Angle: Arn announces Best of Three Series (67)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Arn%20Anderson%207_zpsdhxshxhj.jpg

The show opens with Arn Anderson in Shane McMahon’s office. The Enforcer explains WarGames’ rules in brief — two men begin, another enters after an interval, creating a short-term numbers advantage, followed by another from the opposing team to even it out. This continues until all eight men have entered, at which point the match can only end in submission. He announces a best of three series will be held tonight to determine who gets this advantage: “May the best team win.”

WCW Television Championship: Christopher Daniels © vs Steve Corino - 14:00 (68)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Christopher%20Daniels_zpsp95iqwhj.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/tvtitlefinal_zpsq3efw1na.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Steve%20Corino_zpsygtipuas.jpg

Corino comes out with Crowbar and Daffney, but orders them to go to the back, saying he wants to do this alone. He takes the fight to Daniels, and the two have a back-and-forth technical encounter. He nails Daniels with the Old School Expulsion neckbreaker-slam, but Mitchell sneakily puts his client’s foot on the ropes. Corino complains to the referee about the interference, allowing Daniels to blindside him and hit the Angel’s Wings. Corino remains down in the middle of the ring afterwards, clutching his head as the referee makes the dreaded ‘X’ signal with his arms.

Winner: Still WCW Television Champion, Christopher Daniels

Best of Three Series: Chuck Palumbo vs Dean Malenko - 16:00 (77)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chuck%20Palumbo_zpsycvvshzr.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Dean%20Malenko_zpsxxurrxce.jpg

Both men are out alone, and Malenko outsmarts and outclasses Palumbo in the early going, wearing him down with armbars and chinlocks. The fight spills to the outside after a brief Palumbo comeback, but Malenko manages to slam the vulnerable arm against the ringpost. Clutching his bad arm, Palumbo tries to stagger back to his feet, but is unable to make the count of ten, rolling back into the ring a moment too late.

Winner: Dean Malenko (by count-out)

Angle: Chavo & Kidman brawl backstage, separated by security (61)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chavo%20Guerrero%20Jr_zpseehinxo8.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/BillyKidmankyky_zpsv3ejofoa.jpg

Cameras cut backstage, where Kidman is assaulting Chavo Guerrero Jr. in a corridor. Kidman is visibly limping, his leg taped up, but he seems to ignore the pain as he bounces Chavo off the wall and leaves him laying. Kidman picks up the Cruiserweight championship and stares intently at it, then simply drops it on Chavo’s chest: “I’m taking it this Sunday at Fall Brawl.”

Hugh Morrus & Jung Dragons vs Rob Van Dam & 3 Count - 10:00 (72)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Hugh%20Morrus_zpsmc2y7azt.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Kaz%20Hayashi_zps768fz2pd.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Yun%20Yang_zpswvffbmnj.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Yoshihiro%20Tajiri_zpshti5ou0b.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Rob%20Van%20Dam_zpsmhyyegx2.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shane%20Helms_zpsa1omucvp.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shannon%20Moore_zps2iykwdl6.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Evan%20Karagias_zpsiamkvklt.jpg

RVD and Morrus start things off, but Van Dam quickly tags out to Karagias, not wanting a piece of the big man. 3 Count bump all over the place for Morrus’ power moves, but Van Dam connects out of nowhere with a diving kick and the heels turn the match around. The Jung Dragons wipe 3 Count out at ringside with triple dives, leaving Morrus and RVD all alone — Van Dam wriggles out of a running powerslam and cradles Morrus, getting the pin with a handful of tights.

Winner: Rob Van Dam & 3 Count

Angle: Raven’s Nest (100)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpg

Raven is out for his talk-show, but seems in no mood to cut a promo. He tosses the furniture to one side, clearing some space in the ring, before calling out Kanyon: “Alright, enough is enough. No tricks, no disguises, you have me right where you want me, Chris. Why wait for Sunday?” Kanyon’s music plays, and Raven tenses up… before breaking down into hysterical laughter as nobody shows. “No, Chris isn’t here tonight — he’s been barred from the building by Arn Anderson, for his own safety.”

