Run a show a month. The worst you can even get after 18 months of 1 show a month at cheapest workers is about half that debt and that's if you made no money.</p>

<p>Just had NYCW declare hostility towards me. No idea why since I'm still small and run out of Great Lakes but I'm guess it's due to the Regional Battles that I'm drawn into? (Importance spilled over into the Tri-State is now over 11, which I guessing draws me into that mess?).</p><p> </p><p>

Doesn't matter since my shows are better than anything they can put out despite them being regional.</p>

Finally grew to Small Wednesday Week 1 of 1998 (second year). My greatest shows were E+, never had a match rated higher than E+ and never had a wrestler perform better than D. I had 29 total shows. I've got to hire 5 wrestlers. I intend on them all being women so I can start my brand split.

<p>Okay, thanks for suggestions. My last start at RTG was before when sponsorships were a bit higher, so by running one, two or none shows a month I was able to make it easily. </p><p> </p><p>

I remembered people back then used the whole ton of shows thing to get pop quickly for bigger sponsor money, but now the sponsorship goes up so slowly, it's not doable. I'll try this one again with one show per month.</p>

You should be aiming to spend less than 2000 on workers. EVen the worst referee shouldn't cost more than a couple of hundred, then you can use yourself for free and 5 others for about 200 each. With show costs of about 550, that's basic costs of about 2000 a month. You'll make a little back from misc income (I got about 1000 a month in my game) and sponsors while getting about another 500 in other costs... assuming no pay rises for a while, that's about a 1500 loss in the first month which should get smaller every month after that. You don't have any minimum roster penalties at local so that's more than enough, and you can use people more than once per show too (I like to run three singles matches then a three way main event between the winners, that kind of thing).. but you can also hire more people if you want to, they shouldn't have downsides (and don't give them travel costs either) so you aren't paying anyone who isn't there.

Any show you run is going to net you a gain in popularity, so cut all the costs you can. Assuming good growth (which might require a more expensive star to deliver) you should be making money by the end of the year, and well into the black by midway of the second year. :)

