Absolutely brilliant diary, just finished catching up on everything. Unforgiven was brilliant. Fantastic job.

Wow thanks man. Really appreciate that. Looking at your name you look like a bit of a Hart fan yourself so i'm glad to hear you like where this is going.

The Mexican Warriors (Blue Panther and Chavo Guerrero Sr.) vs. Super Loco and Taka Michinoku

This is coin flip for me

Marc Mero vs. Sid Vicious

No contest in this one

The Darkside w. The Jackal vs. The Headbangers

Darkside beated them before and they can do it again

Triple H vs. British Bulldog

Triple H takes a win but I don´t think it will be clean

Intercontinental Title No.1 Contender Match

Jerry Lynn vs. Goldust

Draw, I think Jarrett is going to interference this fight witch would lead to a three way match

Kane, Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow vs. The Undertaker, Edge and Christian

Undertaker, Edge and Christian all lost in PPV so they pick a win here

Really enjoyed te pay-per-view mate. Kurt Angle is still being booked really well- he had to lose to Austin, but you did it in a Flair - Steamboat way that he gets over regardless of the result.

The Mexican Warriors (Blue Panther and Chavo Guerrero Sr.) vs. Super Loco and Taka Michinoku

Prediction 101- the team with the name wins. How old is Chavo Snr, by the way? Like the interrupted and the debut of Sean Waltman, like the direction you are taking it. Good to get some name value in the division, if that's what you're trying to do

Marc Mero vs. Sid Vicious

Sid can be very useful if booked right and Mero is going through a losing streak angle

The Darkside w. The Jackal vs. The Headbangers

Darkside can offer you more, I think

Triple H vs. British Bulldog

Hunter is the up and comer while Bulldog is coming towards the end of his use

Intercontinental Title No.1 Contender Match

Jerry Lynn vs. Goldust

I agree with the idea of the Triple Threat Match. Jarrett as IC Champion is a good call to me. I think he's perfect for the belt, personally

Kane, Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow vs. The Undertaker, Edge and Christian

To get their heat back after losing at Unforgiven

Cheers man, i'm glad you enjoyed the show. Definitely was oo early for Angle to winning against the likes of Austin, but it was good to see he could put on a great match with a top worker despite not being anywhere near as over as Austin. I'm glad what I was trying to do worked anyway.

When I signed Waltman I wasn't sure whether to go down the DX route with him or something completely different so I choose the latter. Waltman is very over for the division, but Sasuke is catching him up. I thought the division needed a bigger name thrown in there and thats where Waltman comes in.

Guerrero is 49. Him and Panther will hopefully be able to teach my younger guys in the division a few things. I thought it would be a good idea for their development to bring in a couple of older guys for them to work with.

Thanks once again for all the picks guys.

Before Ross even had a chance to introduce the show Owen Hart’s music plays and he storms out from the back to a great pop. He doesn’t look in the mood to even care about the fans though and enters the ring with a microphone clutched in his hand.

Before Owen could speak the crowd burst into applause seemingly giving him an ovation for his efforts last night as Owen came so close to winning the WWF Championship.

Owen: Thank you, but to be honest I’m not out here for thanks. I couldn’t care less about anything at the moment other than one man. Everyone one of you here tonight know that I had that match won last night. You all know that that Title should be around my waist tonight, but Bret couldn’t see me happy. He had to interfere because he knows that I’m the better Hart and he quick sit back and let me come when his career is virtually through and take over from him. So he booted me in the head. With sickening force aswell.

Owen takes a moment to gather himself.

Owen: I think its clear what I have to do now. Bret, I beat you fair and square at Wrestlemania, but it doesn’t seem that it was good enough for you. I need you out of here and then my career can finally start. I need end your career.

The crowd pop at Owen’s comments.

Owen: F**k the WWF Title! Me and you Bret at Over the Edge!

The crowd pop louder than before.

Owen: In an I Quit match!!

http://i47.tinypic.com/kamf5e.jpg

Bret’s music rings out and he steps out from the back complete with a big smirk on his face. The crowd boo his arrival while Owen usher him into the ring wanting a fight. Bret slowly shakes his head and instead stands on the ramp.

Bret: End my career? Are you kidding me Owen? You don’t have it in ya boy. The difference between you and me is that I would do anything to hurt you. You wouldn’t be able to go through with it because your weak Owen. Weak! You and me, I quit match eh?

Bret ponders over his decision for a while.

Bret: Your f**king on! I will break your legs until you issue those words and I won’t even stop there. I’ll decide when you quit. I’ll give you as much punishment as I feel you deserve regardless of whether you quit or not. I have nothing to lose. I’ve lived it all. Mutli time Champion, Royal Rumble, King of the Ring. Name something I Haven’t won? So yeah I’ve done it all. Whether you guys like it or not I’ll leave one of the biggest legacy ever in the history of professional wrestling. What have you done Owen? I’m not even gonna say just to save on the embarrassment. You have EVERYTHING to lose Owen. Nobody will remember you if you have to bow out now. I will not quit. No mater what the circumstances and if you don’t Owen, well, lets just say you will never walk again.

Owen stands in the ring looking livid as Bret simply smiles back at him which probably enrages him further.

Ross: Well that was worth the interuption is you ask me. Bret and Owen are going to be doing it again.

Cornette: Mark my words. Owen will not survive that match.

The Mexican Warriors (Blue Panther and Chavo Guerrero Sr.) vs. Super Loco and Taka Michinoku

Two tag teams, but both are in very different stages in their careers. The Mexican Warriors combined for 87 years of age and countless years of experience in the ring. The types of styles were also very different and expected as the younger men went for a faster, high risk approach that we’ve come to expect from the division, whereas the new team were a lot slower in their approach and looked to keep Loco and Michinoku on the ground with an effective mat wrestling game. The 49 year old Guerrero even showed off some aerial moves an impressive moonsault on Loco being a particular highlight.

Despite the energy levels being on Loco and Michinoku’ s side, the veterans did a great job wearing them down and controlled the pace for much of the bout. To take a debut a win Blue Panther forced Taka Michinoku to tap out after locking on El Luno Lagunero, a devastating figure four leglock applied while standing. Taka tried to withstand as much pain as physically possible, but that said, it wasn’t long before he was tapping.

Winners: The Mexican Warriors

Match Rating: E+

Vince McMahon is backstage in his office ready to make announcement regarding tonight’s main event.

Vince: Last I heard something from Shawn Michaels that made me laugh. Do you really believe that you and your Degeneration X boys can compete with The Corporation?

Angle lets out a chuckle from behind Vince.

Vince: I don’t. But hey, if you want to see bad treatment Shawn then don’t worry, I can give you that. We’re yet to see a main event announced for tonight so why don’t you bring out your title and put it on the line tonight against a man who lost his last night. Ken Shamrock.

The crowd pop at the announcement.

Vince: Next time Shawn, keep your mouth shut, eh?

Marc Mero vs. Sid Vicious

http://i25.tinypic.com/1zpmalw.jpgvs.http://i45.tinypic.com/2j45xlv.jpg

Sid Vicious was impressive here even though he wouldn’t have had to be given Mero’s recent form. He really can’t do anything right and fell victim to a huge power bomb.

Winner: Sid Vicious

If Ya Smell… What The Rock… Is Cooking

http://i49.tinypic.com/2eeh4pz.jpg

The Rock struts down the ramp and eyes up Sid Vicious in the ring.

