XMultiGames
CGC Canadian Title Match: Xander Robinson vs Dan DaLay Not much to0 say, seems to be another day in the office for Dan Dalay, he should have no problem dispatching Robinson. Land Mass vs Jake Sloan Theres something about CGC that has always favoured the big guys, and this doesnt seem to be any different, right now I see Land Mass and Mammoth as the most serious threat for The DeColt Brothers Tag Title reign, so they need to be kept strong, and this little victories end up helping. No.1 Contender Match: Barry Bowen vs Ed Monton vs Eric Tyler vs Howling Dog vs Jon Jetson vs Steve Flash Barry Bowen right now its the unstoppable machine, it seems just natural to put him against the immovable object that is Steve DeColt, even if he doesn't take the title this would be the toughest challenge DeColt would have, for me this would be the most believable result.
Self
Jerome Turner "Who will challenge for the CGC World Title at this year's WrestleFestival? That's what we're here to find out. After careful deliberation the CGC Matchmaking Committee have chosen six worthy Combatants, but only one can rise above in tonight's main event." BARRY BOWEN Steve Flash couldn't stop me before, and he won't stop me tonight. Put anyone you want in front of me! The teacher! The injun! The Enforcers! I'll run them all through. There's a runaway train a-comin', and it's heading for WrestleFestival! ROCKY PSYCHO VS MARIO HEROIC Jerome Turner "What will Rocky Psycho bring in his first match in CGC? We know he has a temper." Mario's cautious, but Rocky is all smiles, happily exchanging elegant arm drags and fancy head scissors with his young opponent. Mario relaxes, enjoying the sportsmanlike contest, even hitting a lovely heel kick. Rocky Psycho snaps. No elegance. Nothing fancy. He launches himself at Mario, hammering him with punches and stomps and chokes. Mario tries to get some distance, but Psycho crushes him with a cannonball dive. More punches! More stomps! Mario is helpless! Referee Gregory Chapman stops it! ROCKY PSYCHO WINS (6:10) Psycho won't stop the assault and Chapman can't stop him by himself. Security rush in and it takes four of them to pry Psycho loose, leaving Mario a beaten and sobbing mess. HOWLING DOG The elders of my tribe say that we are not here to watch. We are here to experience. In five weeks I do not wish to merely watch the WrestleFestival. I want to experience it from the highest peak, fighting in the main event. I march into the ring tonight part fire and part dream. My feet as swift as forked lightning. My arm a thunderbolt. My soul fearless, with the spirits of my ancestors by my side. DECOLT LOCKER ROOM JULIE FORLETTA stands by with a forlorn ALEX DECOLT. JULIE FORLETTA Last week you were attacked by your old high school nemesis, Dan DaLay. How are you feeling? ALEX DECOLT Honestly, last week was one of the worst moments of my life. Not because of the pain. I'm used to that. It's not about what Dan DaLay did, it's about who he is... and who I become when I see him. Every time I see Dan DaLay I'm back to being 14 years old. Weak and helpless. Hiding in the library because it was the one place I knew he wouldn't look for me. I have spent years trying to be strong. Trying to put that past behind me. And last week Dan DaLay- DAN DALAY bursts in from out of nowhere, throwing a slushie in Alex's face before taking him down and pummeling him. DAN DALAY Gimme your lunch money you noodle armed dork! DaLay takes Alex's wallet and leaves laughing. CGC TELEVISION TITLE MATCH XANDER ROBINSON VS DAN DALAY /w Eric Tyler Jerome Turner "Not too many combatants have been lining up to take on Eric Tyler's monstrous new student." Xander is determined to take the big man off his feet, but DaLay follows his teacher's instructions on blocking suplexes and bullies the challenger with pink-bellies and wet-willies. Xander battles back! Sharp chops! Stiff forearms! But Tyler knows exactly when to give the signal for a Big Boot, and it takes Xander's head off. Tradition Lift (Lifting Double Chickenwing). Xander quits! DAN DALAY WINS (4:40) Jerome Turner "Eric Tyler has found himself a formidable student, but can he get the job done himself in tonight's main event?" Jerome Turner "Last night some of the competitors in tonight's main event were in Medicine Hat for some Canadian Golden Combat. Let's check some highlights." SWITCHBLADE MIKE feels ED MONTON's patriotic fury! Side Canadian Legsweep! Fallaway Slam! 1... 