“After last week, he’s afraid we might kill each other before Fall Brawl, and by God, he’s half right. When I finally get my hands on Chris Kanyon in a twenty-by-twenty foot ring, I’m going to victimise him. It’s going to be bloody, it’s going to be painful, and it’s going to be very, very uncomfortable viewing. But I have all this anger, frustration and hatred bubbling inside me, and I have to take it out on somebody… so who better than Kanyon? Quote the Raven nevermore.” He poses with arms spread wide to end the segment.

Best of Three Series: Diamond Dallas Page vs Eddy Guerrero - 20:00 (78)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Diamond%20Dallas%20Page_zpsfca71kzu.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Eddy%20Guerrero_zpsdxzst5kp.jpg

The two lock-up, and DDP hits a Diamond Cutter out of nowhere! A dumbstruck Eddy manages to roll outside, reeling from the impact. The two brawl at ringside, with Guerrero fleeing and trying to get counted out — but DDP rolls him back into the ring and continues the beatdown. Eddy eventually turns the tables and begins dissecting Page with a series of suplexes and stiff forearms, but gets overconfident and falls prey to a second Diamond Cutter. Mike Tenay notes that DDP has a pinfall victory over the United States Champion, and suggests this has to move him into title contention after Fall Brawl.

Winner: Diamond Dallas Page

Booker T hypes up team (84)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Diamond%20Dallas%20Page_zpsfca71kzu.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chuck%20Palumbo_zpsycvvshzr.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Sean%20OHaire_zpseth8qhqk.jpg

DDP arrives backstage in the Team WCW locker-room, with Booker slapping him on the chest and congratulating him. Palumbo is sat slumped with a bag of ice on his arm, brooding over his earlier loss, but O’Haire nods confidently: “We’re tied, now it’s time for a break that tie and kick some ass.” Booker and DDP cheer him on, while Palumbo gives him a sullen expression from the corner of the screen.

Best of Three Series: Sean O’Haire vs Perry Saturn - 16:00 (80)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Sean%20OHaire_zpseth8qhqk.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Perry%20Saturn_zps4q1oq0yk.jpg

O’Haire is pumped up, and dominates the beginning of the match with a succession of power moves and hard-hitting strikes. Saturn takes over with a knee to the gut and begins working on the mid-section with an extended abdominal stretch. With the crowd behind him, O’Haire rallies out of the stretch and makes a comeback, but as he hits the ropes for a huge lariat, somehow trips and falls! Saturn capitalises on the stumble and hits the Moss-Covered Three-Handled Family Gradunza for the win! After the pinfall is counted, a smarmy Malenko sneaks out from under the ring, leading Tenay to exclaim that he must have tripped O’Haire!

Winner: Perry Saturn, Radicalz & Giant win Man Advantage

Angle: Show-closing brawl (100)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Perry%20Saturn_zps4q1oq0yk.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Dean%20Malenko_zpsxxurrxce.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Sean%20OHaire_zpseth8qhqk.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Eddy%20Guerrero_zpsdxzst5kp.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Diamond%20Dallas%20Page_zpsfca71kzu.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpg

Malenko and Saturn put the boots to O’Haire when Palumbo runs down to even the odds! Eddy Guerrero runs through the crowd to turn the tide back towards the Radicalz, but DDP and Booker T run down the aisle and the babyfaces run wild! The Radicalz spill to the outside as Team WCW stand tall, but Eddy screams at them: “You just wait until we got the Giant, man! Then it’s game over, esse!”

Weekly Update - Week 4, September 2001 (Late Update):

Steve Corino suffered a fractured skull during his match with Christopher Daniels on WCW Saturday Night, and is expected to be out for around a month. There is heat on Daniels for the injury, and it’s possible this could derail his push.

Angle: WarGames opening package (87)

The camera sweeps through a post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with rubble, as we see clips of the various members of Team WCW, the Radicalz and the Giant brawling, along with glimpses of past WarGames matches. Echoing soundbites from Arn Anderson are heard throughout: “Locked in a steel cage… you will fight and you will bleed… you will survive or you will surrender… may God have mercy on you all.”

WCW Television Championship: Christopher Daniels © vs Crowbar - 16:00 (64)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Christopher%20Daniels_zpsp95iqwhj.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/tvtitlefinal_zpsq3efw1na.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Crowbar_zps6tk65odi.jpg

Crowbar seems livid in the early going, getting some revenge for Steve Corino’s injury by beating Daniels from pillar to post all the way around ringside, Daffney cheering him on. Daniels grabs the Television title and attempts to walk out, but Crowbar grabs him and throws him back into the ring. The match becomes more even, but towards the end Crowbar is about to nail Daniels with the Mindbender when two towering men in black hoodies come through the crowd and grab Daffney. Crowbar is distracted, and Daniels nails him from behind and hits the Angel’s Wings.