The Rock: Finally The Rock has come back to Connecticut! The Rock has no beef with you Sid, but you come out here and you beat up The Rock’s pal, Marc Mero. Let The Rock just ask you one thing. Do you think you would have beaten The Rock that time we came out and electrified the million… and millions of Rocks fans?

Sid: Well come on, of cou…

The Rock: It doesn’t matter what you think! The only thing that matters is that next week you agree to go one on one with the great one!

Sid: Your on Rock. I’m gonna crush you like I did tonight to your little buddy.

The Rock: Crush The Rock? You think that you can crush The Rock. How about you know your damn role jabroni. There is only gonna be one winner next week and that winner will be The Rock. So you bring you’re A game Sid you bring all the power you want, but The Rock will kick your candy ass all over this ring and he’ll slap on that rock bottom, hit that peoples elbow and the fans will chant The Rock’s name.

He pauses and holds his hand up to his as a ‘Rocky’ chant arises.

The Rock: And after the referee counts the three and your giant flabby body is lying there in the middle of the ring. The Rock will take JR’s hat, shine it up real nice, turn it sideways and stick it straight up your candy ass! If ya smelllll lalalow what The Rock is cooking.

The Rock raises the eyebrow as the two stare through each other.

The Jackal was showing that it wasn’t just Gangrel and Vampiro who could win The Darkside matches as he started making his presence at ringside more known. He would pull the ropes down as either Mosh or Thrasher were sent into them and basically try and get as many cheap shots in as possible. With this new weapon added to the tag team, The Darkside could have the edge over more teams in the company. Vampiro finally put the ‘nail in the coffin

Winners: The Darkside

Crack!!

http://i34.tinypic.com/2pqnjhd.jpg

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin storms in from the back walking with a purpose. He does all his usual shizzle in the ring before picking up a mic from ringside.

Austin: You all saw the ass kicking I gave to that son of a bi*ch Kurt Angle last night. Kurt I gotta hand it to you though, that was one hell of a match boy, I can’t fault you there, but I do think you’re a mealy mouthed bast**d for working with McMahon. Anyway I won’t bore you with the details. Straight to the point is what ol Stone Cold is all about, so Vince, pal, I want a title shot.

The fans pop at the prospect of Austin as Champion.

Austin: That is the one thing I need to accomplish and Stone Cold knows he could beat that little toe rag Shawn Michaels anytime he damn well wanted!

The crowd pop once again as they obviously agree with Austin.

Austin: Mankind? Owen Hart? I respect you guys, but your no Stone Cold Steve Austin and you never will be so why the hell haven’t I not had a title shot yet? I’ll tell you why, because Vince McMahon doesn’t want me to.

The crowd boo the Vince reference.

Austin: So Vince get your ass out here and do what’s best for this…

http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/9440/vincemcmahonea6.jpg

Austin is cut off from the appearance of Vince McMahon on the titantron. He shrugs off the boos that he inevitably receives and starts to speak.

Vince: There is NO CHNACE IN HELLLL that I’ll ever give you a title shot.

Austin: If you wanna see Stone Cold kick Vince McMahon’s ass if he doesn’t give him a title shot gimme a hell yeah.

A unanimous ‘hell yeah’ follows.

Austin: If it’s what the fans want to see then I’ll back there and I’ll kick your ass Vince and none of your little Corporation buddies will stop me.

Vince: Your not getting to me like that Austin.

Austin looks around at the crowd for a moment before dropping his microphone with a thud on the rind canvas and sliding out of the ring.

Vince: Wait! Calm down Austin. Ermmm… Maybe we can come to some sort of arrangement.

Austin heads back into the ring and picks up his microphone.

Vince: Erm, how about at Over the Edge you get yourself a tag team partner and Kurt Angle gets himself a partner and you two have a little tag action.

Austin: What the hell does that have to do with my title shot?!

Vince: If you’d let me finish. If you win then you can have a title shot whenever you want it.

The crowd start to pop once again.

Vince: Shuuut Uuupp! I haven’t finished. If you win then you get a shot when you want, but if you lose, and I think we all no that’s a certainty, then you will never, ever receive a title shot again.

Austin: Sounds like a sack of crap deal to me, but I ain’t gonna be making the decision. If you wanna see Stone Cold risk it all for one measly title shot then gimme a hell yeah.

Hell Yeah!!

Austin: Oh hell yeah!!

To infuriate Vince further, Austin flips him off as the show goes to commercial.

Triple H vs. British Bulldog

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/7406/tripleh1998mt7.jpgvs.http://i27.tinypic.com/1zmkuhl.jpg

There was no Jim Niedhart to welcome Bulldog to this match, instead he came out alone looking to gain back some momentum after losing the tag match at Unforgiven. Bulldog looked good here overpowering Triple H on many occasions and to show off that power he connected with a delayed vertical suplex before locking on a chinlock. He was giving Triple H a lesson in wrestling here.

Triple H of course would do anything to win and that was evident here when he deliberately sent the referee crashing to the mat. He quickly slid outside and brought in a sledgehammer which bounced off the head of Bulldog once he rose to his feet. Triple H threw the sledgehammer out of the ring, shook the referee a bit and then hit a pedigree for the victory.

Winner: Triple H

Match Rating: C

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mankind bursts into the office of WWF Commissioner Ric Flair who looks taken a aback at first, but soon lightens up.

Flair: What can the Nature Boy do for you Mankind? Wooooo!

Mankind: Cut the crap Flair. You know why I’m here. I weren’t happy about the match being a triple threat in the first place, but then the match has interference anyway. I have a contract stating that I get a one on one rematch with the Champion as the former Champion and I want to evoke that for Over the Edge.

Flair: Well I guess I can’t really argue with that. You’ve got a contract so you get your rematch Mankind.

Flair puts his head down expecting that to be the end of things, but when he hears no movement he looks back up.

Flair: Didn’t you me hear? The match is yours.

Mankind: Oh I heard you Ric, but I need more than that. Michaels has loads of guys that can come down at any time and swing things his way. I mean you saw an example of it last night and I’d bet my right ear, oh wait… better make that the left one, that they’ll be more interference in tonight’s match.

Flair: So what are you proposing?

Mankind: Ban outside interference. Anybodies interferences on behalf of Michaels then he has to relinquish the title whether seen by the referee of not because lets face it, these referee’s aren’t exactly the smartest cookie in the jar.

Flair: That won’t wash down well with Shawn.

Mankind: Hey I’m a fair guy. Same conditions for me. Anybody interferences on my behalf then I forfeit my title shot there and then.

Mankind pulls out a piece of paper.

Mankind: Just sign here.

Flair: That simple huh? Mind if I read it through first and how about, I’ll get back to you next week?

Mankind: Seems fair enough to me, but Flair, do what’s right for the fans eh? They want to see a clean finish for the title.

Mankind closes the door behind him as Flair begins to look at the contract.

Intercontinental Title No.1 Contender Match

Jerry Lynn vs. Goldust

http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/276/jerrylynnkd2.jpgvs.http://i35.tinypic.com/5vi21.jpg

The match begins with both men trying to find a weakness in the other, but they seem very evenly matched. Lynn reserved any high powered offence that Goldust could offer and vice versa. This carried on for a while until Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett made his way through the crowd and downed both Lynn and Goldust with his belt causing the DQ.