2... 3. Roger Rogers distracts TED MOORE by jingling his keys, allowing JON JETSON to blindside him and hit a Slingshot Suplex for the pin. BARRY BOWEN ducks a punch, hits the ropes at terrifying speed, and runs through MOOSE MULDER with the Train Wreck (High Velocity Shoulder Tackle)! 1... 2... 3. STEVE FLASH WrestleFestival is one of the highlights of my wrestling calendar. I've been there every year, but I've never been in the main event. Tonight's my chance. This is my year. Don't blink. Intrepid explorer Jake Sloan seeks to climb to the highest summit of the gigantic Land Mass, clambering around him before making him run. Land Mass manages to swat Sloan out of the sky, but he's exhausted. Sloan narrowly avoids one Ten Ton Avalanche (Corner Splash), easily avoids a second, but as he prepares to dodge a third, Helen Wheels roller-skates over and grabs his leg. Sloan can't escape and gets crushed! 1. 2. 3. LAND MASS WINS (4:44) INTERVIEW ZONE JON JETSON pushes ROGER ROGERS' wheelchair into the Interview Zone. ROGER ROGERS Last week, I was viciously and brutally assaulted by that monster, Ed Monton. That ungrateful traitor, who talks about integrity and honor, assaulted an innocent disabled man, and have the CGC matchmaking committee done anything about it? No. They've rewarded Ed Monton by putting him in tonight's No.1 Contender match. They've punished my client Jon Jetson, by not handing him the CGC World Title he would have won had it not been for Monton's disgusting actions. I will not tolerate this. The bias. The ableism. Ed Monton needs to be punished... and if CGC aren't going to do it, we'll have to take it into our own hands. Jon Jetson has a steel chain wrapped around his fist. LOCKER ROOM ED MONTON For months I let Jetson and Rogers get out of hand. Cheap shot here. Dirty trick there. I thought loyalty was more important than honour. I thought they wouldn't take it too far. I was wrong. I shouldn't have let it happen, and I'm not aboot to let them get away with more. Rogers and Jetson aren't going to cheat their way to the top. Not while I have something to say aboot it. BARRY BOWEN VS ED MONTON VS ERIC TYLER VS HOWLING DOG VS JON JETSON VS STEVE FLASH Jerome Turner "Six worthy combatants, but only one can challenge for the CGC World Title at WrestleFestival. Let's not wait any longer to find out which." Howling Dog goes on the warpath with tomahawk chops on Jetson, while Flash shows a remarkable mastery of everything Tyler tries to teach him on the mat. Struggling as individuals, Tyler and Jetson form a dastardly alliance, isolating and beating down Flash while keeping anyone else from entering the match. Especially Bowen. Inevitably, the alliance breaks down as Tyler and Jetson argue over who gets to make the pin. Flash escapes and Ed Monton unleashes his patrotic fury! Side Canadian Legsweep! Bridging Canadian Suplex! Barry Bowen has had enough. He's ready to fight and Monton is more than willing to throw hands. He rocks the big man with a few haymakers, but gets launched into the air with a big backdrop! The train leaves the station. Bowen starts gathering momentum, becoming more ruthless and devastating by the second and flattening everyone who gets in his way. A new alliance forms, and it takes the combined efforts of Dog, Monton, Tyler and Jetson to get the train off the tracks and hold him in place as Steve Flash launches himself onto the pile with a big plancha! Everyone's down, but as the referee checks on the carnage, Jon Jetson realises he didn't get hit at all. He throws Dog in the ring and wraps a steel chain around his fist and- Monton shoves the referee in the ring. Francis Long catches Jetson red handed with the chain! JON JETSON HAS BEEN DISQUALIFIED THE MATCH CONTINUES! Jerome Turner "Great call by the referee. You can't bring a weapon into a match just because it's a multi-man!" Jetson is dragged away kicking and screaming as Flash, Monton and Dog give it everything they've got to pick up the victory over one another. Sky High Spinebuster! Fallaway Slam! Flash Bang (Hot Shot)! Heroic kickouts! Last second saves! Desperation kicks outs as they're running out of time before- Barry Bowen's back and he is furious, turning Flash inside out with the Train Wreck (High Velocity Shoulder Tackle) and flattening Monton with a Powerbomb. Dog is all alone, but he slips out of the Powerbomb, and dodges the Train Wreck, derailing Bowen who violently tumbles to the outside! Eric Tyler appears from nowhere and rolls up Dog, pulling the tights for the 1... 