The two men remove their hoodies to reveal… Johnny the Bull and Reno! They double-team Crowbar and Daffney, beating them down while Christopher Daniels fetches his Television title from ringside. As Bull and Reno hold each up, Daniels decks Crowbar then Daffney with the title belt, standing victorious. James Mitchell grabs the microphone: “Look at these men. These men are now a beautiful part of my Family. The Bull, the scourge of Little Italy, Manhattan. Reno, a badass from the fighting rings of Sin City. Chewed up and spat out by society, doing whatever it takes to survive. You created us, and from the underworld of the American Dream arises a terrible nightmare: The Sindicate has arrived.”

Before the match, 3 Count begin their song and dance routine, but Helms orders production to cut the music: “These losers don’t deserve to hear us sing.” 3 Count show a more serious side early on, isolating and wearing down Hayashi with frequent tags. Kaz manages to reach Yang, whose comeback is quickly cut short but 3 Count — with the crowd firmly behind him, Yang makes the hot tag to Tajiri, who clears house on all three men and tosses Karagias outside onto Moore, who barely catches him. Tajiri finishes off Helms with the Buzzsaw Kick for the victory.

Gene Okerlund is with Booker T, DDP and the Natural Born Thrillers, who are full of adrenaline and pumped up for their match tonight. Booker T exclaims: “You want to come into WCW and screw with us, run-in on matches and beat us down? Well tonight, it’s WarGames, and you’re gonna get a special WCW-brand ass-whooping! Now can you dig that, Sucka?!” DDP leans into the camera and adds: “BANG!”

Angle: Special RVD entrance (84)

Rob Van Dam makes his way down to the ring, with special pyro — spinning pinwheel fireworks flash brightly in white and black, mimicking the yin and yang motif on his singlet. He shrugs immodestly at the spectacle, pointing to himself with his thumbs as the ring announcer says his name: “Rob… Van… Dam!”

Rob Van Dam vs Hugh Morrus - 22:00 (79)

RVD is in a laid-back mood, toying around with Morrus early and showboating. This only infuriates the big man, who cuts Van Dam off with a succession of devastating slams and strikes. In the end, Morrus goes up top for the big moonsault, but RVD rolls out of the way before he’s crushed! He springs up top with haste and hits the Five Star Frog Splash to Morrus, securing the pinfall.

Angle: Radicalz/Giant promo (90)

Gene Okerlund is with the Radicalz, and he asks: “You’re all here, but where’s the Giant?” On cue, the Giant walks into frame, towering over Okerlund and growls: “You wanted to see me, Mean Gene?” He simply shoves Okerlund out of view, and Eddy cuts a promo directly to the camera: “WCW, man… WCW sucks! We’ve won all your little belts, and tonight… we’re gonna win your little match. WarGames? Don’t make me laugh, esse.”

Angle: Chavo/Kidman hype package (60)

A short video package focusing on Chavo stealing then winning the Cruiserweight Championship, along with Kidman’s injured leg letting him down at each turn.

WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Chavo Guerrero Jr. © vs Billy Kidman - 20:00 (76)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chavo%20Guerrero%20Jr_zpseehinxo8.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwcw_zpswnxbhxzs.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/BillyKidmankyky_zpsv3ejofoa.jpg

Kidman’s leg is taped up beneath his jean-shorts, and Chavo immediately goes after the vulnerable limb. After unsuccessfully trying to shake him off, Kidman is forced to endure the agony of Chavo’s submissions and strikes, as he wears down the injured body part. Chavo eventually locks in the Lasso from El Paso in the centre of the ring, and like before, Kidman has nowhere to go and seems on the verge of submitting. With a final last burst of willpower, Billy crawls to the ropes desperately to break the hold! Chavo tries to drag him right back into the middle of the ring to reapply the Lasso, but Kidman is able to small-package him for the shock victory!

Winner: New WCW Cruiserweight Champion, Billy Kidman

Angle: Raven & Kanyon package (75)

The hype package focuses on Raven and Kanyon’s friendship, before showing Raven’s betrayal and Kanyon in the hospital. It climaxes with shots of their wild brawls in recent weeks.