Draw due to double Disqualification

Match Rating: C

Jarrett started stomping away at both men in the ring keeping them down as the referee called for the double disqualification. He shoved his IC Title into each ones face declaring that they weren't getting their hands on it. Then the crowd suddenly found their voices as former Champion Ken Shamrock sprinted down from the back and took down Jarrett with a spear. He unleashed some hard left and rights onto Jarrett who tried his best to cover up. Finally he managed to slide out and quickly burst down the ramp relieved to have escaped Shamrock’s wrath. Shamrock stared from Goldust to Lynn to Jarrett sensing that there could be some obstacles in the way of him recapturing his IC Title.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Backstage Degeneration X are discussing the main event

Michaels: Who the hell does he think he is putting me a title match the night after I defended the belt in a triple threat?! This is bang out of order guys.

Triple H: I’m with you Shawn, but there’s not much we can do about it. With him and Ric they controlled 100% of the booking in this company. Maybe we should have been kinder to Slaughter?

Michaels: Let’s not go that far Hunter. You got my back though tonight yeah?

Triple H: You can count on me Shawn. That title isn’t going anywhere.

Bret begins to speak after listening to the two conversing.

Bret: I agree that we can’t keep going on like this Shawn so I have an idea how we can stop it. You say Vince and Ric own all the booking rights yeah? Well why don’t we get Ric onto our side. Think about it. He could overturn any stipulation Vince tried throw at us and it would be a big step in controlling this company.

Triple H: I like it Bret. Really like it.

Michaels: Flair has a history as ‘the dirtiest player in the game’. I mean, could we really trust the guy?

Bret: Leave Flair to me. You guys just worry about keeping that title in DX tonight.

Michaels: We’ll show McMahon who really is top of the food chain in this company.

Kane, Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow vs. The Undertaker, Edge and Christian

http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/189/kanemask1998vn6.jpghttp://i48.tinypic.com/6xt7y0.jpghttp://img413.imageshack.us/img413/346/bambambigelowku3.jpgvs.http://i36.tinypic.com/14ipjwz.jpghttp://img521.imageshack.us/img521/949/edge1998lk4.jpghttp://img92.imageshack.us/img92/5543/christian1998lt5.jpg

The Undertaker appeared with a bandaged up arm after being set on fire at the hands of his brother just last night. He didn’t let the burns bother him though and wanted to gain some revenge on Kane. Edge and Christian frustrated The Undertaker throughout as they kept getting caught in trouble limiting Taker’s time in the ring. Once he finally did get the tag he cleaned house like only Taker can throwing punches everywhere and sending Bigelow and Vader crashing out of the ring with ease. Edge and Christian hit a cross body a piece to subdue the Tag Team Champions while The Undertaker hoisted Kane onto his shoulder and hit a tombstone.

Winner: The Undertaker, Edge and Christian

Match Rating: C

After the match Undertaker pulled out a can of lighter fluid from under the ring and started dosing Kane’s arm in it. Kane managed to wriggle free and slide out of the ring, but Undertaker was ready and quickly lit a match and tosses it into the vicinity of Kane. It hit his arm which immediately burst into flames. Kane, holding his arm as far away as possible, ran to the back with Bearer in close pursuit. Suddenly Undertaker raised his arm and dropped it quickly causing a lightning bolt to fly out of the rafters and hit Bearer. He fell straight to the ground with a thud and didn’t move a muscle. Undertaker rolled back his eyes in the ring showing no remorse as the EMT’s rushed out to the ramp to tend to Bearer. They got him on a stretcher and wheeled him into the back.

Ross: How far is this feud going to go? If this carries on then somebody is going to die.

Lawler: I think Bearer could already be dead, he wasn’t even moving.

Cornette: The most frightening thing is these people don’t care who they hurt as long as their hurting each other.

WWF World Heavyweight Title

‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels © vs. ‘The Worlds Most Dangerous Man’ Ken Shamrock

http://i49.tinypic.com/2lus9cg.jpgvs.http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/8081/kenshamrockxt7.jpg

Michaels clearly wasn’t happy with having to wrestle with his title on the line two nights in a row and after his physical triple threat battle last night you had to feel that Michaels was at a disadvantage here and Shamrock had a good chance to become a Champion again. Michaels made a tentative start and didn’t want to be drawn into a fast physical battle as it was clear he was still nursing wounds from last night, in fact Michaels was doing a great job of selling the leg injuries he received at the hands of Owen’s sharpshooter which is what Shamrock started targeting in the early going.

Shamrock delivered some high knees dropped into the legs of Shawn and looked for an early ankle lock attempt, but Michaels quickly grasped the bottom rope which proved to be a mistake from Shamrock as it allowed Michaels to regain his bearings and go to work with a hip toss on Shamrock who was then put into a headlock. Michaels broke the headlock allowing Shamrock to get up to a vertical base, but Michaels hit a dropkick which sent the former Intercontinental Champion staggering back into the turnbuckle. Michaels approached him and five hard knife edge chops followed as Shamrock’s chest turned glowing red as each chop hurt more than the next.

Michaels controlled more of the match from here and it wasn’t looking like there was anyway back for Shamrock after his earlier mistake. Michaels wasn’t making any at all and despite only having over an hour to prepare, his gameplan was working a treat which is testament to how good of a wrestler Shawn Michaels really is. As Michaels lifted up Shamrock for a suplex, Shamrock managed to drop behind him and hit a backbreaker turning the momentum. Michaels got to his feet first, but Shamrock blocked a punch and then connected with a roundhouse kick letting out a great roar as the Champion laid on the mat.

Ankle Lock!! Shamrock had the painful move locked in to add even further punishment to the leg of Michaels. A sharpshooter and ankle lock in a two night period! Shamrock was too strong for Michaels who attempted to crawl to the ropes like he had done so quickly earlier in the match. He pulled him back to the centre of the ring and then glanced slightly at the title laying at ringside which caused Shamrock to turn up the intensity. Suddenly from the back Triple H came storming to the ring and leaped onto the apron. The referee immediately turned his attention to Triple H as Michaels began tapping on the mat. Frustrated, Shamrock released the hold and clotheslined Triple H straight off the apron. As Triple H looked up from the floor Shamrock started talk trash to him and then began beating his chest. Triple H then smiled as Michaels rolled up Shamrock into a small package grabbing a handful of tights in the process. One…Two… Three.

Winner and still WWF Heavyweight Champion, Shawn Michaels

Match Rating: B+

What a valiant effort from Shamrock as Michaels stole the pin. He quickly slid out of the ring collapsing to the ground. Triple H already had the title in his grasp and began helping Michaels up. Michaels struggled up the ramp even with assistance from his partner. The show faded to black with Michaels holding his title in the air with one hand on the ramp and Shamrock looking disgusted in the ring.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The show didn’t end there though. The camera cut to the back to see Bret Hart walking out of Ric Flair’s office looking particularly please. A smile arose on his face as he stood there for a moment and then walked off down the corridor.

Some good news for Nitro. After they lost their Monday night slot last time the networks were scheduling they have now agreed a deal with TNT to get back on TV in America. Unfortunately it’s a Tuesday night slot so we won’t be going head to head for ratings, but we’re still at war.

Mixed news for ECW. They’ve managed to get their TV show back on air for next month, but according to rumours in the news their having some financial problems. Let’s hope they go out of business because at the moment a lot of their more talented members of the roster are either on a written deal or staying loyal with them.

Shame about the end of the Monday Night Wars. I get that they will still be your competitors but there is something special about two shows going up against each other at the same time.

Another good show mate. I like the slow build towards Austin getting the title. I'm gonig to predict that you hold off for a few more months, maybe even Summerslam, while you make DX look dominant and unbeatable, then have Austin tear them apart and finally win the title people would be so desperate for him to get.

I'm gonig to predict that you hold off for a few more months, maybe even Summerslam, while you make DX look dominant and unbeatable, then have Austin tear them apart and finally win the title people would be so desperate for him to get.

