<p>Favourites</p><p> </p><p>

DAVE - Simply a promotion that although was hardcore, had a plethora of talent, had the best tag team division in the world at one point and the challenges it brought was unrivaled by any other company. DAVE is king and I'll always love it. </p><p> </p><p>

CGC - Well, this is more Self making me love them but I have grown fond of the company. I love the DeColts (and most of the families in the game) and they generally have a good roster even in the dark days of 2016. Theres always a challenge due to the lack of really over heels and that stealing talent is difficult for them due to their status as a cult company. Theres just a lot to like. </p><p> </p><p>

ZEN - I never played as ZEN myself because i dont think I'd do it justice but I love everything about this company. Masks, crazy gimmicks, mirror universe, what more do you want. </p><p> </p><p>

Least Favourite</p><p> </p><p>

NOTBPW - It's just way too machine like, producing A+ matches like a wrestling match production factory. There's no glitz, no fun, just wrestling and thats boring. (Still love the Stone's though)</p><p> </p><p>

USPW - Its the exact opposite to NOTBPW and I hate that just as much. I enjoyed it in earlier games, as there was a challenge due to an aging not over enough roster but now that gone and have become the P$G of the C-Verse wrestling world. With no challenge comes little fun.</p>

<p><strong>Favourites:</strong></p><p> </p><p>

APW - First company I ever got into. Even though they were meant to take over Australia they fell short and are second best. That means they are a challenge but have access to such a wealth of talent. </p><p> </p><p>

ZEN - Every person who has done a diary on the company has done amazingly well. So I will never try a game with them again. But I love so many of their talents and their roster is so young. Also Damian Dastardly. </p><p> </p><p>

EWA - Another company I haven't don't a full play through with really but I love their roster. Byron is such a jerk owner who puts himself owner, so many body builders but have some alright talent beneath it all and Jase Cole is there and I like him. That and no one really talks about them. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dislikes:</strong></p><p>

APW - I hate when I am them as they just don't ever compete with RAW and lose so much talent, the company also just starts with poor developmental prospects and lost The Diamond Dogs. Their owner is like just there but feels absent, due to not being an onscreen talentand when I play a different Aus Company they tend to be just jerks. Oh and Victor Goliath looks bother me. </p><p> </p><p>

DIW - I love some of the guys on their Roster but let's face it The Comedian is a cancer on not only DIW but Australian Wrestling. I would love for a brawling and hard hitting company from Australia run by someone with actual sense. </p><p> </p><p>

RAW - As someone else put it (Pteroid?) They just feel soulless. Like yes they have and can have any decent Australians talent. But, they lack an identity.</p>

<p>Favorites:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>QAW</strong> - Yeah, shocker I know. I like the default product (though not enough to leave it alone) and the roster is absolutely stacked. Plus, I have so many custom graphics that every save can be different from every previous one.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>AAA (post-Anne Stardust)</strong> - Cat Quine is a very good owner and that roster is tailor made for its product. Building the company around Cherry Bomb (with The Uprising in her stable) is just low hanging fruit for expansion.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WINNOW</strong> - very much a work in progress from the very beginning. Depending on the owner, they can fly or fall flat on their faces. I also don't like how they debut into an alliance that does nothing for them. But the product (and hiring rule) is great, if you can piece together the workers for it (which is easily the hardest part).</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NOTBPW</strong> - my guilty pleasure. Put two (or three or four) good workers in a ring and you get a good match. I often expand the women's division (more shockers!) and try to work them as high up the card as possible. The product is boring but that allows me to auto-book the men and book the women. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Plus, it's the only way I get to play with Victoria Stone who is the ANTI-Stephanie McMahon.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>EWA</strong> - I play them mainly as a converse to NOTBPW. Whereas NOTB is match heavy, I always go angle heavy with EWA (and I abuse my owner and he loves it). Between him and Simona Cox, it's always fun though the dearth of talent is a bit of a drag.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>5SSW</strong> - I'll always love this company even if it's a bit downtrodden in its current state (seriously? Closing the dojo?). </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Least favorite</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SWF</strong> - They waste as much talent as their real life counterpart. Plus, it's easy mode with all of that talent. Emma Chase can mint main event talent in this product, <strong><em>by herself</em></strong>.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>USPW</strong> - A talent raid (of SWF/TCW/NOTBPW/QAW/SOTBPW/CGC) would make them ridiculously effective. But, their women's division can often overshadow everyone except their figurehead, producing matches far better than anyone outside the main event. I just dislike how they use (or rather, misuse) their talent.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CGC</strong> - SE-lite with very little talent, though I often poach Faith and Jenny Playmate to save them from the curse of mediocrity.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CWWF</strong> - No. Just, no. That mish mash product gets no one over without serious modification. Plus, you always wind up with a really dumb owner, in my experience.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>RAW</strong> - They should be able to grow in meteoric fashion, given their product (50% match ratio?!?) but they usually can't.</p>

