<p>Kinda knew the sexuality changing thing would be controversial the second I saw it... putting that out as a minor change to skip by was probably a mistake, it could really use some explaining, as to the intent and implementation, as far as what the news stories would look like when this occurs.</p><p> </p><p>

If it's just for coming out scenarios or genuine discoveries, which I imagine would mostly be reserved for the younger workers, then I don't think there's a problem there. I've seen workers in the game as young as like 16, 15, wouldn't really be anything strange about having questions at that point.</p><p> </p><p>

If people just randomly 'turn' one way or the other than obviously that's silly at best and insensitive at worst, but I'd assume that's not how it'll work.</p>

Call me crazy but are you not born with your sexual preference? I know by your teens you pretty much established what gender you are attracted to. Anybody that ever claims they switch is because thats when they feel comfortable being that way publicly. Its not a switch you turn off and on.

<p>After reading all this, I have no idea what it means anymore. My thoughts when reading it in the Journal immediately made me think of Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner. So I really didn't think much about it. </p><p> </p><p>

I also figured you could turn it off or on, doesn't matter to me one way or the other though. More interested in the Promotion products and such to be honest.</p>

Changing sexuality is fairly different from changing sex. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I mean... they can also just be "in the closet" and come out as gay. I highly doubt it'll be a common thing. Could be as rare as a scandal is. I'm unsure why there is outrage... but in 2019 being unhappy is all the rage. If it stays or goes, does little to impact my game experience.

I'm with BrokenCycle, this is not going to go away. I hope that Adam realizes that this feature is more controversial than it is is needed and just scraps it all together. It's not a game changer and neither is sexuality.</p>

<p>To answer people's questions:</p><p> </p><p>

- Yes, the feature could be disabled.</p><p> </p><p>

- It only applied to generated wrestlers, preset workers would not be affected.</p><p> </p><p>

- It would only happen once in a blue moon.</p><p> </p><p>

However, based on how ugly this thread turned, I am removing the feature entirely as it's not worth the hassle to keep it in.</p>

If you can implement something positive, do it. Don't worry about a few posts on the forum, people against it just need to get used to it both in the game and the real world because it's not going away.</p>

Yeah a bit disappointed its being removed. Thought having wrestlers being able to "come out" during the game would have added a bit a realism to it. It should have just be clarified from the start how it works but it seemly would have been what people were asking it to be after it got announced.

Not everything in 2016 can be turned off. Adam just needs to scrap this feature when the game's barely been fully coded. Seriously. This isn't going to go away. <p> </p><p> When the game is released people are going to post "What the hell, why is John Cena homosexual now and dating David Otunga?" and then there will be 4 pages worth of posts where people say it makes no sense, and then be called homophobes, and the mods will have to delete all the posts to calm everyone down. This is a really dumb "woke" feature that makes no real sense in reality (even the gay people in this thread have said this) and it doesn't add anything to the game-- it just makes it look more random and weird than TEW's AI currently does. And here's what get me... bisexuality is already in the game...</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I view this as a "Kenny Death" style feature that's neat if you want it there but annoying if my star babyface decides he's a transgender at 36 or turns homosexual in 1972 and starts bangin the owner...</p><p> </p><p> My main problem here is, it's never really affected wrestling at any level and I wouldn't have added it honestly. It's a fun feature in the right cartoon context but it literally kills immersion in every other context. So I hope it has an option in the menu.</p>

"Coming out" would have been a better description, and that is how it was worded in game.</p>

Ok with that clarification I get where you were going with it. The way you initially explained that was awful because you made it sound like every person has a trinary switch that they just randomly flipped. (Thank You Mr. Creative for introducing me to that word)

<p>I love the first refusal change and never made sense to me before when owners didn't want someone hired when they've just graduated. </p><p> </p><p>

Chiming in on the sexuality change, I wouldn't have minded that change but I also get why Adam removed that since it did turn quite ugly in this thread. Also, Kenny Deaths rule and I never get sick of them!</p>

<p>For those who are saying the sexuality feature was just a switch that would happen, yes. The game is a bit of data and technically it's a switch.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm not sure you can simulate sexuality properly, especially the closeted aspects. I mean, can anyone simulate properly a closeted homosexual man in a machismo world of a 1980s south texas locker room. Let's be honest, even until recently homosexuality wasn't accepted in wrestling. At least from the fans perspective. So any historical simming of a man out of the closet is going to have some effects. Don't believe me? Look at Goldust who isn't a homosexual playing someone. I remember being told in 1995 by a family friend that we boo him because he was a fag.</p><p> </p><p>

I am watching through some early seasons of Survivor with my wife, and it's amazing that terms like "FNF/fat naked fag" to describe Rich or queer are used in a negative sense. Even in the 3rd season, 2002, there's people thinking they voted for someone because they were gay. Billy & Chuck was a comedy angle during this time (2005? I forget). </p><p> </p><p>

You have rumors of JBL raping people as a rib. Stuff like that going on in the locker rooms.</p><p> </p><p>

Also for those saying it has never had impact: look up rumors of Brawler/Patterson, look up how Chris Kanyon wanted to be the first openly gay wrestler and was forced to come out as Boy George and get his ass kicked. How much did he suffered with bipolar disorder because of his closeted nature. Ernie Roth (the Grand Wizard) stayed closeted his entire lifetime. Even Orlando Jordan can be categorized there. Homosexuality hasn't been positive in wrestling (on and off screen) despite men like Pat Patterson in the background. Those are some examples off the top of my head but don't tell me homosexuality doesn't matter in wrestling when it does.</p>

Question to Adam: Hoping there is some kind of control or turn on/off for the sexuality feature, to be able to avoid too much unrealistic scenarios in RW mods. Is that, or could it be, a possibility?

This was the appropriate answer to have, or within the appropriate realm. It was obvious as soon as it was announced what was the intention. So, with that knowledge I just wanted to confirm what kind of control we would have. All the "bravado" shown in this thread is horrible. What does it matter if Rey and Orton decided to marry and/or divorce in a game? Would someone be disgusted over a gay couple? Shame on whoever did. What mattered to know was the level of control to make sure not a ton of Reys and Randys would hook up, simply for realism purposes.

The feature in itself is actually quite cool and allows the simulation of someone coming out of the closet. Which is still a taboo in wrestling, even in 2019, but it is finally starting to get the proper attention and a few examples were even already cited.

So with this, i ask you, Adam, please keep the feature. It is very interesting, especially if it leads out to possible scenarios where we could interact with that event. Even if not, it would still be great. As a straight man, I truly hope you don't remove a feature that would be able to simulate a reality that needs to be simulated. Other preferences exist, people come out of the closet. Young wrestlers may come to the realization they have been living a lie and finally come to terms with their sexuality.

So keep it in. Regardless, give a definite response to those that have replied to you and asked it to stay , because I know i'm not the only one wanting it to stay. Do not allow the fact that some people jumped the gun before even getting clarification to remove what could be a pretty cool feature.

That is all I ask.