Cheers mate. I have plans stretching throughout the year for Austin so I guess you'll just have to wait and see what happens in that respect.

Yep it was sad to see it end, so soon aswell. WCW just let their contract run out for some reason. I'll be moving this data onto TEW 10 when it comes out so i'm tempted to just give them their slot back because I was looking forward to trying to beat them in the ratings, or at least close the gap.

I don't think anyone would blame you if you did decide to give them their old timeslot back, I think it makes for a more interesting comparison to real life, especially now they can be owned by companies and what not.

Tajiri vs. Kid Kash

Either, really

‘The Lethal Weapon’ Steve Blackman vs. ‘Dr Death’ Steve Williams

Neither man really got much of a go of it in the Fed, Williams probably because his style just didn't mesh with the Fed style, and Blackman because he had the charisma of a squashed grape, I imagine!

The Darkside vs. The Hardy Boyz

The Hardy Boyz might be a little rough around the edges for now, I'm guessing

The Rock vs. Sid Vicious

I'm guessing The Rock gets screwed

New Age Outlaws vs. British Bulldog and ???

The Outlaws were the dons back in the day, they were hella over, even if they didn't really offer all that much except "controversy"

Ken Shamrock vs. Ahmed Johnson

Shamrock to show some bouncebackability after a good showing against HBK

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin vs. Triple H vs. Kane

Kane to look strong going in to the latest battle between him and 'Taker

I go with Dr Death here

The Darkside vs. The Hardy Boyz

Darkside seems to be rising again

The Rock vs. Sid Vicious

Possibly a DQ win here

New Age Outlaws vs. British Bulldog and ???

After losing to Bret and Triple H, Bulldog needs a win in order to be a threat on DX

Ken Shamrock vs. Ahmed Johnson

This is the only match where I feel comfortable with my pick

Ross: Hello folks and welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw is War!

Lawler: The card is already shaping up great for Over the Edge JR. An I Quit match between Bret and Owen Hart.

Ross: Bah gawd that one will be brutal.

Cornette: Don't forget the greatest part of that night. Austin being told he will never ever recieve a World Title shot.

Ross: Thats if he loses.

Cornette: There's no way he can find a partner. Whos going to want to team with a loose cannon like Austin? Oh wait except you JR, I know you'd be stupid enough to if you could.

We go backstage where British Bulldog is bicep curling some ridiculously heavy weights. He received a great pop showing how much he has grown with the fans in recent weeks. Jim Niedhart walks in and Bulldog immediately stops lifting and a smile appears on his face. He goes over to Niedhart and the two friends share a hug.

Bulldog: I haven’t seen you since Unforgiven Jim, how you been keeping?

Niedhart: Ah I’ve not been doing bad, Davey, but since Unforgiven I’ve been doing some thinking.

Bulldog: Come on Jim. There’s nothing you could have done last week. It pains me to say it, but Triple H and Bret are both very good wrestlers.

Niedhart: Well to be honest I’ve been thinking way back past Unforgiven. You know as well as I do Davey that I’m letting this team down. You should be out there fighting for Championships, but I’m just dragging you down.

Bulldog: That’s not true, Jim and you know its not.

Niedhart: Let me finish, Davey Boy. I’m leaving the team.

Bulldog: B…

Niedhart: It ain’t gonna wash. It’s my final decision and don’t think it hasn’t been a tough one.

Bulldog: I’ve known you for years Jim so I know when your minds made up, but if you leave then that just leaves me and Owen. We need you Jim.

Niedhart: Who said I was leaving? I’m staying around this place, but I’m just not tagging with ya anymore. I’ve found you somebody new. Somebody trained by the best.

Bulldog looks intrigued as Niedhart continues.

Niedhart: This guy is one hell of a mat wrestler and submissions expert. He’ll do a much better job than I could do. Lance over here!

Niedhart calls for Bulldog’s new partner to enter the room. A wrestler by the name of Lance Storm comes in and it’s clear that Bulldog has met him before.

Bulldog: Good to see you again. Your right Jim, this guy is one hell of a wrestler.

Niedhart: Sure is and I’m gonna be you guys manager. Your in action tonight against The New Age Outlaws.

Bulldog: I got to say Jim, I wasn’t best pleased to hear you quitting tagging with me, but your doing a great job making up for it. With Storm and me wrestling and you at ringside then there ain’t gonna be any stopping the Hart Foundation.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tajiri vs. Kid Kash

http://i28.tinypic.com/izuzav.jpgvs.http://i38.tinypic.com/2yobcp5.jpg

The fans didn’t really dig this match as much as they should have, but that was down to the popularity of Tajiri and Kash not being the best. In fact, Kash is beginning to get over with the fans, but Tajiri is the one who needs the exposure. The two presented the fans who were interested with a great bout to open the show though as Kash came with his unique offence combining deadly aerial attacks with some stiff kicks and Tajiri tried to entertain the crowd with his Tarantula move. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a clear cut winner as The Mexican Warriors came down from the crowd and started beating on the Tajiri and Kash much to the fans disgust.

Draw due to double disqualification

Match Rating: E

After the match The Mexican Warriors don’t stop with their attack. Blue Panther locks on his standing figure four leglock on Kash while Guerrero throws Tajiri across the ring with a german suplex. Suddenly the crowd burst into life as Light Heavyweight Champion Great Sasuke bursts out of the curtain and sprints down the ramp. He rolls into the ring as The Mexican Warriors quickly disperse obviously wanting nothing to do with the Champion.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The camera takes us backstage where Bret Hart is seen knocking on the door of the WWF Commissioner Ric Flair. He knocks once then enters.

Flair: Oh hey Bret

Bret: So you had chance to think about my little proposal last week. When I left you looked pretty happy about the whole thing.

Flair: (laughing) When I said I’d think about it Bret I was joking. There ain;t no way you’ll be seeing The Nature Boy in DX.

Bret: Your making a big mistake Ric.

Flair: Really? I don’t think I am. The Nature Boy just has this to say. Diamonds are forever brother, and so is The Corporation, and there’s no way DX will be running around this place for much longer. You see Bret, me and Vinny, well to be honest, I don’t like the guy. I don’t agree with some of his decisions and brother, he ticks me off bad, but Bret, pal, I like him a hell of a lot more than I like you guys down in DX. You are all what’s wrong with professional wrestling today and I’ll do everything I can to make sure people like you aren’t running this company and don’t get to decide how things go down. No get out of my way pal, I’ve gotta go see Mankind about this contract. Wooooooooo!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘The Lethal Weapon’ Steve Blackman vs. ‘Dr Death’ Steve Williams

http://i30.tinypic.com/2m601dw.jpgvs.http://i29.tinypic.com/nquwyr.jpg

A very impressive brawl from the two that the crowd seemed to take to. Blackman used his martial arts background effectively here and gave Williams some big problems with a few hard kicks to the sternum. Despite the impressive offence of Blackman who looked better here than in recent months, Williams managed to lift Blackman up for a Doctor Bomb and gain the victory.

Winner: Steve Williams

Match Rating: C-

Marc Mero and Sable are both getting ready in their locker room when Sable starts to talk with him.

Sable: Sit down please Marc.

Mero looking confused obeyed Sable and sat down next to her.

Sable: Well for a while now I’ve been having thoughts about us. You know it hasn’t been going well recently.

Mero: Is this about my little problem?

Sable: No! no, course not Marc, you know that’s not it. Your just don’t seen as friendly as you used to be. We never talk anymore. It’s as though I’m not here.