2... 3! ERIC TYLER WINS (13:51) Jerome Turner "And just like that we have our challenger! I'd almost forgotten Eric Tyler was in the match. What a shame." INTERVIEW ZONE JULIE FORLETTA stands by with the Soldiers of Fortune; CHANCE and FATE. JULIE FORLETTA A big win for Eric Tyler's School of Tradition, and next week they get a chance for another one. Our Title Bout will be a rematch for the CGC Tag Team Titles. Alex and Jack DeColt defend against the Soldiers of Fortune. CHANCE You got off easy last time, DeColts. Tyler only paid us to rough you up. But this time, he's paying us to take your belts too. FATE And we're bringing one of Alex's old friends for help. DAN DALAY Smell you next week, buttmunch.

A lot of predictions for Barry Bowen to win the main event. I have to admit, going in I felt I may have under-developed Bowen. Not done enough to put him at the 'top guy' level. Glad to see I was wrong. Decent show that could have done with one strong promo. For some reason I couldn't think of anything for Eric Tyler to say, and he was the only good talker in the main event match. He was spectacular in that match, by the way... even though he disappeared for most of it. Jetson and Howling Dog did fine. This was a little bit of a test for them, to see if they could hang with the main eventers. Jake Sloan vs Land Mass was not fine. Possibly the worst TV match I've had so far. As much as I love the idea of booking big fat guys as major players, they sure make it difficult sometimes. Someone who did more than fine was Moose Mulder. His match with Barry Bowen in the Medicine Hat live event was an absolute banger. Potential match of the year candidate? Shame only 400 people saw it. Next time on Title Bout Wrestling... We're too small for a pay-per-view deal, but I could get it on free local TV . Or would that ruin the prestige? I never mind putting events on local TV as long as you don't put it on where you are holding it. Like if it's been held in Alberta, you should broadcast it to British Columbia ( or vice versa). Anybody in the region its being held in who wants to see it, should have to pay and putting it on free tv in that area would mean they could stay at home and watch it, probably hurting your bottom line on attendance for the show. Meanwhile people outside of that region would have to travel 10 hours by car or get a 90 minute plane ride, plus accommodation and transport to and from the venue, it's a lot of hassle. WF isn't at the point yet where people would travel ridiculous journey's to see it, but they might flick it on if it's broadcast on the TV in their area. This probably is too in depth as I'm sure TEW doesn't take this into account but they're my thoughts.
Shmoe II
Feeling pretty pleased with myself for calling the main event! I know CGC is built upon DeColt's versus lumbering blocks of wood - who I now understand are a favourite of yours - but Tyler is the right man for the job. If the goal is to build the WrestleFestival into the 2 Day PPV Spectacular it is destined to be you need stellar World Title bouts. No doubt Bowen will get there, but Eric Tyler vs. Steve DeColt sounds like a damn clinic. Also, best closing line to a wrestling show ever. Charasmatic Enigma
Next time on Title Bout Wrestling... CGC Tag Team Title Match: Soldiers of Fortune vs Alex & Jack DeColt This IS DeColt country after all Hollywood Maverick & Biff the Bruiser vs Moose Mulder & Eddie Chandler The man just had match of the year, give him a win! John McClean vs Black Sheep I imagine it will involve some shenanigans, but I think McClean gets the win Should WrestleFestival be televised? We're too small for a pay-per-view deal, but I could get it on free local TV . Or would that ruin the prestige? I think it depends how much 'realism' you want to apply here. Like DAVEFAN95 says, IRL running on free TV in the local area could potentially hurt your ticket sales - but I think in TEW terms running events on TV is okay. Think of it as free advertising for the brand.