Think of Triple H in Evolution (when it started, not the various revivals that have happened since). The Bomb is expensive enough that you want to get multiple uses out of her on any show you use her on.</p>

  • 11 months later...

I know that this thread is kind of old, but I think it's worth posting still.

My favourite companies are:

ACPW

My favourite Canadian underdog company, and as a good Canadian boy myself I have a soft spot for them. I love Diablo, Atherton, and especially Mimic. I'm a big fan of pretty much the entire roster, except for a couple of people I tend to drop (Gorman is a negative influence and doesn't deserve his spot in my company) and I always like to see them succeed even though I know it's probably not going to happen.

BCG

I'm not going to lie, the original reason for liking these guys was the fact that they had a cool logo with a lion, and I'm a big fan of big cats (Not so much Big Cat Brandon, but that's not his fault.) Razan, Funakoshi, Torii, Taku, Ikoma, these guys are loaded with young talent looking to take the world of Puroresu by storm, and I absolutely love them for that. I'm a big fan of Puro, and while my preferences tend to be more with NJPW in real life, booking these guys makes me very happy. My next two choices will likely make a lot of sense.

EX2010

I talked about how BCG was stacked with tremendous talent, now we go to the other phenominal young roster. Tsuneyo, Masao, Kawagishi, Tsuchi and Okakura are all studs, even if Okakura is locker room poison. They have the Junior Heavyweight style that I enjoy as a good counterbalance to my love of BCG (and how I tend to drive BCG when I play them because I'm bad and love that weight class split). Not much else to say about these amazing guys.

5SSW (and WINNOW)

I'm putting these two together because generally I find 5SSW goes out of business and then WINNOW opens shortly after. I love playing WINNOW and poaching talent from 5SSW, like Heart Saitoh, Fuyuko Higa and Shiori Jippensha, as well as others. The Joshi wrestling in my opinion has some of the straight up best workers in the world, and I really love taking a stripped down WINNOW for a good R2G playthrough and proving that by taking them to National Level and fighting the boys.

Least Favourites

NOTBPW and SOTBPW

Lets start off with the big ones. I hate the names of these two companies. I love the stars of both, I'm a big fan of the Stone family and a lot of the talent from NOTBPW, and of course there's so much great talent out of SOTBPW that I try to poach to Japan, but why the hell would two of the biggest companies in the world name themselves in relation to their position to the United States of America? I tend to change NOTBPW to Royal Canadian Wrestling (from the thunderverse) because it makes me so angry.

4C

I feel like I should like these guys more, but I think because I'm running ACPW generally if I'm in Canada they just end up irritating me because they're basically bigger richer me. I like Frankie Dee and Thunder and Lightning, and generally try to steal them when I get ACPW rolling, but I am just not a fan of this company at all otherwise. It doesnt' help that I don't really like Too Hot and Sayeed Ali has hurt me in the past.

BHOTWG

This is an interesting one for me. They remind me of NJPW, and realistically they're awesome, but I like to either play smaller feds in Japan, or I like to do the R2G, and when I'm doing those BHOTWG is always there to screw me over by poaching my talents. Don't make the mistake of signing Omezo Shikitei or Hitomaro Suzuki for your little fed, because big bad Burning Hammer will come and snatch them away.

GCG

You can't love BCG and also like GCG. These guys are sellouts, swapping to the North American schedule and trying to overhaul in a way that Japan didn't want. I don't hate most of the MJM (though if I play any of them I swap them to touring), but GCG holds a special place for me. I do try to steal SUKI and have enjoyed booking a dream match between Funakoshi and Gakusha while running a SAISHO diary, but ugh. When playing a 2010 mod save GCG died as I was using BCG in a R2G capacity, I was certainly not sad to see them go.

