone starts a "2017 CornellVerse Prediction Thread". <br /></li></ul><p></p>

<p>Brother Grimms GSW is the most over hardcore promotion in the world and super close to National thanks to Grim being a master talent scout and an amazing booker. They have added a few extra workers but still haven't lost ANYONE in their entire existence through loyalty and money.</p><p> </p><p>

USPW over takes TCW as the number 2 promotion in the world, but when the games starts they are on equal ground. TCW is now on Wednesday nights and going head to head with USPW.</p><p> </p><p>

Christian Faith is the owner of USPW with his WIFE Alicia Strong booking the shows. Matty Faith is one of the top heels in the company after a long and brutal fued with Nicky Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

USPW has an intergender title and it's currently held by Tyrone Rexington, the over the top comedy face gimmick of T-Rex. He's fueding with Michelle Brendan and her body guard Gorgon.</p><p> </p><p>

NOTBPW has crossed the border and is hot the heels of both TCW and USPW. </p><p> </p><p>

SWF remains the dominating force not only in America but now all across the world. They've signed the best workers across the Globe as the vote for president of SWF angle is done similarly to the failed election one years early and Eric Eisen wins on the Global Campaign. John Greed is the current Global Champion, currently feuding with El Suicio! </p><p> </p><p>

They're no less then 6 new promotions across the Global.</p>

TEW will fall to cult and be the number 3 promotion in the US, USPW will collapse in on itself and NYCW will be the only slow old guy hoss promotion, although then influx of "name" talent will make it the most over regional promotion. And influx of great Japanese workers and a surprise TV deal will have launched CZCW to number 2 either just barely into or barely below national. SWF will have a number of their major Stars Injured but this will have proven a boon as some of the younger talent have stepped up to the plate, but what happens when the former big names come back from injury?

Not exactly bold, but here's what I got money on:

SWF falls to cult due to retiring workers and talent stealing by #1 TCW, Tommy Cornell starts to wind down/gets permanent injured. GSW has destroyed IPW and is Regional.

In Japan, the top guys stay about the same, but the Modern Japan movement will be a mixed bag with Exodus and WLW rising in status but GCG struggling with heavy talent raids by BCG and the Big Two (I figure Emerald Angel will be in Burning Hammer).

Mexico will be about the same, with SOTBPW trying to expand into the USA and possibly a new wildcard Hardcore or Modern promotion popping up.

Several big promotions are starting to focus on women as a solid lower-midcard option which is either helping or hindering the ladies promotions (possible AAA/QAW alliance).

ZEN finally has women workers but they're stuck in popularity limbo. 21CW is National. UEW is losing hard in Europe and about to close.

- Wow, so many things I could hope/think might happen. Everybody thinks about the COTT, but what if TCW forms a new alliance of promotions, essentially turning into the NWA of TEW, to finally bring down the almighty SWF? Think about it, the COTT is integrated into TCW somehow with a different name or maybe TCW goes back to being Hollyweird and TCW becomes the alliance name. The USPW is still independent and struggling a la AWA. The SWF is still #1 (just barely) and in a shocker, NOTBPW joins the TCW alliance!

- Somebody opens a lucha based company in the USA with heavy Lucha Underground influence. Essentially TEW's RAW but with more actual wrestling. I think that product can be possible, right?

- I agree with the COTT having an actual champion (unless they merge with a TCW alliance like I said) but I think the first one will be Findlay O'Farraday (is that spelled right?) or in a complete show of ego, someone like Puerto Rican Power puts the belt on himself. Oh yeah and Dean Waldorf and Marv Startler are the alliance tag team champions.

- Both Mainstream Hernandez and Kirk Jameson are in a bigger promotion.

- Rocky Golden is in either, SWF or USPW.

- MAW is the biggest member of the COTT.

- One of the "rapper" promotions is out of business and it's roster taken by the other.

- 4C has gone out of business.

- Australia bands together to try and stop RAW and form their own alliance of promotions.

