As I said earlier I had one game where at my lowest I was -$6,000 and I climbed out quickly once the sponsor money started rolling in. But that was a game where the wrestling industry level meant that I was getting 0.5% Pop every month so by Dec 2016 I was at 6.0. At 0.2% per month you'd have been at 2.4% which is less than I had after 5 months. (IIRC in December 2016 my promotion made more than $1000)</p><p> </p><p> And that is what hurts. The money actually comes in fairly nicely once you get your companies Pop high enough to reach F. Not truly great, but you make enough to pay the bills and perhaps put $1,000-$2,000 in the bank each month.</p>

This one is based on the premise that the "smart" wrestling fans check out the internet and note what people are saying about the experience at the other companies the same size as yours, so if you aren't putting on as good a show with a good policy of uploading top quality video highlights, they tend to look a bit down on your shows overall.<p> </p><p> Not really realistic, but its used to cover a number of things. So, take 2...

WPL, January 1 2017

With a roster comprising myself, Catalina Vasquez ($270), Claire Winters ($210), Cobra ($250), Joanna Silver ($250) and Lily Snyder ($330) together with owner/referee Michael Bull (free, for now), WPL made an impressive showing of 2016.

Running 7 shows, they rose to 3.5% popularity in Mid South and have made three-figure profits in the last two months. Tentative plans to run monthly shows have been put in place, depending on how January goes.

The US is doing... okay, with the Economy/Industry at B-/E+ with both falling. WPL should be okay, ish, for the near future but 2019 may be rough.

James Casey's stats are as follows:

8-0-7 with an E+ average and D+ high (also WPL's best ever match, in the main event of December's season finale).

E- popularity in Mid South, arising from the (slightly embarassing) 8 month WPL title run - I leave the game to decide who to have win most matches, and it kept picking me when it mattered.

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/jcskills2017.jpg

Notable stat changes: +10 to Safety and Consistency, +7 to Stamina, +6 to Basics and Selling, +4 to Microphone, Charisma and Acting.

Only +2 to Psychology, though, and that's not moved since May. I wonder if I've hit a cap already, if I just need better workers to learn from, or if 72 is quite good enough for a 19 year old!

WPL have $6,400 in the bank at the end of the year. The economy will do us well for now, and the industry should be recovering as the economy hits the low point, so that'll be interesting to see.

My annual roll is 8. “LEGEN… wait for it… DARY!” Gain a Best Friend relationship with someone on your roster whose picture is of them wearing a suit. If no-one on your roster is wearing a suit, you must hire someone who wears a suit and become their Best Friend anyway then add +10% to your Drinking habit.

I have no-one on the roster wearing a suit, so off we go to the meat market...

...and we welcome Vinnie Cruz, my new 'Best Friend', to WPL. $310 a show - half our profits in recent months. Let's hope he has chemmistry with someone, or in a few months I'll be telling my 'Best Friend' his services are no longer required...

Year 2 in the books. This year I spent more time focusing on my roster than I did my UC. That coupled with only running one show a month means the stat gains were pretty minimal.

Stats(Increase) For Joseph Cooper (UC):

Brawling: 17(+2)

Puroresu: 7(+2)

Hardcore: 7(+2)

Chain Wrestling: 17(+2)

Mat Wrestling: 16(+1)

Submission: 7(+2)

Ariel: 7(+2)

Flashiness: 7(+2)

Basics: 82(+2)

Psychology: 78(+1)

Safety: 85(+2)

Consistency: 83(+2)

Selling: 78

Athleticism: 79

Power: 27

Stamina: 81

Toughness: 12

Microphone: 12

Charisma: 77

Sex Appeal: 2

Respect: 11(+4)

Popularity: Dropped one point in my home area. About the same everywhere else.

Match History: 2 wins, 0 draws, 8 losses (8-0-20 lifetime)

Best Match Rating: 4 (vs. Robin DeLay(W) vs Garry The Entertainer vs Felipe Cabellero vs Samael The Accuser vs Cobra)

Worst Match Rating: 26 (W vs Martyr)

Average Match Rating: 35

Backyard Championship Wrestling

Size: Local (Great Lakes, 12 Importance, 13 Popularity)

Prestige: 9

Momentum: 15

Finance: $23,877

Best Show: BCW Reckless Abandon in December (51)

Best Match: Seth Whitehead defeated Felipe Caballero and Cobra to retain the Big Man on the Block Title (BCW Anniversary Show, Jan. 2017) 60

Top Wrestler: Samael The Accuser

Top Heel: Felipe Caballero

Plans for 2018:

After boomeranging between small and local, I have capped my size at local until I get enough funds to afford the increase in production costs. I'm thinking $30,000 should be a pretty decent cushion to make the jump. Or I could wait until my Importance hits 15 so it can take the impact of losing a couple monthly battles to PSW. Right now I come in second regularly between myself, PSW, and NYCW. I'm well ahead of NYCW, but just as far behind PSW so it will take some time to climb that mountain.