Mero: I didn’t know you felt this way honey, you can bet that from now on your all that matters to me.

Sable gives him a guilty look and Mero instantly knows what’s wrong.

Mero: No please tell me your not leaving?

Sable: I wish I could Marc, but if I’m honest I’ve met somebody else.

Mero: Somebody else? For how long?!

Sable: I’ve been seeing them for close to a month now and I thought it was about time you knew the truth. This past month has been hard for me. I’ve felt so guilty and just couldn’t keep it from you any longer.

Mero starts to get very angry and bangs his fist against the wall then starts to cry.

Mero: (sobbing) How could you? What have I done to deserve this?

Sable: I’m sorry Marc, but this is just the way it has to be.

She turns to leave, but Mero cries out one last thing.

Mero: Who is he?

Sable bites her lip before deciding to tell him.

Sable: The Rock.

Screams can be heard from the room as it is apparent Mero didn’t take the news very well. Noises such as tables and chairs being turned over can be heard as the camera goes back to the announce table.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

A brawl breaks out backstage between Mankind and Shawn Michaels. It seems that Mankind tried to gain n advantage by attacking Michaels with him noticing, but DX popped out from around the corner before any real damage could be done to their leader. The New Age outlaws and Triple H are there and when Michaels begins to recover a four on one beat down ensues. Luckily for Mankind the Hart Foundation are passing by conversing and notice the brawl and manage to chase off DX, but the damage to Mankind is clear to see.

The Darkside w. The Jackal vs. The Hardy Boyz

http://i28.tinypic.com/2d1s615.jpghttp://i30.tinypic.com/2qd31xy.jpgvs.http://i45.tinypic.com/jt32bs.jpghttp://i45.tinypic.com/66999h.jpg

Despite the crowd knowing very, very little about the Hardy Boyz there was a sense that they were about to witness a special team in action and that’s exactly what they did. The Darkside couldn’t believe it as The Hardy Boyz, particularly Jeff, flew around the ring like it was his second home hitting all sorts of aerial manoeuvres that the fans had only previously seen in the Light Heavyweight Division. Matt set up Vampiro and hit a twist of fate which was then when you could tell the fans really wanted to see the Hardy Boyz win here. They cheered feeling this would be the end, but Gangrel was there to break up the pinfall and for his action he received heat he’d never felt before. Vampiro then hit the nail in the coffin on Matt and pinned him for the win. This was possibly one of the most impressive debuts that ended with a loss.

Winners: The Darkside

Match Rating: D-

http://i47.tinypic.com/kamf5e.jpg

Bret Hart's rejuvenated Degeneration X entrance theme plays out and he arrogantly strides down the ramp to a hot reaction from the crowd.

Bret: You can boo me all you want, but you better get used to it cos DX, we ain’t going anywhere. It’s now official Owen, it’s now official that your career will be over at Over the Edge. There aint no going back now. Actually you know what, cos I’m such nice guy I think I’ve give you a chance. If you come out of here look me in the face and tell me you quit now then I’ll let you leave the company with your health, but if you don’t and you still want to go ahead with the match… then I’ll make you leave in a f**king wheelchair!

Bret waits for Owen to come out, but nothing happens.

Bret: Big mistake brother, BIG mistake.

http://i49.tinypic.com/nmlrgy.jpg

Suddenly Owen’s music does hit and a sick smile appears on Bret’s face, but it isn’t Owen who comes out, instead it’s the two’s eighty four year old father, Stu Hart.

Bret: What the hell do you want?

Stu: What’s happened to you Bret?

Bret looks around confused.

Bret: Nothing’s happened to me, it’s that punk Owen that you need to be questioning. How could The Hart family be home to such a weak little boy. It doesn’t add up dad.

Stu: I don’t know about you Bret, but just over a month ago I remember seeing the same weak little boy making you tap out at Wrestlemania.

Bret scowls at this comment.

Bret: Don’t you DARE mention that dad! You hear me, I’ll put him in his place at Over the Edge and then that lucky win will just be a distant memory for him.

Stu starts shaking his head.

Stu: What has happened Bret? We were supposed to continue the Hart legacy. You and Owen together. You were supposed to pass the torch, but you couldn’t let Owen have his glory. You couldn’t let him with the Royal Rumble and you couldn’t let him win the Championship last week. Your selfish Bret and you know that Owen is just as good a wrestler as you and it pains you to see him about to take your place. It’s going to happen one way or another Bret. Owen will win the big one at some stage whether that be this year, next year or in ten years time. He’ll do it and you why, because he has Hart blood just like me, just like yourself Bret. I’m pleading that you call off your match at Over the Edge and let Owen have his chance at stardom. I’m scared Bret, I’m scared you will do something stupid that I know you don’t mean. I don’t want to see either of you get hurt so please, for you old man, please call off the match.

Bret stood transfixed to his spot obviously taking in his fathers words, but then shocking everybody in the attendance, the sick twisted Bret Hart pushed his eighty four year old father onto the floor and then as everybody in the crowd watched on, quiet, he just walked straight past and slid out of the ring.

http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/2623/owenhartwa7.jpg

Owen sprinted from the back as the crowd suddenly found their voices, they screamed in excitement as Owen raced after Bret who turned around and leapt over the barrier and into the crowd. Owen choose to tend to his father in the ring instead of chasing Bret through the crowd.

The Rock vs. Sid Vicious

http://i49.tinypic.com/2eeh4pz.jpgvs.http://i45.tinypic.com/2j45xlv.jpg

The Rock entertained the crowd throughout selling Sid’s power brilliantly and knowing the right time to fight back and really get the crowd on his side. Sid looked good here though and Rock was struggling against his strength and size. Out of nowhere though the Rock nailed Sid with a rock bottom, but die to the punishment he had sustained earlier was unable to make the cover. With both men down Marc Mero sprinted in from the back and picked up a chair from ringside. As The Rock leapt to his feet looking to finish Sid off he was levelled with the chair from Mero.

Winner: The Rock via Disqualification

Match Rating: C

After the match Mero began forcing the chair into the mid section of The Rock who was rolling around in agony. Sid stood up obviously frustrated at losing the match due to disqualification and confronted Mero Mero tried to hit him with the chair, but Sid blocked it and snatched the chair from him. He tossed it over the ropes and lifted Mero up for a power bomb. He slammed Mero down to the mat and left for the back.

Ric Flair is spotted walking backstage with a contract clutched in his hand. He peeps round the door of a room entitled ‘Medical Room’ and enters. Mankind is being patched by a few doctors after the attack earlier by DX.

Flair: I’d ask how you were doing, but I think I know the answer to that one.

Mankind: Oh Flair, good to see you man.

Flair: You think you’ll be ok to wrestle at Over the Edge then?

Mankind: Are you being serious Ric? You should know me better. I’d wrestle like this if I had to.

Flair: Another question I knew the answer to.

Mankind: Is that the contract I gave you last week?

Flair: Certainly is.

Mankind: And…

Flair: Well brother, I’ve looked it through and if you want me to sign it then I will.

Mankind: Do it, I’ve even got a pen, here you go.

Flair: Wait a minute Mick. When they attacked you earlier tonight it made me think. They can attack you whenever they want up til the PPV just not in the match. There was every chance they’d beat you up so bad that Michaels would have it won before it started. So I whipped this little baby up about twenty minutes ago.

Flair pulls out another piece of paper from his pocket and hands it to Mankind begins to glance over it. He looks back up at Flair and hands it back to him along with his pen.

Flair: I knew you’d like it pal.

