JMPunk
I want to do something with DEFY Wrestling, I was thinking of it being smaller scale with all four shows being taped on one night, ending with a live event per month. So 5 shows a month. 4 get taped at once, then everyone returns for one big event. This would pretty much be everyone being paid by appearance (handshake deals). If they grew and got bigger, I would open a school and PC. Start homebrewing my own talent, they already have a on demand deal on Pivotshare, so they have a opening TV deal. A second idea came up to bring Defiant Wrestling back from the dead, I was thinking as a child company to put those home brew stars to use. So the question is, if I wanted to do a dynasty.. What are some creative ways I could explain someone coming in and purchasing the rights to both companies and start setting this all up. One idea I had was to use Kurt Angle as a authority figure, as would be free and clear by the time the game roles out and I actually start doing this. But I need to come up with a interesting story to build this all around. So I suppose the entire purpose of this was to get ideas for the best way to set this all up, how I should book the shows, and a product type. Other ideas would be to do a working relationship with IMPACT! Wrestling, MLW, maybe even AEW, RoH, and NJPW. So I could borrow some of the alumni to come back and do one-off shows. Makhai
Vibert's Voice Episode 300 - Mailbag - January 1st, 2020 9:51AM "Ok Phil, last one for this Voice Mailbag episode... This one is from Brandon from New Jersey who writes, Love the show, Phil, your chat with the Idaho Punisher is my favorite podcast of all time. And I wanted to ask you, since you never really do the macro side of wrestling. What is the state of the business in North America from your view, top-to-bottom? And do you see another run for yourself anytime soon?" Phil adjusts his collar briefly before answering. "Thank you Brandon. What do I think of the wrestling business in NA? Stagnant. USPW drank Eisen's milkshake and forced him to the old folks home. They have the backing of the biggest broadcasting genius ever, and they're going to be near impossible to run down now. TCW has stood for Tommy Cornell Wrestling, and without him, they've been rudderless. The sandbox is too small for 3 big dogs. Maybe they can find their feet and keep stable TV, find a new fanbase, and rebuild. ICW, GSW, and PSW are really the interesting battle to me right now. There's definitely a market for Extreme Wrestling, and Mitch is doing a great job with PSW, but do we need 3 feds? I don't think so. So the question is, who consolidates first, and who's the dancer left without a partner?" Vibert pauses briefly before answering the second part "As to whether I have another run in me? I mean of course, I do." Phil leans closer to the mic and shifts his voice. "The question isn't if, the question is where, when, and most importantly, why, and who. I think, there's a model out there that hasn't been tried yet. A door left ajar. One that could revolutionize the industry, potentially. But is such a radical departure from the high-spot indy nerd style, and the patronizing family-friendly entertainment one." Phil takes a moment to take a sip of his morning bubble tea. "The question isn't if, it's who lets me try it first, Brandon." Coming Soon: ???: Relentless Hostility ETA: Next week when I buy the thing. Dalton
Two questions fellas

1. Is there a way to embed YouTube videos with BBCode? Googling didn't help much. I'd love to add that to my dynasty.

2. Not really sure how to explain this but I'll try. The only way for imgur images to show up for me on the forums is when I copy the BBCode code from Imgur itself. If I copy the link to an image and do the ] [ / img code on the forum, it doesn't show up. I assume this is because the BBCode code on Imgur includes ".jpg" at the end of the link. But I've seen numerous examples around the forum of someone clearly talking about an image in their post and other posts talking about it as well, but I can't see the image. And yes I do have my settings set to show images lol. Sorry if that doesn't make sense.

WxRobbie
Hey all. Was just trying to gauge if there would be interest in a dynasty that was in a sandbox game. praguepride
So this might not be what you were looking for but in my opinion, the best diaries are the ones you do for yourself. When I first started writing I would do these "hey would you be interested in X or Y" questions and ultimately because I wasn't invested the diary would end pretty fast. Recently I started poking around my old diaries and realized how much I enjoy writing them, and more importantly, reading them years down the road so I'm trying to focus on writing the diary for my future self. 4 years later when the next TEW is being released I want to look at my old threads and reminisce about the fun I had planning storylines and writing up characters.

So ultimately this is my answer for you: If you write it, some people will probably read it and most people will probably not comment on it. If you think it's an interesting idea then do it and commit to it. Many people like myself ignore "young" diaries just because there isn't a point in getting invested if it ends after a show or two but if you stick with it and give it your all and people see it on the front page over and over again climbing up in posts and view counts more people will start to poke into it and offer their thoughts and feedback however that takes a long time commitment so dont' write for us, write for you.

Self
I feel like it gets more conversation going about the booking and the characters itself as everyone seems to have different perceptions and imaginations for the C-Verse wrestlers. There's a poll in the general discussion asking what database players mostly use, and C-Verse is winning. Which at least indicates that players who get involved with the forums lean towards C-Verse. And that would support the idea that those projects attract more of the involved audience. Who comment and predict and read regularly. And Real World players lean towards lurking. A theory. tryker2710
My general perception is that real world mods see a bigger spike in initial readers as they have a connection to what you're doing but there's a bigger drop off over time as you move away from what those people like about the thing as it is in real life
The Nickman
So here’s my idea for a dynasty, folks. I’m looking for some creative feedback about whether anybody would be interested in this or whether it would be a bit boring.

I want to play an attitude era WWF/WCW save set in either late 96 or 97 where I book both sides of the war and play as the booker for each company (I’m thinking Bischoff for WCW and Russo for WWF, bro). I’m thinking the following “rules”/formats for the dynasty:

- owner goals will be switched on, so the bookers will have to live by the rules Vince and Ted set respectively

- only one tv show a week (Raw and Nitro), no B shows, no Thunder or Smackdown, none of that noise

- one PPV per month for each company, probably sticking with the traditional ones to start with

- weekly predictions for Raw and Nitro as well as bonus points for picking the best show each week will be welcomed. Might even figure out a way to incorporate suggestions into booking angles/storylines

- the write-ups won’t be huge, unfortunately. I’ve done a few dynasties in past versions of the game and always burn myself out way too fast with writing up the shows. I want this to be a long time, not a good time, so I think just screenshots of the show will do. I’ll try to make angles as descriptive as text limitations will allow

Keen to hear people’s thoughts/ideas on this. As mentioned in the last point, my main purpose is to get a long-term save going at the expense of well written out shows. If there’s enough interest I’ll do this as a dynasty, otherwise I’ll just play this myself and keep everyone updated in the relevant “what’s going on in your game”/“who are your current champions” threads.
