Comradebot
Never noticed this before, but... http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d105/jsilver536/BiggerDanEwe_alt-2.jpg J Silver's Bigger Dan Ewe reminds me of Adam Baldwin. hellshock70
In the Board Effort Mod we have 4 people supplying renders. Some target specific people, some churn out randoms. I've created 300-400 workers so far in just a few months and so far most of them still are renderless but out of my numbers 10% of them I had a set idea of how the character should look. I made my list, I even included pics to base the idea off of. Since then several have been filled by renderers and several were assigned randoms that were good enough to fit the bill. Three in particular where assigned random renders that by far exceeded anything I had in mind. But there are others I'm still waiting on and may eventually assign them a random. Based on this, I'm an advocate of lists but don't abuse it. My Demolition Man line comes from "I think the renderers should lighten up a little but not enough to be run over and I think the people creating massive lists or obsessively wanting this one guy should lighten up A LOT." After all this is the c-verse RE-render thread, they will probably get to them. I'm not going to guarantee that though. Maybe not in your time frame either but cool your jets, you can't force creativity. Let the cake bake before you apply the icing. A large selection in a list for your mod? Fine. A large list in here? No. Keep it simple.

Remianen
While I love the general message of your post, I disagree with the bolded part. In this case, seeing as we're re-rendering characters the entire community know and love, there is a place for non-renderers to give input. For example, when I started working on the BSC girls, I regularly sent WIP images to Remianen, because I knew he'd used those girls a lot and would have his own vision of what they look like. The feedback was very helpful. Heh, what's funny is, like I said before, your FIRST attempt at Dharma blew me away. But I'm willing to bet that you're STILL not happy with the final version. C'est la Self So yeah, I don't agree with Masked Orange's assertion. In fact, the core of my frustration lies with the fact that other people (jtlant, Self, Clarity, Trell, fusionfreak, jhd, among several others) can often hit the picture I have in my head for any given worker, better than I can (and I'm like, you know, attached to my head ). And to add to this I'm content in just watching the awesome work being put out. I no longer feel the urge to say, "Hey, what about him." I quit as soon as I made my post and ewanite went beyond even MY recollection and pulled Yuko Okui. You don't get more obscure (among the women of the C-Verse) than that. The Chosen One
Champagne Lover http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d105/jsilver536/ChampagneLover-1.jpghttp://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d105/jsilver536/ChampagneLover_alt1.jpghttp://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d105/jsilver536/ChampagneLover_alt2.jpg The C-Verse Re-Render Photobucket NICE! As you can see by my avatar... Champagne Lust has always been my favorite C-verse worker, the combination fantastic skills(though now its just better than most) and really interesting character has lead to him being the #1 new hiring whenever I started ANY game. I loved bringing him into the United States and having him the climb the ladder of success to surpass what he accomplished in Mexico... in a lot of ways I would do with him what WWE is doing now with Alberto Del Rio. So with all that said, as someone who LOVES this character... It's AWESOME to finally see someone NAIL a FANTASTIC re-render of the guy. Not only that, to see that you went as far as to incorporate two of the guys best alts into the re-render as well, the shaved head and the infliction gear.... GREAT stuff man... looks like I'm going to have to force myself to get rid of the original render in exchange for this one.

Bigpapa42
Love some of the recent renders. The work here continues to be outstanding. I've been putting together a new TCW game - between some of Kam's alt logos and all the re-renders in here, the game feels so much different than all the previous TCW games I've done. That is awesome.

James Casey
Hah, awesome, was literally thinking just an hour ago that Tornado could do with bringing up to spec with the others in this thread. Great work, J - I really like the way he looks mean but not too high on SQ, exactly as his stats say.

fullMETAL
For some reason, I find it hilarious that you guys are basing your hiring practices off the workers' renders rather than their stats. Remember back in EWR4's "default real world" data when we used to hire workers based on how much we knew them (who DIDN'T want to hire Rock, Austin, and Jericho back then?)? And how WWE would keep hiring the guys we wanted before we could get to them (if you were playing as a different company)? Makes me wonder how you guys are gonna hire your workers when the next gen of TEW comes out (I don't mean TEW2011, I mean the next big evolutionary leap, like from EW9000 to EWR to TEW)... Kobe1724
I love all of you guys work. Sometimes my biggest challenge is deciding which person's version of a render to use, which I suppose is a great problem to have. ^_^

Its nice to have quality visual representations of the workers. In many cases, its not so much that the previous images were poor quality but rather the new ones just seem to freshen up the character. In a text-based game, the visual stuff always helps. Its why its nice that we have logo makers and belt makers and so on. Those things are absolutely unnecessary to the basic process of playing the game, but they sure spice it up and make things more enjoyable. I will admit, I signed Gargantuan and The Big Problem in '08 (I don't have 2010) due to the renders. But then I got a plan.