The New Age Outlaws vs. British Bulldog and Lance Storm

http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/8372/billygunn19982gk3.jpghttp://img80.imageshack.us/img80/570/jessejames1998dc9.jpgvs.http://i27.tinypic.com/1zmkuhl.jpghttp://i50.tinypic.com/314zafd.jpg

Bulldog, who has really been getting over with the fans recently received a great pop which would also help the confidence of the debutant Lance Storm who came out with Bulldog. They were also accompanied by Niedhart who had earlier vowed the manage the team. The Outlaws as ever were looking good and looked to get Storm stranded in the corner and use some double team offence, but Storm wouldn’t let it happen, he had a counter for everything and it was clear he was a terrific technical performer.

Thanks to some dirty tactics that we have come to expect from The Outlaws they managed to subdue Storm who showed tremendous resilience as he kept showing life and kicking out pinfalls. Finally he managed to stretch just enough to tag in Bulldog who flew into the ring clothes lining everything in site. After putting both Outlaws on the mat a few times he literally threw Gunn over the ropes and then hit a running power slam on Roaddog. Surprisingly he didn’t cover and instead tagged in Storm to finish him off. Storm didn’t waste time and locked on his Canadian Maple Leaf finishing move which had The Roadie tapping.

Winners: Bulldog and Storm

Match Rating: D+

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Backstage Kurt Angle and Vince McMahon are arguing about Angle’s partner for Over the Edge.

Vince: Who the hell is that?!

Angle: Trust me on this one Vince. He’s a damn good fighter, been doing it on the streets since he was like 15. We can work well together.

Vince: Kurt, do I need to inform you how much is riding on this match? If you win then Austin never gets a shot at the Title, ever, but if he wins then he can have one whenever he damn well pleases. I will not see the WWF Title around his waist!

Angle: I got ya boss and I know how bad it will be if he wins, but we don’t need a big star here. The guy I’ve got will do a better job then anyone available. We can do it boss. We won’t let Austin get his shot.

Vince takes a deep breath.

Vince: You better get the job done Kurt, you hear me? Cos if you don’t…

Angle gulps.

Angle: Austin won’t get his hands on the Title.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again the camera takes us backstage, but this time into the locker room of Kane who is getting ready for his match later tonight.

Bearer: Go out there tonight Kane and show everybody why you are the most feared monster on this ear…

Suddenly the lights start to flicker on and off before they settle on a dark setting, not dark enough though that we can’t see the fear etched onto Bearer’s face. Kane stands transfixed on the spot and as a voice begins to speak he looks around to try and find where it’s coming from.

Undertaker: Kane, the time has come for us to finish this bitter, brutal rivalry and find out who truly is the darkest and most dominant wrestler here in this company.

Bearer looks very scared upon hearing The Undertaker. as Kane is still looking to see where the voice is coming from.

Undertaker: I went back to see our father Kane. I showed him what you did to me at Unforgiven and he had one message for me. Take Kane to hell! Take him there and don’t let him return. I agreed Kane, at Over the Edge we finish this, we finish it in… hell in a cell!

Bearer gasps as Kane still continues to look for the voice, unfazed by The Deadman.

Undertaker: That is where you will finally rest… in… peaccceee.

‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’ Ken Shamrock vs. Ahmed Johnson

http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/8081/kenshamrockxt7.jpgvs.http://img398.imageshack.us/img398/6875/ahmedjohnsonmk6.jpg

A relatively easy match for the former Intercontinental Champion here despite some small scares from Johnson. After locking in that ankle lock there was really only going to be one outcome and that was Johnson’s hand tapping the mat.

Winner: Ken Shamrock

Match Rating: C-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Backstage Shawn Michaels is ready for a promo.

Michaels: You better be watching Mankind, whether your in the hospital or whether your on your way home. You better be watching this. I don’t need DX’s help at Over the Edge. I beat Owen Hart in a steel cage. Where were my buddies then? I beat you at Wrestlemania to win this damn thing and where was my help!? I don’t need it Mankind so you can get whatever contract signed by that son of a bi*ch Ric Flair you want the end result will always be the same. Mankind, I’ve told you once and I’ll tell you a thousand times, you ain’t getting this title back and you sure as hell won’t be beating the Heartbreak Kid.

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin vs. Triple H vs. Kane

http://i34.tinypic.com/2pqnjhd.jpgvs.http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/7406/tripleh1998mt7.jpgvs.http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/189/kanemask1998vn6.jpg

A great main event for Raw tonight with three of the companies top stars. Austin was looking for momentum over Vince and a win over The Corporations Kane would do that. Kane needed this going into his blow off match with The Undertaker and Triple H probably saw this as his breakout win that could help to elevate him into the title frame in the future.

Kane showed his strength early on as he had both Austin and Triple H in opposite corners and was bouncing off each using every pound of his 300lb+ weight to his advantage. Kane continued to take down both men before finally focusing his efforts on Triple H. This freed up Austin to gain a little breather before getting Kane with a chop block an hard kick to the stomach once he was on his knees. Triple H sprung into life and connected with a spine buster on Austin, but Kane was there to break up the three count.

As is normally the case in a triple threat environment, nobody really ever had the upper hand. All three men shared offence here and there and it was tough to pick anybody to win the match. Kane managed to wriggle free of a sleeper hold that was being applied by Austin and clotheslined Triple H out of the ring, he was resting up on the ropes. Kane then turned to hit Austin, but Austin ducked and hit Kane with a kick to the gut. The crowd suddenly found their voices as Austin went for a stunner, but Kane strugged it off and instead hit Austin with a choke slam. One…Two…Thrre… No! Triple H had made it back in the ring in time to break it up. It was still anybodies game as Triple H started to go to work on Kane.

After a few hard hits on Kane, Triple H hit him with a face buster and then caught him before he was about to hit the ground and hit a pedigree. Triple H instinctively went for the cover, but before he could do anything he fell victim to a stunner from Austin who had just leapt to his feet moments before. Triple H bounced off Austin’s shoulder and Austin quickly made a cover and the referee counted to three as Kane was beginning to stir.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooo!

http://i46.tinypic.com/ru34o4.jpg

The distinct music of the WWF Commissioner ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair strikes up and he receives a mixed reaction from the crowd who obviously don’t like him working with Vince, but are happy he’s been helping Mankind out in the title match.

Flair struts down to the ring bellowing ‘Woooo’ every now and then. He stepped into the ring and began to address the crowd.

Flair: Woooooo! Boy have I got some news that you lot here in Des Moines, Iowa are gonna love. Wooooo! You saw last week that I gave Mankind a brand spanking new contract which your Commissioner felt the need to issue after what happened last week. Not only does that contract ban all outside interference during the title match at Over the Edge, but if anybody involved attacks another before the match they relinquish their title or shot at the title immediately. I’m talking to you Shawn Michaels brother and you’re no good pals over in DX. You even so much as touch Mankind tonight, next week on Raw and all the time before the Pay Per View then you forfeit that Title you love so much pal.

Break it Down!

Shawn Michaels angrily steps out from the behind the curtain accompanied only by Triple H to back him up. He walks down the ramp shouting profanities at Flair who smiles back at them not moving from his spot.

Flair: You don’t want to be doing something you’ll regret pal, I’ll make your life hell if you do.

Michaels: Who do you think you are eh Ric? You’re talking to the WWF Champion, your WWF Champion. You can come up with all the stipulations under the sun, keep em coming Ric, but every one extra that you add just proves how damn good I really am.

