Sorry for the slight delay here folks. Some visits with the family slowed me down in posting this week's War. Let's check on those comments....

Probably the best Havoc '95 you can have without monster trucks :p

Thanks Beejus, though I’m upset I didn’t have Sabu jump off a monster truck. Maybe next year...

Great job with Havoc! Very much enjoyed the show.

Thank you BigBad! I appreciate the compliment.

Great Havoc, with a few things I didn't see coming (like Johnny B Badd get the push of his life with a victory over Bubba, who was still credible enough to be getting World Title opportunities around this time....albeit on tv not PPV, but still) and the (possible?) slow heel turn of the Macho Man continues....one of these two needs to turn eventually, the face side of the main event is too stacked....that Hogan/Giant match pulled out a great grade too considering the Giant is still (game wise) a virtual no-one.....well done Orange Goblin

Thank you for the warm words to4sty - and congrats on the dynasty of the month victory! It’s true, the Orange Goblin did have his working shoes on last night, allowing me to think that this Giant/Hogan stuff may have better legs than originally intended. I will say, Giant does autopush at the beginning of the game as a main eventer, so I wouldn’t say he’s a no-one as of now.

Arn Anderson & Dean Malenko

Comments: I expect Hector to take every fall ever forever

… That’s a decent idea.

Bret Hart & Fatu vs. Jerry Lawler & Isaac Yankem, DDS

Comments: Lawler should just join commentary

Actually, King ain’t doing too bad right now. He’s in time decline, but with his chemistry with Yankem, and a feud with Bret nearing a close, I don’t think he’ll head to commentary full time yet.

Ahmed Johnson vs Sycho Sid

Comments: if you dont like Ahmed, show yourself out

Only the haters eat reefs.

Sycho Sid

Comments: Ahmed is injury prone and makes 0 sense on a mic ugh.

See this guy, this guy can eat reefs. :D

For the WWF World Heavyweight Championship

Razor Ramon© vs. The British Bulldog

Comments: Stacked Raw

Thanks Blody! I think we’re gonna have a few stacked Raws in the upcoming weeks. Before we get to next week, let’s check out the standings...

Let's check out those prediction standings:

Blodyxe(+6): 33

To4sty(+6): 30

Kijar(+3), Thebigbad1013 (+5): 28

Nobby (+6): 26

Warhawk: 18

Bonnie (+6): 15

Jaded: 8

Randy Savage - Macho definitely looks like he has a lot coming on his plate, while Hawk is looking pretty useless until Animal can come back. Which is a little sad, as Hawk with the right push could have made a strong star, but that's the problem; WCW already has huge stars, so Hawk is left in the dust beneath all the bigger stars.

Johnny B. Badd

Sting and Lex Luger - This is the stuff that fascinated me during this period of Nitro. Hogan, Savage, Sting, and Luger's storyline of everyone wondering who they can trust was a gold mine. As I said about in Neoteros's thread, that is why I always opt for the January 1996 mod if I want to play early Nitro, because I think that story was being played so well that I can't do it justice trying to replicate it. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Owen and Yoko - White Meat Babyface Squad do what they do and warm up the crowd in a losing effort.

Diesel and Ahmed - Ha... haha.

Bulldog and Jarrett - I dig the addition of Jarrett to Camp Cornette. He and Corny just seem like they play off one another well. I see them picking up a cheap win here to further us toward the big Survivor Series match.

Week 1, November 1995

Nitro results in Blue, Raw Results in Red

Results, Matches, Angles

Q1: MATCH 1: In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, Randy Savage defeated Road Warrior Hawk in 8:27 by pinfall. In-ring action kicks off Nitro again this week, as colorful good guys RANDY SAVAGE and ROAD WARRIOR HAWK do battle in a bout between babyfaces! Hawk has the advantage of being more powerful than “Macho Man”, but Savage counters with some strategic wrestling and breaks on the outside (earning a few jeers from some on the outside). Unfortunately, the pair didn’t click in their first Nitro confrontation, but the crowd was still into the contest. The finish saw Macho Man use Hawk’s own momentum against him, allowing him to crash into the turnbuckle, before soaring with an Elbow Drop to get the victory. - B- l MEAN GENE STANDS ON the entrance ramp for the first interview of the night, as he introduces LEX LUGER! Lex says that he had to go out there and let Ric know he had his eye on him last week! He was a Horseman, he knows their way, and he knows that they represent all of the things STING does not - the arrogance, the cowardice, the need to take the easy way out! Lex said he’s gonna team with Sting tonight, and be in his ear all night, to make sure he knows between right and wrong! - B+

