Who are your Boys?

Recommended Posts

<p>My boys tend to all fit a formula. I want someone with really good basics, consistency, and selling, with low star quality. Guys that can grow into there other stats either as a tag team specialist or staple of the undercard. Basically think that I’m always looking for a future Robert Oxford, Joel Bryant, or Bryan Holmes.</p><p> </p><p>

Some Examples:</p><p> </p><p>

US: The Ring Generals. Name a fed in the US, Canada, Japan, and even Mexico, I’ve signed the Generals there and let them do there thing. They are kind of the type of guy I hope the others develop to be.</p><p> </p><p>

Canada: Chuck Dorrance and Alister Shufflebottom: One of my NOTBPW saves in 2016 featured me signing both, and them working on my B show every week, putting people over. They basically both were running losing streak gimmicks, until a year and a half later I finally pulled the trigger and had them face each other. It went to a 15 minute draw. They then feuded with each other for like 3 months, literally culminating in a cage match on my B show. Shufflebottom finally got his win. Then, just to be weird, I had Dorrance win the Television title with a fluke roll up 2 weeks later. Was fun.</p><p> </p><p>

Mexico: El Militico Jr. He barely counts. He’s just great, and could be an amazing top guy in multiple promotions.</p><p> </p><p>

Japan: **** I can’t remember his name on the spot, but the GCG student who wasn’t loyal to them in 2016. Shimizu maybe? Yeah, another basics master.</p>

Yeah, I was struggling to think of an answer to this, because I wasn't thinking outside the box with tag teams, and it's definitely the Ring Generals. I almost always run USPW and a sneering, technical tag team going around about how they're REAL wrestlers and that USPW is all style and no substance is money for the tag team division.

not to derail the thread but am I the only one who thinks there was a distinct missed opportunity to make the Casey Bro's tag team Bob's kids?? Lol I honestly thought the were at first..

anyway just to keep it on track my guys are Ricky Turner and Regular Joe. .

Not at all, Brother Bull. I don't know if you remember the Queens of Chaos mod from 2010. Was one Remianen put together to spark a women's wrestling revolution in the C-Verse and make everybody worldwide talent.

Anyway I was one of the guys writing new character profiles for that mod. And when it come time for the unfortunately failed followup in 2013 one of the scenarios I had going in the background was a Bob Casey/Reese Paige fling that resulted in a child. Reason being I love both characters. Bob has been my Boy since 2008 and Reese was a favorite road agent before I realized I could have my more veteran workers fill that role.

Others that I love include:

Ben Williams. Been mentioned already in the thread but dude has done so well from me playing the craziest of characters I had to reference him again. Will probably be main eventing a lot of training feds for me this time around.

Remmy Honeyman: Found him in 2016 and love what a steady Eddie he is. Guy will never be much of note in a promotion of size but at the levels I prefer to play he can be a stalwart.

Pettle: Up until this year anyway. Always had a bit of a render crush on her even when I learned she did have a bit of an attitude backstage. Glad for her that her acting career finally took off but disappointed she can't be my on-screen authority any more.

Aging valets in general: Love using the chicks who are aging out of being valets as color commentators. As much as it was to be expected, I was rather disappointed to see the women like Abi Romanov and Eliza Buckley age into retirement. Not only would I train them as broadcasters but use the sex appeal to do film parodies where my more stoic guys could learn charisma and mic skills. So they always did double duty for me. Great bang for the buck when you're the little guy building the future from the ground up.

Electric Dreamer was my girl as it were. She is so ****ing amazing and its a shame there isn't an all woman national promotion with her as the headliner.

Man, she was a headliner for me in TEW16. Electric Blue were my New Day (with Mystery Pink) and each of them had at least 1 world title reign. At Global. On top of over a dozen Twinstar (main event tag title) and Global Tag title (midcard tag titles) reigns, combined.

My girl is, and always will be, Missy Masterson. While I have much love for Otsune Tsumura, HEART, and Thea Davis, I can play entire saves without them. I refuse to play saves without Missy.

I had a run playing NOTBPW and two years in, Missy's USPW contract came up. When Jeremy Stone blocked my bid for her, I quit the save and deleted it. Yep, it's that bad.