The Blonde Bomber
Roger Rogers is a treat to see each week. I enjoyed Ron Wright's work in Smokey Mountain using the wheelchair gimmick, so his persona of "helpless, fragile, weak" cripple is quite enjoyable. I would like to see him get another client or two so I can get more of him on the show. Though he is a center point in this Enforcers blow up which I'm enjoying. Each week I like seeing the Wrestle Festival ads. Seeing the babyface stars of CGC in carnival scenes gives me a smile. Especially your attention to detail keeping it to babyfaces. Speaking of attention to detail, the fact that you made sure to label that Rogers & Jetson were in the interview zone, while Monton was in the locker room was great. That little thing clears up any plothole or logic flaw. I appreciate stuff like that. Giving the competitors of the main event promos through the show was a good way to hype it up. Made me unsure who'd win, though I assumed a babyface. That can be the obvious nature of number one contender matches. Usually whatever the disposition the champion is the challenger will be the opposite. Tyler winning was a surprise to me, I was sold on Bowen coming away victorious. You did good setting up the finish. Coming out now I can see Bowen facing Dog at Wrestle Festival. My favorite part of the show was the spot in the Main Event when Jetson got DQed and ejected for attempting to use a weapon. That's some good logic right there. Plus it gives more heat to the Enforcers feud, Jetson can now say he's been screwed twice by Monton out of the World Title. Should WrestleFestival be televised? We're too small for a pay-per-view deal, but I could get it on free local TV . Or would that ruin the prestige? I agree 100% with Davefan. Personally, I go with realism more often than not. To me realistically if a shows running on free TV in the area I'm booking that'll hurt attendance so gotta avoid that. Airing it in a different region I think would be fine.

This probably is too in depth as I'm sure TEW doesn't take this into account but they're my thoughts. I just spent two days google mapping Canadian towns and researching hockey arenas to sort out my live event schedule. There's no such thing as "too in depth" for me. Realism is fun. I hadn't considered just putting it on TV in just one market, but I like that a lot. WrestleFestival takes place in Red Deer, Alberta. Halfway between Calgary & Edmonton for easy access for those fans. So getting on TV in just British Columbia makes sense. Die hard fans might still make the trip, but they were coming regardless of TV. From an in-game perspective, I do want any wrestler popularity growth from this show to impact both areas. The other option is a TV station that runs Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan... but I think that's a move better for the TV show as a whole, when TV contracts come up for renewal. Expanding into Saskatchewan is my goal, but it's more likely to be a consistent weekly push, than a one-off event. 23 hours ago, Shmoe II said: Feeling pretty pleased with myself for calling the main event! No doubt Bowen will get there, but Eric Tyler vs. Steve DeColt sounds like a damn clinic. Despite being smaller myself (billed at 5'8 and 185lbs in my indy career) and loving cruiserweights growing up, I'm definitely a 'size matters' guy. It's impressive. It's realistic. A good big man will always beat an equally good small man. There's narrative meat to that bone. You can make a story out of that. Match ratings are one thing, but story is key. The story is with Eric Tyler. As a spoiler for my February round up, Barry Bowen has actually been my No.3 performers, behind Tyler and Flash. He's absolutely able to deliver a strong main event. It's just not the story I'm telling (this week). 16 hours ago, The Blonde Bomber said: Roger Rogers is a treat to see each week. Although it makes sense that Roger Rogers is based/inspired by something. I may look it up. Rogers is another character I have under-used in my private games, but I'm enjoying writing him here. He's definitely been cornering a few other characters on live shows, looking for chemistry or something narratively interesting. As for the DQ.... there was an argument in the Dog Pound a while back about WWE/AEW multi-man matches. Some folks claimed that they had to be No Disqualification, because there was simply no way to do a disqualification in a multi-man. In response, I wrote this. Of course you can disqualify someone in a multi-man. Or a battle royal. Or a pub quiz. If you cheat, you're gone, and if the match can continue, it continues. There are always rules.
