<p>Loving many things about this - the Kenny turn and future 6 man tag between Bulletproof and The Elite will be amazing. Love seeing the Dynasty in AEW, i did think you got it wrong about MJF getting rid of Wardlow as i like that bodyguard gimmick, but this has worked out great <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> great read, and obviously building up a little cult following, which is well deserved <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

AEW Dynamite

Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, FL

Wednesday Week 3, September 2020

Attendance: 5500

<div style="padding: 10px; border: 8px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #FFFFFF; max-width:60%; ";">

AEW Dark Results:

1. Shawn Spears def. Glacier (26)

2. Marko Stunt def. Timothy Burkman (20) (Marko suffered broken ribs)

3. Thunder Rosa def. Emi Sakura (31)

4. Billy def. Luther (29)

5. Lucha Bros def. The Boys (Brandon & Brent Tate) (60!!)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

1. AEW TNT Championship – PAC © def. Jungle Boy – Dynamite starts off HOT with a title match! The chemistry between these two was off the charts, and the result was possibly the best match since [i started this diary in] June! After sixteen and a half minutes of action, PAC put away his challenger with a Shooting Star Press! (80)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

Back from commercial, FTR made their entrance to the cheers of the Daily’s Place crowd. Dax Harwood spoke about their victory over the Motor City Machine Guns last week, and talked about their opponents at High Stakes, the Lucha Bros. The brothers don’t understand tag team wrestling at all; they are products of a flawed system: lucha libre. Lucha libre is a sham style that emphasizes gymnastics over pro wrestling. They don’t even have tag ropes! Just jump in whenever!

Before any more words were spoken, Pentagon and Fenix appeared behind them and laid out the champs! Fenix hit a superkick on Harwood, and then the Lucha Bros hit their package piledriver finisher on Cash Wheeler! Pentagon grabbed the mic and simply stated “CERO MIEDO!” (53)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

2. Tenille Dashwood def. Riho – Dashwood’s surprise appearance on Dynamite two weeks ago shook the women’s division here in AEW. Her AEW career now sits at 2-0 following a nine-minute victory over former AEW Women’s World Champion Riho! (44)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

We got a quick video package highlighting the Good Brothers, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson. The video was the two of them talking to the camera in the back of a pick up truck. Anderson stated that they are here in All Elite Wrestling to back up their friend Kenny Omega, who they claim has been watered down by the Elite. Gallows said that their mission starts tonight with the Best Friends, and after they beat them this week, Bulletproof will end the Elite next week at High Stakes! (39)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

Back from another break, MJF led his new group, The Dynasty, to the ring. He was flanked by Hammerstone, Richard Holliday and Ricky Starks.

Once he was in the ring he grabbed a mic and gave that grin once again. MJF said that they must’ve hurt the big bad Wardlow last week, because the AEW medical team refused to clear him this week and told him to stay home! MJF said that Wardlow was nothing more than a meathead: all brawn, no brains. That’s why he dropped him and picked up some REAL stars. Ricky Starks is Absolute. Richard Holliday understands that the fans are nothing more than money signs. And Hammerstone is the man that MJF should’ve gotten from the get go instead of Wardlow. The perfect combination of muscle and smarts. He said Hammerstone wouldn’t have lost to Cody in that cage match, and Hammerstone wouldn’t have cost him the AEW World Championship at All Out.

The Dynasty is the group that will dominate AEW for the next twenty years! (70)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

3. SCU def. The Nightmare Family – The precursor to the Cody vs. Scorpio Sky match at High Stakes ends with Scorpio Sky pinning QT Marshall! The trios match was action-packed with all six men having a spot.