moaI4HY.jpg?1WIQa4IS.jpg?291T1T1o.jpg?1

Q1: RAW KICKS OFF WITH A DECORATED RING, as JERRY LAWLER, flanked by ISAAC YANKEM, DDS, is in the ring to introduce his guest - BRET HART! The Hitman makes his way to the ring to the cheers of the crowd, as, while keeping a close eye on Yankem, asks The King what he wants. King says he’s here to introduce the real man of the hour - BAM BAM BIGELOW! King knows Bam Bam said he was open for business, and recruits him to be on his team at Survivor Series! King prods on, but when Bret interjects, stating that he knows a guy like Bam Bam is too great to be hanging around with the likes of Lawler. Yankem and Lawler proceed to begin beating down Bret for his disrespect, but when they call on Bam Bam to help, he clears the ring! Lawler recruited somebody - but it’s Bam Bam to the other side! - B+ l WE’RE GETTING SPLIT SCREEN early, baby! JIM CORNETTE stands in the back, and formally welcomes JEFF JARRETT to his Survivor Series team! Jeff Jarrett says he was sick off being passed over by the GORILLA MONSOON administration, and now he’s happy to join the team that respects him as a wrestler, and the team that will bring new blood to the top! - C+

Q2: WE CUT BACKSTAGE to see TONY SCHIAVONE with a microphone and his two guests EDDIE and CHAVO GUERRERO! Chavo says that they don’t want to sound like a broken record - but they aren’t done with the Dungeon yet! Eddie issues the challenge: Eddie and Chavo vs two of the Dungeon, next week on Nitro, and to put icing on the cake, he’ll put his job in WCW on the line! All in, next week on Nitro! - C- l Match 2: In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Johnny B. Badd defeated Sgt. Craig Pittman in 5:38 by pinfall with a Shooting Star Press. Johnny B. Badd makes defence number 6 of his WCW World Television Championship title. Pittman hasn’t really impressed too much on Saturday Nights, and is off his game in his biggest opportunity yet, as he went one on one with Johnny B. Badd with the TV belt on the line! This isn’t a long contest, as it serves mostly as an enhancement for the increasingly popular Johnny B. Badd! One impressive Shooting Star Press later and the champ defends his gold. - C+ l BADD IS HANDED HIS GOLD, but can barely react to his successful defence, as a disco ball drops - and the trumpets blare… it’s DISCO INFERNO. Badd is left befuddled in the ring, as Disco simply boogies on the entrance ramp. He’s so cocky, he’s so cool, he’s just a disco dancing fool! - C+

moaI4HY.jpg?1WIQa4IS.jpg?291T1T1o.jpg?1

Q2: MATCH 1: In a decent match, Owen Hart & Yokozuna defeated Marty Jannetty and Savio Vega in 7:30 when Owen Hart defeated Marty Jannetty by pinfall by using underhanded tactics. During the match we also had Jim Cornette distract Jannetty. Owen Hart & Yokozuna make defence number 26 of their WWF World Tag Team Championship titles. Marty and Savio have been on a roll the past few months, and their victories and chemistry have earned them the nod against Owen Hart and Yokozuna for the tag team gold! The babyfaces spend most of the match trying to convince the crowd that they may be able to pull it off, but not a lot of folks are buying it. A roll-up with some tights from Owen gets the job for the Camp Cornette members, as they take care of another team. - B- l MORE SPLIT SCREEN? Heck yeah! Women’s Champion ALUNDRA BLAYZE has two points for her rival SUNNY! First, she challenges Sunny to find herself a Survivor Series team, and wants two of her girls (BERTHA FAYE and LUNA VACHON) on Superstars! Her partner? Don’t worry - she has one ready! - D+

