Synticha
I need your help! Tell me some good songs which you think that would be good enough to get to my MMA Workout CD.
Slagaholic
Do you need motivational music, fast groove-tastic music, or aggressive music?
brashleyholland
Whatever gets you pumped! Personally I only have music on when working out on my own, running, etc. If I'm doing drills or sparring, I'm listening to my coach/partner so music isn't an issue. For working out I tend to go with trance/tech-house etc...something to keep pace to. If I'm hitting a bag on my own I stick some oldskool punk on. Synticha
I'm looking for music that pumps you up when lifting weights, punching bag or running. I have few songs already but I don't want to make a CD with just 3 songs

Wrestling Century
If I want to get agressive when I'm working out I listen to a bunch of heavy metal music.

brashleyholland
The rocky theme:D. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! A mate of mine does a strictly-timed circuit and has a playlist for it which plays that song on his final slog on the bike. It's a joy to watch. BHK1978
I have a very lame artist but for some reason his music seems to get me pumped and this is not a joke: M.C. Hammer Two Legit To Quit is some great stuff.
dvdWarrior
This might sound odd, but for me, Dr. Dre & Ice Cube's Natural Born Killer REALLY gets the blood pumping! That and White Zombie's Thunderkiss 65 set visions not of sugarplums but of EC-Dub bouncing through my head, and once that starts, I'm pretty much bouncing off the walls. I'm a wild, wild, wild and crazy dvdWarrior...
Genadi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUnjT4Rp_M0 Always gets the blood pumping, I'd suggest anything with good paced bass and a solid beat.
AfRoMaN36
I have a playlist on my iPhone made just for motivation when I need to get pumped up. I think some of these songs may help your search: Defy You - The Offspring Drowning Pool - Tear Away Drowning Pool - Bodies Journey - Eye of the Tiger John Williams - Superman theme (Wanna fight about it?) Otherworld - Nubou Uematsu Our Lady Peace - Not Enough (Perfect for the perfectionist in you) Queen - We will rock you Rockys Theme (Need I say more?) Seether - Out of my Way (Zach Gowens theme. HIGHLY recommended)
Prophet
Our Lady Peace - Not Enough (Perfect for the perfectionist in you) Not really offering any insight to the original discussion, but this song is phenomenal. Actually, everything off of Gravity is, I believe. As for the original discussion, I think it's all preference. For me, I usually go with whatever strikes me at that moment. It tends to be heavier stuff, like Disturbed's "Ten Thousand Fists" or something, if I'm working out.

Prophet
Abba There was something in the air that night, the stars were bright, Fernando, they were shining there for you and me, for liberty, Fernando ... Little part of me died knowing I know the chorus to an ABBA song. lol
TheEdgeOfReason
Depends what kind of music you want to listen to. The Air That I Breathe by All That Remains is usually a pretty good one for me. If that works for you, I'll post some more.
Sons of Kohral
When I lift, I don't like listening to music at all. But when I run, I only listen to Avenged Sevenfold. Normally I put their song "Lost" on repeat and go 20 minutes with that before finishing up with "Chapter Four".
Synticha
Finally someone with the same music taste as I do! Avenged Sevenfold sure is the best band in the world! (R.I.P Rev). But somehow I just don't find their songs fitting for bag punching :S
Remianen
I tend to prefer truly aggressive music with lyrics that help me focus for most of my soundtrack so a lot of stuff is automatically disqualified. My current playlist is: Stretching phase Just like you imagined - Nine Inch Nails Storms in Africa - Enya Storms in Africa Pt 2 - Enya The Dream - David Sanborn Under the Milky Way - Sia Main phase Black Starry Night - 2Pac Out Here Grindin' - DJ Khaled Out Here Grindin' (Instrumental) - DJ Khaled Every Chance I Get - TI Warrior - Nelly Hellrazor - 2Pac Carry Out - Timbaland feat. Justin Timberlake Moving On Up - M People Alright - Twista feat. Kanye West Aint no Rest for the Wicked - Cage the Elephant I'm So Hood (Remix) - DJ Khaled Luxury Tax - Rick Ross Live Your Life - TI & Rihanna Til I Collapse - Eminem Let's Go - Trick Daddy Symphony - Timbaland, D.O.E., Bran'Nu, & Attitude B*tch I'm From Dade County - DJ Khaled Maybach Music 2 - Rick Ross B.O.B. - Outkast F**k Yall - DJ Quik & Kurupt Pumps & A Bump (Reprise) (Bump Teddy Bump) - MC Hammer Swagga Like Us - Jay-Z, TI, Kanye West, Lil Wayne Pushin' Weight - Ice Cube For Doz That Slept - Black Sheep Warrior, Pt. 2 - Lloyd Banks, Eminem, 50 Cent Lose Control - Timbaland feat. JoJo I'm From the Ghetto - DJ Khaled When I Get Free II - 2Pac Can I Get A.... - Jay Z All I Have In This World (Japanese Denim) - Rick Ross Go Hard - DJ Khaled Cooldown phase Regret (Remix) - LeToya feat. Ludacris Forever - Drake Only Fear of Death - 2Pac To Get With You - Rhonda Smith Always - Rhonda Smith Wetter (Calling You Daddy) Instrumental - Twista Sexy Ladies - Justin Timberlake Book of Days - Enya This is for my basic routine of cardio and speed training (parachute sprints, spinning, bike, etc) and weight training along with some basic yoga, aikido, and kenpo routines. About 2-2.5 hrs a day, six days a week (with stretching on the seventh day). For me it's not just about music cadence but lyrics that basically answer the subconscious "WTF are you doing this for? You're already in shape!" question that constantly floats around my mind.
alden
two and a half hours a day? WOW!!!!!!!!!!! i did not even do that when i worked out the most. Huntman
I won't do songs as there are so many. Mostly I listen to - Led Zeppelin Tupac AC/DC Van Halen Fightstar Journey Paramore
randomfreeze
Ehh...mine is a little different than what has been mentioned so far. I usually listen to complete live shows of the Grateful Dead or symphony orchestra performances. They keep me calm while I work out/exercise which is more important than pumping me up.