Post-match, Cody helped QT to his feet along with Dustin and the Natural Nightmares left the ring. Cody stayed and stared down all three members of SCU. Arn Anderson stepped into the ring and stood behind Cody. Scorpio Sky stepped forward to get face-to-face with his opponent. After a few tense seconds, Cody shoved him! Sky flew backwards and was caught by Daniels and Kazarian. Those two put Sky behind them and got right into Cody’s face! Cody had a huge smile on his face as he was pulled away by his coach Arn Anderson. Arn scolded Cody, who stayed smiling as he continued to stare down Scorpio Sky. (69)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

Mr. Brodie Lee and Austin Gunn were backstage. Mr. Brodie said he wanted to speak to Austin’s father, Billy. He said he understands why Billy is afraid for his son. New surroundings, new faces. However, Austin is a grown man now, he doesn’t need his father watching his every move. It’s time for Billy to let go of that leash. The Dark Order is NOT what Billy thinks it is. They help, they rehabilitate, they provide confidence. Austin will emerge as a man capable of standing on his own, he will emerge a champion. The first step is always the hardest, and this time is no different. Mr. Brodie stated that he was here to announce something to Austin, and to Billy. He glanced at Austin who looked back at him with a hint of fear on his face.

At High Stakes, Austin Gunn will take on his father one-on-one! Austin protested by looking up at Mr. Brodie and saying “What?”

Mr. Brodie reassured him by putting his hand on his shoulder and telling him that again, the first step is the hardest. He will emerge a better man. Austin relented and nodded. Mr. Brodie told him that it’s time to prepare as the two walked off. (39)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

4. Brian Pillman Jr. def. Aaron Solow – Pillman Jr’s debut in AEW starts off on the right track as he gets the win over Aaron Solow here! The fans took to him pretty strongly and cheered him throughout the entire match. Do we have a future star on our hands? (23)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

A video package highlighting Jake Roberts and Lance Archer plays, taking place in the same abandoned backwoods area that they have appeared in before. Jake Roberts stated that he saw the fear in Matt Hardy’s eyes when the Murderhawk crashed down on him. In fact, he had to enlist the help of those two kids Private Party to protect him. Next time, it will take a whole lot more than those two to protect him from Lance Archer. Hardy’s time is almost up…the Murderhawk is coming. (61)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

5. Big Swole def. Anna Jay – Big Swole made quick work of Anna Jay here, whose momentum has been stalled ever since her debut match did not go as planned. Swole’s superkick put her away clean in the middle. (20)

As Big Swole was celebrating, she was attacked from behind by…

QjG8i6O.jpg

BRITT BAKER!

Britt Baker D.M.D. has returned! Her knee is healed! She took down Swole with a rolling elbow before putting her in the Lockjaw! Swole screamed in agony as her mouth began to bleed! Eventually Britt let go as she stood over the broken body of Big Swole! (34)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

6. Good Brothers def. Best Friends – The Good Brothers debut match in AEW went as expected as they took down Chuck Taylor and Trent in twelve minutes. The finish came when Karl Anderson threw Trent out of the ring, allowing himself and Doc Gallows to hit the Magic Killer for the pinfall victory! (60)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

The announcers noted that AEW has selected three men to face off in a TNT Championship #1 Contender’s Match next week on the first night of High Stakes, with the winner facing current titleholder PAC the following week! Jim Ross stated that the AEW matchmaking committee wanted to find three men who have not been featured heavily on AEW programming, but whose talent and potential are can’t-miss.

Those three men are Darby Allin, Jack Evans, and Ortiz! (36)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

Backstage, Trish interviewed The Young Bucks. She asked them to speak their mind about Bulletproof and the new group’s actions since their formation two weeks ago. Matt said that simply put, they are heartbroken. Kenny Omega was their best friend for five years. They traveled together across the entire globe, they shared hotel rooms, they never left each other’s side. Hell, Kenny Omega came to Rancho Cucamonga every November for Thanksgiving.

Nick said that they slowly watched Kenny change, starting last year when All Elite Wrestling started. They thought his team and title reign with Hangman stopped those changes, but evidently they were wrong. FTR’s arrival was the point of no return. Something about them sent Kenny in a downward spiral. And now after Kenny turned on Hangman, they knew that he was too far gone.

Matt said that even though Kenny is gone, the Elite is still together. The Bucks and Hangman Adam Page will come out of this stronger than they ever were with Kenny.