The Mystery Box:

14. "Painkillers are mankind's way of saying 'just watch me'" +20 to your pain killer habit.

Edit: Some game world news:

- SAISHO, BCG, and MAW went out of business.

- ACPW were given $25,000,000 by a dieing fan

<p>Hey I've never done one of these Road to Glory modes before. Is it acceptable to use a Real World Mod? and do i need to post on here constantly or yearly updates, whats the norm? </p><p> </p><p>

Going to start a RW Mod using Fleish mod for Jun 2016 and your rules. I'll take a pic of my starting stats and promotion and post that in the next few days. If it has to be a specific mod or something please let me know. </p><p> </p><p>

Thanks.</p>

<p>There are no rules as to which mod you use. I've done these in the past, and they have all been Real World mods. This is my first one in C-Verse.</p><p> </p><p>

As far as posting goes, I may be speaking out of turn here, but I'm pretty sure there are no rules on that either. I never posted much on my old RTG's. The reason I am doing yearly recaps this time around is more to keep me focused on the game then letting others know about it. I tend to get destracted pretty easily with this game. When I play one game, I am thinking about what I could do with a different mod. So posting my progress here kind of keeps me focused on sticking with it through some of the boring patches that you can hit when running small companies.</p>

<p>I am about to give the RTG challenge a try for the first time. I will be using the Cornell Verse 97 mod and I have pretty much everything set up ready to go (character and stats, starting promotion). I have one question though that doesn't seemed to be answered in the opening post; what about the character's personality? Is it required to be set to a certain template or am I free to set the character's traits to however I'd like?</p><p> </p><p>

Also, I assume the Start Variance should be set to "Off", correct?</p>

I finally decided to try my hand at an RTG game. My UC is named Diesel and he's an 18yr old beast that can't wrestle to save his life. All of his in ring skills are 0 but the 750 is spread nicely throughout his ent skills and his performance skills. We're a pop over perf fed and we did well for our first show. I kinda used and abused Randall Hopkirk. I signed him on a one night only and jobbed him to everyone on my roster in 1v1 matches. Granted my roster is only about 8 wrestlers but even still. This has effectively placed my untalented sack of crap well into the main event, but I have no plans on making myself champion. I am giving a South East legend Elijah Harris the 1st reign. He and Smooth were set to feud before my idea to destroy Randall and the feud is being continued. I also planned Cobra vs Diesel which again is still going on despite my UC jumping from midcard to main event in one show. This just means our verbal spars will garner more ratings. These are the stats of my sack of crap.

Now he's in the main event? My highest performance rating as of the 1st show was a freaking 8 lol. This is gonna be fun.

<p>So same region, same promotion... Almost same workers. But much better Industry and Economy. I think it was B+ and rising Industry and B+ and falling Economy... It is now at D and Falling Economy and B and Falling Industry.</p><p> </p><p>

We put on 15 shows in 1016, with things going much better this time out, our finances sit at -1,737. Which we should be able to pull back in 5 months with my rough estimate... Or 4 and a Month off if we get that dreaded email in April again.</p><p> </p><p>

We are at 9.2 Pop in Cetral British Isles, which is very pleasing.</p><p> </p><p>

I have managed to not annoy anyone too much this time out with just a little "Simmering Tension" with SHarif after i almost injured him with a botched spot!!</p><p> </p><p>

Annihilus got himself injured for 2 months which was a huge loss... And forced me to once again shove people in the ring who have no rights being there (i cant help it, they are cheaper and Marm Moore changes the product so we need a 'Eye Candy' match).</p><p> </p><p>

The Title...</p><p> </p><p>

BIW KIng of Kings.</p><p>

I am the current champion (i didnt award it to me on my birthday this year i waited till October), after winning the Title off of first Champion Colin Picalo.</p><p> </p><p>

Storyline-wise i am running a Gimmick where i am a little crazy and talk too myself/my voices and am loosely allied with Mark Moore ('Positive Creep' = My shrink), Laurel Wreath ('Pyromaniac' = Fellow crazy person) and Annihilus ('Crusher' = A Mute who lets me and Mark do the talking for him and he does our bidding).</p><p> </p><p>

For my end of year roll i get. . . . . </p><p> </p><p>

11. “P-A-R-T-why? Cos I Gotta!” +20% to your character’s Soft Drugs habit, also tick the “Known” checkbox.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>I could of done without that, that puts my Soft Drugs up to 30%... Good job i haven't let a dirty docter set up shop this time around...</em></p><p> </p><p>

Here is my current stats;</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/wrestling%20stuff/R2G%20Jessie%20Omega-3-Year1_zpspu4dtr4x.png</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Interesting stats;</span></p><p> </p><p>

