I don't understand this being a new feature. There already is a notepad. Or does this mean a notepad being shared between users?

I think it means that it's a notepad for the editor. There wasn't a notepad in the editor before -- so there was no way to make notes on what you were doing/needed to do/etc.. for a mod or even for your own database tinkerings. Now you can -- so if you send the file back and forth between people, they can see what you've done and you can see what they've done, but it also allows you to keep track for yourself.

I mean, I think. That's what I got out of the announcement.

Fun little addition to the game in the new post today. And honestly I hope we'll see dynasty bookers taking advantage of the mismatches of gimmick name and mask. Like maybe Golden Tiger wears a red mask and gets mocked for it. And until he starts winning, no one will listen to the fact he calls himself GOLDEN Tiger not because of his mask but because he's as tan as Zeus Maximillian. :)

It will be the same as all previous games in the series as it is written in the same language.

That's what we call a Microsoft Answer. Technically correct and utterly useless. I asked what the requirements are. Telling me they are the same as previous games doesn't help, because I don't know what those requirements were. I can't really go to the computer store and ask for something that will run Old Adam Ryland games, now can I?

A helpful answer would be something like:

The game will require Windows (insert version here), with X amount of memory, Y amount of processor speed, Z amount of whatever else it might need.

That seems like a needlessly hostile response...

But the requirements that I found, on the 2016 page for Greydog Software:

Minimum System Requirements

Operating System: Windows XP

CPU: Pentium II (or equivelant) 800mhz or higher

Memory: 128MB RAM

Hard Disk Space: 150MB for install, additional space for saved games

Audio System: Windows compatible sound card, plus the newest version of Windows Media Player

Video System: 1024×768 display capable of running 16-bit color of higher

Optimal System Requirements

Operating System: Windows 10, 7 or XP

CPU: Pentium III class (or equivelant) 2GHz or higher

Memory: 512 MB RAM or higher

Video System: 1024×768 display capable of running 32-bit color mode

It's a fair assumption given that you post here fairly often to assume that you are playing previous versions... so if the game works on that, it should work. :p

But the more accurate answer would be... there's no minimum specs for the game to be tested on unless someone is using a super old computer to test it on. The game doesn't need much to run as the graphics are just layered up from still images and the language has been in use on Microsoft systems forever, so it should run on any computer from the last 10 years easily, perhaps as far back as 20... the only bottleneck in terms of game performance is really processing power, as the day to day stuff is the majority of the game's workload and has been ever since TEW04 with the way the game is structured.

It's impossible to give a "you need X, Y and Z to run this game" answer because as long as you can load it up, it should be good to go. And the majority (if not all) of what the game is run on has been around for at least a decade, so any computer within that range should work. Older systems are just likely to be a bit slower. :)

With a few years into a save with a lot of companies and workers, the game can actually slow down considerably and more RAM and/or a better CPU will very likely help mitigate that problem.

Fantasy Draft

This may be the dumbest request or suggestion ever but, I would love to be able to start a game with cleared out rosters and then have a fantasy draft. From a logic perspective I get that there would probably be advanced rules (Popularity eligibility, location, roster size etc.) but I would settle for the brand draft screens being applied to the whole database as an option.

If we have that option, I probably play as the guy who missed the draft and has to make up his roster from the leftovers :D

I know it's pretty late to make a suggestion. But if the game has the ability to play the theme music everytime we 'Run the Show' will help in further immersion. As of TEW16 the theme plays only during the beginning.

As always we can change the music as long as we keep the same file name.