XMultiGames
CGC Tag Team Title Match: Soldiers of Fortune vs Alex & Jack DeColt I could see you having the DeColts dropping the titles here with some Dalay interference just so they can enter Wrestlefestival as the challengers, I just think you might have something planned much more interesting than the Soldiers of Fortune to take the titles of the DeColts, even more with their time in the school of tradition being likely numbered because of the lack of chemistry with Tyler, so Im going with a succesful title defence. Hollywood Maverick & Biff the Bruiser vs Moose Mulder & Eddie Chandler I like to things the comments you make in the aftershow mean something, and with Moose Mulder having a match of the year candidate with Bowen, I think In Character and Out of character you might want to reward him with a man on TV and a victory, and we know that sooner rather than later Chandler will explode into the mainstream. John McClean vs Black Sheep Not much to say about this one, it could go to any of them, I just have predicted faces to win the other 2 matches so in theory a heel needs to win, so in doubt Im giving the win to McClean. Should WrestleFestival be televised? We're too small for a pay-per-view deal, but I could get it on free local TV . Or would that ruin the prestige? Part of me believes you should get as much eyes as possible in your product and getting it on any type of tv helps with that, but the most classic fan in me believes gifting it on free tv, hurts your live attendance and hampers your DVD sales, either option works, choose whichever you think will help you the most in the long run. Self
Jerome Turner "Last month, the DeColt Boys successfully defended their CGC Tag Team Titles from the Soldiers of fortune, but the arrival of Dan DaLay has shaken Alex DeColt to his core. DaLay will be at ringside tonight. Will that be the difference maker in this huge main event rematch?" BACKSTAGE The CGC Tag Team champions arrive. JACK DECOLT immediately sees a crew member struggling to carry some equipment and rushes to go help. ALEX DECOLT freezes in terror when he sees at the other end of the corridor... DAN DALAY laughs and walks away. HOLLYWOOD MAVERICK & BIFF THE BRUISER VS MOOSE MULDER & EDDIE CHANDLER Jerome Turner "Maverick and Eddie Chandler have developed quite the rivalry lately. As have Moose and Biff on live events all across Western Canada." Biff and Moose throw hands, while Maverick and Eddie take things to the mat. No time for teamwork, everyone practically fights their own partners to get their hands on their specific rival. To his credit, Moose tries to encourage some double teams on Biff, but Eddie only has eyes for Maverick. Biff's throws a wild Lariat, but Moose ducks and it takes Maverick's head off. Similarly, Biff ducks a Moose Punch that winds up knocking out Eddie. Neither big man seems to care, as they continue to throw hands at each other. CHANCE, FATE and DAN DALAY hit the ring and attack Moose and Biff. NO CONTEST (7:03) DaLay levels Moose with a Big Boot, while the Soldiers of Fortune take out Biff with a Spinebuster/Senton Combo. Fending off Security, they look to continue the beating on the helpless Maverick and Eddie. ERIC TYLER gets into the ring and calls off the troops. Not those two. He lets the youngsters go free, even helping Chandler to his feet and personally handing him to Security, before taking a microphone. ERIC TYLER Settle down and listen up. School is now in session. Today's lesson is in Timing. I could have won the CGC World Title two months ago, but the timing wasn't right. Where better than WrestleFestival to begin the new era of Canadian Golden Combat? Where better than WrestleFestival to teach the DeColts a lesson they'll never forget? George DeColt's degenerate dream will become his nightmare as I take the heart and soul from the DeColt Family. STEVE DECOLT struts his stuff to the ring. STEVE DECOLT You're a lucky man, Eric Tyler. Stunning Steve doesn't usually do second dates, but at WrestleFestival I'll be making an exception. But don't expect things to go any differently for you this time around. I beat you before I'll beat you again. You can call last week a victory if you want, but anyone with eyes can see you stole it. You hid and let others do the work before