When I originally proposed a TEW 2016 CVerse, I proposed 4C and IPW going out of business -- it's interesting to see some of the newer posters predict this independently. I'll re-state reasons here why I think that'll happen:

I've felt ACPW had a more unique product than 4C -- and is further both in feel and look than 4C from CGC. ACPW is also much more favorable toward sponsorship than 4C -- and despite 4C's emphasis on Daredevil, ACPW has a more intense product. Also, Troy Winner strikes me as an owner who'd sell "for the right price" and he has a bio as short as his stature, while Buchinsky seems willing to fight to the bitter end for his ideals.

I've always thought GSW had both a unique feel and a superior roster to IPW. GSW has "The Warehouse" -- which is a hometown hotspot owned by GSW's owner. I don't believe IPW would "welcome back" GSW guys, especially those who left IPW to join GSW.

IPW seems redundant to PSW -- I could see Nemesis working in EX2010 in a backstage capacity.

From a pure narrative standpoint, I don't want to lose GSW or ACPW so soon after they debut -- but I think some independent promotions should disappear for realism. There are few closures within 5-6 years in a good economy -- especially in the US -- that the number of promotions exponentially increases even in a poor economy. I want the CVerse to feel dynamic, and losing a redundant promotion -- such as 4C -- will help.

- SWF is still #1 with an even greater lead than before but is short of cash after having established their own network.

- Christian Faith has largely retired from in-ring work and works as a road agent and sometime authority figure. He may also be the booker.

- Vengeance has left for USPW, Remo is the world champion and #1 Face, and Paul Huntingdon has blossomed into the company's top Heel. Angry Gilmore remains in the upper midcard, still waiting for his shot at the top title. There's been a lot of turnover in the midcard as the company desperately searches for the next big thing that will bring in new fans.

- USPW has clawed its way back to National (at least temporarily) under the direction of new owner Peter Valentine. Newcomers Rocky Golden and Jay Chord have joined Nicky Champion in the main event, while many of the lumbering hulks of yesteryear have been replaced by newer, younger, lumbering hulks. The company is still about larger-than-life storylines and characters but the production is much slicker. Darryl Divine remains in the midcard, still waiting for that big push.

- Alicia Strong, angry at being passed over for ownership, has left for Japan and has helped lead 5SSW to high-cult status. 5SSW has embraced new media and is making their shows available worldwide on various platforms in order to bring in more money and prestige. Their success has actually hurt both AAA and QAW as all the top women are now heading to Japan.

- TCW remains at #2 but is struggling after losing many top stars to retirement or poaching by SWF/USPW. Wolf Hawkins and Joey Minnesota remain the top stars along with Cornell but there's a big drop in overness to the next rung of talent. Newcomers Matthew Keith, KC Glen, and Earnest Youngman do offer some hope for the future however. Aaron Andrews is still in the midcard, still waiting for that big breakthrough.

- Tired of being mired in cruiserweight hell, Edd Stone and Freddy Huggins have bolted for Canada, signing with... Canadian Golden Combat! They've both moved to the main event, with their "Hollywood Mafia" stable having taken over from Elite as the main opposition to the DeColts. As the save begins, they are currently working without their manager as Laura Huggins-Stone is away on maternity leave.

- Marriage has matured Edd but he will sadly go on to massively spoil his first child. Devin Stone enters the game world in 2034 as a flabby spot-monkey with a consistency stat of 14.

- Canadian Golden Combat is solidly National with Jack DeColt as champion and face of the company. Ricky has failed to catch on big however, and with Alex retired, they're in dire need of a new superstar.

- North of the Border Pro Wrestling has defied all expectations by remaining the #1 company in Canada. Talent sharing agreements with several Japanese companies have helped to maintain the quality of their product, allowing them to feature top Japanese stars on their shows and loan out their younger workers to Japan to gain valuable in-ring experience.

- In addition to their continued Canadian success, NOTBPW have used innovative distribution methods to gain cult-like popularity in the UK and are becoming a major concern for 21CW.

- 21CW is still #1 in the UK but a host of smaller promotions are chipping away at the foundations. With NOTBPW now a viable option for talented British workers, 21CW is having to pay more to keep their stars in place.

- Mainland Europe has also seen an expansion in the number of promotions, many of which have formed an alliance in an attempt to combat EWA's dominance. EWA itself has risen to Cult level as the industry has gained ground throughout Europe.

- Japan and Mexico look largely the same except for the rise of 5SSW as mentioned above.

- I may or may not be serious about any or all of these predictions. :D
