Anyone experiencing any luck in the finance department, I'm hiring super cheap guys, got a worker working as a road agent to save money, no announcers and still losing just enough money to be in debt.

I've had 2 games go past 18 months. One is at 3 years 4 months and holding, the other is at 2 years, 2 months and I'm currently playing.

Here's what I found worked for me.

1) hire 5 workers and 1 referee. Hope your owner can be an announcer. Go as cheap as you can.

2) run shows in the first week of each month when possible. (2nd week for the first show so you have your owner signed, hopefully he'll work for free.)

3) Run 1 show per month.

4) if you aren't in a bad economy/wrestling industry/sponsorship product, you should be able to start making a monthly profit by September.

5) If you kept expenses down enough, you'll owe less than $7,000 when you start making a profit, and can be making $2,000/month in profit by March, which will get you out of debt before June 2017 when you'd otherwise be shut down.

Other people run 3-4 shows a month for the first 3-4 months and then stop for 2-3 months to make the money back. It can work, but I haven't tried that and don't know how it would work out.

Good tips but I would give one tweak. Not having an announcer doesn't affect your shows until you have television so I'd get an owner that can be a ref as they can be your most expensive roster member at the beginning. Your other wrestlers can be road agents to because all you need is F+ shows at the beginning.

<p>One year in and I saw some decent progression with my character. I'll post another update after another year or two playing. I saw some small increases in psychology, etc. Even the in ring skills have increased decently. I'm really happy with the progression in the ability to play as a heel. I'm thinking about turning him babyface and seeing that increase too so I can have a wide variety of skills in terms of characters. I also went up in size from lightweight to middleweight and saw an increase in star quality and power.</p><p> </p><p>

So far, my company is still running, but man, it is losing money. While I've managed to keep spending to a minimum, it's going to be awhile before I can make a profit. What is the range a company is allowed to go into debt before closing?</p>

Yep, we got to National around September - just in time to be able to keep most of our talent. (Bizarrely the richest company in the world SOTBPW only took perpetual midcarder tag specialist Dragon Americano from us). So my character wins the King of New York at our final show for the year, in front of 75 000 fans, and being shown around the world (on CommPlanet and our very own network in Japan). A couple of days later Shooter Sean Deeley is nominated the best wrestler in the world and we win pretty much all the major awards. My user character is only 4th <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. We dominate the top 10 of the Power 500, only missing one spot (5th for Nicky Champion at SOTBPW). However I have only ever had one solitary 100 match, predictably in a tag. My stamina means that it's impossible to get a single 100. </p><p> </p><p>

We come in second place in the national battles - it's impossible to compete with Champagne Lover and Nicky Champion. (CL is on time decline so it'll happen eventually). But we're still growing because of our shows. Across the globe the interesting development is the arrival of CommPlanet which means that WLW are now International and growing. CGC are national in Canada with a great little roster including Wolf Hawkins, Steve Frehley, Davis Wayne Newton and .... the 48-year old Dan DaLay. Still. Despite being at the bottom of time decline with 0 in most top row stats, 17 consistency and 0 stamina. Good choice in best friends there Dan.</p><p> </p><p>

SWF and TCW have both hit national at the start of the year so there are currently 5 national companies in the US (SOTBPW and 21CW are the other two). WLW are on the verge as well and will hit US national during January. Despite having less pulling power in Japan than BHOTWG. IF SWF could book themselves properly then they could dethrone SOTBPW from the Pulling Power throne as they have a plethora of dudes with 92+ SQ. Unfortunately they're all loitering around the midcard to no avail. </p><p> </p><p>

I don't know if I want to carry on. In one respect I have the idea of creating a faction of the original workers (Xavi, Silencer, Austin Smooth, Cobra and Hawkeye Calhoun) as bitter veterans angry at the upstarts coming in and "taking over". (I've got some fantastic newgens coming up, as well as Devyn Reynaud who has obviously had a great destiny roll). There's always the aim of getting into the Hall of Immortals as well. But I quite fancy the idea of starting over setting SAW to open in Jan 2016.</p>

<p>Just remember, you don't have to run a show every month. If you take a month off, you'll make back a decent chunk of change. I'm neurotic about being in debt, so I usually only run a show every other month my first year and I come out in a good financial position.</p><p> </p><p>

Another advantage of this is that you fill the game world out with fresh debuts a lot quicker. These guys are very likely to have 0 popularity, and you can fill you roster out with them for much, much less than $200 a worker. Just remember to not cover travel expenses.</p>