Q3: WE’RE BACKSTAGE AGAIN, but this time it’s MIKE TENAY standing by with REY MYSTERIO, JR. Rey is excited to say he makes his Nitro in-ring debut next week, and he wants to bring the best out of DEAN MALENKO! He’s looking forward to the tough challenge next week! - D l MEAN GENE IS IN THE RING this time, with the associate of HULK HOGAN, JIMMY HART! Jimmy squeeks his way through a promo (baby), and announces the Hulkster is well on his way to recovery! He should be able to make an appearance on Nitro next week! Hart is then interrupted by the man who opened the show with a win, Randy Savage! Savage again voices his desire for a title shot, but Hart lightly rejects him, saying that the Hogan wants revenge on THE GIANT! Insulted and rejected, Randy sulks out of the ring, hands on his hips, and does nothing to stop a charging TASKMASTER and Giant! Giant has his target, and sends a loud message to Hogan, by chokeslamming Jimmy to the mat! - A

moaI4HY.jpg?1WIQa4IS.jpg?291T1T1o.jpg?1

Q3: MATCH 2: In a decent match, Diesel and Ahmed Johnson defeated Kama and King Kong Bundy in 5:55 when Diesel defeated Kama by pinfall with a Jacknife Power Bomb. Big Daddy Cool gets his first chance at a small amount of revenge, as he teams up with Ahmed Johnson to take on Kama and King Kong Bundy. Diesel really shines in this one, as Ahmed and Diesel have little difficulty with the two lower members of the Corporation. Diesel is able to nail Kama with a Powerbomb after Ahmed sends Bundy tumbling outside of the ring to get a victory. - B- l POST MATCH, Diesel and Ahmed have their arms raised in victory, as DIBIASE grabs a microphone and stands comfortably on the ramp. DiBiase mocks Diesel for still not knowing who made the hit, but tells him he’ll keep him busy in the meantime. He’ll never beat the answers out of his Corporation! But, he’s welcome to try at Survivor Series! Ted warns Diesel of an Ace in the Hole, as with his dirty money he’s purchased a “Crown Jewel” - set to join the Corporation at the Series! - B l YOU WANT MORE SPLIT SCREEN? You got it! WWF Intercontinental Champion SHAWN MICHAELS and WWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION RAZOR RAMON cut a standard but effective babyface promo to hype tonight’s main event. They don’t like that Camp Cornette has been messing with Gorilla Monsoon. When they stick their nose in his business, they’re sticking in the champs’ business! The Kliq members promise to make them pay for that tonight! Razor wants some revenge! - B

Q4: MAIN EVENT: In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Sting & Lex Luger defeated The Blue Bloods in 13:26 when Lex Luger defeated Earl Robert Eaton by submission with a Torture Rack. The Blue Bloods have impressed recently, getting the better of THE NASTY BOYS in their most recent feud. But, Sting and Luger are just on another level, showing a great amount of chemistry! All 4 men are talented in the ring, but Sting stands out from everyone else. The finish sees Sting isolate Luger and Eaton in the ring, allowing Lex to lift Eaton in the ring and lock him in the torture rack! - B l STING AND LEX LUGER get their arms raised in victory - and maybe Lex is right! Sting is at his best without the horsemen! But those familiar footsteps are soon heard, as Naitch leads ARN ANDERSON and Dean Malenko to the ring! They’re not dressed to compete, as instead Ric Flair grabs the mic and the floor. Ric says he won his right to challenge for Sting’s US gold last week, and he wants two things - his shot next week on Nitro, and Sting in the Horsemen! Sting doesn’t offer an exact answer to that second request, but says that if Ric wrestles him fair, and wrestles him honestly… he might just join the horsemen! Flair smiles and nods, as Lex looks on disapprovingly, as the pair shake hands! He’s not in the group yet, but Sting inches closer and closer every week! - B+

