If we have 3 or 4 main people push for Emark and then later on he flips scum, I feel better about those who pushed on him. Likewise, if he comes up scum later, it is helpful to come back to this day phase and see who was pushing for us not to go for him.

And vice versa for if he flips town, then I feel worse about those who suspect him and better about those who pushed against it.

Obviously mafia isn't so black and white but still, it's a helpful starting point.

Do I think Emark will get lynched this day phase? Since both players showed their skill/helpfulness later on when it was needed.

I feel like that was just a lot of talking in a circle and not really answering your question but hopefully that helps. If it doesn't make sense, I can try to explain it better.

Thanks to both of you for your answers.

What you said makes sense, obviously not black & white but I think I got the basic idea why lynch could be useful even on day 1 even if it hits townie. Not going to completely chance my current mindset about day 1 lynch of course but I do keep this on mind for future games.

I don’t think lynching day 1 is cool. I won’t be putting a vote.

I do think the last few games have had some heat in them and we all need to take a breath and let cooler heads prevail.

All we are doing is giving scum good direction. Let’s all come together and lynch Jadeds crew!

Yes we will be relying on abilities, but right now we can push to out roles and give scum good night one targets to go after. What do we do if Rmatk was pushed harder and winds up being a protector? A watcher? A town vig? I’m not saying he’s town or scum. I’m just saying day one is usually a bunch of nonsense posts an an occasional push. I do feel we gain a lot from the talk of day one, but I’m my own opinion a day one lynch is not usually good fir town, and honestly no fun fir the player getting lynched especially if they are a town power role.

Day Phase One Has Ended.

Emark - 4 (Opulent, djthefunkchris, Too Sweet Spartan, Imarevenant)

No Vote - 18 (lukess11, Destiny, bak42, Tha Black Phenom, Leion, The Two, I Effin Rule, Eternal Phoenix, Bluestar, BHK1978, Michgcs, The Archer, Moon_lit_tears, Zergon, Teh_showtime, Paws7297, Emark, Eliphas)

No Lynch was acheived.

Day One

With the peculiar death of janitor Scruffy the day prior, the denizens of the UNH CLarke found themselves in the ship's mess to discuss the happenings of the day. Accusations were exchanged, ideas were speculated, but the day ended with simply insufficient information, and many retired to their cabins.

It is now Night Phase One. You have until 17:30 GMT (13:30 EST) Monday April 8 to send in Night Action PMs to BOTH Rayelek & Derek B.

If there is a cult or not is to be decided, and honestly there is enough people, especially if the scum team isn't very big.

Anyone on the scum team want to share your size with us so we may figure out if there is a cult or not? I guess you guys would know already, but I figured I would ask to see if you felt like sharing... Anyone? Emark? MLT? Blue?

/nod.

Or The Two?

You are a different player this game then that game and so is he. You have to play each role to your best ability, not hold grudges, think of him as a new player as well, etc. We can't get so personal with each other, as each game we are different roles.

Sorry for the rant. It was just as much for my own benefit (to remember to do as I say).

This... Let's not get into

last game, nor did we up to day three. What night was it that the investigator found scum again? ;)

Then again, you were part of Jaded's rugrats.

You’re right, but hitting town, ups the odds of hitting scum the next night. We have to hope they are around long enough to hit scum and tell us. I’m not saying to rely on the ability to find scum. Talking is the only group effort we can make to catch scum, but powers are here to assist us. Let’s use them as well.

Oh, I get what your saying, I just don't agree 100%. Yes, use those abilities and try to find scum. I am not relying on that effort as my main means of finding scum though.

Unless I'm reading your post wrong, you're saying to hold the abilities higher than the actual playing, and I've never done that and I won't start now.

IF at some point in time, somehow someway, I was to get an investigative ability, if a mod ever feels that generous for me (hasn't happened...like ever), I might change up slightly...very slightly.

I always meant to ask if you were a Flem or a Walloon.

I try to keep that one in the dark, mon cher. :D

Let's not forget: Belgium also has (a very small) German-speaking community (inhereted it from winning WW2) which means we have about 5 governments (Belgian, Flemish, Walloon, Brussels (yes, seperate) and a German one). Keeping tabs in Mafia is easier than keeping tabs on governments in Belgium.

Ditto

Playing coward’s mafia is no fun. Obviously don’t launch important info into the thread for free but more thoughts out in the open = more discussion = more chances to catch scum exposing themselves or town putting things together collectively.

You could argue merely talking about game theory and setup got the don killed last game. Probably why people are questioning anyone thinking of a cult now actually.

Breaking eggs to make an omelet and all that. I get it.

TBP thinks we're boring and hasn't had a compelling enough reason to comment

Haha nah, it's more what you said about EP that fits about me.

In the end I thought it better to not drag the game out for 5 more day phases. That just doesn't sound like fun for anyone, well aside maybe dj, outlaw, and the rest of the Titans who were having fun with Sprinkle on the last day :p

Don't know how the Mr. T got in that quote, but hey... brought me back a bit with seeing it:).

Appreciated the back and forth between DJ and MLT. I think they both had valid points, just different frameworks about how to be the most effective.
pfft... Clearly I was right and she was wrong. Mind you... I didn't say we had to actually Lynch someone to have something of value... But voting and stating your thoughts and seeing how they change over the game is most valuable to everyone.

IF it wasn't, you would never quote me (or anyone else for that matter) to prove a point after I get killed.;)

How dogs swipping y o u turn into though?

I can't find the proper translator for whatever language your trying to speak.:p

Yes, Outlaw was Thanos and he of course recruited me.. He knows how to win games.;)

I have to go check on the church, slap my wifes butt, knock out some kids, feed the cat, go to the store, etc.

Be back later.