Raven vs Kanyon - 24:00 (79)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chris%20Kanyon_zps4weplurp.jpg

Kanyon is out first and pissed off. As Raven makes his entrance, Kanyon rolls outside and they begin brawling on the ramp! The battle goes all around ringside, with Kanyon throwing Raven into the timekeeper’s area and busting him open with a shot from the ring-bell. Raven flees into the ring, and when Kanyon follows, the referee is finally able to start the match.

The two have a back-and-forth brutal brawl, with both starting out full of energy but eventually wearing each other out until they’re trading slow, sluggish punches on their knees. Kanyon begins running on adrenaline, hitting Raven with a succession of big moves then going for a Flatliner, which Raven reverses into a desperation Evenflow DDT! Raven goes for the delayed cover, and while Kanyon kicks out at 2 and a half, referee Nick Patrick counts the three and awards the match to Raven!

Winner: Raven

Angle: Raven tries to finish Kanyon off (76)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chris%20Kanyon_zps4weplurp.jpg

Mike Tenay is furious on commentary, noting Nick Patrick’s past as a crooked ref in the pocket of the nWo. Heenan shrugs, saying Patrick mustn’t have seen the kick-out and that mistakes happen. A weary Raven slides out of the ring to grab a chair, but upon entering the ring, Kanyon gets to his feet and dodges the chair-shot! He sends Raven packing with a clothesline out of the ring, before collapsing in the ropes. As Raven retreats up the ramp, Kanyon promises: “This isn’t over. Not even close.”

Angle: WarGames Preamble (100)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/MichaelBufferkyky_zpsvtlcgz8g.jpg

The double-cage of WarGames lowers from the arena’s ceiling, with fireworks going off as the rules of WarGames are displayed on screen. The returning Michael Buffer is at ringside, and does his trademark spiel: “Tonight at WCW Fall Brawl 2001, we are about to witness an event like no other in the annals of professional wrestling, WarGames. The only means of victory is to make your opponent submit or surrender within the confines of the steel combat-zone."

"This bout pits the invading Radicalz and the gargantuan Giant against Team WCW, captained by the Heavyweight Champion of the World, Booker T — which team will triumph, or indeed will we witness mutually-assured destruction? So, are you ready? Wrestling fans, are you rrrrrrrreeeeady? For the thousands in attendance, and the millions watching around the world, ladies and gentlemen, LLLLLLLET’S GET RRRRREADY TO RUUUUMBLLLLLE!” He continues to announce each of the eight competitors as they make their way to ringside, with both teams huddling in their respective corners to discuss strategy.

WarGames: The Giant & The Radicalz (Eddy Guerrero, Perry Saturn & Dean Malenko) vs Team WCW (Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page & Natural Born Thrillers) - 30:00 (90)

Dean Malenko and Booker T start the match, with Booker getting the advantage early. Booker bounces his opponent around the cage, and Malenko is already bleeding from the forehead. Saturn enters after five minutes, with the two beating down on Booker, but Chuck Palumbo enters to even the odds. Eddy is in two minutes later to make it three versus two, and immediately goes after Palumbo’s bandaged arm, smashing it against the cage. O’Haire is in next, and the fresh man throws the Radicalz around — Eddy takes a bump off the cage and is gushing blood!

Finally, the Giant enters as the last member of his team, and dominates all three babyfaces by himself, the three Radicalz laying in pools of blood. DDP gets a huge ovation as he enters last, and the Match Beyond begins as he squares off with Giant, finally managing to get the big man off his feet. Page is cut off by Guerrero, who bites him in the forehead to draw blood. With Giant dominating once again, Malenko and Saturn busy themselves taking apart the top turnbuckle, the upper ring ropes slumping onto the canvas. Giant plays defence, keeping O’Haire and Booker at bay — while in the corner of the ring, Saturn grabs Palumbo in a chokehold, and Malenko drives the steel turnbuckle hard into Chuck’s injured arm, stabbing and grinding it until he’s forced to surrender.

Winner: The Giant & The Radicalz

Palumbo immediately collapses after surrendering, the injured arm completely limp. Saturn and Malenko help Eddy to his feet — Guerrero’s whole face is covered in a crimson mask of his own blood. As the bloodied Radicalz limp out, Giant puts a punctuation mark on the victory by nailing O’Haire, Booker and DDP with chokeslams, leaving the entirety of Team WCW laid out as the broadcast ends.