moaI4HY.jpg?1WIQa4IS.jpg?291T1T1o.jpg?1

Q4: MAIN EVENT: In a good match, Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels drew with The British Bulldog and Jeff Jarrett in 14:22 following a double disqualification. Champs and potential challengers clash in this contest, as Jeff Jarrett looks to prove his worth to his Survivor Series teammatesQ Despite this, Jeff is a little outclassed compared to the other more ove, Superstars of the WWF. Jim Cornette at ringside seems to be impressed, adding a little more fire to the match and cheering on his boys. However, tensions between the two teams eventually become too much, as the champions can’t stop fighting the challengers, and the referee calls this one a draw - B l THE FOURSOME continue to brawl, as Razor pairs off with Jarrett, and HBK with Bulldog, before Cornette calls for support! Owen runs down to the ring, and Yoko waddles, giving Camp Cornette a 5 to 2 edge. But, Marty and Savio run down too, with Gorilla following shortly after, evening the odds! As security breaks up the active competitors to stop a huge brawl, the jawing between Gorilla and Cornette more intense, as Gorilla charges at Cornette! He’s stopped by security, but Jim is shocked that Gorilla would go that far! The crowd cheers on Gorilla in the ring and he tries to regain his composure, but Monday Night Raw ends in chaos - again! - B+

We're only a week away from Survivor Series, let's see what's going on in the comments:

Randy Savage - Macho definitely looks like he has a lot coming on his plate, while Hawk is looking pretty useless until Animal can come back. Which is a little sad, as Hawk with the right push could have made a strong star, but that's the problem; WCW already has huge stars, so Hawk is left in the dust beneath all the bigger stars.

With Hawk, the problem is two fold - the Power and Paint, 80s superhero gimmick is done by more over dudes in WCW right now (Savage and Hogan), and I never know when I’m gonna get the notification - “Hawk was wasted on drugs”. Can’t put any weight behind him yet.

For the WCW Television Championship:

Johnny B. Badd© vs. Sgt. Craig Pittman

Comments: Sgt. Craig Pittman....god I could not understand WCW's insistence of trying to push him, he bored the life out of me

My favorite WCW story at the time - no joke - is Pittman going around in the early days of the Monday Night Wars looking for a manager. It’s just him getting rejected week after week in awkward comedy (?) segments. Eventually he settles for Teddy Long, but man, what a journey.

Hat’s off to my boy Kevin Sullivan. The quick development of The Giant, Sting/Horsemen stuff, and Luger joining the Dungeon are all great. There’s a lot of moving parts here, and I thought he did a great job. Unfortunatley, it makes my job a little harder, but I think starting with the 95 mod is a better idea personally. It’s almost too easy to reboot after that mess of a Starcade.

Sting & Lex Luger vs. The Blue Bloods

Comments: I LOVE Regal and could easily see him sneaking a win here, but I couldn't imagine Luger being ok with taking a fall with Dave Taylor in the match.

Actually, Regal is teaming with Earl Robert Eaton. No Dave Taylor yet, but I will say I was big Regal/Taylor tag team guy in 2006. So, never say never when it comes Dave Taylor showing up in WCW...

For the WWF World Tag Team Championships

Owen Hart & Yokozuna © vs. Marty Jannetty & Savio Vega

Comments: I'd be surprised to see a title switch here

You are not alone! We can’t even get Kijar to bet on the underdogs!? What the heck is going on here!? Why does no one believe in Marty :(

Bulldog and Jarrett - I dig the addition of Jarrett to Camp Cornette. He and Corny just seem like they play off one another well. I see them picking up a cheap win here to further us toward the big Survivor Series match.

I like having Jeff doing something, even if he boasts about his position in the company (auto pushed as a main eventer) every other week...

Incidentally, poor Bret.....let me pre-empt this with the fact that I love Waylon Mercy....LOVE him, they could have done so much more with that character than they did.....but Bret has gone from Lawler, to Pierre, back to Lawler, to Yankem, and now apparently Waylon wants a bash at the Hitman.....hey Bret, the main event called, it wants you back :p

Speaking of this, I’d normally save this for the monthly news, but with the Series coming up, I’ll share it now. Waylon was meant to be on Lawler’s squad, but, after the show - he got popped for hard drugs. The series was going to be his last appearance for him anyways, so he’ll spend the last of his days as a WWF employee in rehab, and I’ve gotta get a fourth teammate.

