This sounds like removing an unnecessary restriction, so I'm all for it.

That said, I'm struggling to think of a reason why I would need to do this. What are some things people are looking forward to doing that are facilitated by this change?

There probably is no reason that you would need to. Some goes for most people, I'd wager. However, as the person who requested this I can tell you my reason for doing so.

I like to name my tour events by the venue that they're held in, so when I look back at my show history I can tell at a quick glance where I've been running shows. A typical example would be "WEXXV 8.18.19 Yokohama Red Brick Arena" (although I'd probably have to truncate it to something like "WEXXV 8.18.19 Yokohama RB Arena" because there probably wouldn't be enough room for all of it, so I really hope we have longer event names this year as well.)

Anyway, what I'd have to do is enter the PM, figure out where I'm going to hold the show, then back out, reload the save, rename the event, then enter the PM again, losing whatever backstage incidents may have occurred the first time.

So now I won't have to do that anymore. This is a big change for me.

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but this would be neat. When searching for workers and filtering certain criteria, it would be neat to save the filter.

For example, multiple filters saved so you can search for certain people instantly without having to change every filter again.

Sheeshus, man. Your post made me realize I've been here for 14 years, as well. How? Like, actually how? There's no way I'm that old. :p

LOL, that's how I feel too. I've literally been on GDS since I was 15 years old and in high school. Now I'm a married 30 year old with a 5 year old son. Time flies right by. I used to think 30 was old, but I'm pretty sure its 50+ now. :p:o

From the Journal - "Spoils Of War: If a company goes bankrupt then anyone they're in a significant war with automatically gains a company-wide morale boost for "winning the war"."

Any chance we might get boosts for buying out a rival company? I'd imagine there was a massive morale boost in WWE when they purchased WCW, knowing that jobs were secure.

Sorry for multiple posts, I worked an overnight shift and got out at 6am -- so my brain is all over the place this morning.

I'm all for the proposed gimmick change, so long as you do include an auto-generated list or a suggestion list. I'm not the most creative person in the world, I can see most of my workers having gimmicks like your example... Fearless Blue (lfjkdlfkjdf), Ernest Youngman (slkwjlwj), etc. It would probably ruin the enjoyment for me because I don't see myself detailing every single gimmick.

And how would game worlds start if there isn't a pre-set gimmick list? Would you have to create a gimmick for every worker on your roster, every single time you start a game?

#13: AI event instructions, "sticky" searches

"Search criteria are now "sticky", meaning that they remain in place unless the player explicitly resets or alters them. Furthermore, they are unique to each player, so the same screen can have different criteria saved for each user. This makes searching more user friendly as you can leave a screen, come back, and not have to re-enter your parameters."

He's talking about saved "Search Templates" in the same way we can save contracts. As far as I understand the #13 entry, it only keeps the most recent Filter you used active

It'd be cool to have a drop down like in the contracts with saved criteria.</p>

I know what you mean but do you not think their jobs were safe as soon as they won the war? Obviously this went hand in hand with the buy out, but basically I'm not sure it needs two separate boosts?

Were they secure though? Or do you think morale would actually drop for some lower midcarders, knowing the roster was about to become twice as big?

This was actually my thought too. Assuming relatively same sized companies, that’s probably 2 times the people over you than before if they bring the whole roster in.

Please excuse me if this is in the wrong thread. I want to try and keep it brief, but brevity is not my strong suit. Before I begin, if I am in the wrong thread, please direct me to the right one, and I'll gladly post there. I have been playing Adam Ryland games since a friend introduced me to EWR 4.0 back in the fall of 2002. I played that until about 2015 when I discovered TEW 2013, then updated to 16. I am excited for TEW 2020. I love the flexibility, and control TEW gives you. That said, I wish there was a way to have actual dates, a real calendar. I gather that TEW's engine just doesn't allow for it but it was always a cool touch to see an actual date, but I may be alone on that. I was just curious, I haven't seen it in the Developer Journal which I follow along with eager anticipation. I was wondering if any thought was given to expanding the backstage pushes. Example, having the ability to hire people and give them a ring announcer push, or production, or writing etc. I'm horrible with computers, I'm lucky I can turn them on, so I don't know the technical limitations of such an idea, but it was something that I've had on my mind for a while. TEW looks to be an amazing game that I sink even more hours of my life into. Again, sorry if it's the wrong thread, and thanks to Adam and everyone at GDS for a game that has truly kept me entertained for nearly 20 years!

I know that the social storm is a minor feature, but I've envisioned a full game based on this... :D:D:D:D

It really depends on how it works. If it is just like the ea ncaa games. It is always negative and you have no choice over it. It was just painful dealing with it all the time. I know some mod makers don't do alot of traits. So this could afflect that feature too.

So, bungling your handling of it could make things worse and stretch it out for longer than it should run, for example."</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Sometimes more is more. So if we could have some of those decisions that are not a one-off in other parts of the game, I'd be all for it.</p><p> </p><p> I like the social media feature, it is a much needed reality in any simulator nowadays, i think it could be adapted to older eras by changing some lines of code and instead of social media storm it would be a media storm for some interview or public action that went wrong. These things also happened back in the day, but with different triggers, different reactions and different spreading, given the different tools back in the day. Hulk Hogan choking Richard Belzer, for example. Jerry Lawler and Andy Kaufman. </p><p> </p><p> Even the kayfabe plans like the one I mention were a big deal back then because the means of communication were different and the blur between reality and kayfabe was way bigger. But something could still be talked about a lot and become damaging. (or conversely positive and good for a feud heat.) </p><p> </p><p> The eras locking in the type of events is also appreciated and would be what would make the difference in events occurring and what type of decisions or fallout there would be. There should also be the reverse side of the feature where something goes very well and a wrestler gets over one of these events big time, like Lynch in social media.</p>

<p>Just wondering for clarification purposes.</p><p> </p><p>

If we want to see how a match goes via a house shoe we can still schedule the match to take place, correct?</p><p> </p><p>

Also is there an option to “book” or to do multiple of these types of matches. Let’s say a singles match and a tag match or just two or three singles matches?</p><p> </p><p>

Thanks! Really looking forward to the new game!</p>

LOL! I cannot wait to see what some of these CVerse personalities do on social media. Jay Chord instantly came to mind. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

A morale boost for winning a war doesnt make sense and should be removed.

The only person who cares about that is the owner, wrestlers are friends with other wrestlers, and wrestling is just a job, only marks would get a morale boost for winning a 'war' against another company where their friends work. After all, what benefit do workers get from winning? It only hurts them.

What might make more sense would be a morale hit (Though I still wouldn't implement this), especially if the losing company went bankrupt. Less viable options means less potential for workers to make money via leverage in their contracts, and less options they have if they're unhappy and want to leave for greener pastures.

After all we know the chilling effect that wcw and ecw closing had on the business, it meant less money, less everything. It hurt the industry, the only person who got a morale boost was Vince McMahon.

----------

On another topic i hope social media storms are balanced by social media boons. It makes sense if you introduce a feature that gives debuffs that there's also a chance for buffs. In this context...

-worker makes a viral social media post/video, pop or momentum boost.

-worker makes a new popular podcast, vlog or YouTube channel, or appears on one. Pop, momentum or entertainment skill boost.

Etc