Flair: It ain’t about how good you are Shawn. It’s about making this a fair bout brother. It’s about giving the fans a fight to remember and a rightful close on this chapter. It’s Mankind’s final shot at the gold and I’m just doing my job.

Michaels: Your job isn’t being Mankind’s permanent ass wiper Ric; art cayou climb out from there and stlling this one down the god damn middle.

Flair: Brother, when the Nature Boy’s mind is made up then there ain’t no going back. Diamonds are forever brother, and so is my word. Woooo!...

Flair is cut off mid wooo by Triple H who begins kneeing the commissioner right in the mid section. He pedigrees Flair onto the mat as Michaels thrusts the title right into his face. The two take off down the aisle, but as they reach the ramp they are called back by Flair.

Flair: I told you Shawn. I told you not to do that pal. Now you gotta pay the price! Wooooooo! Triple H tonight you’ll go one on one with… Mankind!

The crowd goes crazy at the announcement of tonight’s main event as Michaels has to restrain Triple H who is clearly not happy at being in action.

Flair: And if you lose Hunter, your buddy Shawn Michaels has to face the opponent of Mankind’s choosing next week on Raw! Wooooooooooo!

Flair smiles at the two members of DX as they point up from the ramp shouting profanities as the show cuts to commercial.

The Mexican Warriors vs. Tajiri and Kid Kash

http://i45.tinypic.com/90apvq.jpghttp://i50.tinypic.com/wo2ts.jpgvs.http://i28.tinypic.com/izuzav.jpghttp://i38.tinypic.com/2yobcp5.jpg

Despite The Mexican Warriors combined experience it was the entertaining high flying style of the two younger men that was getting the job done in the early going. The crowd were cheering for Kash and Tajiri throughout and every high risk maneuver successfully hit by them was greeted with a cheer. Unfortunately it was the high risk game that was their downfall. The Mexican Warriors weren’t bothered about flashiness and pleasing the crowd, they were just out to win the match. Tajiri came jumping off the top rope onto Chavo Guerrero looking for a hurracanrana, but Guerrero reversed into a power bomb and managed to pick up the victory.

Winners: Mexican Warriors

Match Rating: E+

After the match the Mexican Warriors stayed in the ring as the same music that we heard two weeks ago at Unforgiven hits and Sean Waltman arrogantly walks down the ramp and gets into the ring with his acquaintances.

http://i47.tinypic.com/i5bwuq.jpg

Waltman: Now I know what you’re all wondering. You wanna see me wrestle that piece of garbage Sasuke for the Title yeah?

This is met by unanimous boos from the pro Sasuke crowd.

Waltman: Don’t worry it’ll happen, but not quite yet. You see I’m recovering from a neck injury and although the recovery is going great I ain’t ready to step into the ring with a crazy worker like Sasuke who I know would just intentionally hurt me again. I am out here to issue you a challenge though Sasuke. How about at Over the Edge, you get yourself a partner and come face my buddies the Mexican Warriors in some tag action?

http://img398.imageshack.us/img398/8465/greatsasukeqs4.jpg

The crowd cheer as Sasuke’s music hits and he steps out onto the ramp.

Sasuke: I face you guys at Over the Edge, Waltman, and when am done, you gonna be next.

Waltman smiles down at Sasuke who is understandingly still struggling with English.

Backstage, Sable and The Rock are talking in his dressing room.

Sable: I had to tell him Rock. It was killing me hiding it and it means we can go public.

The Rock: Mero had been a friend, he’d been good to The Rock, you should of let me tell him what was going on. This wasn’t the right time Sable, you cost The Rock his match with Sid last week, not Marc, Sid was beat, centre of the ring and you go spill it all out to Mero.

Sable: I’m sorry Rock, but he had to know the truth. There was never going to be a good time.

The Rock: No, no, no. The Rock would have found a good time. Because of you Sable The Rock is gonna have to take his boot, shine it up real nice, turn it sideways, and stick it straight up Marc Mero’s candy ass!

Sable: No Rock! Please don’t hurt him.

The Rock: Then what do you propose The Rock does? Sing him a little song? Do a little dance for him? No! The Rock has one better. Why doesn’t The Rock go out there and apologise to Mero. No, listen one second, it‘d be good. The Rock could say I’m sorry Mero for f**king your wife behind your back and ending your marriage, we pals?

Sable doesn’t looks pleased with the Rock’s sarcasm, but he just scowls at her.

The Rock: The fact of the matter, Sable, the fact of the matter is this, Mero attacked me last week and The Rock has to get him back. Whatever it takes The Rock will get Mero back for that little cheap shot attack he did last week. That was uncalled for, you know that, right in the middle of The Rock’s match. You stay out this Stable because The Rock knows one thing, The Rock will be kicking Mero’s candy ass before the night is up… If ya smell… what the rock… is cooking!

The Rock storms out leaving Sable to mull over what will happen tonight.

Ahmed Johnson vs. Marc Mero

http://img398.imageshack.us/img398/6875/ahmedjohnsonmk6.jpgvs.http://i25.tinypic.com/1zpmalw.jpg

Mero looked a completely changed man and no longer showed the sloppiness in the ring he had shown in recent months; in fact he looked intense and very, very impressive. It seemed like Sable leaving Mero was just the kick start he needed to want to prove himself again. He hit a brilliant marvelocity on Johnson showing the crowd that had missed Mero aerial ability.

Winner: Marc Mero

Match Rating: D

If ya Smellll… What The Rock… Is Cooking

http://i49.tinypic.com/2eeh4pz.jpg

The Rock walked down the ramp with his usual big strides, raising the eyebrow as he went.

The Rock: You think your impressive beating this little jabroni? How about you go toe to toe with The Great One right now?

The Rock crouches down a bit as he prepares for Mero who starts nodding angrily at The Rock. Suddenly though The Rock’s attention is turned as Sables comes clambering up from the back screaming for them to stop. As The Rock turns his back he is met with clubbing blow from Mero who knocks him out of the ring as Sable rushes up the ramp to his aid. Mero smiles sickeningly as The Rock pushes Sable away and heads to the back without her.

Rhino vs. Bob Holly

http://i47.tinypic.com/301jxi8.jpgvs.http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/4082/bobhowardka3.jpg

Holly put up a good fight here showing that he is a very tough wrestler. He went toe to toe with Rhino in the hitting stakes and managed to redden the Man Beast’s chest with some hard chops. It wasn’t long though before Rhino was on the offensive as he whipped Holly into every turnbuckle and followed up with a huge clothesline. Holly stumbled to the centre of the ring after the final clothesline and Rhino pounced hitting the gore and getting another impressive victory. With King of the Ring just around the corner, who could stop Rhino?

Winner: Rhino

Match Rating: D-

As Bob Holly clambered to his feet Rhino turned around and instantly hit another terrifying gore to make an exclamation point. Holly flopped back to the floor in a heap.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We head backstage and into the locker room of The Hart Foundation.

Niedhart: You guys were awesome last week. I knew I made the right decision stepping down.

Bulldog: I think we gotta be praising Lance on this one. Way to go man. You were good last week.

Niedhart: I’m praising both of ya’s. I think we’re onto something here. Those tag titles, they’ll be ours in no time.

Suddenly Owen Hart bursts through the door and doesn’t even stop to acknowledge his teammates. Bulldog looks irate, but Niedhart holds out his hand to stop him venting his feelings.

Niedhart: I got this. Owen, what’s up?

Owen puts his head in his hands and drags his head across them.

Owen: Did you not see what Bret did last week?! He pushed my dad over! I don’t think I can wait until Over the Edge Jim.