sneaking in and- ERIC TYLER I won with a legitimate wrestling move! A reverse cradle. Some know it as the Schoolboy, although I can see why that would be confusing to you, given your obvious lack of experience with both traditional wrestling and fine schooling. Besides, you only beat me before because you cheated. You took advantage of an exposed turnbuckle- STEVE DECOLT Stunning Steve does a lot of things, but he doesn't cheat! You're the one who exposed that turnbuckle. You're the one who tried to cheat. And you did it because you know you're not capable of beating me. ERIC TYLER You have no idea what I'm capable of, boy. So allow me to educate you. You wish to test my qualifications? Pick anyone on the roster, and next week I will take them to school, but only if I get to do the same for you. STEVE DECOLT Bring it on. I'm not afraid of you, your student, or your hired thugs. ERIC TYLER You should be. Because tonight these 'hired thugs' are going to give you a preview of WrestleFestival when they confiscate a pair of belts from around DeColt waists. Jerome Turner "This week the stars of Canadian Golden Combat headed North for a spectacular pair of shows. Friday night we were in Prince George..." WOLFGANG ZIMMERMAN squeezes the life out of TED MOORE with a Ragdoll Bear Hug. Steel chair in one hand and an envelope stuffed with cash in the other, FATE advances on STEVE DECOLT. Steve knocks the envelope out of his hand, sending the money flying! Fate tries to recover the payoff! Running Bulldog! 1... 2... 3! Jerome Turner "... before making our way to Quesnel on Saturday." An unhinged ROCKY PSYCHO yanks TEMPEST APPLEBY off the top rope and hammers him with punches until the referee calls for the bell. TKO! HOWLING DOG tomahawk chops his way out of WOLFGANG ZIMMERMAN's Ragdoll Bearhug, and hits the Sky High Spinebuster for the pin! INTERVIEW ZONE JULIE FORLETTA tries not to get too close as she interviews BARRY BOWEN. BARRY BOWEN I should be headlining WrestleFestival, and I would be if it hadn't been for a cowardly Dog refusing to stay still and take his medicine! Howling Dog! I'm gonna run you down! Splat! Road Kill! Next Week! There's a Runaway Train a-comin', and you can't out-run it! ROCKY PSYCHO VS BOB CASEY Jerome Turner "Rocky has already scored some dominant victories, but his temper is putting him on thin ice with the CGC matchmaking committee." Rocky outwrestles his opponent with elegant arms drags and fancy head scissors. Partly due to skill. Partly because Bob is terrified of making him angry. Bob finally gets (un)lucky with a back elbow, and Rocky Psycho snaps! No elegance, Nothing fancy. He launches himself at Bob and hammers him with punches and stomps. Hapless Bob tries to flee but Rocky starts hurling him into the guardrails. Referee Andy Gordy starts counting them out as Psycho rains more punches, and more kicks... before rolling inside to beat the count. ROCKY PSYCHO WINS (4:11) Psycho immediately tries to continue the assault, but Security have surrounded poor Casey, curled up in the fetal position. FRENCHIE'S FIVE FRENCHIE MARCEL Canadian Golden Combat has ze finest talent Canada has to offer, but some fighters come from far further afield. Who has travelled the furthest to compete between ze golden ropes? JOHN McCLEAN Well this explains a lot! He's not even from here! JOHN McCLEAN VS BLACK SHEEP Jerome Turner "Black Sheep has become a thorn in McClean's pristine side." McClean insists that Black Sheep is thoroughly checked for foreign objects, and Referee Gregory Chapman finds a beer, brass knuckles, fluffy handcuffs, another beer, several packs of cigarettes, and a working tazer. McClean jumps the Black Sheep, determined to wipe the floor with him, until his tights get pulled down during a sunset flip, exposing his tighty whities. McClean tries to pull them up, but Black Sheep keeps his hands busy with madcap mat wrestling, and a little light spanking. McClean pokes the eyes and is finally able to pull up his tights, but turns around to find Black Sheep mooning him. McClean is aghast! Roll up! 1... 2... 