BSC

I'm sorry, I like wrestling, I don't like eye candy matches and all of the bs that this company put out. I'm happy that they're closed down, and having them be around and still not closed in my current game is a sad reminder that stuff like that in America sells.

Favorite

1. TCW - The promotion I always choose. Like a lot of the upper card guys and positioning of being a big dog that just needs some help to overcome it's rivals is exactly what I like to play as. They also fit how I like to book my promotions perfectly. The lower/midcard areas need a lot of help, but that's OK because I like to get my own names in there too

2. NOTBPW - Always partner with them. Their roster might not be the most popular in the USA but they have a lot of good talents there and being able to use them can help my lower card. Also helps when I want to start doing shows in Canada

3. PGHW - Same deal as above

4. WLW - While I dont always partner with them like the 2 above I like the top of their roster a lot and they usually have pretty good growth. Big fan of Emerald Angel and Magnum Kobe. Also usually grows quite a bit and has good shows. One of my favorite promotions to follow up on

5. Raw - Same as WLW. Like Loxley Robbins a bit and I always go for Swoop in all my saves

Least favorite

1. USPW - I just can't push them back. No matter how many times I get them to sign my 45 or older vets to take their match and angle qualities, poach their younger guys, or blow them out of the water with my great shows they just wont go away. I also just dont like pop>perf promotions that much and they make trying to keep my younger guys hard

2. SWF - Man, the AI just sucks for SWF in my recent save. They sign a lot of unremarkable people, run some really uninteresting main event feuds and I feel like I've seen them waste Angry Gilmore in every game I've ever played. Another Pop>Perf promotion as well

3. Burning Hammer - My main issue with them is that I feel like they should be a lot bigger than they are in my saves. They have some good talent but WLW always passes them up. Feels like they're just extremely unambitious and once I steal the likes of KC Glenn and Matthew Keith then I can't say I love their roster either, although I am jealous that I haven't been able to get Sensational Dragon yet

4. 21st - Just mad at them for stealing Tommy Cornell away from TCW. That's pretty much the whole of it

5. CGC - Alex DeColt losing his mind doesn't help, but they turn into the island of misfit toys a lot with outcasts from TCW, USPW, and SWF filling up a lot of their roster.

I think I might have to add CILL to my list of least favorites. "Hey, do you want to run a company that's exactly like OLLIE but with less money, less popularity, a less talented roster, and a worse backstage with all of this being in a harder area, with absolutely nothing to balance that out? Then have we got a promotion for you!"

I'm glad to see this thread has gotten resurrected in the last couple of days. My perspectives on companies continue to evolve based off my experiences.

I've developed a love for the European scene (I lump European and British in together) with the hyper-technical guys. Nigel, Pavel, The German Machine, Billy Robinson, etc... plus Alton Vicious is money and company make for a fun work-rate heavy experience.

The one scene I continue to struggle with is Australia. There are workers there I'm interested in, but I just can't seem to ever get into a game with one of the companies.

Actually, I forgot about their other really good prospect, Hugh de Aske! Honestly, I've seen him in ZEN diaries so many times, I thought he worked there. While I'm here, I just checked the database again, and ACPW might be even worse than 4C. Instead of having three good prospects for the future, they have only two! Gee, between ACPW, 4C, a quickly declining CGC, and an aging NOTBPW, I really hope Adam gave the Canadian scene a shot in the arm for 2020. Canada desperately needs it.

ACPW have an awesome little roster, if a little expensive for their starting popularity. If you like flippy-do wrestling, you have Diablo Duvak, Mimic, and Jamie Atherton already hot, and guys like Kamikaze and Devyn Reynaud ready to rock it in high spot matches. They remind me of Babes of Sin City. A lot of their guys wouldn't work out in mainstream promotions, but if you focus on what they do (High Spot match aims) they can be highly effective. With modern wrestling becoming what it is, I'd LOVE to see ACPW become something bigger going forwards. Or at least their guys making a splash. I always look for talent there before 4C.

I agree Canada needs some big changes to stay interesting. I'm pretty bored of the status quo.
