TEW2020 Attribute Suggestion Thread

Recommended Posts

Sorely Missed - Wrestler has been unavailable to wrestle for an extended period of time and has been missed by the fans, their first match in each company will receive a boost (lasts 14-28 days)

I think that this is a great suggestion. I've often felt a little underwhelmed by the fact that returning stars (be they returning from injury, hiatus, or just on a limited schedule) don't function any differently to a worker who has been on every show. This would be a good catchall to represent a variety of similar situations.

Performance

Incoherent Babbler: When given a microphone, regardless of whether or not it is scripted, this worker just doesn't seem to make sense. (Effect: When rated on 'Entertainment' skills such as Microphone or Acting, the segment will take a moderate penalty.)

Steiner-ism: Despite never making any sense with a mic, the fans just seem to eat up whatever this worker says. (Effect: Angles where this worker is rated on Entertainment Skills will receive a slight bonus.)

Horrible Talker, Hot Body: Although this worker can't talk on a microphone worth anything, the people will still care because man is this worker just gorgeous. (Effect: This worker is given a slight bonus in popularity gains whenever appearing on-screen in angles.)

Personality

Head Of The Locker Room: This worker will always be considered a Locker Room Leader, and will always be the judge of backstage incidents. Gains respect and reputation at a slightly increased rate.

Worth My Weight In Gold: This worker is extremely egotistical, and will only be happy when being paid much more than they are worth. Has a natural major negative impact on the locker room morale, and negative morale effects are greatly amplified.

No Time For The Little Leagues: This worker will refuse to work for companies rated Insignificant or Tiny.

Misc.

Born In The Backyard: This worker was a well-known Backyard Wrestler, and as such will have slightly higher caps on their Stamina, Aerial and Flashiness stats, but will have slightly lower caps on Toughness, Resilience and Strength.

Star In The Making: This worker's popularity cap is much higher than usual, and can never be lower than 75.

Staring At The Lights: This worker's popularity cap can never be greater than 55.

Natural Leader: When being booked as the leader of a stable, this worker will gain popularity slightly faster than usual.

Workaholic: The worker doesn't like being unemployed or having a quiet schedule. If they're on a written contract, they're much more likely to become unhappy or ask for their release if they aren't used regularly. If they're signed to handshake contracts, they're much more likely to work for numerous promotions to ensure their schedule is always full. Furthermore, if the worker is unemployed, they're slightly more likely to accept less favourable terms to ensure employment.

The rest of the suggestion is good, but this part definitely would not be usable - the number of employers depends entirely on how many companies are willing to offer the worker a deal, a worker's attributes can't have any impact on that as it's an external factor.

Double Life: The worker is a true pro at work but has personal issues. Has a mildly positive natural impact on the backstage environment. Negative moral effects on them are dampened. Rarely gets involved in negative backstage incidents. Has a greatly increased risk of developing addictions and problems with the law. Has a greatly increased chance of getting into trouble/scandals.

And I don't know if it's something that can be patched, but while I'm thinking of it, is it possible that we can add "Sexual Exploitation" to the list of scandals? Since the #metoo movement in professional wrestling, there is a long list of trainers/wrestlers who allegedly took advantage of their position to exploit (young) women so it seems like it's a viable option for the game.

Streamer / YouTuber? I don't know what it should be called. An attribute about certain people who independently make/is involved with content online that boosts/declines popularity and shows up as stories on the homepage. For example, The Young Bucks, or Xavier Woods.

... Oh jeez. Would this attribute have to be called Content Creator[/b}? Is that really the best choice for a name?! lol

<p><strong>Working Mark:</strong> The worker is such a big fan that they go up to almost every veteran worker to tell them what big fans they were of theirs when watching them growing up. Has a higher chance of being developing negative relationships with workers who have the Professional, Quiet, Stalwart, Bad Ass Reputation or Has a Temper attribute as those workers will get fed up with the marking out. However, Working Marks have a high chance of developing a positive relationship with workers who have the Grifter, Sleazy and Scumbag attribute. All morale effects are slightly amplified. (NB: This is a specific personality; each worker can only have one).</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Buffet of Breakfast:</strong> Backstage incidents with this worker will usually involve the worker cooking pancakes or waffles.</p>

Member of a legendary family - Think Hart Family, person with this attribute more likely to be picked up due to their name and regardless of skill (Lacey Von Erich anyone)

X-Rated - person is or has been a member of the Porn Industry, Highly unlikely to be picked up by family friendly groups, (XWF, Rob Black, Luther Reigns, Lizzy Borden)

Notable Booker - workers are sought after for booking positions (Dusty Rhodes, Dutch Mantell,)

Wannabe Rockstar: This worker wants to be a rockstar. Unfortunately, they lack any sort of musical talent. Is more likely to be pulled into backstage scuffles.