<p>I forgot to mention my first roll: 52. "The Real Rock n' Rolla" You've filled in for a band member one night, who now wants to you tour with them as a result. Add +10 between your Microphone and Charisma. Add "Musician" to your character. (Other Genre)</p><p> </p><p>

Awesome haha.</p>

In both of my RTG games I had 8 wrestlers before 2016 ended and 10 before March 2017 ended. I did have to go out and find 6 more, but that was a lot less painful than trying to add 10 new wrestlers in a pop>perf promotion.</p><p> </p><p> But that's part of what makes this game fun. You have to work out how to develop your talent and make them successful. The RtG just forces you to be a bit more methodical and patient than you might be in SWF. In SWF you used to be able to just swoop in and steal a worker from CZCW or another of the regional feds after they had built up the worker. a RtG promotion has to create their starts from scratch and hope they aren't stolen.</p>

The way sponsorship works for a local company is a bit brutal. You have to be so careful about how deep in debt you go in the first 6 months and can't have the wrestling industry or economy be below E+ or you just won't get back in the black in time to avoid bankruptcy.

Yes, unfortunately I've discovered that the hard way. I normally play with smaller promotions (MAW being my favourite), so I figured I could handle it. Nope haha. If I restart, I'll be more careful about how I move forward. I'm considering running 4 shows a month for two months, then taking two or three months off to recoup a bit of the losses.

Some people have reported some success with that technique. I've managed to get a company through the dry period with just 1 show a month, but you end up running with just 5 hired wrestlers. After that some people have pre-set a owner who can be a referee. I allowed the game to assign me an owner and ended up with Marvin Earnest. I used him as an announcer and hired a referee.

Once you get to F popularity it seems to get a lot easier fairly quickly. The sponsor money is enough to pay for shows and you can use your ticket and merchandise sales for profit and slow expansion of your roster.

SCOTIA

So, after a bit of a break from this for my diary game I got back to this and finished year 3 earlier today, taking WAM into the new millennium on a high as we win Most Improved Company of the year for 1999. This is largely in part due to Nicolas Lopez, who delivers a B+/A performance every match and is head and shoulders ahead of everyone else on the roster. He won his second El Rey De La Ringo tournament in January (third if you include the original tournament to crown a champion) and won his third WAM title with the resulting title shot. WAM added more shows this year too, with a “For The Fans” secondary event that showcased more of our undercard whlie the main shows featured Nico Lopez defending the gold against everyone. He is the 7th most popuar wrestler in Mexico at this point, and really should be far too big for us, but is happy making about 2000 a show and being figurehead/champion. As for myself, the extra shows have helped me to grow significantly, and I've been giiving myself a lot of promo time, particularly since turning tecnico in the summer. My babyface skill has exploded due to the 5 or 6 segments I'm in per month, which has seen me grow a lot. We've also been building some homegrown stars, with Chimera in particular looking like a fine talent for the future as a NBT and top of my Talk The Talk screen. Good times. :D

This year I rolled a 20, giving me +5 to my hardcore skill which has already been added for my skills. Another minor skill boost to another skiill that doesn't really need it. :p My progress so far...

Last year saw a lot of growth in the entertainment skills but most of my roster are of a high flying leaning... I've been hiring some new talent lately incluing the well established team of Rafael Ruiz (my first locker room leader) and Mateo Iglesias, who are favourites to become the first WAM tag champions when I crown them in the net few months. January will see the El Rey De La Ringo tournament get a new winner as Nico Lopez won't be involved, and I'm thinking of giving the win to Chimera, who has lost two matches sto Nico so far. The first was in straight falls, the second was 2 falls to 1 with Chimera getting a flash pin. I may go full heel with him and have him bring out the piledriver :o Ryoma “Rocket” Muruyama lost to Nico via DQ with a head drop suplex last year, letting his puro roots get the better of him. Here's how the roster of WAM is doing against the rest of the world too (we're up to rank 16, and E popularity).....