That said, I'm tempted to bring in Lucia in my game for a bit of sex appeal.. she might be ideal to throw into the mix with two Pylea and Super Star (details below) and could become the first lady of WAM. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"></p><p> </p><p> Anywho, time for the main update! The "El Rey de la Ringo" tournament was won in January by Lopez, who has been bringing in an extra 4% attendance (an average of about 3 people or $30 per show this year <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png">) and an extra 10% of merchandise sales (about $35 per month) when he's around... hopefully that will increase a lot more each year he remains figurehead as he's by far my most expensive talent, having had his pay raised twice (by 50% each time, his unhappiness has been mitigated by many post show hugs) until I recently had to renew his contract, giving him an insane 2030 per appearance. I am however trimming fat elsewhere as my initial two year contracts are up and the momentumless jobbers are now free to go to make way for a new wave of bargain talent who won't be getting pay rises. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"></p><p> </p><p> We also began running some tag matches this year as Arana Zafiro Jr and Nicolas Lopez team up as the "El Heroes Del WAM" against the scary undead duo of Tijuana Vampire and Del Muerto, known as "Escuadrón de la Muerte" thanks to a google translation of Death Squad. The rivalry between the duos led to Lopez losing the title to Scotia (me, the angry Scottish luchador) who is holding on to it by a combination of rage and relatively weak opponents while the top faces deal with their rivals. Elsewhere on the card Pylea (the egomanical peacock-themed luchador) has been rising up the card and getting a lot of attention but is being upstaged by a new gen worker I have named Super Star (white mask, purple star) who is pretty much mocking him in an over the top fun way. They've been exchanging wins and having a lot of fun. I also have Ryoma "Rocket" Muruyama on the roster while he's on excursion from PGHW and he's fast becoming a rising star for me as a tecnico while another tecnico Lagarto Verde (Green Lizard) genned up and has been doing very well in his early performances, looking like he is one of my best in-ring workers at the moment going by performance levels. Renato Reyes has tunred rudo recently and will likely be going up against them a lot, likely with a new signing who is still to be decided.</p><p> </p><p> I think we are on the verge of hitting small size too given how quickly we've been gaining sponsors. Our November show netted us a C rating while we are consistently in the C-/D+ range for most of the year. That show was headlined by Nicolas Lopez and Aprendiz Jr, while out best match is Lopez vs Tijuana Vampire... Lopez has great chemistry with both which is what landed us C+ ratings, with Lopez delivering C rated matches for most of the year and being the key to our growth. He also works for MPWF though, who have a small TV deal and this may end up pricing him out of the market for us if he keeps gaining popularity with them, as he is now up to C- across Mexico. <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"> Our entries in the Power 500 this year (Hooded Kudo was #1 for BHOTWG) are as folllows:</p><p> </p><p> 178: (up from 390) Nicolas Lopez</p><p> 293: (new entry) Tijuana Vampire</p><p> 357: (new entry) Ryoma "Rocket" Muruyama</p><p> 382 (up from 470) Scotia (user character)</p><p> 385: (up from 494) Arana Zafiro Jr</p><p> 420: up from 487) Masked Rebel</p><p> 463: (new entry) Pylea</p><p> </p><p> As a company we're sitting at #22 of 25 in the company ranking (so I will pass my goal to be at leat #26 in a few days), while sitting at #4 our ot 5 in Mexico. We're behind OLLIE, MPWF and SOTBPW (all regional) and ahead of recently opened QdlL who are also local behind us. We've got F- prestige still but E momentum, both of which I'm hoping will bump up significantly when we hit Small. Our production values are still all rock bottom so I'm worried I may have to spend some to upgrade those, while our bank balance is now sitting at $3,024 after spending a little excessively in celebration of simply being in profit. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"></p><p> </p><p> As for me, I rolled the small Consistency boost (which I've already added in the picture of my skills) and I'm up to E+ popularity in West Central Mexico, which has me spilling over to E- in the rest of Mexico. This has also given me F in the Mid South and South West USA regions, so if a job were to come up there I could definitely consider taking it, with my reputation up to Average as of November. I've also unlocked Motivational Speeches and managed to successfully meddle to get three positive relationships so far... two of them are witih Nicolas Lopez though, who wants far too much money for a company my size and I worry now that if I were to fire him (as my figurehead) that it could wind up being disasterous. So let's hope that it doesn't come to that at any point, even if the Mexican Industry is up to B+ and rising, with the Economy just downturning at B- recently.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline">Stats year 0</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline"> </span></strong><span>http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/SCotia_zpsnyegeuos.png</span></p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline"> Stats year 1</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline"> </span></strong><span>http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/year%201_zpsgpgtunol.png</span></p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline"> Stats year 2</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline"> </span></strong><span>http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/year2_zpszyh1xnos.png</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Year 1 Roll: 28. “A Bumpy Ride” You have devoted your holiday season to training in the ring +5 to your Basics skill </p><p> Year 2 Roll: 31. “Solid? As a Scotsman I get the feeling my character is super angry because he hasn't had enough Irn Bru in the last two years, so he may have to import it. I'm not sure if importing a magic potion like that counts as a performance enhancing drug or if it will have the effect of turning him super evil or if it will calm him down and turn him babyface, which I'm terrible at just now but would hopefully be able to significantly improve upon while I'm at a low level. I've got awesome momentum due to beating a lot of jobbers when I'm not losing to Lopez, so I should be able to take the ratings him from being bad at my alignment easily enough. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"></p>

I'd even say an expensive star isn't required, I managed without one and got the good ole' small level with my most expensive guy costing 180. But you've got everything right. But that's also because the continuous cheapness of my roster allowed for more frequent shows into year 2.

Too many expensive wrestlers. A manager you can't afford. My roster cost me about a 1/3rd of what you're spending right now.

ok, I'll have to try again.

Why are you spending that much on workers when you could be getting people for $200 a time or less?

I'm not seeing many workers for less than $200 unless they are completely unacceptable to me. I actually have some minimum standards for safety and such. :p

You pay for talent. :p If you want to look after your workers you can use the "Keep It Simple" road agent note. It might hurt the match rating a little (but at 0, anything is still good for growth) with the bonus of your workers being safer. :)

True, but I hope to pull of D- level shows quickly. I'm greedy that way. :p

I did get started and while I'm probably still a bit high, its a lot better.

Did get Marvin Earnest as the owner. He told me he'd change the product, but I've locked that. He's the announcer (at 72 announcing. :) )

Roster this time

Joji - face main event - $380

Emma Bitch - heel upper midcard (hired as "icon") - $450 She'll also be the road agent.

Lucas Danger - heel upper midcard - $220

Laura Flame - heel midcard - $240

Natalie DiMarco - face midcard - $150

Kurt Lovenkrantz - ref - $290

That's a total cost of $1730 if I use everyone. (I don't pay travel costs.)

-----

And after my first event I've already found out that Lucas Danger is going to have an extremely short tenure with the company since he showed up on drugs. I got messages about it right away. Fortunately I already talked to Kid Fantastic and have him signed, but he's out still with his broken arm. :p

End of Year Six

- Regional is close, I can taste it - I can't wait any longer. More sponsorship and more importantly, better workers to bring in.

