Diary Preview And Questions Thread

Recommended Posts

Working on an idea set in Cverse 1977 so I can bring in new people to the UK scene without worrying too much about the known landscape.

Which of these works best for that time period and would there be any interest if I finally make a return to the forum with a diary (only if I am sure it will last at least awhile).

Thank you, all feedback welcome

That looks rad as hell.

I prefer the full colour one personally as the sepia-toned one strikes me as a little older than the 70s, but the design rocks. Love those worker renders too.

Also, being British, I always love to see people doing stuff in the UK scene, so I'd definitely check it out.

Thank you, I was leaning towards the colour version. Will post when it's ready to commence

I see what you're saying but the color one seems too good for the 70's while the sepia-toned seems more in line with what you would see back then. Maybe mid-60's.

When I say too good, that is not to say the sepia one is not good (They are the exact same thing, just different color tones) I just think the color would be more 80's than 70's.

In summary, they are both great I do think the sepia-toned one is better for the time period but both are fantastic so you really cannot lose either way. I wonder if a straight up black & white would be even a better match. Heck, there were still promotions over in the U.S. that were using black and white posters well into the 1990's. ECW's program/newsletter was in black and white.

Thank you for the feedback, this is why I am torn! I did try raw black and white but didn't like it as much. I will likely continue to play about with the options before kicking things off. Whilst posters or news articles may lack colour I am likely to use colour for the shows themselves. The hope is it lasts long enough to transition into 1980s style then beyond...

I do believe it's definitely a factor in the recent trend of people (myself included) posting a diary in a different format that allows us to keep it back upped. That said I do believe there is some program that allows you to export/convert the forum into a PDF, part of me thinks Nevermore did this years ago but I not sure.

Edit: On second thought I think it might have been Mistaken who converted a bunch to PDF's I'm not sure how active if he nowadays though or if he posted he method somewhere.

In terms of longevity, I suppose it depends on how in depth the shows are/ whether it's 1 show a month/weekly tv/numerous brands etc. One of the longest I personally can remember is Michgcs WWE's one (hopefully that's not one that's been lost!) that went for like 8 years real time not certain how long in game I'd guess at least 5 or so, which especially considering this is with numerous brands it's an insane achievement. But there's been plenty go a good few years. So good luck keeping yours going, I certainly can't imagine people getting bored of it, I think 9/10 the longer a diary goes the more interesting it is.

Howdy, everybody!

You may remember me from my TEW 2016 diaries and drafts, specifically the WIRE project with southsidehitmen, Uncrewed, and willr0ck. I've finally, FINALLY, gotten the chance to dive into TEW 2020, and I've kickstarted a sequel to one of my TEW 2016 projects: Southern Championship Wrestling.

Backstory: Christian Faith starts an independent promotion in Mid-South, which inexplicably does not have one despite as rich a wrestling tradition as any area of the country. This time around, he represents a consortium of investors who will make random appearances as they see fit (mostly when bad stuff happens). One of them has already shown up ahead of the company's first show!

Here's the thread, complete with a prediction card for the maiden voyage: http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=549931

I'm interested in the timeline you have here, since Nov 18 is after Full Gear!

Your last AEW run is what made me start mine, so can't wait to see what you have in store!

We had always been the game changer since our start. In 1999, we started as Jersey Championship Wrestling and that was the glorious step to our journey of 21 years as we finished 2020 with a crazy super event called Collective featuring the best of indies, 12 shows packed over 3 days which gave fans everything they ever wanted from professional wrestling.

With 2020 now gone, we arrive at 2021 with just one thing in mind, which we have done so far....

What is the TITAN Factory?

In 2011 following his retirement from the ring, “The Titan” Dread knew he wanted to contribute to the world of professional wrestling and give back to the industry that had given him so much. Not wanting the travel or commitment of working for a large company, Dread purchased an old boxing ring and a warehouse near his home in New Mexico. Thus the TITAN Factory was born!

Dread envisioned The Factory as a place a place of rebirth. Here, tomorrow’s larger than life athletes could come and learn to be more than just a generic menacing bodyguard or slow moving monster to be cut down and forgotten. The TITAN Factory would forge future legends. World champions, giants, monsters and heroes who would grace the covers of posters and websites for years to come. Not only would they train fresh recruits from scratch but also retrain the struggling workers who had never learned to properly work their size. This would be the haven of monsters and builder of Titans. Creating a new landscape in professional wrestling that not only challenged the idea that heavyweights can’t work exciting matches but discarded it completely!

Now, over the past decade many men have walked through the doors of the Titan Factory...but only a select few have walked out with Dread’s blessing and the right to call themselves TITANS!
