<p>News Update - September 1995</p><p> </p><p> First of all, I just wanted to give a quick shout-out to whoever nominated and voted for me for DOTM! I appreciate grabbing a nomination, and encourage y'all to check out other stuff that won/got nominations! There's some good readin' in there! </p><p> </p><p> Anyways, I forgot to post the Main Event results from the pre-show. Zodiac was sent to Rehab, to no complaint from anyone (we’re looking at you Hogan).</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> Zodiac wasn’t the only man to get caught, as Nitro announcer Steve “Mongo” McMichael failed a hard drugs test. While he’s not an active competitor, you can’t have the man passing out on commentary, so he was given a fine. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> </span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">TRANSACTIONS:</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"> Ricky Santana signed for an exclusive deal with CMLL. <p>Week 5 is right above us, guys. A few comments here boys: </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="to4sty" data-cite="to4sty" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45641" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> For the WCW World Heavyweight Championship:</p><p> Lex Luger vs <strong>Hulk Hogan©</strong></p><p> Comments:<em>I don’t see the World Title changing hands on Nitro, not just yet anyway (99/00 Nitro and the damn thing was changing on TV weekly, sometimes twice in the space of one show) and I’m half tempted to go for a no contest after DoD interference, but let’s go with Savage somehow costing Lex</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You know, if I somehow make it to 1999 in game-time, I might just start tossing the title between everybody lol. Kinda screwing myself over predicting this early, but it's better than missing the round entirely</p>

Oooo, the plot thickens in the prediction contest!

Eddie Guerrero - I'll say that Taskmaster throws Shark his way. It will be a really big win for Eddie to knock him off.

American Males - Title change! Nitro is the show to watch for sure!

Sting - Man, another ??? ? I think this time I'll go with Arn Anderson for the mystery opponent, as Brian bows out and "Double A" takes advantage of Sting wanting to fight.

Lawler and Yankem - Bret chooses Bruce Hart to team with him, but Bruce takes the fall.

Goldust

Diesel

66 will be the number for me.

MNW - Week 6!

bj3HleE.jpgiccMDkvs.jpgdGtikhm.jpg

Week 2, October 1995

Nitro results in Blue, Raw Results in Red

Results, Matches, Angles

Q1: WE KICK OFF THE SHOW where ERIC BISCHOFF, BOBBY HEENAN and MONGO welcome us to the premier wrestling show on Monday nights! The trio talk about THE GIANT’s attack on HULK HOGAN last week, and ponder how the Hulkster will respond! - B l In a decent match, Eddie Guerrero defeated Hugh Morrus in 7:11 by pinfall with a surprise cradle. Brain quips that EDDIE might be more stupid than brave, as he kicks off Nitro to challenge anyone from the Dungeon of Doom! Eddie’s call is answered by the laughing man HUGH MORRIS. While certainly not the most elite member of the dungeon, Hugh does outweigh and overpower Eddie, but still has a surprising amount of agility for a guy his size. Eddie is tenacious, keeping his fists up and giving his all, eventually hosting Hugh into an inside cradle, grabbing the pin fall! -C+ l THE REMAINDER OF THE DUNGEON crash the ring, but Eddie is ready for it, as he slips out of the ring and up the ramp. Hugh is left cackling in fear in the mat as THE GIANT looms, but THE TASKMASTER lets this just be a warning to Morris - and tells the men to save their energy. -C+

moaI4HY.jpg?1WIQa4IS.jpg?291T1T1o.jpg?1

Q1: JERRY LAWLER IS ALREADY HAVING FUN in the ring with a live mic, talking trash to his victims in the audience, before the music of BRET HART hits! The screeching guitar stops when gets to ringside, as the music of new Raw superstar AHMED JOHNSON hits! Both Bret and Ahmed are ready, and The King doesn’t look so confident as he hides behind ISAAC YANKEM! - B- l In a decent match, Ahmed Johnson and Bret Hart defeated Jerry Lawler and Isaac Yankem DDS in 8:24 when Jerry Lawler intentionally got disqualified while fighting Bret Hart. Ahmed shows off some impressive manuevers against the vet Lawler, causing him to tag out! Yankem is able to slow down the Pearl River Powerhouse, working up to a hot tag to Bret! The Hitman is able to fire up and take the big man off his feet, but The King runs in and kicks him between the legs! A blatant DQ! The heels bail, and the faces want more! - B-

Q2: MEAN GENE’S GOT A MICROPHONE and he introduces his guests - it’s ARN ANDERSON AND RIC FLAIR! Gene asks them about their little scouting trips over the past few weeks, and Naitch pimps the luxury and lifestyle of a Horsemen. Arn is on his game for another interview, concluding by telling the folks at home that they are closer to finding their members than everyone thinks! - B- l In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Harlem Heat defeated The American Males in 9:31 when Marcus Bagwell was disqualified when we also had Col. Robert Parker ran in and attacked Stevie Ray. Harlem Heat make defence No. 3 of the WCW World Tag Team Championships. The longest match on this week’s Nitro sees THE AMERICAN MALES try to win over the crowd - and win the tag team titles. HARLEM HEAT don’t go down easy, but aren’t on their “A” game as both COL. PARKER and SHERRI romance at ringside. The Males impress by glowing blow for blow with the champs, causing Col. Parker to jump on the apron. Parker lines up for Marcus Bagwell, swings wildly with his roll of quarters, and nails… Stevie Ray!? The DQ means the champ keeps the belts, but who exactly was Parker aiming for! - C

