(Rating: C+) “It’s Coach again, this time I’m here with the Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle and the two men who could be his partners tonight… Booker T and William Regal.” Coach says, and the camera pans to show he’s not lying. “Kurt, you’ve got two of the best wrestlers in the company in your corner, but there can really only be one… Is there one you’d prefer to have in your match tonight?” Coach asks. “Tell me you did not just ask that! Of course there’s a person he’d prefer to have in his match tonight, and that’s the 5-Time, 5-Time, 5-Time, 5-Time, 5-Time WCW Champion!” Booker says. “Well, actually-“ Angle begins. ”You? What in the bloody hell would he want you for? I’m the greatest wrestler in the world to have never been world champion. And that’s a bloody travesty, and Angle knows it. I am the greatest wrestler in the world today, and I’m going to go out there tonight, and break Carlito’s ankle, or Teddy Hart’s or hell, even The Undertaker’s. It’s true! It’s DAMN true!” Angle says, storming off, his partners look at him in disbelief for a moment, before following him. “Well, looks like Angle’s ready for his match, but I’m not sure his partners are ready for him. Coachman out.” Coach says. (Rating: B+) Rob Conway’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring. ”So who is it? Who do I have to beat tonight? Who did these idiots choose to be my challenger? (Rating: B) ‘Joker and the Thief’ hits and Ken Anderson makes his way down the ramp, with a microphone in his hand. “Ladies and gentlemen, the challenger, with 25% of the votes, weighing in tonight at an astonishing 242 lbs… I hail from Green Bay Wisconsin!!! Anderson gets Conway with a Small Package and a handful of tights for the three-count. (Rating: B-) The ref raises Anderson’s hand and gives him the title belt. Anderson yells for a mic, and the ref grabs it for him. ”The winner of the match, and the NEW INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION!!! KEN ANDERSON!!!” He says, before climbing the turnbuckle, holding the title up in the air. He holds the mic to his mouth, but pauses longer than usual, shouts of ‘Anderson’ from the crowd are audible…. “ANDERSON!!!” (Rating: B) “I’m here with Carlito and Teddy Hart. Guys, you’ve heard Kurt Angle’s statement from earlier, and you’ve got to admit, whoever the people choose as his partner, it’s going to be a tough fight.” Coach says. “A tough fight? Are you forgetting who Carlito’s partners are? I’ve got The Undertaker, perhaps the greatest superstar the WWE has ever seen, and Teddy Hart, a third generation Hart, a family as talented as Carlito’s.” Carlito says. “I signed up to fight Mark Belton, but I’ll be just as happy to beat the crap out of his manager. Like Carlito said, I’m a Hart. And that means I know how to fight. I may have had a bad couple of weeks, but now I’m back in the zone, and I’m ready to beat whoever I face.” Hart says. “Where is the third man? Where is The Undertaker?” Coach asks. Carlito looks behind Coach, and Coach turns to see Taker towering over him. ”Kurt Angle and his partner will Rest… In… Peace.” Taker says. “That’s cool.” Carlito says, and the three walk away. “Well, that was Carlito and his two potential partners, showing a lot more unity that Angle’s team… Coachm-“ Coach stops. (Rating: B+) He’s spotted John Cena leaving his locker room. ”Cena! Wait, can I get a word about your match tonight?” Coach yells out, running over. “You want a word? I’ve fought Randy Orton for months, since he screwed me out of the King of the Ring. I’m almost tired of having to face him, honestly I am. But I never get tired of taking that smug little face of his and bashing it further into his skull. I never get tired of lifting him across my shoulders and hitting the F-U. I never get tired of hearing the 1…2…3 when I beat him. And that’s how it’s going to be tonight.” Cena says. “Well, that match is later tonight. Coachman out.” (Rating: B) The Backseat Boyz stand in the ring, mics in hand. “Tonight the fans are choosing our match. Let’s just get this over with.” Randy Orton says, apparently still ticked off about not getting the title shot. “Ok… Randy, what are your thoughts about your match later tonight with John Cena?” Coach asks. “The same as they were last time you asked, about the last time we fought. I’m going to go out there, and I’m going to beat him, just like I did at Vengeance, just like I should have in the King of the Ring tournament. Hell, I even made him tap out to his own move. Triple H was right about one thing… John Cena is no Randy Orton.” Orton says. “A confident Randy Orton… Coach-“ He’s cut off again. ”You’re not Ryan Seacrest. Get over it.” Orton says. (Rating: B) The screen is split into two locker rooms, one has Carlito standing behind Teddy Hart and The Undertaker, and the other has Kurt Angle standing behind Booker T and William Regal. “The participants in the Viewer’s Choice Mystery Partner Match are… Kurt Angle and Booker T and…” Joey Styles begins. “Carlito and The Undertaker!!!” Jim Cornette finishes. The announced guys leave the locker room. (Rating: A*) “I’m backstage with the WWE Champion, The Big Show!” Coach says. “And let me guess… You want my thoughts on tonight’s match right?” Show asks. “Well, yeah…” Coach says. ”I’ve got to say, I much prefer being interviewed by Maria, but I guess she’s gone for the night… Oh well… Tonight I’m facing Triple H, for the millionth time this year, and I’ve got to say, I don’t really expect to walk out of this one without my title. I beat him in a Ladder Match, I beat him in Hell in a Cell, and he