What's going on in your game?

<p>It's 1990 and Ted DiBiase has just won his first NWA World Heavyweight Championship by making former champion Ricky Steamboat submit to the Million Dollar Dream to win not just the title, but the War Games match between The Million Dollar Mercenaries(DeBiase, Terry Funk, Stan Hansen, and Mark Callous) and Team Dragon(Steamboat, Sting, Lex Luger, and Dusty Rhodes). Elsewhere in WCW, The Steiner Brothers are looking to regain the World Tag Team Titles from Ric Flair and Arn Anderson, Terry Taylor is on a run that may not only define his career, but the United States Title, and the hottest competition may just be in the Cruiserweight division, with the title bouncing back and forth between talented young stars like Dean Malenko, Jushin "Thunder" Liger, Jerry Lynn, and The Ultimate Dragon.</p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile the once dominant World Wrestling Federation has fallen far from their former glory, with WrestleMania VI drawing only a crowd of 24,000, less than half of WCW's Starrcade 3 months prior. Sure they may have the three biggest stars in the world in Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and Roddy Piper, but as far as an overall wrestling show, they just haven't been able to put together the same quality, or the same ratings, as WCW. Ratings for WWF's premier prime-time showcase RAW plummeted from 11 million on it's debut in 1988 to an average of less than 3 million in 1990, causing NBC to cancel their contract with WWF. Comparatively, WCW's ratings averaged around 5 million around RAW's debut, and have climbed to about 24 million in 1990. It seems Uncle Ted is quite forgiving, as he has given Vince and the WWF a home on TBS. At 2:05am Eastern, Friday Night, right after Monster Vision with Joe Bob Briggs.</p><p> </p><p>

So, I'm kinda bored with that game. I tried starting a RoH modern-day game, but just couldn't get into it. That the mod I used was seemingly created with a "Kids these days don't know how to work" philosophy didn't help. Though last week I was listening to an interview with Paul Heyman and started to wonder... What if the Pay-Per-View companies paid him the 2.5 million ECW was allegedly owed in 2001?</p><p> </p><p>

What if WCW went out of business but ECW didn't? What if Paul hired a Prototypical genetic specimen from Southern California? What if The Sinister Minister started preaching the gospel of The Fallen Angel? How would the ECW Faithful react to a pimple-faced kid with a homeschool haircut and a seemingly God-given ability to make his opponents tap out? How would they take it if some obnoxious Punk from Chicago started telling them everything that they liked was bad and terrible?</p><p> </p><p>

Hopefully, I can get another 4 years out of this game, like I did that WCW game.</p>

<p>Running NJPW in '87 again and got the mid-year award report. So far we're winning Company Of The Year, Show Of The Year, Match Of The Year, Wrestler Of The Year, Tag Team Of The Year, Young Wrestler Of The Year and Veteran Wrestler Of The Year.</p><p> </p><p>

It's mostly due to Tatsumi Fujinami whose had seven straight A rated IWGP heavyweight title defenses. He's basically become the 80s Misawa in my game and it's crazy to watch. </p><p> </p><p>

His lowest rated match is a B+ against Terry Gordy.</p>

Are you saying 4 years because that's when these guys debut? Because you could make the switch earlier (say a year earlier) to start the transition.

I said 4 years because that's how long my WCW game lasted. It's the longest game I've ever played in TEW(or EWR[or even Promotion Wars]), and, I'm hopeful this ECW game will last just as long, if not longer.

Also: NJPW in the1987 mod is pretty much playing on Easy Mode when it comes to match quality. :p

<p>So I'm in a very interesting period to book in my ROH game, this is the most fun I've had since I started this save.</p><p> </p><p>

As a backstory, I started with Sinclair Inc Group as my owners, who happen to own Comet TV, so I'm basically tied to a 'Very Small' sized channel with no other way to air in the US, which is dramatically slowing down my rise in Importance and Popularity.</p><p> </p><p>

So long story short, in 2017, I got to cult level and was finally able to give written contracts to my main guys. However, I was in a difficult financial period, so I had to only give them 3-year long contracts so I wouldn't be having that big of a wage bill in the long run. </p><p> </p><p>

Fast forward to now in 2020, and most of my top guys' (Go Shiozaki, EC3, the Bucks, Roderick Strong, Davey Richards ... all nearing the 90 pop) contracts are up, so WWE and TNA have started a bidding war with me for them. They already signed some of my top guys in the past (ZSJ, Kenny Omega, Rocky Romero ...) in the past, so I started giving them big money contracts with hiring veto and minimum pushes and all that good stuff. So as I'm headed to National level pretty soon, I'm afraid I'm gonna end up with a WCW-like lockerroom. But I've always been pretty safe in that regard (Backstage rating has been 100% for a few months straight now) so I guess I'll be fine. So far, they took EC3, Go, Drew Galloway, and Matt Jackson.</p><p> </p><p>