moaI4HY.jpg?1WIQa4IS.jpg?291T1T1o.jpg?1

Q2: MICHAEL HAYES IS AGAIN RUNNINGaround backstage (keeping the Freebird in shape) catching up to GORILLA MONSON and BIG DADDY COOL. Diesel tells Gorilla that he’s tired of sitting on the sideline, he wants Camp Cornette tonight! And he’ll even put his gold on the line to get it! An increasingly frustrated Gorilla grants him his wish, and wishes him luck, before shutting the door on Hayes! - B- l SPLIT SCREEN TIME! VKM interviews the IC champ SHAWN MICHAELS! Shawn says that those powerbombs from SID really did a number on him, but he’ll be ready to go for In Your House 4 where he’ll defend his belt against Sid! Shawn warns Sid that he tries to jump him again before the Pay Per View, he’ll be ready for a fight! - B l In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Goldust defeated Duke Droese in 4:42 by pinfall with a Curtain Call. THE DUMPSTER lives up to his name, as he has little chance at victory against the debuting Goldust. The crowd isn’t quite sure of what to make of Goldust initially, but are taken someone aback by the weird behavior of the Hollywood star. After getting some silent encouragement from his blonde assistant on the outside (who Vince McMahon learns is known as MARLENA), Goldust hits a hanging neckbreaker (heralded as the Curtain Call) to grab the victory. - C

Q3: BACKSTAGE IN THE LOCKER ROOM, TONY SCHIAVONE gets a chance to interview LEX LUGER about his ruined title opportunity. Lex said he knows he will be able to get another shot, but didn’t appreciate having to still deal with the Dungeon, so he wants another go at them! MACHO MAN inserts himself into this interview, saying that he’s willing to give it a go by Lex’s side if he gives him the opportunity! Lex likes the sound of that - and shakes his hand! - B l WE’RE NEAR THE END of the show, and Gene has made his way to the ring to interview the United States champion STING! Sting wastes no time in reminding everyone that somebody wants a fight, so he calls out BRIAN PILLMAN! Pillman comes out fired up, before composing himself and saying he will not fight Sting tonight! Acting like the unpredictable Loose Cannon (new catchphrase!) he is, Pillman decides that he won’t just give everyone want they want tonight before heading to the back! A disappointed Sting said he’s ready for a fight, so consider this an open challenge… and THE GIANT and The Taskmaster head out! Gene bails, and the main is on! - B

moaI4HY.jpg?1WIQa4IS.jpg?291T1T1o.jpg?1

Q3: IT’S AN EASY WIN for Goldust, who favors his ankle as the lights begin to dim. But there’s no encore for this enigma, as DEAN DOUGLAS and BOB BACKLUND charge the ring, seeking revenge on Goldie for his actions over the past few weeks. THE 1-2-3 KID is quick to make the save, sending the heels to the back and allowing Marlena to care for Goldust. - C l OH YEAH! SPLIT SCREEN! KING MABEL is backstage, as Vince asks him about his rematch with THE UNDERTAKER at IYH4. Mabel then repeats that he shows no fear, but expresses a measure of panic when Vinnie Mac mentions that it will be a casket match! Mabel is ultra freaked when the lights go out, and Taker appears behind him! Mabel runs off as fast as he can to close the segment! - C

Q4: MAIN EVENT: In a superb match, The Giant defeated Sting in 9:05 when Sting was disqualified when Hulk Hogan ran in and attacked The Giant. The Stinger maybe should have been more specific - and asked for anyone but The Giant, because the big man dominates Sting as few other men can. Despite his inexperience, Giant controls most of the match, survives a comeback from the US Champ, and has the audience begging for the ref to end the match - the punishment is too much! This leads HULK HOGAN to run down to ringside, hesitate to get in the ring, and bravely starts to hit the Giant to stop the match! - B- l A FEW THUNDEROUS CLUBS to the back allow The Giant to realize what’s going on, as Hogan hulks up and tries to the big man off his feet. Hogan staggers him, and tries for a big slam, but gets nothing! Giant powers his way out before crushing Hogan with a Chokeslam! Hogan is down and out to close Nitro, again! - A*

moaI4HY.jpg?1WIQa4IS.jpg?291T1T1o.jpg?1

Q4: MAIN EVENT: Diesel defeated Yokozuna in 10:44 by pinfall with a Jacknife Power Bomb. Diesel makes defence number 26 of his WWF World Heavyweight Championship title. YOKOZUNA is the man to answer Diesel’s call, as the two powerhouses battled it out for the gold. Yoko is a former Heavyweight champ, and a current tag team champion, so he’s a proven challenge for Big Daddy Cool. But, an extra motivated Big Daddy Cool didn’t back down, eventually getting the pinfall victory in a short and somewhat surprisingly good match (thanks to some great chemistry). - B- l CAMP CORNETTE CRASH THE RING, but can only have their way with the champ for so long, as RAZOR RAMON runs out for the save. Cornette encourages everyone to fight later, not now, and orders his troops to retreat. As they exit the ring, Razor swings, and hits the recovering Diesel! As Diesel realizes what happened, Razor feels little sympathy, as he shrugs his shoulders and motions for the belt! - A
