The "Booking Committee" Thread, 2020 Edition

Could use some inspiration for a gimmick. Have Lauren Easter signed and want to use her on TV before I get my womens division going but am running low on ideas. She'll be a face if that helps

Have Talia Quinzel already as Bret Starrs GF, Juliet Balconi is a spokesperson for a stable, Danielle Sweetheart is Sammy Bachs best friend(took inspiration from her starting a band in my last save) and have Fuyuko Higa and Hellcat Hernandez already joined into the two default TCW groups.

I'm thinking of running an existential crisis sort of storyline with Phenomenal E.

The idea is that he's a wrestler who's at the twilight of his career, returning home to Canada after spending most of his career in Japan. As he looks back at his life, he feels a strange sense of emptiness. He made a name for himself in Japan but only as one part of a tag team. And now he returns home to a strange land that forgets about him while carrying the baggage of a failed marriage and lackluster career. He grows to resent wrestling and how he wasted his life away.

So my idea is for him to slowly become a twisted, Thanos-like character; A soft-spoken heel who doesn't enjoy what he's doing but considers it the necessary evil to prevent others from experiencing what he's going through. I'm planning on pushing him as a top heel but struggle to come up with his ultimate "evil" plan which is where I need help. The death of pro-wrestling? Injuring people so they're forced to retire and pick a different career path? Create a fascist wrestling regime so he can dictate what pass as acceptable and enjoyable?

Wrestling is a kind of poison. It keeps leading people to ruin. Too many young men left crippled or dead. Too many fans so obsessed with the winners and losers inside the ring they lose sight of the wins and losses in their own lives. He has so little time left and so many to save. It's impossible to fix the world, but he can at least fix one corner of it. He finds no joy in the broken bones of his opponents or the title belts he shatters or the money wasted on the main events he's ruined, but there is a kind of satisfaction in a good day's work in furthering a just cause.

Before his career is up, Phenomenal E will break this promotion. He will drive it out of business. But that's not enough. At this company's last show - and the last night of Phenomenal E's career - he will stand in the middle of the ring as the company's top stars line up and tell him, one by one, that he was right to do it. They will thank him for saving them. And then the fans will thank him.

Has anyone come up with any really good talk show segment names they'd like to share? Hitting a brick wall with what to call the ones I'm trying to plan.

I've got Danny Fonzarelli hosting The Love Shack alongside sidekick Fro Sure and his house band of Rockin Ryan Turner, Stan Manna, and Becca Barton.

Jesus dude, this actually completed an idea I came up with a while ago but scrapped because I didn't know where to take it. Gonna write this down now so I remember it for later

Crippler over Golden at Nothing To Lose 2020?

I'm looking at my SWF save and somehow Golden promised to put over The Crippler one time, so I'm thinking he does it at February PPV for the World Title before the promise expires. Should it be clean, tainted, interference, or distraction and can you think of someone that would have a reason to help The Crippler or wanna damage Golden? or a good story???

So I've been playing around with a EMLL-copycat promotion, but rather than having a Multiverse, I want workers to be heroes from all around the world. I figured I'd make a North American title, Asian title, Europeon title, etc etc. I also plan on converting all my matches to an special match type that allows Submissions, Knock Outs, 10 Counts, and Trapping Finishes. I think the company is Small, or maybe Medium. The highest pop worker i could hire was around 50, and those were limited to the old-timers.

I'm not too familiar with the CVerse workers, but I raided EMLL and the other lucha companies I could for masked workers. I can tell I'm going to have a America-themed stable full of faces, and probably an evil cult-like heel stable at the center of my promotion. If I can get a few good Japanese workers I'll probably give them their own stable.

So I think the highest pop worker I can get, and the one I'll use to help push my young guys is Pablo Rodriguez, but in a fed full of masked super heroes and super villians, I have absolutely no clue how to use him. Anyone care to give me some inspiration? For Pablo, or anything else really.

I posted this in "What's going on in your game" thread as well..

So.. what to do on this?

I had a random moment in my '04 WWE game where Randy Orton got into a fight with Triple H. I'm trying to figure out how to handle this. They are both in Evolution. With Trips actually pull right now, should I pull the plug on Orton in Evolution and slow down his push for time being or should I continue it as nothing actually happened? I'm trying to handle some things in game as true to WWE as possible.

Part of me feels like I should keep Orton in Evolution but slow his push down while another part feels like I should either turn him face and leave Evolution to 3 people stable, pull in another wrestler to replace Orton in the group, or trade him to Smackdown to distance the two. I'm really stumped though at which route I should take.

John McClean, PhD?

I have an idea for Squeeky McClean as a personality/manager.

I'm thinking a heel life coach/therapist/spiritual guru combination who tries to infuse his straight edge approach, plus cheating of course, to help his clients improve/win...

His look would be of a college professor type with a sport coat with the elbow patches, scholarly glasses and an umbrella used as a walking cane to aid his balance ,which has suffered (not really) due to his career ending concussion.

I think I would rename him John McClean, PhD. Or maybe John McClean, Esquire. Dr. McClean.

Thoughts? ideas? additions? tweaks?

Also, how should I introduce him? I was thinking he offers his services to SWF in general through a meeting with Jerry Eisen or a vignette where he answers the phone in his study/office and simply says "John McClean, PhD"

I use Tigre Salvaje Jr with a dark tiger gimmick.. Pablo is an amazing talent and can put on pretty lengthy matches until his stamina starts dropping too low, I'd say run him as full Priest of Pain. The Priest of Pain definitely has a place in the promotion, bringing in the best villains to hear his gospel, carry out his message.. causing pain and heartache for all that approach him.</p><p> </p><p> I had him run a Cult stable with the three aforementioned guys, Guerrero Muerto, Demon King, Bear Berkowski.. darker or deadly characters and when his in-ring skills fade you can give the stable to whomever you deemed his heir. Salvaje started putting in amazing ratings after awhile so I passed the mantle to him, and re-invented Pablo as a by-the-book Priest, trying his hand at saving those from suffering instead now. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Alright, long story short; I am now the owner of a brand new CWA. And I have no idea what to do with half the roster that I have absolved. CWA players, who's worth keeping, who should be canned. I was mostly interested in the TV deal, women's division, and the Canadian popularity. Thought about just running with CWA as a side promotion with their own brand, but I'm open to suggestions.
