SEVENTEEN DAYS AWAY FROM THE DEMO! I only need the demo really. I'm going to start by either retooling my DBZ mod or continue to work on the others. That week between the demo & the actual release won't feel like any time at all.

This!

The lead up to the demo is going to drag! But I agree I think demo week to full game will fly in. A lot that can be done in 2 months gameplay.

[/b]I wonder if this could pave the way for angles to having the option of being pre-taped. I'll post more about that in the suggestions board.

Didn't he literally post that alongside the announcement, that that's not possible? Matches and angles would be considered as equal in terms of booking.

As for the pie-eating match: It would be classified as an angle in-game, which ironically would make it suitable for an A* rating (though I think I've never had an A* segment, but then again I've never booked WWE/SWF). But "that's the joke".

I went to double check to see if maybe I missed something. Here's what Adam said at the end, which I think is what you are referring to:

(NB As I know that at least one person will ask, I'll clarify now that although this is pre-taped content, no, you cannot use this to tape segments days / weeks / months in advance to get around booking clashes. That (obviously) would involve enormous changes to how the scheduling and booking systems work.)

So unless I missed anything else in the post from yesterday, I believe what Adam is saying is that it does not give you a workaround for booking clashes, as in if you have a worker that works for more than one company and your company happens to have a show the same day as another that said worker works for. And also that you can't tape anything days, weeks, months, in advance.

Also, if I'm reading the following correctly:

These sort of matches are identified via a fourth addition to the Held In field; on top of the existing three of In Ring, Special Set, and Backstage / Car Park, the new option is On Location [Cinematic]. This simulates matches that are pre-taped earlier in the day in an external environment.

I would think it would be possible to give the option of having pre-taped angles by just adding a simple tickbox, and any events of randomness could just be notes in the Dirt Sheet section when running the show.

For sports entertainment companies, last angles in shows have always been weighed highly. So with SWF you can get a B+ rated show with a 70 rated main event, if the last angle is great.

This isn't quite true (at least according to the handbook). The angle rating is primarily based on the best angle, not the last one, the match rating is primarily based on the last match, regardless of whether there are angles after it, and the show rating is based on the proportion of matches to angles. Product has nothing to do with it.

I was digging through the development journal to try and find a couple of things that I vaguely remember being in 2020, but now can't seem to find when I look. (It is a large journal.)

Firstly, I saw the note in about road agent notes being able to be used to "force" a storyline to continue. Is this road agent note available to matches as well?

Secondly, I thought I vaguely saw that workers in development/child territories wouldn't complain about being down there anymore, but I don't seem to see that. I thought this was related to the workers not requesting raises anymore.

The first one wasn't specifically addressed, but here's the section you're thinking about for the second one:

"Workers in developmental territories now decide when they want to leave based on their popularity compared to the child company's rather than by how much they can still learn. This makes it more user friendly as the user won't get messages asking for call ups very often and it allows the player to use their development territories in a more flexible manner."

Had question come up on something I remembered from the journal. I remember there being a feature for HOI that took into account length of reigns. Am I just making that up or is it actually a thing? Can't find it back in the journal.

Also, if that is a thing, is the quality of the reign something that matters? For example, if I belt Tommy Cornell and then dont use him or belt him and he has a 6 month title reign that's awful defense after awful defense will that still count? Curious because I notice a lot of long but bad reigns out of the AI in a few different promotions(mainly USPW) and want to know if something like that would still count since I see most of their reigns go 9 months or longer in 2016 and rack up double digit defenses more often than not.

10 or more defenses is considered an "Epic Reign" and normal reigns are worth less. Nothing about match quality being taken into consideration.

Just rereading some of the journal and one of the most recent posts mentioned testing different companies in different databases. I know this is likely just some of the more popular TEW16 mods converted for that purpose plus the new TEW20 C-Verse but it’d be fantastic if the game came with multiple canon databases.

Something like coming with CV97, CV05, CV13 and CV20 (or 21 for an even spread of years) pre-installed. I know CV97 will likely be the first mod ready to go because Derek is a tester but having the option to jump in with the familiar faces from older databases would be great for giving the new game a whirl.

Will we be able to directly use skins from 2016, or will some changes be necessary?

I remember Adam saying even the grade graphics work differently in the new game, so I think it's going to be a lot different. Skins will need to be created from scratch I'm sure.

Just a quick question

In TEW2020 will companies increase the length of their TV shows as they grow? Or as they are more financially secure?