thinks he can beat me tonight? He may be a ten-time champion, but I’m a 7-foot, 500 lb Giant. Triple H calls himself the King of Kings, well I’m the King of Giants, and to paraphrase Triple H… ‘Triple H is no David.’” Big Show says. Eventually, Orton gets sick of not being able to put Cena away, so he grabs a chair and beats him across the head with it. The ref rings the bell and Orton storms out. Looks like you didn't tell them you wanted this month's event on PPV..." "Do you know how much money I'm going to lose? That's it... I'm going to issue a warning to the remaining stock-holders, we're going to be completely bankrupt." "Calm down... We're still going to be able to save this thing... When you get back to your hotel tonight, check at the front desk... I have a gift for you. I'll talk to you tomorrow night after the show..." And with that he hung up. "What the hell..." Vince mutters. He arrives at his hotel later that night and stops at the front desk. "Yeah, there was a guy here with a package for you... Said it was important." The receptionist says, handing over a large envelope. Vince opens it up and finds it's full of lottery tickets in tomorrow's Mega Millions Lottery draw... "This is how you're going to save us?" He mutters. "What's the prize for tomorrow's Mega Millions draw?" Vince asks. "About $30 Million I think... I've got a ticket, but what are the odds of winning?" The receptionist replies. I am still the WWE Champion, I am still the world’s largest athlete and I am still the most dominant person in sports entertainment. And I will beat ANYONE!!!” He says. (Rating: A) Batista’s music hits and the crowd pops. “You’ll beat anyone huh?” Batista asks. “You’re damn right I will.” Show replies. “Well, I do have that #1 Contender’s spot for Summerslam… How about you put your money where your mouth is.” Batista says, and the crowd pops again. “Looks like I don’t have a choice… Not that it matters. I can take you. I can take anyone. Be it Triple H, John Cena, Randy Orton, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, John Bradshaw Layfield or Carlito. No one can beat me. I’m the immovable object.” Big Show says. “You’re the immovable object? Well I’m the unstoppable force. And what’s going to happen when we collide? I’m the Animal. No one can beat me. No one. Do you understand that? At Summerslam, I’m going to beat you, and then, I’m going to take your title.” Batista says. I’m your tag team partner, and we don’t have a spot in that tournament because you decided to try and get some glory on your own.” London yells. ”What? You expect me to let this shot slip away? I was put into a match with Ken Anderson at random, and I won that match. And now he’s the Intercontinental Champion. I beat a man who is now a champion, and I can do it again. You as my friend should be happy for me. I’ve got a shot at something great, and my best friend is standing here in front of me yelling at me for taking that shot, for aiming high. If I get that shot at Summerslam, I’m going to go out there and I’m going to fight whoever the hell is champion, and if you’re not at ringside, then maybe I need a new partner.” Spanky yells back. “You’re right… I should be supportive. It's not going to matter if Batista's eliminated, because come SummerSlam, the King of Kings will be returning to his throne. I will be crowned the WWE Champion for the 11th time." Triple H says. It's every man for himself at SummerSlam." Orton retorts, and Big Show just glares at him... (Rating: A*) Maria's now with Batista... "I don't have time for you to think of your question... JBL, in a few minutes, we're meeting in the ring, and I'm going to torment you for taking away my 1-on-1 title match. I'm going to take you out of that match completely, you'll be injured so badly..." Batista says. (Rating: A) Paul London walks into Vince's office. "Vince, you saw what happened earlier... I want Ken Anderson in a match next week." He says. "I'll think about it, right now I have more important things to take care of now..." Vince says, and London leaves. We want a match. One of us, facing Mr Taylor, tonight.” Harry demands. “Now why the hell would I risk the only shot I have at bringing those tag team championships to RAW? I need the Representatives in top condition.” JBL replies. ”Well, either one of us gets to fight Taylor tonight, or at SummerSlam, I promise you those Tag Team Championships are going to stay on SmackDown…” Harry threatens. It doesn’t matter if one of your own controls it… You still want to take it down, and I will have no part in that.” Dupree says, turning away from Grenier, who storms out, not happy at being turned down twice in one night… (Rating: C+) *Break* ‘Bodies’ by Drowning Pool hits, and the Backseat Boyz hit the ring. ”Poor Mr Grenier… He knows he can’t beat us with only his butt-buddy Taylor, so he tries to get some back-up.” Acid says. ”It’s just too bad no-one in that locker room is willing to take on the Backseat Boyz, the baddest tag team to ever come out of South Philly.” Kashmere adds. ”And at SummerSlam, we’re going to beat your asses, and send you back to RAW empty-handed, because these Tag Team Titles are staying with us, we’ve grown rather attached to them… And they’re coming with us… Because as of next week, the Backseat Boyz are officially employees of SmackDown.” Acid says. ”SmackDown’s going to be taken to a level of extreme that those guys in ECW can only dream of… Levels that only the Backseat Boyz can take it to… And we’re going to do it as Tag Team Champions!” Kashmere says, attempting to talk over the faint ‘E-C-Dub!’ chant.