Sometimes, it takes something like this to see who your true friends are, and Hangman is a true friend. That’s why they stuck by him. (61)

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid rgb(255,215,0);"></div>

7. Four-Way #1 Contender’s Match for the AEW World Championship: Chris Jericho def. Brian Cage, Orange Cassidy, & Matt Hardy – A banger of a main event on Dynamite! Chris Jericho will finally get his rematch seven months later for the title he lost to Jon Moxley on leap day in February at Revolution! Towards the end of the match, Orange Cassidy was on the outside about to get back into the ring when Taz grabbed his leg. Orange went back to the floor and gave him a superkick in the jaw! Brian Cage saw this and left the ring to go after him! He threw Orange into the barricade and then brawled with him up the ramp. Orange fought back, and the two ended up on the edge of the stage. Orange gave Cage a superkick, causing him to teeter on the edge of the stage, but he kept his balance! Orange responded by spearing him, causing both of them to crash down onto tables off the side of the stage! Meanwhile, Lance Archer hopped the barricade ringside and stepped over the fallen Taz to hop up on the apron. Matt Hardy ran over to knock him off, but Chris Jericho cut him off with the Judas Effect! Jericho pinned him for the victory after a CHAOTIC final few minutes! (71)

CPBHBK: 3/4

Texasrangers13: 3/4

Mattu29: 3/4

Some notes: for the main event, no one picked Hardy :( obviously he wasn't going to win though lol. A lot of you wanted Orange Cassidy, and as much as I love him, do y'all think a Mox/Orange main event would work? :D it'd be interesting to say the least! The TNT title match and Good Brothers/Best Friends matches were definitely predictable but that's okay! Jungle Boy will certainly have his time in the sun eventually! Only two picked Nightmare Family to beat SCU!

Twelve predictions and everyone either went 4/4 or 3/4! Great job everyone!

AEW Dynamite: High Stakes Night 1 Preview

Atlanta, GA

Wednesday Week 4, September 2020

<div style="padding: 10px; border: 8px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #FFFFFF; max-width:65%; ";">iHpF2fO.jpg?2

The first of two action-packed nights of AEW Dynamite: High Stakes is upon us! The card is filled with awesome matchups between competitors chomping at the bits for a chance at their opponents!

Bulletproof vs. The Elite

The main event will feature six incredible wrestlers whose hatred for the other team runs deep. At All Out, Kenny Omega turned on ‘Hangman’ Adam Page after they lost the AEW World Tag Team Championships to FTR. On the Dynamite after, the Good Brothers Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson made their AEW debut by beating down the Young Bucks and Hangman. Hangman has not been seen since that attack, and is surely looking for revenge. Which group will come out on top?

AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR © vs. Lucha Brothers

FTR has dedicated their championship reign to proving that their style of tag team wrestling is the TRUE style. They are looking to take on every team that, in their opinion, disrespects tag team wrestling. They have already beaten the Motor City Machine Guns, and now look to take down one of the best tag teams in the world, the Lucha Brothers!

Scorpio Sky vs. Cody

After Cody stated that he was unsure what was next for him in AEW, Scorpio Sky came to the ring to challenge him to this match, as he is looking to prove that he belongs in the company. The friendly challenge turned sour quickly as Cody is acting like a bully to Sky. SCU got the win over the Nightmare Family last week, so will Scorpio Sky’s momentum continue, or will the American Nightmare prove too much for him?

#1 Contender’s Match for the AEW TNT Championship: Ortiz vs. Darby Allin vs. Jack Evans

Last week, this match was announced with all three competitors looking to move up in AEW. Darby is the only one who has had any sort of championship match previously, a loss to Chris Jericho late last year. The other two men are primarily tag team competitors who are receiving their best shot yet at a title match. This match is shaping up to be a show-stealer!

Bea Pristley vs. Hikaru Shida

Both of these ladies were competitors in the six-way at All Out, a match in which Shida lost the AEW Women’s World Championship to Kris Statlander. The winner here will almost certainly be a top contender for that title!

