It'd be like taking a young Warrior in this mod or Hogan in an earlier mod and building them into superstars. Most people would probably want to "base" the 750 point spread off that original worker.</p>

<p>After running 88 shows in '97, my UC's stats look like this:</p><p> </p><p>

My company is at Regional, with around $200k in the bank. I was already happy with my progress, then I saw this:</p><p> </p><p>

16. "Chance to Train" You have been offered the chance to train with a Wrestling Legend. Gain +20 points to spend on any performance row stats. <p>July 1987 [Year 1] Update</p><p> </p><p>

Dennis "The Worm" Rodman accepted a job with PNW. His new boss is owner Joe Pedicino. </p><p> </p><p>

PNW is stuck at regional, but "The Worm" can expand with the cash on hand when taking over other companies.</p><p> </p><p>

CCW is first on the list. But right now, "The Worm" has to focus on his training. The Fullers aren't ready to close the book in Tennessee yet. </p><p> </p><p>

My UC has seemingly plateaud. Top rows aside from brawling are still rising but eh. Safety & Consistency went up a tad. Acting went up and that's it. Pretty much no substantial improvement. Cannot tell if it's lack of talent around him or if I got EXTREMELY unlucky with my destiny roll.</p><p> </p><p>

The cheap workers tend to be Joshi workers so that's been the main source of incoming workers. We brought in Yumiko Mochizuki and Ikuko Matsumoto in 2019. Catherine Westybrook quit the roster between too much jobbing and some negative incidents. Disappointing since she had excellent chemistry with Gypsy Rose. Roster rankings!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I don't know if I've noted this before but the letter grade is their best performance ever, not their pop. </p><p> </p><p>

Gloria takes the top spot as Nathan Coleman falls down the ladder following his losing of the EVOLVE Championship. He was basically used as a gatekeeper for all my future challengers. Gloria hasn't really stepped up as EVOLVE Champion and has been carried quite a bit by some of the better challengers. Lessard & Taylor are the stars of the show (not counting my UC Jesus Glory). Nova and Ikuko have speared up the ladder with terrific performances. Christopher Ball continues to fall because of his MMA schedule. Texas Hangman got the benefit of a return from year long injury to get a win streak into a title shot. I've got Juliette King and Nami Genda in line for future title shots. Christopher ball & Nami Genda are also dating now.</p><p> </p><p>

Some pay rises have arrived from Lessard, Calhoun, referee Gregory Chapman and Christopher Ball. I accepted Chapman's and rejected the rest. I'm currently selling out shows at the Windsor Hall Arena with crowds of 300 but we really need to push for a bigger arena so we can get out of our current debt. I've had to temporarily turn off all the backstage stuff I turned on. </p><p> </p><p>

Marshall Lessard & Sarah Taylor both had repeats in the King of Toronto & Women Wrestling Classic tournaments. Lessard defeated best friend Sarah Taylor while Taylor beat Natalie Coleman to win their respective tournaments. Lessard, Taylor & Coleman all appear on my Showstoppers / Ring Generals list now. </p><p> </p><p>

I haven't totally decided how I'll approach 2020 but I know who I have in mind to take Gloria's belt after she gets through Juliette & Nami (who will go on brief streaks over the top roster members).</p><p> </p><p>

Top 10 matches of the year:</p><p> </p><p>

Quite a bit of good matches this year that helped us finish 2nd a couple of times in the regional battles. Taylor beat Glory in the semi-finals of the King of Toronto to top off the year. Best of the Best is the team of best friends Sarah Taylor & Marshall Lessard. </p><p> </p><p>

Not a big fan. Didn't matter also since I already have 100 in both.</p><p> </p><p>

EDIT: No huge progress this year and we're in debt at around -15K</p>

And I've made it past 2020, making this the farthest I've ever gotten in TEW. Just 45 more years to hitting the 50 year landmark.