Bad Idea Wrestlings best show: BIW One Wild Night (E August 2016)</p><p>

Bad Idea Wrestlings Best Match: Russell Nixon defeated 'The Fallen' Jessie Omega (E, Death March October 2016)</p><p>

Highest Attendance: Bad Idea Secret Santa '1' (60, December 2016)</p><p> </p><p>

My Record: 14 wins, 17 losses, 1 Draw.</p><p>

My Best Match: Russell Nixon defeated 'The Fallen' Jessie Omega (E, Death March October 2016)</p>

<p><strong>WPL, January 1 2018</strong></p><p> </p><p>

With an unchanged roster, WPL made it to 5% popularity in the Mid South. We've got enough in the bank (about $15,000) that Michael Bull is now taking his c. $900 salary a month <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/mad.png.69834f23b9a8bf290d98375f56f1c794.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

We ran another 7 shows (odd months + December) as we were pretty much breaking even, more or less, on months we ran shows.</p><p> </p><p>

In the US, the Economy is down from B- to D and falling, and the Industry has hit F-, from E+. On the plus side, the latter should rebound nicely this year... so we'll have lots of fans, who'll have no money to spend on us.</p><p> </p><p>

James Casey's stats are as follows:</p><p> </p><p>

6-0-8 with a D- average and C- high, both a full grade higher than last year. The C- came in the opener of the season finale, against Cobra, who I main-evented last year's season finale against - that match was our best right up until the C-.</p><p> </p><p>

I've hit E popularity in Mid South, and generally the 6 workers in the WPL roster are much of a muchness for overness as wins and losses gettraded largely at random. </p><p> </p><p>

Claire Winters is the current champion, but she's dragging down the show ratings with her E grade matches, so either myself or Cobra will have to take the title off her. Cobra tends to perform better, but I seem to get marginally better match ratings, so flip a coin...</p><p> </p><p>

I've been meddling freely in everyone's backstage relationships, spawning two strong friendships and a third that became a best friendship. That's added about 8-10% to our backstage environment.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/jcskills2018.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Notable stat changes: +5 across the top row, pretty much. +7 to Basics, +10 to Safety, +9 to Consistency, +5 to Selling, +7 to Stamina making me much better as a general wrestler, and a few points gained in entertainment... but a very nice +15 for Reputation! Going off 7 shows, even at 2 matches per show, I'll take that.</p><p> </p><p>

My annual roll is 52. . "The Real Rock n' Rolla" You've filled in for a band member one night, who now wants to you tour with them as a result. Add +10 between your Microphone and Charisma. Add "Musician" to your character. (Other Genre)</p><p> </p><p>

Not bad at all - I think I'll drop that all into Charisma as from memory that's a passive bonus in matches too.</p>

<p>As in, pick who takes over? You can't - it's based on whoever's available in the database at that time with the potential to be an owner.</p><p> </p><p>

I wouldn't have picked Michael Bull as my owner - half-decent referees are ten a penny. A decent road agent, on the other hand, will make all the difference (and stop the incessant 'you have not picked a road agent for this match' messages that I've been getting since, ooh, TEW 2005...)</p>

It seems that in TEW16, they will defer taking a wage until you become profitable, though</p>

<p>Just finished booking year 3.... and a helluva year it was! </p><p>

I'm honestly becoming more interested in developing the talents of my roster than I am completing the challenge at this point, but I digress. </p><p> </p><p>

This year was OUR year. We climbed the ranks and became the ranked 16th company in the world. We made boatloads of money. We brought in our first true "stars" to bolster our roster with names like Brooke Tyler, Fumihiro Ota and a guy who gave me great interest in the last 3 months and has been best for business for us... John Greed. Also we made TONS of money, sitting on a bit over 1.8 mil, we made 244k last month. </p><p> </p><p>

Gidayu is still world champion. He survived John Greed for 3 months, surviving the end of the year in a 96 rated last man standing match... my guy just kinda played that late 2000s jericho role of win some, lose some, doesn't matter.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Gidayu has had 40 defenses and held the title for two and a half years. Its prestige has been 100 for a very long time. </p><p> </p><p>

I debuted a new title over the year, the arena championship, which also quickly climbed in prestige to 100, its being held by brooke tyler.</p><p> </p><p>

Laura Flame formed the hellfire club, which shoutouts to them because they kept the game interesting in the booking the last year. Laura Flame, Texas Hangman and Martyr as a unit are one helluva thing to book. </p><p> </p><p>

Theres a few other things like a dark magic book turning Garry The Entertainer into the sinister figure of "The Puppet Master", Natalie DiMarco and Marie Punnen becoming the B.W.A. etc.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Roster Rankings in the power 50:</p><p> </p><p>