Weekly News:

The latest developmental call-up is Flash Flanagan, a bland if polished high-flier who has spent the better part of the last five years in the WWF farm leagues. The feeling internally is that he has improved about as much as he ever will, and that he should be given a chance to sink or swim rather than be cut loose.

The current developmental system has been split between Ohio Valley Wrestling and Heartland Wrestling Association, after the termination of relations with Memphis Championship Wrestling. We’re being told that a more long-term restructuring is coming in the next few weeks, which could lead to several developmental talents being released, others repackaged, and a number of new signings from the independent scene.

If you haven’t noticed from TV, the Giant is being booked as an unstoppable monster and is expected to receive heavy protection — so don’t expect him laying down for pinfall losses anytime soon. The feeling amongst WCW brass is that WWF have mishandled the former Big Show in his stint there, and that the fresh beginning in a new promotion is an opportunity to undo the damage caused by being a glorified midcarder for much of his WWF tenure.

The Giant and the Radicalz are out to start things off, and are in a jubilant mood after their victory in WarGames. “Arn Anderson, you stupid old man,” the Giant roars, “we entered WarGames and we didn’t just survive, we -thrived-. Now what are you gonna do, huh?” The five of them wait on Anderson, but instead Shane McMahon’s music plays! The owner of WCW walks out a little gamely, still smarting from the beating Giant gave him at Road Wild.

“I tell you what -I’m- going to do. I run this place, so I’m gonna book some matches for our next pay-per-view event, Halloween Havoc. Eddy Guerrero, you will defend the United States Championship against the man who pinned you last week, Diamond Dallas Page! And Dean and Perry, KroniK will get another shot at the World Tag Team Championships after you got yourselves intentionally disqualified three weeks ago.” The Radicalz cockily shrug these announcements off. “But there is another match — at Halloween Havoc, I’m announcing the Giant versus… Shane McMahon.”

Giant does a double-take, then breaks into hysterical laughter: “You? You’re gonna fight me — are you crazy? Hahaha!” Shane stares him down: “I’m a McMahon, damnit — when you pick a fight with me, when you beat my ass, I’m gonna make sure you live to regret it. I know we don’t like to talk about the competition, but in April on pay-per-view you thought you could beat me — and whose hand was raised then?” Giant just continues to guffaw, slapping his knee as he tells Malenko incredulously: “He’s actually serious! He’s not kidding.”

WCW Television Championship: Christopher Daniels vs The Funkster - 8:00 (64)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Christopher%20Daniels_zpsp95iqwhj.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/tvtitlefinal_zpsq3efw1na.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/The%20Funkster_zpsc5xe3c5w.jpg

Daniels is accompanied to the ring by James Mitchell and the Sindicate, Johnny the Bull and Reno. Funkster is all fun and games to begin with, ripping his shirt and posing down before the match. Daniels quickly dissects his opponent, taking him down with stiff suplexes. Funkster makes a small comeback, hulking up and throwing a series of punches and the big boot, but misses an Atomic Leg Drop and lands hard on his tailbone. Daniels takes over and hits the Angel’s Wings for the comfortable win.

Winner: Still WCW Television Champion, Christopher Daniels

Angle: The Wages of Sin (55)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Christopher%20Daniels_zpsp95iqwhj.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/James%20Vandenburg_zpsy7ecbgvp.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Johnny%20Stamboli_zpsecufs3bv.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Reno_zpsdn4jocgw.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/The%20Funkster_zpsc5xe3c5w.jpg

Daniels lounges back as Mitchell directs the Sindicate at ringside — the hulking duo enter the ring and beat down the Funkster, with Reno hitting the Roll of the Dice and Bull hitting a military-press powerslam. The trio pose with Mitchell in the centre of the ring.

Angle: Balance of Power (97)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shane%20McMahon_zpsywl3l26v.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Arn%20Anderson%207_zpsdhxshxhj.jpg

Shane McMahon is backstage in his office with Arn Anderson, and he thanks the Enforcer for doing a good job in his absence. “Thank you, Mr. McMahon,” Arn replies, “but with all due respect let me just say, I’m not sure how wise it is to pick a fight with the Giant. He’s a seven-foot tall monster in the prime of his career, and you have heart, make no mistake, but you’re not an active competitor.” Shane gives Arn a slight smile, then states: “I appreciate your concern, but this is something I need to do. It isn’t about being a competitor… it’s about being a man.”