3! BLACK SHEEP WINS (6:29) McClean complains to the referee as Black Sheep collects his contraband, cracks open a beer, and celebrates in the crowd. INTERVIEW ZONE JON JETSON has pushed the wheelchair-bound ROGER ROGERS into the interview zone. ROGER ROGERS Last week, Ed Monton continued his cruel and unfair assault on me. He has gone from violently kidnapping me, to now getting my clients disqualified. This costs me money! This is financial abuse! I am being victimised in an unlawful campaign of hate and I demand that CGC officials do something about it! ED MONTON I didn't 'get you' anything. Your boy got caught with a weapon in a wrestling match. What did you think would happen? I said I wasn't going to let you get away with dirty tricks, and I meant it. Referee Francis Long needs to have eyes in the back of his head for this one." Jack takes the Soldiers by surprise with amateur wrestling takedowns and submission attempts, but Alex is completely thrown off by Dan DaLay's presence at ringside. He misses tags. Messes up simple double teams. He accidentally collides with Jack before falling victim to the Soldier's cohesive destruction and getting caught behind enemy lines. DaLay takes great pleasure in watching the Soldiers do exactly what they've been paid to do, bully Alex with noogies and wet willies while keeping him as close to DaLay as possible. Alex frantically breaks free of a double team wedgie and tags in Jack! The Teen Titan explodes with Flying Shoulder Tackles and Suplexes! Canadian Backbreaker! He takes a Chance on an Iron Claw, but Fate intervenes. The numbers game start to catch up to him, while Alex is practically having a panic attack on the apron. Alex is knocked off of the apron and when he gets up, Dan DaLay is looming over him. Alex instinctively backs up, further away from the ring. He can see Jack getting mauled by the Soldiers, but the only way to help is through his old bully. Alex balls up his fists and- DaLay charges, and Alex runs away. Personally, I thought I'd telegraphed it a little too much. I went back and forth on how this would go down in the planning stages, but sometimes you write yourself into a corner by stacking the odds too much against the babyfaces. I had planned to make this save 'canon' by following the actual CGC title changes, but that idea is already out of the window now. In the real CGC history, the DeColts did retain here... but in the real CGC history, Dan DaLay is still working indies, so maybe the whole idea was moot from the start. Any thoughts on the tag belts? I was really stumped for something more interesting than eagles and globes, until I thought of them as tribute belts to the Calgary Wolverines. It took many rounds of AI to stop ripping off the X-Men character. FEBRUARY BUSINESS ROUND UP This month CGC lost $69k. Better than last month, but I'm still disappointed. I really thought it was going to be $30k-40k, which as bad as it sounds I consider an acceptable loss while trying to expand the company. I've pondered a lot of changes, but ultimately I think I have been shooting myself in the foot when it comes to my perception of live events. I've been picturing CGC going to the same small venues I used to perform in when I worked the indies. Gentleman's Clubs. School gyms. Conference rooms in Rugby Clubs. The occasional Leisure Centre. I've added venues to TEW with that in mind, scaled for anywhere between 300 to 800 fans. Even then, I've been wringing my hands together, wondering if smaller Canadian towns even had venues for such things. Forgetting two things. 1) Ice Hockey exists, with 2,000 to 5,000 seat venues all over Western Canada. And 2) CGC aren't a no name indy. They're very popular in Alberta and British Columbia. The game literally tells me a lesser event will draw 1,200 fans. Those extra ticket sales (at $15-18 each) more than likely fix my finances. To an acceptable loss. So there's my fix. Future venues will be set up to resemble small ice hockey venues. Not function rooms in wedding venues. It almost feels like cheating, but no. George DeColt and his boys can draw that, and the towns can hold that. Once or twice a year anyhow. Although speaking of George, I'm noticing he's costing me $2.5k a show. I fixed his son's contracts, but I may have to leave him off some shows. He's mostly behind the camera at this point. Top Performers: Eric Tyler (78 in his only match) Steve Flash (66 in 2) Barry Bowen (64 in 6) Steve DeColt (61 in 6) Ed Monton (55 in 5) - After taking January off, Bowen steamrolls over most of the roster. Worst Performers: Christopher Hart (12) Bob Casey (20) Dirty Frank (20) Mario Heroic (24) Ted Moore (25) - Same guys, different order. Hart is on the chopping block. He's based in America and too much of a project. Punching Above Their Weight: Xander Robinson (46) and Johnny Maverick (45) seem to be getting over despite losing a lot and getting zero promo time. Moose Mulder (41) has been killing it on live events. Most Improved: Steve Flash (up 17 skill points, cheating as he works for 3 promotions) Switchblade Mike (+16) Jack DeColt (+15) Moose Mulder (+12) Black Sheep (+12) Best Show: CGC Live! in Medicine Hat (Week 3 - 62) The DeColts mixed it up with the School of Tradition and Moose overdelivered against Bowen... in front of 400 people. Worst Show: Title Bout Wrestling (Week 3 - 55) Eric Tyler becomes No.1 contender in a show that needed a good promo segment. Decent enough. Best Match: Barry Bowen vs Moose Mulder in Medicine Hat (68). Hellacious brawl. Worst Match: Land Mass vs Jake Sloan (19). Between travel for Land Mass and Sloan's base fee, I paid a lot for this dreck. I could have thrown two local bums $20 each to do better. Watch me book a rematch. Despite being in jail, Christian Faith is repeatedly being touted by online fans as The Most Entertaining Wrestler in the world. Next week on Title Bout Wrestling... CGC Canadian Title Match: Moose Mulder vs Dan DaLay Barry Bowen vs Howling Dog Eric Tyler vs Jack DeColt ... and Eric Tyler names Steve DeColt's next opponent.
StanMiguel
7 hours ago, Self said: Jerome Turner "Last month, the DeColt Boys successfully defended their CGC Tag Team Titles from the Soldiers of fortune, but the arrival of Dan DaLay has shaken Alex DeColt to his core. DAVEFAN95
Dan DaLay I think Moose would be incredible as Canadian champ. I just don't see it happening yet. Barry Bowen Howling Dog has been doing well, but Bowen is on another level Eric Tyler Jack isn't at that level yet but there will be shenanigans here. I say Steve faces either Bowen or SOF in a 2v1 match.
BornToFail
I wander to the GDS forums far less than some years back, so it was a great surprise to see a new CGC diary from you! What a great reason to check the site more often, as the writeups have been as great as they always were, packing a lot of character punch in just a few lines. Black Sheep especially has become a new favourite for me. after just a few shows. Keep up the great work! Projects like these simultaneously make me want to try writing something of my own (outside of stupidly long and dry PGHW updates in the company thread) and absolutely terrified of my perfectionist brain trying to live up to the level of yourself and other legends.

Shmoe II
CGC Canadian Title Match: Moose Mulder vs Dan DaLay - DaLay All Day. Barry Bowen vs Howling Dog - I hear a train a-comin', it's rollin' round the bend. Eric Tyler vs Jack DeColt - For me, Eric Tyler is the MVP so far in terms of how you've written his character. The fun professor lingo/lines don't ever become Dean Douglas-esque, it's more a Demon Headmaster - like the threat feels real whilst still fully committing to all the fun the School suggests. Jack is a prodigy but still has a few lessons to learn! Fantastic last show, Self! I think it's always hard to bet against the DeColt boys, especially when it feels like their reign had barely gotten started but I like the title switch. Story wise for Alex/DaLay it makes perfect sense. As previously stated, Tyler is MVP, Black Sheep is a riot and your characterisation continues to be A1. Start stacking some Canadian bills baby. Deadlines kill the perfectionism I have in my brain. I wanted this to be perfect, so I would have loved another two weeks to work on this before posting. Maybe three. Let's call it a month. Given the chance, I would still be tweaking episode 1 right now... but I gave myself a deadline. I had to post on the first Sunday of 2024, and keep posting weekly to keep things in 'real time' (minus 17 years). This project isn't perfect, but it exists... which is more than I can say for a lot of my projects, inside and outside of TEW. CGC's TV only being an hour long also helps. More wrestling shows should be an hour long.