110 (up from 178): Nicolas Lopez – has been getting B rated matches lately, the man is a god around here

168 (up from 321): Rafael Ruiz – just debuted here, he's going to be the anchor for the main event and will be teaching me technical skills

188 (up from 293): Tijuana Vampire – our lead heel, he likes to bloody people and has been delivering C+ performances. Very talented and only getting better

205 (up from 357): Ryoma “Rocket” Muruyama – turned heel to try and best Nico Lopez, he caused Nico to lose his only WAM match this year by turning on Nico in a tag vs Vampire and Del Muerto

231 (up from 281): Aguila Jr – The son of the boss, at over 1200 per appearance I had to wait to bring him in but he arrived in the summer. Has gotten a bit of a nepotistic push but can hold his own

271 (up from 308): Mateo Iglesias – another new signing, I hope he can teach me some skills even though he's on time decline by a couple of years]

281 (up from 382): Scotia – ME! I'm going from strength to strength and with my high reputation I'm hoping to branch out and find another job soon

286 (NEW): Chimera – Barely one year a pro, with huge entertainment skills and some good talent I have high hopes for him as a potential figurehead for the company. May be champion soon.

288 (up from 440): – Del Muerto. The weak link of his team, Del Muerto tends to be gatekeeper to Vampire more than a true equal. Still fun though

290 (NEW): Largarto Verde – The Green Lizard (according to google) is listed as strong in most categories and alo works for MPWF as an upper carder. Very hot prospect

346 (NEW): Super Star – Had a fun midcard rivalry with Pylea for a while (released now) and has Lucia as a manager... is good but directionless for me, so willl get a tag partner. Perhaps El Jabroni.

374 (up from 385): Arana Zafiro Jr – A WAM original but his performances have been underwhelming and he has fallen down the card to a midcard role

435 (NEW): Flex – A new arrival and the most annoying heel in the company, as a NBT he could be great but is firmly in the midcard tag ranks for now

445 (NEW): Pecs – Along with his tag partner, Pecs isn't doing very well so I'm hoping the tag team ranks will help him out

470 (NEW): Pinaculo Jr – The premier face team has been mostly directionless as I build up the division... they are good, but not good enough for a major role yet

480 (NEW): Zenith Jr – As above :p

It's been a fun run with WAM so far as we charge headlong towards Regional. We're making money with every show, though that probably wouldn't be true if we used everyone on every show. We had a 1000 seater sell out for our last show of the year, which was cool. I also decided to turn our first major profits into a 0 prestige dojo, with Bala Carmesi put in charge of that. No idea if we'll get any graduates from there, but I've set it up to be for both genders and with an emphasis on lucha libre.

The world is a strange looking place at this time too... CGC and NOTBPW have both died, giving the SWF a HUGE boost in Canadian popularity and some TV deals... they are still at cult though as they are mostly putting on B- rated shows with a roster gutted by HGC talent raids. SWF's top stars are Sam Keith, Rory McCallum, Sid Streets (who isn't in time decline yet), The Big Easy and Alex Pierce (who is in big time decline). They have some strong undercard talents thanks to NEW, but they have a long way to go. Meanwhile HGC has Sam Strong, Bruce the Giant, Christian Faith (!), Mr Hollywood (Dennis Butlet/Mr Supreme) and Bryan Vessey listed as their top five guys... and guys like Liberty, Vengeance, Dan Stone Jr, Mr Lucha, Jack Bruce and The Hype working below the main event. I really want the HGC job, but they are on the verge of National and put on reguar B/B+ shows so I doubt it will come up any time. Canada also has some insane talent available, including all the DeColts, Jeremy Stone, Runaway Train and many more. :o

So now, back to the game I go! I'm considering moving to weekly shows since we make a lot of money and it would help me to develop my own talent while growing us too... the more to regional is likely to require a significant bump up in production costs but I could sign more of the top guys in the region like Pablo Rodriguez, Luis Montero and Caras Colleccion... not sure what I'll do yet, but it looks set to be a fun year for Scotia and WAM. :D

ALSO... if you were wondering at what point an owner will stop working for free, it seems to be at $10,000. At least it was for Aguila. :)

<p>The last screenshot I took of my skills was taken quite a bit late, a number of months into the second year, so there's not a drastic amount of change here. The biggest change came from my random roll - Nose to the Grindstone, which allowed a 5 point bonus to a top row skill, which I put into Flashiness.</p><p> </p><p>

As far as the company goes, we met both critical goals this year - be ranked at least #40 in the world (Ranked 32nd when the time was up), and have no debt after two years (had a modest but sufficient $6000 in the bank). We're small, and pretty far from jumping to regional. New owners goal to maintain popularity in America feels modest... Additionally we can't hire any psychopaths, or wrestlers with stamina or safety under 35. Oh dear, how shall I survive?</p><p> </p><p>
