What's going on in your game?

Recommended Posts

Playing as SWF in January 2010.

I have hired probably too many workers. It's ok though because I plan on opening a 2nd developement company.

Buddy Garner was brought in to be a trainer. I brought in Steve Flash but am not sure if I am going to make him a trainer or not.

1st and only show I have run I found out Eric Eisen and Christian Faith have great chemistry. This has motivated me to run a program between the 2 for awhile. Don't think it will be for the title but it could be.

Kholov is extremely bad in the ring and may be tough for me to book him in matches. I will be trying to team him with Enforcer Roberts next show.

I'm bringing in an MMA influenced stable to my created global CVerse company. It will definitely include a tag team of Buddy Garner and Billy Russell (who recently got a string of Bs out of Peter Valentine in USPW), and Oleg Dorosklov and possibly a couple of workable generated guys, one of whom is actually called Jonathan Garner (though I may change that to keep options open).

Basically, there are two possible ways I may use them. Firstly, I may present MMA as being just an alternative fighting code to pro-wrestling and have them say that their sport is superior and they are going to prove it. That way I'm not even teasing at a break of kayfabe. The second way I could do it plays with the fourth wall a bit more. I could have the MMA guys challenge some of the more 'gimmicky' guys in my promotion and call them fake. That sets me up for some interesting promos where a lot of what is said could have a double meaning - on the surface saying that Danny Fonzarelli is a fake would be a personal attack on his imitation of the Fonz, but could also be construed as an attack on the pro-wrestling industry.

So, whch way do you guys think I should go with this?

I've decided to resurrect my 0/0/0 company in Scotland, Royal Highlands Wrestling (haven't touched the poor thing in months).

AND, in the final show of 2012... my little old school company put on its best match, show, and highest attendance in its three year history! We hit Small size earlier this year, and thanks to the collapse of MOSC I've managed to bring in a handful of "big" names due to my self-enforced rule of "only sign unemployed workers". Namely Jeffrey McPeterson, Harley Neill, and Danny Patterson, all of whom were part of excellent (by our standards) matches in our December 2012 show.

In fact, the first match of the night was a D when McPeterson defeated Josh Jones, while Peterson continues his quest to bring some "street justice" to the corrupt cop Keith Adams (who dastardly uses his billy club and handcuffs to cheat!)

Meanwhile, the "epic" (for the 90 to 100 people who actually watch our shows) war between The ****ney Rebels and The Woad Warriors (The Dublin Destroyer and The Scotsman) finally reached its climax. First, a brutal (D- rated) battle between Danny Patterson and The Scotsman ended with the monster Patterson victorious, but their attempts to send a message to reigning champion The Dublin Destroyer with an attack on his partner were met with The Destroyer rushing out to make the save... and then brawl with Harley Neill while RHW staff set up the first ever RHW cage match! They managed to set up the structure just in time for Neill and The Destroyer to brawl their way into it, and then put on a critically acclaimed D+ match that easily trumps absolutely anything RHW has ever put on... with The Dublin Destroyer emerging victorious from the brutal, bloody brawl.

Gotta say, it's a cool game. Would've never guessed The Dublin Destroyer would've emerged the way he has as our "break out" star, and he continues to put on solid matches regardless of his opponent and his mediocre skills. Currently looking to overhaul a bit of my roster, perhaps, as Don Henderson and both Daveys London and Celtic have recently hit unemployement. That said, gotta be careful: The Scotsman, as the first ever RHW champion, must be kept near the top! Hey, he might be completely awful, but he's got an easy to book pro-Scotland gimmick, and his occaisonal tag matches with The Dublin Destroyer are actually some of the best we've put on. And heck, the fans have stopped booing him for his absolute lack of skill!

Thanks, it IS a fun game. So fun that I've played another four months since that post!

Brilliant White and Otto Hammerschmidt were both released for "epic suck". Which is a shame, cause I legitimately like the both of them. But neither are getting over, Otto is in decline, and every segment they touch bombs. Brilliant White has fallen from early top heel to midcard nobody... damn shame. Meanwhile, The Minor Annoyance keeps his contract as he's the only thing holding the backstage even close to together... and he's actually cut a few good promos.

However, with their departure comes the signings of The Anglo-Scots Connection and, recently released from ROF, Walter Morgan (who seems a perfect fit for company that's meant to be to the UK what MAW is to the USA). Morgan, in fact, won the small four man tournament in his debut to win the newly created RHW Man Of Steel title, besting Josh Jones in a match that, well... trumped that D+ I had in December. :(:)

Aaaand sadly, The Dublin Destroyer's reign has come to an end. While he was victorious over Neill, Danny Patterson had not yet given up hope to defeat the Irishman... and did just that in a strap match to become the fourth ever, and easily the largest, RHW champion. But his brutal assault of The Dublin Destroyer has now put him in the crosshairs of RHW's most unpredictable force: The Scotsman. Can the scrappy brawler from the streets of Glasgow get revenge for his friend, and possibly become the first ever two time RHW champion?