However, this rivalry I have with WWE is making me pull out all the stops when it comes to building new stars. My main event scene had been plateauing for a year or two before the contracts war, but having guys leave the company turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Galloway's departure helped me build Colby Corino by giving him wins over Drew during his last month with us, and now Colby is 24 and has 80 popularity in America and Canada while he was a lower midcarder before that. Same with Dean Brady and Davey Richards, who had a feud while I was still negociating with Davey, whom I turned out to keep, but he was nearing his 40's so it's a good thing he passed his popularity to a 24 year old chap.</p><p> </p><p>

So all in all, I think I'm gonna cap my level at cult while I secure a good 70 of Importance in America so I don't fall back as soon as I'm promoted, and when I'm done doing that, I'll start digging WWE's hole. This is gonna be a fun few IG years I have ahead of me.</p>

I just entered 2018 on my Smark Friendly Wrestling CVerse save, and some interesting stuff is happening. Namely, Phoenix I and Nemesis have both stepped down from their respective booking positions. I don't know how common this is this far in the game because I've never played a TEW game this far into the future, but it surprised me a bit. This does open up a chance to bring Nemesis in as a storyline authority figure; I've lacked one for a while since Koshiro Ino got healthy, and with Nemesis's ability to cut promos, he'll be perfect for that role.

It's almost for sure pointless to give specific names as I'm currently in the year 2060, but here's what happened to me over the last few days (months in game)

I'm running a regional Canadian promotion (one of 6 in the region...I was one of 2 when I started the game). My top star (in the low to mid 80s over) decided it was time to retire. I run an intergender promotion, so my top star (a female) put over this guy who had been a fairly successful upper-midcard champion.

The issue, outside of her in the 80s all of my other top guys are in the low 40s. So after she put over the new guy, he's effectively pooped the bed. His match ratings are down...and on top of that, he's literally holding all 3 titles (ME, UM, and Tag). I planned on vacating the UM title, but at this point I think I have to move the ME title off of him.

In any event, I've turned the original champion into a manager (she's got a TON of charisma) with the hopes of getting some new and different guys over. It's all a work in progress.

Needless to say, this has been my longest game ever.

<p>It's late 1994 in the WWF.</p><p> </p><p>

Bret Hart has turned back the challenge of his brother Owen, and has been facing off with Steve "Dr. Death" Williams and the recently-turned-heel Bob Backlund. Williams, Backlund and Jim Neidhardt have each sucker-attacked Bret at some time in the last 6 weeks, so Bret has decided to invest in some insurance. That insurance policy is called King Kong Bundy.</p><p> </p><p>

How did Backlund turn heel?</p><p>

Adnan Al-Kaisse has returned to the WWF as a wealthy, slick talking "benefactor". He's here to help people "solve their problems". He brought in Road Warrior Hawk to vanquish the Undertaker, but failed when Hawk signed to tour w/All Japan. But Backlund was subject to the BrainWashing, and learned to hate Bret Hart.</p><p> </p><p>

Elsewhere, Jeff Jarrett lost his tag team partner Yokozuna when the Big Man left for WCW, so instead of winning the World Tag Titles as I had planned for him, Jarrett attacked Razor Ramon and is pursuing the I/C title.</p>

<p>Finally debuted Chris Jericho in my WWF game (now 97) and was gonna have him debut straight into a feud with Razor Ramon as I had no plans for him. On the build up two weeks before the PPV and a month after his debut, Jericho gets injured and is sidelined for a month. No worries right? </p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, Jericho is set to return a week before Survivor Series so I was aiming to have him cost Razor a match to set up the high profile PPV match between the two. Nope. Two weeks before the PPV and Razor is sidelined in a match with Owen Hart and is now out for 2 months and will be back for January. I suppose it gives Jericho heel ammunition and all on return but damn. At this rate I'm probably gonna build Jericho up and delay the match until Wrestlemania to blow off the feud.</p>

<p>Playing as WWF in the COTT Mod... Starting in July, I've now completed two months, and we are in week 1 of September. I've lost the first two national battles, but that was expected. The difference is only 170 points, so I think I can catch WCW soon... My first two PPV's went okay, with In Your House getting a 94, and SummerSlam getting a 92. </p><p> </p><p>

WCW's shows are getting way worse grades, in the 70's and low 80's. My RAW's has been scoring between the low and high 80's. With SummerSlam behind me, I've started some new feuds, as I have risen to International (which won't last long if I keep losing the national battles). But I'm looking at the future with some optimism, and hoping I can beat WCW in the national battles soon.</p>

Using the New Blood mod that starts in January 2001, I edited so Bischoff bought WCW at the end of December. Nitro moved from TNT to USA Network. I'm using Terry Taylor as my User Character as booker. This is my first ppv and it did better than I expected.

1. Opening match was just a way to get some bigger names on the card who aren't really in major story lines.

2. Didn't realize I misspelled Steiner's last name, but oh well.

3. On the first Nitro under Bischoff's reign, he got rid of the cruiserweight division to make way for the new X Division. The Cruiserweight division had been brought down in prestige so much, that it felt right to just scrap it and start new. I brought in Jerry Lynn and RVD to be two of the major faces of it, but I meant for Chavo to win here. Oops.