Hey, let’s check out the standings huh?

Blodyxe(+5): 38

To4sty(+5): 35

TheBigBad (+5): 33

Beejus(+5): 32

Nobby (+5): 31

Kijar: 28

Warhawk: 18

Bonnie: 15

Jaysin(+5): 12

Jaded: 8

123Kidd, Destiny: 4

Blodyxe keeps the lead, and everyone pretty much had the same answers this week. Here's to hoping that this week's edition isn't as predictable.

If Eddie and Chavo lose, Eddie will leave WCW</p><p>

<strong>Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero</strong> vs. The Dungeon of Doom (??? & ???)</p><p>

Comments: <em>If the stipulation about Eddie leaving wasn't there I'd have picked the DoD, I just don't see Eddie losing his career on a random episode of Nitro, unless his contract is done and someone has outbid you I guess (but I don't see the WWF being overly interested in 1995 Eddie Guerrero</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rey Mysterio, Jr. </strong>vs. "The Ice Man" Dean Malenko</p><p>

Comments: <em>This was a tough pick, you don't want to beat Mysterio in his debut match ideally, especially not when it has been somewhat hyped, but you could do without the newly minted Horseman, Malenko, losing either, lets go with the debut </em></p><p> </p><p>

For the WCW United States Championship:</p><p>

<strong>Sting©</strong> vs. "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair</p><p>

Comments: <em>Neither man needs the US Title at this stage, but as long as the red and yellow express has the WCW Title then this is as close as they're getting to gold right now. I'm half tempted to pick Naitch, with Luger doing what Luger does best, turning on Sting, although I'd much rather see Pillman in the Horsemen, and with the slow build to a (potential) Savage heel turn going nicely, turning Lex as well would give you an incredibly stacked heel side</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Question:</p><p>

Who represents the Dungeon of Doom (One point for every correct answer): <strong>Hugh and Meng</strong></p><p>

WWF Monday Night Raw:</p><p> </p><p>

For the WWF World Heavyweight Championship</p><p>

<strong>"The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon © </strong>vs. Jeff Jarrett</p><p>

Comments: <em>Jeff Jarrett (in my experience) is extremely easy to get over and keep over with very little work.....WWF Champion in 1995? Oh hell no, at least not without a proper programme building to it, and not on Raw</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bam Bam Bigelow</strong> vs Jerry "The King" Lawler</p><p>

Comments: <em>Keep Bammers strong after last weeks escapades </em></p><p> </p><p>

Comments: <em>This shot would come I presume at the Decembers In Your House? I'd like to see Bret back in the mix, and I could see maybe Shawn getting the nod, but December is a bit of a throw away month, and since the tag division isn't exactly on fire at the minute *cough*JannettyandSavio*cough* giving Owen the shot wouldn't hurt, plus it makes sense to build the Camp Cornette/Razor/Diesel storyline</em></p>

<p>Guerreros - <em>Yeah, I'm with the to4ster on this one.</em></p><p>

Rey Mysterio Jr - <em>For his debut, I think you can get away with him pulling a quick roll up or something, and then Dean can beat him next time.</em></p><p>

Ric Flair - <em>This is likely to be when "it was all a ruse!" as the actual fourth Horseman shows up and costs Sting the belt.</em></p><p>

Bonus: Hugh and Shark</p><p> </p><p>

Razor Ramon - <em>While Jeff could definitely be holding gold, he's more at an IC level at this time. But if he were to have the proper build, at this time, I could see it.</em></p><p>

Bam Bam Bigelow - <em>A DQ finish that sees Lawler's new recruit appear. Helmsley?</em></p><p>

Sycho Sid - <em>A title match for Sid gives you a nice "big mang" for Razor to face off with, and we all know how Vince likes his "Can the champion overcome these odds?!"</em></p>