I can't seen to get the balance right in my 2018 mod despite lots of testing and adjusting, if I start a regional company with a 1-hour show they keep it at 1-hour even if they make it to cult or national, meaning they end up running weekly TV shows with just two matches and a lot of their roster sit doing nothing. If I start the TV show at a longer length they use too many workers when regional and they can end up going bankrupt.

I did look through the development journal but couldn't find an answer.

Thanks

<p>Hello all,</p><p> </p><p>

Just to preface this, I am really looking forward to TEW 2020, and think that each iteration of the series has definitely been moving in the right direction. However, there is one small area which I really miss from TEW 2010 and, before posting a suggestion, wanted to run this by the community (just in case I've missed something, or someone who has been testing can tell me that this is no longer relevant).</p><p> </p><p>

In TEW 2010, when viewing most lists of people (e.g. the character menu, or roster screen), you saw something roughly like this:</p><p> </p><p>

2010 <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/88r8rszxq8w6w64/TEW%202010%20Characters%20Page.jpg?dl=0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.dropbox.com/s/88r8rszxq8w6w64/TEW%202010%20Characters%20Page.jpg?dl=0</a></p><p>

<img alt="TEW%202010%20Characters%20Page.jpg?dl=0" data-src="https://www.dropbox.com/s/88r8rszxq8w6w64/TEW%202010%20Characters%20Page.jpg?dl=0" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

However, as of 2016, you see this: <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/ku6tdwptdgh812f/TEW%202016%20Workers%20Page.jpg?dl=0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.dropbox.com/s/ku6tdwptdgh812f/TEW%202016%20Workers%20Page.jpg?dl=0</a></p><p> </p><p>

2016</p><p>

<img alt="TEW%202016%20Workers%20Page.jpg?dl=0" data-src="https://www.dropbox.com/s/ku6tdwptdgh812f/TEW%202016%20Workers%20Page.jpg?dl=0" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The 2016 screen is better for going into detail, and makes more information immediately available. However, I feel that it lacks visualisation.</p><p> </p><p>

2010 <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/5xcqdb9xlf7dodp/TEW%202010%20Visualisation.png?dl=0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.dropbox.com/s/5xcqdb9xlf7dodp/TEW%202010%20Visualisation.png?dl=0</a></p><p>

<img alt="Dg1jvrT" data-src="https://ibb.co/Dg1jvrT" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

For me, the use of colour and combining skills into a smaller number of summarised areas (e.g. rumble incorporating three skills, etc.), works much better. Generally, if I am viewing stats from an overview screen, I am likely to prioritise getting a quicker summary over a more in depth look. I used to find it a lot easier to flick through lists of workers, using the colours as visual cues, and then go onto the profiles of those workers that I wanted to find more information about (rather than viewing it from the overview screen).</p><p> </p><p>

Maybe I just have a very colour/visual orientated mind, but even in 2016 with all the information available on the character/worker overview screen, I tend to actually go into workers' profiles when I want a detailed look (due to the more readable layout). However, I miss the ability to get that quickly visualised overview that TEW 2010 offered.</p><p> </p><p>

The 2016 layout, in my opinion, works best when you already know who you are looking for, but want to do a deep dive. The 2010, works much better for scouting broader groups or workers, or quickly getting an overview of the a roster. This makes me think that more hardcore players (I'm probably at the casual end of the spectrum) might prefer the 2016 layout, but 2010 might be better for the less experienced. I wonder if anyone else has an opinion on that, as I'm certainly not that attuned to other players' play styles?</p><p> </p><p>

I appreciate that other changes to the game - fog of war/pro mode, etc. - might impact the 2010 model; but what I'm asking, in an overly convoluted and rambling fashion, is to what extent it is easy to get a quick visualisation of a worker's talents when skimming through a list/roster in 2020?</p><p> </p><p>

Particularly with the new comparison screens, I see less need to be able to access so much information all at once from - for example - a roster screen, and would prefer a return to a quicker, more simple visualisation on such screens. <strong>Has anyone who has seen TEW 2020 (apologies if you are not meant to talk about it), got any comments on the visualisation in the game?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Even just adding colour to the 2016 style section below would be a great help for me:</p><p>

Thanks very much for taking the time to read this, and sorry that I managed to turn a simple question into a lengthy post.</p><p><a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2020_04/1618863893_20102016VisualComparison.jpg.aa3a7e482862b575fa7cabc0212f3785.jpg" data-fileid="3570" data-fileext="jpg" rel=""><img data-fileid="3570" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt="1618863893_20102016VisualComparison.jpg.aa3a7e482862b575fa7cabc0212f3785.jpg" data-src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2020_04/1618863893_20102016VisualComparison.jpg.aa3a7e482862b575fa7cabc0212f3785.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></a></p>