Oh, and HIW opened up. That was kinda nifty, especially since Geordie Jimmy is the owner with The Highland Warrior booking. Jerks signed up Don Henderson, though...

Don doesnt really fit the glorious HIW but he can make the top men look good.

Brilliant White however could be a star for the Best Promotion in the CVerse...

And its only a matter of time until Jeff McP heads to be a massive name for his dad

Mentioned this one in the TCW thread... but after bouncing through part of the C-verse, I found my way back to a new TCW game. I gave CGC a spin and found that getting to Cult wouldn't be that hard but that spamming DeColt boys got old quick. Then tried USPW again and the combination of flag-waving patriotism and goofiness just didn't do it for me. The discussion of Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods USA from 1234 got me looking at Burning Hammer, but I remembered that running pure wrestling can get old. So it was either TCW or the SWF once again...

Not quite a full month in but things are rolling. Hitting constant B+ grades on Total Wrestling. I feel a bit cheap for doing it, but Cornell has been headlining TV so far rather than Rocky Golden. Really to get the popularity of my main eventers and upper midcarders up a bit without being cheap about it.

Running with the main storylines off the start. I'm going to have Cornell bring The Machines back into the fold for a bit, though that's likely short term as The Syndicate will continue to fall apart. Cornell and Hawkins will end up feuding eventually, but not for awhile.

The other main story is Nemesis coming in. Since the 2nd week of January, he's been appearing randomly backstage at Total Wrestling, talking to the likes of Eddie Peak, RDJ, Vessey... This would have fans speculating as to why he's there. At Malice in Wonderland, he's going to be revealed as the manager and mentor of Rocky Golden. Stealing judiciously from Derek here. Nemesis will gradually help Golden learn to use his power and size advantage, while helping him in Entertainment terms. Despite the mentor, Golden will lose the world title to Keith in the first few months. The tentative plan for the belt is a realtively short run for Keith, who will lose it to Minnesota, who will lose it to Cornell by late 2010 (setting up a long-running story that Minnesota can't top Cornell). If everything goes to plan (and it never does), Golden will get the belt back from Cornell in early to mid 2011 and by that point, be a worker worthy of the belt. Or at least closer to that. Beyond that, Nemesis will turn on him and likely lead some kind of stable. Or maybe having Golden turn on Nemesis, who forms a DAVE stable of some type.

I'm trying to avoid the pitfall of signing too many guys. As typical, I signed a bunch of young guys but with the idea that very few of them will get any sort of push. Even the really talented ones will form the lower card for awhile and move up the card "naturally"... by losing. I have a list of established workers that I will try to sign from other promotions and its not that long. In previous games, I would snap up workers likes of Tim Westybrook, John Maverick, or Eddie Chandler if I could. Good workers, but not really great, so I would end up just bloating my midcard. Though it might get tempting since stealing them hurts the other promotions (especially like slowing down North of the Border), I want to avoid those signings unless I come up with a really good idea for a given worker. As opposed to thinking, "Hey, I can find a use for them" and going for it.

Quite happy to see that Shooter Sean Deeley's deal is coming up early in this game. He turned down my first negotiation request, but I'm hoping that he will come around. I'd like to bring him in as a babyface, as one of the "future stars" identified by Nemesis. The thought of teaming him with Golden intrigues.

In the last couple of longer games I've with TCW, I gave them a B show right from the start. Just for something different. Funny how realiant you get on that. Started this one without and I'm missing it. Definitely a priority to land one as soon as possible. As it is, the likes of the Canadian Animals and LA Connection are only on TV to job.

Opened a develpmental promotion called Big Sky Wrestling (using a logo made by aja_NYC) in Boise, Idaho. Stocked it with some promising talent, and a few good trainers. There is just something about having the likes of Elemental, Luis Montero, and Eric Tyler going to Boise, Idaho, that tickles me. Dean Daniels took over as the owner. I have it to touring, but just one show per week.

So far, neither the SWF nor NOTBPW are putting on really strong shows. Which makes me happy. CGC is doing pretty well, though. Interesting to see if the DeColt's can hit Naitonal before the Stone's.

If your looking for a Cena v. Rock type match imho it'd have to be Jack Bruce vs. Sean McFly.

Solid.

I'd say...Bruce, for "this" generation, or Strong for the previous. Rip would be the better match than strong.

Who's face?

...Uh...Masked Patriot. On PPV?

Started yet another SWF Game....

making a long-term Supreme Challenge 30 Card...

SWF World Heavyweight Title Match

Champagne Lover vs Rich Money

Generations Collide Match (Similar to Cena vs Rock)

Christian Faith vs ???

Not sure who i want him to face, which would be the bigger match him vs Bruce? him vs Strong? or him vs Chord?