- Matty Faith was a godsend. He's just been tearing it up for me, his last few matches have been over 90 (he rivals my UC for popularity).

- RIPW and NYCW are both hostile towards me :p

- Industry and Economy look to be reaching the highest they've ever been, a nice change.

- I'm now able to hold two shows a month a still make a profit. UC as figurehead since El Mitico left is working well. Attendances up 8% and Merch up by 30%

Year 7 Goals

- REGIONAL. So close yet so far, I've missed too many opportunities at booking jobs that would help Marc immensely (looking at you TCW and BHOTPW).

- Bring in a couple of talented workers to help improve my UC.

Rolled 53, which isn't a bad role except that my UC already had 99 SQ and the extra 1 won't help terribly. 9 to Acting is nice but it's incredibly easy to train up (I'm going up by 8-12 per year as it is). Really could do with a Top Row stat increase though

End of Year Rolls

1. (15) "+20 to your steroid use checkbox"

2. (44) "Go up one level of weight class or body type.

3. (33) “Makeover Time” +14 Sex Appeal, +11 Star Quality, +7 menace

4. (44) “Go up one level of weight class or body type.

5. (07) "That Loving Feeling" Dating Marina Del Ray

6. (26) "10+ to Physical skills (10 to Power)

7. (53) "10+ between Acting and Star Quality (1+ to SQ and 9+ Acting)

Year 1 begins for Cody Lane as he takes over booking in the South East US-based Grey Dog Wrestling promotion. As he was hired by a pencil necked lawyer-type with information that could be described as vague at best, it wasn't until he showed up to work that he discovered his new boss to be renowned play by play man Marvin Earnest. Together, the two are expected to bring a brand of old school wrestling to bars across the Florida panhandle!

<p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">End of Year 2021</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

So the brand splitting worked out ok particularly when I started to actively book the Chicago brand so I could get their shows put on East Coast Today as well. We eventually got the required pop by October 2020 to get onto OnDem. So we finally have our own TV show which should see us reach National in the mere matter of 3 years or so. I tried to use the opportunity to book an invasion angle when I merged the 2 brands but that Went almost as well as the WWE invasion - I couldn't figure out a way to deal with the face/heel situation so I quickly ditched the whole thing. Merging the 2 brands meant I had way too many workers so I've opened a dev territory. </p><p> </p><p>

I'm completely bewildered by the match ratings. It seems that my main events have started a trend of being the worst rated match on our card. I can't fathom it. I was regularly getting A matches on my main shows in 2020 but its much more of a struggle in 2021 for some reason. </p><p> </p><p>

We seem to have had a spate of pain-killer abuse at the company - Captain Wrestling II, Annihulus and Cobra have all been sent to rehab - I said no, no, no. Our big signing at the end of November was Shooter Sean Deeley who, hopefully, will provide the psych and Selling to stop our main events from stinking up the shop. (Relatively speaking). </p><p> </p><p>

My guy is still putting on top row stats and selling but is pretty much maxed out in everything else. Stamina is still his main issue. He spent most of the year teamed up with Yoshima Mushashibo to get Yoshi a decent title run before we had to let him go (wish he would have retired from the ring so I could have hired him as a road agent). Made Young Wrestler of the Year 2 years in a row which probably isn't a bit surprise. </p><p> </p><p>

<p>Year one of Grey Dog Wrestling is in the books! Owner Marvin Earnest and booker Cody Lane took their show all across the south east, getting whatever tips they could from bar regulars. They ran a grand total of 6 shows over the course of that time.</p><p> </p><p>

The GDW Tag Team Championship was awarded to Cody Lane and Logan Wolfsbaine on their inaugural show, after the duo dubbed The Wild Bandits bested Seth Whitehead and Lucas Danger. Over the course of the year they would defend those titles against varying combinations of Whitehead, Christopher Ball, and RObin DaLay, closing out the year as champs.</p><p> </p><p>

Annihilus captured the GDW World Championship, though 99.99999999999% of the world is unlikely to know who their champion is. He also finished the year as champ, beating such names as Hawkeye Calhoun, Garry the Entertainer, and Cody Lane.</p><p> </p><p>

Always devoted to honing his craft, Cody Lane spent his holiday season training his chain wrestling skill, and is sure to come back with more fire in the next year. </p><p> </p><p>

2017 was a good year for Cody Lane and GDW. They upped their show count to an impressive 8 and performed for as many as 31 souls at a time. Despite the good fortune, Lane still reportedly applied for the open booking job at CILL, though he did not get hired.

Though he worked did work this holiday season, Lane took the time to watch tape and saw a marked improvement to his psychology.

End of Year Perk: "A Link to the Past," +5 Chain Wrestling Skill