Never Stops Talking: This worker will talk about anything, literally. They never shut up, and have an increased chance of being pulled into backstage scuffles.

Goodie Two Shoes: This worker is a goodie two shoes, simply put. Never stepping out of line, always positive, and always helping out. Unfortunately, this works to their disadvantage as being 100% nice never works out in the long run. Has a minor negative influence on locker room morale. Positive morale effects are greatly amplified.

If The Devil Were Mortal...: This worker is as close to a devil as any human can get. Pulling ribs all the time, being a jerk and burying opponents in the ring. Who'd ever work with them willingly? Major negative influence on locker room morale. Morale effects are greatly dampened.

Calm Before The Storm: This worker is generally a very calm individual, but can blow a fuse without warning. Increased chance of being pulled into backstage fights.

The Victim: This worker spins every story to make it seem like they were the victim, even if they started a fight. Has a mildly negative impact on locker room morale. Increased chance of being pulled into backstage events, positive and negative.

Not sure what to call this one, but an attribute that prevents a worker from dating within the business (i.e. another worker in the database) but still allows relationship changes "outside the business"

Also, I think the Natural Trainer should also greatly improve that workers chances of taking over as the owner of an existing school if a spot opens up (unless it does that already, in which case, ignore this).

I don't know if either of these are possible, but I thought I'd suggest them just in case:

Home Advantage: The worker only thrives in their home country. Although they may be happy to compete in other countries, they're less likely to become a star. Furthermore, the attributes "Easily Marketable" and "A Marketing Dream" - if chosen - only apply to their home country.

Underrated: The worker improves their skills at a faster rate than normal during their maturity phase but no matter how good they get, they'll only rarely achieve the success they deserve. [This attribute is only applied to the AI, allowing players to push "Underrated" workers.]

EDIT: While I'm here, I'll just bump one of my previous suggestions too because I still think it warrants inclusion, if possible:

Inside Interests: The worker has interests in other areas of the professional wrestling business. They're much more likely to stop competing within a few years of their debut to concentrate on other roles.

I think my favorite addition to the game is attributes. It really does make the characters feel more of an identity as an individual. The game does do good job at applying the Heel/Baby attributes.

After multiple 5+ year saves seems to be a lack of applying attributes that go towards ratings like Tag Specialist, Creative, Very Creative, explosive, squash, selfish, giving, or even scatterbrained. Didnt see any midas touch, flavor of the month, or in a funk attributes past the ones originally set. There is no generated workers with abilities of marketing good or bad. I don't see any players with attributes added after the game launch like road agent, ref, doesnt work for me, or golden mane.

I think adding Attribute Frequency to Settings would be a great addition. As this could give more customization for the player. Or at least a more heavier output of attributes applied.

I agree this would be awesome.

Had a thought about one the other day when a random "worker changes from Luchador to Regular Wrestler" story popped up in my news feed in-game.

Something like Married to Style - would remove the likelihood that a worker will change style

On the other hand, you could have something like Style Dabbler - greatly increases the chance they'll change styles every two to five years

I just think it's odd to see a masked Mexican wrestler change styles from Luchador to pretty much anything else. I know there are several real-life examples, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't really happen all that often that a lightweight/middleweight flyer out of Mexico will change their style (for example).

<strong>Atypical Addict:</strong> The worker doesn't have the stereotypical "wild" personality but they're still more likely to succumb to addiction. Has a greatly increased risk of developing addictions. (NB: This is NOT a specific personality.)

Genetic Freak: The wear and tear this worker experiences to their physical health is lower than normal, and the performance penalties related to physical health are slightly reduced.

Complacent: This worker will never complain about being left off shows.

Ambitious: This worker is far more likely to complain if left off shows.

Originally From ____: This worker has a strong connection to their homeland and is highly likely to return there if they have no contracts or prospects in their current area.

-- Would need 8 different versions of this attribute for each area, i.e. Originally From Japan, Originally From Mexico, Originally From America, etc.

Settling Down: This worker will stop freelancing after retirement, content to settle into more permanent non-wrestling roles.