I blame J Silver. His render made her 'click' with me.

You might want to dredge that up. I've already created Elizabeth 'Beth' Taylor (Joshua Taylor + Tracy Brendon) and I'm bound to do more. It seems like this year, there are a lot of workers who had children (or left the business to do so). Coupled with the lack of future debutants, might make a nice Worker file, if not a full blown mod. But I'd like to wait to see the full release to see if Adam's already done it.

<p>My boys were Austin Smooth and Quentin Queen. Always would sign them. Usually made them into the team called Silky Soft. Yeah, and that's because of their names so I made them heels who were all about enjoying the big life.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd also sign up my gals, Maria Guest and Sandra Shine. Put them into a tag team called Guest & Shine. Just a happy go lucky face team.</p>

<p>Also like to add Steve Flash, even though he's not a wrestler in 2020 anymore, he also became an amazing Road Agent in my '16 playthrough, and I also made him the Head Trainer of my Dojo and got an A* rating. </p><p> </p><p>

If I can snag him during a 2020 playthrough I definintely will. </p><p> </p><p>

I also sign Art Reed a lot.</p>

<p>PRIDE Koiso got too talented to be my boy. Now he's retired with a poorly head. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

My ultimate boy from the original TEW, Rex Reeves, has left the business. Sad times!</p><p>

Boy #2, also from the original, Dusty Ducont (neé Bin) has become - against all possible odds - a half-decent wrestler with the biggest company in history.</p><p> </p><p>

Boy #3, Brilliant White, has a job, although since it's with SNP it probably doesn't count as success.</p><p> </p><p>

Fearless Blue... we... we don't talk about Fearless B- PUT THE BAG BACK ON DAMNIT.</p><p> </p><p>

Glen Ward is definitely a boy.</p><p> </p><p>

Evil Spirit I think wins the award for "least changed active wrestler in the history of the Cornellverse". I don't think even his bio has been updated since 2010! Poor guy. </p><p> </p><p>

I think that's it for my boys, in this context. PRIDE Koiso will forever be my boy though, whether he counts as a boy or not.</p><p> </p><p>

I think in 2020 there are a few guys who could easily become boys. Mickey Robson and Gazz Vedmore, Dangermouth, Bryn Archer and Aurelian Bradley...</p>

Will keep that in mind. Loved helping out on the first Queens of Chaos and would happily do so on another Remi mod if one comes to pass. And maybe I can find a way for my girl Abi Romanov to spawn a second generation. :)

Bob Casey and Air Attack Weasel, will always have jobs as Jobbers and Trainers in any company I play...especially if I'm running a dev company.

Three managers/valets/personalities I always hire but are probably a bit more talented than normal....Haley Buck...Dharma Gregg and Sweet Tabitha.

.

One fun thing I did with Evil Spirit in TEW16 was find another japanese worker of the same weight class and build, put a mask on the guy, set his profile pic to a mirrored one of Evil Spirit, and named him "Wandering Spirit". I renamed Evil Spirit to "Cursed Spirit" and made them a supernatural tag team called "The Night Parade". The idea being that they looked so similar under the mask and gimmick they could pull twin spots and also do supernatural stuff with them. They had a great run in my american based indy.

Tsuki Kawamata is another one for me. She's not very good in the ring, or in angles. BUT she's bilingual, so she's handy for Japanese companies hiring American workers or American companies hiring Japanese workers, she's not a drain on the budget, and she's a good influence backstage.

Kid Fantastic has never done me wrong in my custom feds. He's cheap and while he started in TEW16 on the sidelines with a cast on his arm, once he recovered, he quickly learned to work well. Best team I ever had was when him and Logan Wolfsbane had great chemistry theming together.

I did somehow luck out once: While I was in the midst of playing Resident Evil 2 Remake last year, I needed two bodies to fill out a show in TEW16. I hired Murderous Mikey and the Toronto Zombie on a one night deal and threw them together to serve as jobbers for a team. They had great chemistry and were over with the crowd. I signed them together, paired them with a female valet (who I named The Doctor), renamed them as Zombie and Tyrant... and I ran for a year with them just doing 3 minutes squashes on my shows whenever I had a hole to fill. Worked out so well they got signed by another promotion!