All the top rows besides Brawling continue to go up a tad. Safety climbs by 5. Consistency by 4. Selling by 1. Microphone is up by 7. Acting spiked up by 14. And that's about it for changes besides Rep & Respect.

A lot of departures this year. Christopher Ball our very first signing after we had our starting roster, quit. Rina Kasahara finished her excursion. Purple Rain quit. And one of our originals, Hawkeye Calhoun quit. All the quittings were as a result of refuse pay raises. There are about three people who REALLY warrant a pay raise but they're extremely happy and get praised for being the best performers all the time that them not getting pay raises doesn't drive them to quitting. Gloria may be on her way out too. It's sad to see them go though.

I signed a Japanese Kansuke Konda regen called Atasuke Miyazaki who is the first man to pop up on my NBT, and a TCW grad called Mario Molina. I intend on having Molina undergo a 1K losing streak because itll be fun.

So changes in the ladder. Lessard moves up to 3rd. Texas Hangman & Ikuko Matsumoto move up past Tsunami. Gypsy Rose passed Erickson.

  1. Glorious Gloria - D - (58-1-32)
  2. Jesus Glory - C+ - (56-2-38)
  3. Marshall Lessard - C- - (54-1-21)
  4. Nathan Coleman - D- - (51-0-42)
  5. Sarah Taylor - C- - (45-1-21)
  6. Natalie Coleman - D+ - (41-0-22)
  7. Marie Punnen - D+ - (39-0-22)
  8. Golden Eye - D+ - (34-0-20)
  9. Nami Genda - D- - (29-0-35)
  10. Nova - C- - (28-0-16)
  11. Juliette King - D- - (20-0-34)
  12. Ikuko Matsumoto - C+ - (19-0-14)
  13. Texas Hangman - D- - (13-0-26)
  14. Tsunami - E+ - (12-0-43)
  15. Gypsy Rose - E - (9-0-47)
  16. Eric Erickson - E+ - (9-0-43)
  17. Marcos Caballero - E - (2-0-44)
  18. Yumiko Mochizuki - E - (2-0-28)
  19. Atasuke Miyazaki - E - (0-0-11)
  20. Mario Molina - E - (0-0-9)

We had a ton more 'titles' this year. Firstly, the EVOLVE Tag Team championship were activated during out Tag Team tournament called the Super Showdown Series. Nathan Coleman and Natalie Coleman, the father/daughter kayfabe tag team, won by beating best friends Marshall Lessard & Sarah Taylor. They've gone on to have 8 successful title defenses across the year.

Marshall Lessard finally took the crown from Glorious Gloria after 14 successful defenses. He's had 13 defenses for the rest of the year. He won it during the Gauntlet series first match and successfully defended it in the subsequent 4 matches to win the Gauntlet Series itself.

Lessard opted to defend his title during the inaugural yearly Battle Royal.

Jesus Glory won the Gold Rush, a MITB-esque match his subsequent challenge to Lessard in an Iron Man match ended in failure.

Nami Genda won the Survival of the Fittest match at the start of the year but failed to beat Gloria in her challenge. It's still her first trophy/title of any sort so good on her.

Ikuko Matsumoto had a MONSTER year and became easily the best worker in the company. She won the Women Wrestling Classic, and went to the finals of King of Toronto against my UC Jesus Glory, in a B- rated match, our best match ever. She actually has Excellent Chemistry with my UC so they're pretty much bound for a tag team title reign next.

We actually started to become a profitable company. Usually, October TANKS our finances because we have 4 shows (1 road to for Women tournament, 2 road to for King of Toronto) but we reached the breaking point where being in a 300 arena wasn't wise anymore and we basically sky rocketed since then. Ikuko main eventing often and Lessard finding his rhythm again certainly helped.