Angry Gilmore vs Remo

Masked Patriot vs Vengeance

Supreme Challenge 30 (Updated Card-In Progress)

SWF World Heavyweight Title Match

Angry Gilmore vs Champagne Lover

Christian Faith vs Rip Chord w/Jay Chord

Sean McFly vs Jack Bruce III

SWF Uprising Title Match (2nd Brand ME Title)

Steve DeColt vs Marc DuBois

Masked Patriot vs Eric Eisen

-Built Masked Patriot up quite a bit...got him to midcard quite quick..

Robbie Retro vs Remo

Steve Flash vs Steve Frehley

Lover/Gilmore should be fantastic. I'd call that the 'guaranteed A*' of the card (A* equalling 95+, mind). If they're popular.

Faith/Chord, I feel, will only hit the upper 80s due to Rip's physical condition. But that's still amazing.

McFly/Bruce will probably be the highest rated on the card, though not the one with the best action. Maybe. But god...popularity and charisma versus popularity and talent. Excellent.

DeColt vs. DuBois...do you have the psychology for this? This feels secondary (which it seems like the title is), but this is a nice match. Solid in the middle of the card.

Patriot v. Eisen? >______________> How is Patriot doing? Any good, yet?

Remo squash!

Frehley alsosquash! I think it'll do better than Remo, though.

~~

tl;dr: Nice card.

Thanks, DeColt has B psychology and DuBois has C+ psychology but they have had 2 B+ rated matches with eachother so why not try a third...

Patriots doing good, im slowly building him up while burying Eisen...damn I hate the Eisens...C pop in USA and D+ in the UK somehow......his performance skills are around C/B...

I still have nothing for Rich Money yet....either a match with Dan Stone Jr, Bruce The Giant or Edd Stone...

Well this was... oddly disappointing...

Ran Malice in Wonderland 2010 in my TCW game. Decided to main event with the Syndicate vs Freedom Fighters match. Made it long (about 45 minutes) and epic (open match, decisive finish, slow build). Result... A*/100....

I'm usually as happy as anyone to see that A*/100 grade. Somehow its just not as satisfying here. In most TCW games with an adjusted product (just lowered realism), they become a relatively regular possibility a few months in, once the average overness of the main event and upper midcard is up a bit. Its something to build toward. This one doesn't feel like I did much to "earn" it... just kinda happened. I guess calling it disappointing isn't quite accurate. Just not exciting like it typically would be.

How about this: You pulled the best match possible with the company's biggest storyline on the grandest stage of them all.

Not to mention three of its best workers.

Its not unbelievable given the context or anything. Just a surprise because I've run that match at that event with very similar circumstances (no chemistry, everyone with strong momentum) more times than I want to count (I have stated a lot of TCW games on 2010...) and never manged to get even in the 98-99 range. A couple of months in, when all four are in the A/A* popularity levels, yes.

Playing War of the Immortals 2 as TNA. I have three feuds right now for each of the main three titles.

World Title:

Abyss v Jeff Jarrett v Monty Brown

X-Division:

AJ Styles v Samoa Joe v Christopher Daniels

Tag Team:

America's Most Wanted v Motor City Machine Guns v L.A.X

I also added two new titles. TNA Television (midcard title to please my roster expansion) and a X-Division Tag Team (to please the tag team expansion).

This is such a fun mod, had to alter some of the diva's stats since I personally thought they should be higher. But I ended up hiring five or six women to beef up the knockout division. TNA is only cult (Ranked 11) in this mod, so hopefully with my roster expansion I can make it through the first year running Impact (possibly Xplosion), and pay-per-views. Just spent 100k on opening the first of many Impact Zones (this is small, the rest will slowly scale up) which will hopefully garner me more ticket buys.

My custom avatar Brian Chambers starts as a Upper Midcarder, so I am going to use him to help build up some of the lower stars. Hired Stan Hansen and Dustin Rhodes for my tag team division, teaming under the Wild West Cowboys. Also hired the Public Enemy (Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge) to be semi-jobbers in the tag division. But who knows I might give them a decent feud later on. Have one stable which is my jobber stable called "New Blood," although I have to workers in it (Mark Jindrak and Matt Morgan) who will probably break away before too long to focus on the tag titles. If i'm going to have them focus on the tag titles, I don't want them in a stable full of jobbers.

That's all I can think of for now, but I'll be back at a later date with more updates!

I should start this out by saying that I have really been in a rut with the game since ending my MSWA game. I have stopped and started games a lot because none of the promotions really seeked my interest as games I wanted to play for some reason. However that being said after three unsuccessful tries with SWF I finally settled on USPW and I hope to make it a long running game. It probably won't run as long as my MSWA game but who knows here is an update after the first six monthes of play with this game.

I am playing as the Grand Avatar not that it matters who I play as but I thought I would include it in case anyone was interested in knowing what character I am playing as.

However I don't advance book women's matches because they always get low heat when I advance book them so that is why I didn't advance book one.

Note: Just so everyone knows I am going to provide an update for this game in this thread after every six monthes I complete. So this was the first update so my updates will come on the first day of July in the current year and the first day of January of the new year.