Hammerstone vs. Joey Janela

MJF’s new big man Alexander Hammerstone’s first match in All Elite Wrestling will be against the Bad Boy Joey Janela! The Dynasty’s arrival in AEW has taken the wrestling world by storm! Was MJF right when he claimed that he should have hired Hammerstone from the beginning rather than Wardlow? A win here for Joey Janela will move him up the AEW rankings, so do not count him out!

Current card for next week…

AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley © vs. Chris Jericho

AEW Women’s World Championship: Kris Statlander © vs. TBA

AEW TNT Championship: PAC © vs. Winner of Ortiz/Darby Allin/Jack Evans

Orange Cassidy vs. Brian Cage

Austin Gunn vs. Billy

Big Swole vs. Britt Baker D.M.D.

</div>

Quick Predictions!

Bulletproof vs. Elite

AEW World Tag Team: FTR © vs. Lucha Bros

Scorpio Sky vs. Cody

#1 Cont. for TNT Title: Ortiz vs. Darby Allin vs. Jack Evans

Bea Pristley vs. Hikaru Shida

Hammerstone vs. Joey Janela

(I decided to split up predictions for the two nights of High Stakes, mainly because the results of night one will have an impact for the card on night two. But I did want to give out the pending card for night two because if this were real then obviously AEW would announce the matches for both nights.)

I am loving cocky Cody which is the direction I assumed this feud with Scorpio would go am interested to see if this leads to a full blown heel turn.

That main event looked an absolute banger! Glad Jericho won. Jericho/Mox 2 needs to happen.

Bulletproof vs. Elite

Bulletproof establishing themselves.

AEW World Tag Team: FTR © vs. Lucha Bros

Huge match. Too early for a title switch IMO.

Scorpio Sky vs. Cody

I actually think Sky can win here. It's the closest one to call. Heart says Sky, head says Cody.

#1 Cont. for TNT Title: Ortiz vs. Darby Allin vs. Jack Evans

Darby vs PAC will be HUGE. Man, I miss seeing PAC on AEW IRL right now.

Bea Pristley vs. Hikaru Shida

I like both of these. Shida will win.

Hammerstone vs. Joey Janela

SPLAT.

dang, now I really wanna see PAC vs. Jungle Boy in real AEW

Spitballing here but honestly, I think Cody holds the TNT title until crowds are back, in which he will lose to a returning PAC. Unless crowds are too far off... An open challenge is a perfect opportunity for him to return and win.

That main event looked an absolute banger! Glad Jericho won. Jericho/Mox 2 needs to happen

You're right, Jericho/Mox needs to happen. I'm shocked it hasn't tbh. It looked like that was the way they were going back in March because the Inner Circle attacked Moxley on the Dynamite after Revolution, but then the world shut down and the plan was changed to Mox/Hager, probably because they didn't expect the no crowds to last this long.

Bulletproof vs. Elite

Bulletproof get a win to cement themselves

AEW World Tag Team: FTR © vs. Lucha Bros

I hate the Lucha Bros

Scorpio Sky vs. Cody

This feud has me a bit confused about what it's all about

#1 Cont. for TNT Title: Ortiz vs. Darby Allin vs. Jack Evans

Bea Pristley vs. Hikaru Shida

AEW women's division just feels like it's missing something.

Hammerstone vs. Joey Janela

Love the MJF stuff. I can see Janela in there too tbh, I feel like hes got more in the tank or he could be a great counterpart to Dynasty. I mean he and mjf got some history though.

Cody stuff is excellent. I've never been a fan of Cody, but i think hes definetly better as a sleazeball than being a big face.

But then the video pivots to his tag team title loss to Adam Page & Kenny Omega, and the subsequent downfall of his momentum. The first half of 2020 was filled with disappointment as he stagnated in AEW. Then, his momentum began to pick back up, just as Cody’s TNT title reign came to an end and his win over Chris Jericho at All Out. That brings us to now. Cody spoke about not having any plans and no “next step” in his career, and was interrupted by Scorpio Sky! He doesn’t travel with them, he doesn’t ever help them, and most importantly, when Kenny Omega turned on the Elite, Cody was nowhere to be found.
