How do you assign someone a manager in TEW 2020?

Click on the very top of the worker page where it says in yellow "Wrestler name" is an XX year old <White American male wrestler (for example)>.

This will pull up the character edit screen that has several different options on it, including manager assignment.

But if I want a mix of having them hire their own workers while I send mine down to them, will I just have to turn on "Accept Developmental Workers" whenever I want to do so and then turn it back off to have them continuing to hire people?

People seem to be dancing around this question for some reason, but the answer is No, you can’t have both in TEW2020 like you could in 2016.

It’s a bit of a bummer really. Personally, I always like my developmental territories to manage their own roster but I can still send them or call up guys as I see fit.

Seems it’s one way or the other now, which anyway you slice and dice it, is a MASSIVE backwards step for the game.

I looked through the manual in-game again and didn't come up with a concrete answer on this. In the Road Agent Notes section it mentions that "recent matches" means you have used it too much. It does not specify more than that.

Is it 4 matches in 6 months like it has been in the past?

I see a lot of people talking about playing as booker rather than owner. Is there any reason for this? All the owner seems to do is hamstring me when I'm negotiating contracts, i can't really see why you would ever play as a booker unless you wanted to move around to other promotions. Is that the only reason or am I missing something?

If I play smaller promotions I tend to just play as the booker just for that little extra challenge that comes with owner veto's, but If I'm playing a big company I play as the Owner 100% of the time. . I despise not being able to outbid the competition just because the cpu owner doesn't understand the value. . It seems especially prevalent in this game. As an example I got into a bidding war for Nicky Champion with USPW. Their initial offer to him was only 232,000 dollars for 2 years, so I made a 255,000 dollar offer for 4 to get him only interested in my offer.

Next day USPW had countered with a 318,000 dollar offer. . .

There's no way I could've come close to that if I hadn't been the owner, and I actually wound up paying him 435,000 just to keep everyone else away lol

That's pretty much how I feel. If I'm not the owner I just lose out on talent.

I was wondering something about real world mods. How does worker regeneration work there? If I have a save go for decades will everybody just retire, leaving the game world empty?

What do the "ranges" between the skills mean? For instance, a guy whom I wanted to use for a Steal The Show match had 53-83 stamina which was apparently too low for even a 14 min match. How exactly do I read the stats then? Is it an actual range of performance? Should I read from the middle? Should I be going with the lowest score first? It seems to be really vague and hard to understand.

(also as a side note, I would really like to know how to fix "a pretty vocal crowd did not seem particularly thrilled with seeing [wrestler name]" because I tried doing an alter ego with a mask and it did not work and idk what to do because it's my player character plz help)

The idea is that you don't get to know the worker's exact stats until you've seen him wrestle often enough. So a rookie starting out has a wider skill range than a 30-year veteran.

To use your example, the wrestler's exact stamina is anywhere between 53 and 83. Since he got tired in a 14-min all-out match, you might have found a clue that his stamina is probably closer to 53 than it is to 83.

You can turn off scouting in your user preferences, if you like. You'll then see exact numbers.

The more unknown the worker is, the less you really know about the worker and thus the 53-83 is a vague guess, as it should be. This can be turned on and off from the preferences/options.

The vocal crowd notes are tied to workers skills, ie. you need good Hardcore skill in Deathmatch promotions and so on. You can find those stats here on the forums, I just can't remember which thread it was.

It definitely still starts with the fourth match and gets harder to avoid from there. I haven't played a proper game long enough yet to know what the time period is but given the rest is the same, six months is a reasonable assumption.

Sorry guys I posted this on the small questions thread but it's gotten lost in the shuffle.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to end a loan?

I am using a real world mod as AEW and every PPV I have scheduled, Jon Moxley (my champion) is unavailable due to commitments to NJPW. His contract shows he is Exclusive Written to me and Handshake, on loan to NJPW.

How can I get him to end this loan or even to prioritize my events over New Japan. I don't want to take the belt from him just yet but at the same time I don't want a champion that doesn't work on PPV :)

Changing your avatar's roles

Trying a local-to-global save with a new company for the first time, and I'm hemorrhaging money like crazy. One of my problems is the $400+ I'm spending on my announcer and colour guys. My avatar is the road agent (and owner / booker) but I was thinking of just ditching my announcers and making him the sole announcer until I grow, even though he's not cut out for that. But I can't give him any role besides road agent. When I click the checkboxes, nothing happens. If I un-check Road Agent, I still can't assign him any different roles.

How can I address that? I don't want to cut down to, like, 10 people unless I have to, and I'd still have to pay locals to flesh out shows. Might as well keep a few guys around to job, right?

Any answers or links to "local-to-global" advice would be helpful. Sorry if this gets asked a lot - I'm new here, and I tried to search the forums before posting.

Without using the editor, I'm not sure if there's a way to end a loan without ending the agreement with NJPW, but have you considered changing the day of the week your PPVs are on?