4. DDP & Nash are both on time decline, so going to slowly phase them out. Huge fan of O'Haire and Palumbo could be a good mid carder. Going to build them up

5. Dudleyz are one of the best teams in the world at this point, so them targeting O'haire and Palumbo just makes sense in my head.

6. Storm beat General Rection for the US title on the first Nitro of the year and is doing open challenges every show to prove he's the best.

7. This was Rhino's debut match. Funk is on time decline big time, so I used Rhino to write him off.

8. Continued writing Funk off

9. Kidman & Rey were the most over tag team in the match, so they deserve the X Tag Belts

10. Kurt Angle answers Scott Steiner's open challenge much to everyone's suprise.

11. Angle and Scotty have a wonderful match that's setting the bar pretty high for the new WCW as far as match quality goes.

12. Angle won, so he celebrated :p

Staying pretty true to life. Good stuff. Didn't repeat the mistake of having Taker vs Taker on top I see

God no :p

I knew that one wouldn't score as high as most of the other matches. And yeah, I'm running the feuds that the save starts off with, plus a few of my own. But after that, I'll be creating my own history. :)

Playing as a modern WWE and Lana's contract is up, so I say "Two years you can stick around with Rusev because you help him at ringside and of course you're lovers." Rusev's contract is up two months later and Ring of Honor outbids me (BY A LOT) and Rusev leaves the company. ONE WEEK LATER, they are getting divorced. Crap move Bulgarian.

<p>Well, this is my new favorite TEW story ever. So I've been running Jim Crockett Promotions in '87 and everything's going fantastic. I've brought in a lot of talent from CWA and AWA (Vader, Williams, Henning, Lawler, Zybsko, Dibiase) and they've all been doing great.</p><p> </p><p>

Vader And Williams are probably my two top heels next to Flair and Dibiase looks to be the heir apparent to Dusty.</p><p> </p><p>

Unfortunately, things have been going too great though because while I've been focusing on getting those guys over and succeeding, The Road Warriors left the company and I never noticed.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Apparently, they left the company for AJPW two months ago and I just never noticed. I've been so focused on getting Vader And Williams over as a tag team that I never noticed the Road Warriors leaving I guess.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The really weird part is that the shows have actually gotten better as a result. I was getting low 80s in April (when they left) and now I'm getting low 90s in July.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

To give a better perspective on what their absence has meant. The last show they were on before leaving was the Jim Crocket Sr. Memorial Cup which had an 86 rating. My last show, The Eddie Graham Memorial Show did a 96.</p>

Damn, Sami Zayn just dodged a bullet. He has had problems with pain killers for quite some time and I've been putting him back to rehab over and over again. Now that he was coming back, I had made a decision. If he's still using them, he's gone because I'm just done going through this. Well it turns out he's clean now. Too bad he kinda ruined his big push and now I literally have nothing for him as it is WrestleMania season and everything for WrestleMania is pretty much set up.

So WCW just stole Randy Savage from me, even though I offered a lot more. (Must be do to his relationship with Vince). Now they'll be getting even more ahead in the national battles... Man, I'm gonna drop to Cult in a few months, aren't I? <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>In my current savegame (Default with some Tweaks) I am playing with MAW, but now I am two years in my game. It is middle of January 2018 and TCW just fired Kyle Rhodes as their CEO. I love TCW and think about to bring them back to the top. They fall to cult for the third time and lost almost everyone from their starting roster. They lost every bidding war.</p><p> </p><p>

Their current roster:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Main Eventer (67-71 Pop)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Danny Fonzarrelli</p><p>

Davis Wayne Newton</p><p>

Marc Speed</p><p>

Mighty Mo</p><p>

Nate Johnson</p><p>

Nelson Callum</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Upper Midcarder (64-66 Pop)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

American Buffalo</p><p>

Brent Hill</p><p>

Citizen X</p><p>

Darryl Devine</p><p>

Eddie Chandler</p><p>

Freddy Huggins</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Midcarder (55-65 Pop)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Andre Jones</p><p>

Bart Biggins</p><p>

Chance Fortune</p><p>

D.C. Rayne</p><p>

Donte Dunn</p><p>

Edd Stone</p><p>

Giant Tana</p><p>

Guide</p><p>

Masked Cougar</p><p>

Wael Hossam Jr.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lower Midcarder (51-66 Pop)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Dazzling Dave Diamond</p><p>

Human Arsenal</p><p>

Killer Shark</p><p>

Matt Hocking</p><p>

Titan</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Opener (30-51 Pop)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Bear Bekowski</p><p>

Groucho Bling</p><p>

Harold Borgomeo</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Enhancement Talent (25-28)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

two more new Worker</p><p> </p><p>

The Champions are Done Dunn (TCW International), Nate Johnson (TCW World Heavyweight) and The Machines, who hate each other right now.</p><p> </p><p>

It would be interesting to give this a shot, although I don't like the roster, but TCW has 55 million in cash. This would be very helpful to get them back where they belong.</p>