No. 1 Contender for WCW Cruiserweight Trios Championship: XXX vs Jason Jett & Air Raid - 12:00 (61)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Elix%20Skipper_zps7ael5m7v.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Jamie%20Noble_zpsjfnva9tm.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Kid%20Romeo_zpszpshi4li.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Jason%20Jett_zps6hr24h9b.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/AJ%20Styles_zpsmzruggpb.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Air%20Paris_zpsqeeueugl.jpg

Arn Anderson rejoins commentary. All six men are hungry for the opportunity, with the match featuring dazzling aerial offense from Jett and Air Raid, and aggressive brawling from XXX. Jett and Romeo are legal when they begin brawling outside, with Knoble and Skipper joining the fray for the unfair advantage. Paris tries to even things up, but nobody notices Air Styles hit a spectacular springboard 450 splash to the outside, wiping out all six men. Still on the ground in a pile of bodies, Romeo and Jett are unable to answer the count of ten and are counted out.

Winner: Draw (double count-out)

Angle: It’s About Dam Time (98)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Rob%20Van%20Dam_zpsmhyyegx2.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpg

Rob Van Dam is in the ring, and explains that he’s a one-of-a-kind athlete who has been racking wins in WCW. “Last night, I won yet again when I put down Hugh Morrus. Meanwhile, the so-called World Champion’s busy -losing- in WarGames. What kind of federation are you running here, Shane, with losers as champion while winners spin their wheels? I should be No. 1 Contender, it’s not even close, man.”

Booker T’s music hits and the WCW Champion strides down to ringside, clearly in a bad mood. “Yeah, you right. You won last night, and I didn’t. But when it comes to laying this Big Gold belt on the line, ain’t -nobody- better or badder than Booker T. If you want a shot, I tell you what, let’s make it happen — at Halloween Havoc, I’ll shut you up and wipe that smirk off your face for good, sucka.” Booker strides off again, clearly done for tonight, while RVD smugly shrugs, clearly glad to have gotten what he wanted.

Angle: Raven’s Nest (82)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chris%20Kanyon_zps4weplurp.jpg

The ring is set up for Raven’s Nest, but where’s its host? Cameras cut backstage, to where Kanyon is assaulting Raven in gorilla position: “I said I wasn’t done, you son of a bitch!” Security rushes in to separate the two, with Raven clearly glad of the distance: “It’s over, Chris! You lost last week, I won! It’s over!” Kanyon is shoved out of view by half a dozen security guards, his voice screaming distantly: “It’s not over until you’re -dead-!”

A quick and chaotic match-up, with 3 Count flying all over the place early. Helms begins to work on Crowbar in the early going, but he is able to make the hot tag to Dr. idk Dinsmore. The match breaks down with all ten men in the ring and the referee struggling to regain order. Sanders capitalises on the chaos by hitting Dinsmore with a low blow, and rolling him up in a small package for the win.

Winner: Double Trouble & 3 Count

Angle: All Alone (78)

Gene Okerlund is with Sean O’Haire, who explains that Chuck Palumbo is out with a broken arm due to the punishment he took in WarGames. Stacy Keibler interrupts, giving O’Haire a flirty look as she says: “Poor Sean, all alone… it must feel so bad to not have a -partner- to back you up should the worst happen.” On cue, O’Haire is jumped by Shawn Stasiak, David Flair and Randy Orton, with the trio putting the boots to him on the ground! Mean Gene can only scowl as Keibler and the Dynasty walk away coolly, the damage done.

Diamond Dallas Page, Billy Kidman & KroniK vs The Radicalz - 24:00 (79)

DDP and Eddy start things off with some test of strength spots, with a frustrated Eddy tagging out when Page continually gets the better of him. Things break down by the end, with Kidman wiping out KroniK, Eddy, Saturn and Malenko with a spectacular tope con hilo. Chavo is left all alone with DDP, and walks right into a Diamond Cutter! BANG! Page gets the win.

Winner: Diamond Dallas Page, Billy Kidman & KroniK

Show rating: 85