2020 looked rocky at the start but it really turned around and I think we'll be having smooth rides up until Cult. 2021 should be the year we hit regional. We'll be running 2 events a month next year. We could 100% run more events than that but I dont want to slow the game down TOO drastically just yet. Once we're safely into regional, we'll have to start building our pop in 3 other Canadian regions for our first TV deal. But for now, lets focus on getting regional.

Top 10 Matches of the Year:

ffcb87623d1840a888804fed7a7ca2c3.png

Last year we had a single match over C-, this year, not a single C-. Feels good.

Award Season:

Wrestler: Rich Money (USPW) 1X - He entered TD this year, USPW wins it again. Still, 45 years old is impressive.

Company: PGHW (PGHW) 4X - Fourth straight but with USPW now National in Japan and WLW/BHOTWG hitting National there too, this may be the beginning of the end for them.

Team: Jim Force & Nicky Champion (USPW) 1X - Force is 46 y/o and just entering TD.

Match: El Leon vs. Xtinction (SOTBPW)

Show: USPW Born in the USA! (USPW) - USPW breaks PGHW's streak

Young: David Stone (NOTBPW) 2X - Back to back

Veteran: Yoshimi Mushashibo (PGHW) 2X

Female: Amber Allen (NOTBPW) 1X

Most Improved Company: USPW (USPW) 1X - Reached International. Are now National everywhere but Australia, only a matter of time

Independent Wrestler: Sammy Smokes 1X - got let go by SWF. Never heard of him so thought he was a regen.

Manager: Dawn Gemmell (USPW) 5X - Four time repeat

Announcer: Duane Fry (SWF) 8X - Mhmm.

Color Commentator: Emma Chase (SWF) 8X - 5 year streak

Referee: Jay Fair (MAW & CZCW) 1X - Awesome

Top 5 Companies are: USPW, 21CW, SWF, SOTBPW, TCW. USPW are now international and National everywhere but Australia. SWF still beating them in NB in US/Canada/Mexico and just signed Tommy Cornell who hasnt hit TD. 21CW are cult thanks to USPW. SOTBPW are cult now thanks to USPW/SWF (El Fuerza is USPW's biggest star). TCW got a glimpse at National but stick to Cult. WLW got a glimpse at National but fell back to cult since BHOTWG had just got back to National (still are), and PGHW/USPW were camped there. USPW is bound to drive PGHW/BHOTWG to cult.

Dead Companies are: 5 Star Supreme Wrestling died after BHOTWG bought them in January, Mexican Hardcore Wrestling went bankrupt in February.

New companies are: Scorpion Wrestling Association opened in September as Regional in West Central (Mexico), World Class League of Wrestling opened in February as Small in Hokkaido (Japan)

Retirements: Steve DeColt retires, James Justice retires who was inducted into TCW Hall of Fame, Eisaku Hoshino who was inducted into PGHW Hall of Fame, Masked Mauler who was inducted with Rick Sanders into NYCW Hall of Fame, Steve Flash who was inducted into NYCW Hall of Fame, Tomoko Nagatsuka who was inducted into 5SSW Hall of Fame, Brent Hill who was inducted into TCW Hall of Fame, Gareth Wayne who was inducted into WEXXV Hall of Fame

Deaths: Dread passed away, Troy Tornado was tragically gunned down by a SWAT team at 43 years old. He had been working for SWF and had a year-plus NA title reign with 17 defenses. He was having the best year of his career since 2016.

Ikuko Matsumoto's INSANE year at EVOLVE got her #463, one of the first two wrestlers to ever make it on Power 500. My UC joined her at #475. Proud of the two. Hope more wrestlers make it in 2021.

50. "Keeping It In The Family" Create a younger sibling wrestler aged 17 (same 750 skill point split). If you are over 32 treat this as a son/daughter.

WOOOOOOOOOOO. Hopefully James Glory (brother of Jesus) develops better.

0f16ae0163c2c77da23687c7d50b4030.png

I actually will not sign James Glory for now. That 400$ salary is too much. I'm a cheap man. If you want more money. Work elsewhere.

