TEW2020 CornellVerse Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Though some changes are really interesting, overall it seems like it's very boring this year around. Every single locker room is a happy clappy work environment, sitting at 100%, even though there's more red notes to be found than in TEW16. CWA for one should have some things not working out 100%. Some workers must have their own opinion about the merger. I see no indicator of that at all. After all these years there must be workers who've done both and must have a preference for DeColt or Stone and won't. Maybe slap in some simmering tensions here and there to simulate that?

Why is the locker room even a feature anymore? There is no way 10's of workers are suddenly going to change their personality to make it plummit below 70%.

If feels like TEW16 was a much more difficult game to manage, instead of this. Everything just goes supersmoothly: I make money all the time, with any promotion (even CWW ffs) and with zero effort. Even mods I import give me harmonious locker rooms.

I submitted this as a bug as it's pretty obvious it's not working as intended, but it seems to have gotten ignored/deleted? I realise it's not technically a bug, and maybe the cause is the C-verse being too... kind? :p

I get that nobody is complaining as it's making things easier for the player, but why implement something that is hard to screw up? It's like the morale feature in WMMA5. Cool addition, but it's impossible (quite literaly impossible) to get someone to go deep into red. Then why add it?

Hopefully, but as it's not in the patch notes and it probably just comes down to changing one value (being the base rating), I doubt it. It is true Adam is not one for "quick-fixes" like this so maybe he IS holding out on fixing this properly as it's not exactly the most pressing issue atm.

I mentioned in the post I think I identified the culprit and it's the personality system changing some of the "slightly to average negative" attitudes to "positive ones", and that's infesting locker rooms with some much-needed positivity. Definitely don't want to come off as not liking this, but from a gameplay perspective it's just boring. :p

The locker rooms being so harmonious are one of the few things REALLY confusing me, yeah. Would love to see that changed to make it more of a challenge.

I think it's also in part that the nice personalities seem to overwhelm the negative ones by volume.

You need to be properly scummy (bully, egomaniac, selfish, gloomy, scumbag) to have a negative effect and the basic negatives are often mitigated merely by not having negative morale. Added to that and few people seem to naturally be a scumbag and you have a lot of positives

People Person, Lively, Relaxed, Irrepressible -- this are often very very strong and because poor morale doesn't matter as much, it can be hard to dent them.

idk, I haven't played enough to determine whether having 100% is cancelled out by incidents happening. I had a 100% locker room in 2016 and still had troublemakers.

I think the design is that the people who have negative personality traits (because the locker room stuff was based off of the personality sliders that are gone), they will still cause problems and your locker room can spiral out of control. That's why you have bullies and people who are quick to get in fights, etc... As they will cause more havoc to be reeked as the game goes on.

I'm kinda sad that my favourite CVerse promotion (WLW) got screwed, when it was the Exodus owner that had shady business connections. :( I figured it would be them that turned out to be funded by the Yakuza! Boo. :p

#kojima was framed

I think the most upsetting thing is that Watoga dropped the "Sir Winston" moniker and decided to be a more serious grappler. That made me die a little inside.

Has anyone noticed that a lot of the mexican workers have had their names changed to English versions of their names. Not all but I noticed quite a few in EMLL. And like all but two of EMLL's shows are in English. Why are the Mexican promotions with a Spanish speaking audience using so many English names.

I mean in the case of EMLL one can perhaps mentally justify it by imagining it's to make the product more accessible for a potential English speaking audience in an effort to expand internationally.

It always bothered me that Mexican workers had English names and the promotions had English names and the events were English names. In 2016 a lot of workers had their names change to Spanish versions, events were changed to Spanish and so forth. It seems like a step backward to do more English stuff in Mexico. Mexico has a rich wrestling history and I think it would be represented best in their native tongue.

It was a fun two months and I’m ready to continue once the full release comes out.</p>

Something I’ve noticed in RAW (and it was the same for TEW2016) is that there’s a genuine lack of relationships. There’s only about three or four and almost all of them revolve around Matty Wills, his sister and his best friend (I think the only exception is a dislike between Cole Taylor and one of God’s Gift).

I would’ve thought in a company like RAW with some of the long termers that some of the workers would be friends, at least some of the tag teams.

But like I said, TEW2016 was the same. I also can’t speak for the other promotions, they might ALL be like that.

In the other TV Shows section, I would say that any of the stuff regarding the NFL probably should have some impact in Canada even if it is at the lowest level.

Also, where is the ALCS, NLCS, and World Series? MLB might not get the ratings it used to but it still draws around what the NBA Finals gets and it draws in both the States and Canada (I am not sure how popular it is in Mexico). Just seems odd it was left out when it does draw ratings aways from RAW all of the time.

The MLB was destroyed by that dastardly heel, Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz!

On my very first segment of RAW I booked an 89-rated angle which was just Swoop McCarthy calling out the new RAW Television Champion Frogue Element and challenging him to a match, and I was pretty chuffed at that too.</p>

I've... I've made a startling discovery today.

I'm not happy about it. I'm not happy about it at all.

I- just- okay, let's just do this...

Here's Robert Oxford's stats, right?

vnE1dAa.png

Yep. Yep that's correct, exactly how it should be, hahaha yep EVERYTHING IS AS IT SHOULD BE-

Co5y8J2.png

It's... all lies.

The tag name was all lies. Oxford was carrying him all along!

The tandem SHOULD be called A TAG TEAM SPECIALIST & THE FRAUD JOEL BRYANT