Anyways. Road to regional now. And to the year 2066.

Try running pre and post show angles to increase your Entertainment skills (Acting, Charisma and Microphone). If you have a good entertainer (say, Garry The Entertainer) it should be pretty each to hit A within a few years.

Of course, if you have low potential/low cap, it won't help. We're allowed to set our potential at Excellent for the challenge, and usually this means your character isn't going to have a cap on any skill. But if it's set to random, you could have hit your cap.

I always try to build tag experience -- it's a great way to get a really good match out of less than stellar performer. Bonus point if you have chemistry too -- I know in many RW mods famous teams are preset to have good chemistry and many start with high experience. There are a couple A* in the CVerse -- like The Ring Generals -- that could be optimal opponents. The tag experience bonus could mean the difference in a regional battle early on.

I know a lot of you guys like taking over companies, and a lot of you guys who play Road to Glory rely on this to gain popularity.

When taking over a company, and a TV Show, make sure the TV Show is an "A" show. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with a "B" TV Show, since [i think] the company automatically inherits the contract too.

I lost about 100,000+ due to this mistake. The good news is, that I'm at high regional, and I make that in about a month. The bad news is that I'm not in the financial shape I should be when I hit Cult.

Anyway, "The Worm" is doing extremely well. He's exceeded all expectations as a Rookie. With the right luck, I could finish this in around three years, and threaten the current record.

While my save probably isn't eligible [since my character started at age 26], it can be replicated by an eligible save pretty easily. There are some things I also didn't take advantage of early on or consistently enough.

Also, I entered the edit company screen once to change my company logo. Nothing on screen was useful, but there was enough to disqualify me.

I'll post a brief summary along with my guide once I'm done. I will include some potential future rule changes that may improve the challenge -- primarily, they'll be concerned with mod use.

[Golden Era is the perfect mod to start your character in]

When the game first came out and the financials were extremely tough, it was a pretty solid challenge, but everyone has pretty much unearthed that spamming shows pretty much makes this a walk in the park in any mod. </p><p> </p><p> If anyone is legitimately SERIOUS about speedrunning an RTG, I cannot see why they wouldnt just have a show literally every day, once someone reveals how long it took them to get the challenge done doing that, I think it'll be pretty interesting to see if anyone can top it because itll thereafter comedown to the minutae of where are you located and how are your stats distributed, but then if someone uses different mods, the challenge/records aspect becomes even more irrelevant.</p><p> </p><p> I would love to see someone do a local to global solely using their own academy graduates as wrestlers, that would be an interesting challenge that couldnt be beaten with just show spamming (the SQ of NB would eventually prove a roadblock if you dont have the right grads so rushing without the tools to win NB would be pointless).</p>

For an experienced player, even in TEW 16, there isn't any need to change the settings -- even the most difficult outcomes can be achieved rather easily. But to someone fairly new, TEW looks very difficult, and without solidly grasping the basics, it's easy to struggle. </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41290" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>If anyone is legitimately SERIOUS about speedrunning an RTG, I cannot see why they wouldnt just have a show literally every day, once someone reveals how long it took them to get the challenge done doing that, I think it'll be pretty interesting to see if anyone can top it because itll thereafter comedown to the minutae of where are you located and how are your stats distributed, but then if someone uses different mods, the challenge/records aspect becomes even more irrelevant.<p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> In general, this isn't just true for RTG, but for most companies. Maybe not a show every day, because you'll start to run out of matchups, but three-four a week is ideal. </p><p> </p><p> The RTG challenge can shine light on the game mechanics. As the UC and the head booker, you have access to parts of the game easily overlooked. It's a great way to improve your skill at the game.</p>

The major problem for that challenge will be figuring out how to avoid losing popularity due to small roster size. It'll take at least a couple years to reach the level needed for a small company. </p><p> </p><p> Is there a way to turn those off in the editor?</p>