Niedhart: Owen your falling right into his trap, remember, he’s tried all this before and he failed, you shook off his mind games back then and you can it now. Don’t confront Bret until the PPV, please? He’ll have all sorts of ambushes ready, he’ll win that match any way possible, you mark my words.

Owen: It’s going too far Jim. This isn’t about a wrestling match anymore. It’s about ending that son of a bi*ch once and for all. I don’t even want to hear his name never mind see his face.

Niedhart: Just promise me you won’t do anything stupid Owen? I’m only looking out for ya.

Owen doesn’t look at Niedhart and doesn’t say a word.

Niedhart: Promise!

Owen screws up his face.

Owen: I won’t go near him til the pay per view… but what if he comes near me?

Niedhart thinks for a moment before answering.

Niedhart: Well I give you permission to break the bas**rds legs!

Owen and Niedhart smile at each other before they join Bulldog and Storm at the table.

Kurt Angle vs. Steve Blackman

http://i47.tinypic.com/34rxij5.jpgvs.http://i30.tinypic.com/2m601dw.jpg

Just like last week against Steve Williams, Blackman was impressive in his approach and gave Angle some nervy moments, and against most of the roster he would have been able to grab a victory today, but Angle was too good for him and wasn’t lacking form. He threw Blackman around the ring with some suplexes, hit an angle slam, and then locked on the ankle lock all in one sweep showing just how dangerous he can be.

Winner: Kurt Angle

Match Rating: D+

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the show returns from commercial we head backstage. The loud response from the crowd can only mean one thing as ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin appears on the titantron. He strides along the corridor, but is stopped by a scrawny little member of the backstage crew. Austin looks him up and down as the worker stands there clearly intimidated.

Austin: And what the hell do you want?

Worker: Mr Austin… sir… err… there’s a package arrived for you if you…errr… would just follow me.

Austin stares at the worker as he stands there waiting for Austin to make a move. Finally he holds out his hand indicating for the worker to take Austin to his package.

The two turn the corner, but screaming can be heard and the cameraman quickly scrambles around the corner so we can see what’s happened. Austin is laying there on the floor as Kurt Angle, still panting from his match, is stood over him with a sick smile on his face. The member of the backstage crew looks completely petrified.

Worker: (shaking) Can I have my money Mr. Angle.

Angle stares a hole straight through him.

Angle: (laughing) You really think I was gonna be giving you money? Now get lost before I do this to you.

The worker is clearly angry and reluctantly stands up to Angle who looks taken aback.

Worker: I did this for you Angle and god knows I didn’t want to so I want my cut.

Angle looks at the worker for a moment before sighing and reaching down for his wallet. Suddenly he flips and hits an angle slam on the worker onto the hard backstage floor. Angle then starts beating his chest and panting more heavily than before as he lets out a roar of aggression and walks away from his scene of carnage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

A video plays on the titantron showing some very inventive wrestling moves done by somebody who clearly isn’t contracted with the WWF. After the short video plays some text appears.

Unmatched.

Incomparable.

Unique.

At Over the Edge, ‘The Innovator of Offence’ graces the World Wrestling Federation.

Lawler: Wow, did you see some of those wrestling moves! I don’t know who this guy is, but it seems exciting.

Vader vs. Owen Hart

http://i48.tinypic.com/6xt7y0.jpgvs.http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/2623/owenhartwa7.jpg

Owen Hart faced one mammoth task tonight, but he didn’t seem fazed one bit. He knew that stepping in the ring with Vader, but be nothing compared to the hardcore date he had with his brother in two weeks time. The match began as you would expect with Vader attempting to throw his whole weight in the path of Owen who dodged his way through some early scares. Owen used his quick mat wrestling skills to his advantage here as he grounded the big man for much of the match and didn’t allow him to use his power. Once he locked on the sharpshooter even the biggest of men can’t resist the pain.

Winner: Owen Hart

Match Rating: B-

As Owen stands triumphant in the ring, his brother Bret appears on the titantron receiving a chorus of boos from the crowd.

Bret: Hey Owen, turn around Owen. Over here.

Owen scowls even before he has the time to turn around an instinct that Owen has developed over the recent weeks upon hearing the voice of his brother.

Bret: Good win tonight man. That sharpshooter, almost as good as mine I must say.

Bret’s calm, nonchalant tone just infuriates Owen further who starts panting heavily as he continues to stare at his brother on the titantron.

Bret: So, how’s dad doing?

Owen starts breathing even more heavily at this comment and shouts at a member of the ringside crew to toss him a microphone.

Owen: You son of a bi*ch! I’m gonna kill you!!

Bret: Ouch, death threats from my own flesh and blood. Now that hurts.

Owen: Flesh and blood!! Don’t you ever think you’re a part of this family again!! Ever! You pushed down my father last week, an eighty four year old man, a legend in this business, the man who made you what you are today, taught you all you know. How could you do it!

Bret: After all that you haven’t even answered my question. Never mind, that’s not important. What is important Owen, is what I’m gonna do to you at Over the Edge. Break your legs Owen! End your career! Bends those legs so much that your pathetic screams are heard across the world as everybody witnesses me, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart, the best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be, destroy everybody’s favorite underdog, the breakout star of the year. Owen, I’m prepared for a fight to the death so you better be too.

Owen: I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to punish you for what you’ve done to all of us. So yeah Bret, I’m prepared. Enough talk because words can’t do justice to how much pain I will cause you in two weeks time Bret.

Suddenly Owen is attacked from behind by the New Age Outlaws who had run from the crowd. Bret laughs as he witnesses proceedings from his safe house of the titantron. The Outlaws beat Owen down to the mat before taking off back into the crowd as The Hart Foundation storm down to help out their friend.

Jerry Lynn and Ken Shamrock vs. Jeff Jarrett and Goldust

http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/276/jerrylynnkd2.jpghttp://img55.imageshack.us/img55/8081/kenshamrockxt7.jpgvs.http://i31.tinypic.com/34e6g0k.jpghttp://i35.tinypic.com/5vi21.jpg

It was clear Goldust and Jarrett would have problems teaming together here despite only a few weeks ago being the best of friends. Goldust wasn’t prepared to forgive Jarrett for turning his back on him upon winning the title and made that clear early on as he refused a tag from Jarrett who then got his ass handed to him from Shamrock. Jarrett showing his resolve though hung in there and fought back against his old foe Jerry Lynn, albeit with a low blow, but he still came back into it for his virtually one man team.

Goldust finally decided to get involved, but didn’t acknowledge Jarrett when he made the tag. Lynn and Shamrock, however, were tagging very well and clearly just wanted to win tonight and gain some momentum. Goldust wasn’t prepared just yet to let that happen though as he wrestled brilliantly against Shamrock showing that he isn’t just good at being Jarrett’s crony. Suddenly though after Goldust managed to get on top in a battle with Shamrock he moved towards Jarrett tagged him, and then tossed him into the ring. He stepped down the steel steps and walked slowly to the back as Shamrock began tearing Jarrett limb from limb. He locked on the ankle lock and Jarrett tapped on the mat as Goldust smiled back at him. He didn’t see this as a loss at all.

Winner: Jerry Lynn and Ken Shamrock

Match Rating: C-

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Backstage we are greeted with the sound of Kane cracking a steel chair over his brother, The Undertaker’s, head. Blood begins to pour down the face of Undertaker as Kane deepens the wound with series of punches. It was clear from the Undertaker’s eyes that he had no idea where he was. Kane had obviously attacked Taker from behind looking for an advantage as the two prepared for a trip into the Cell. Kane continued throwing Undertaker around backstage into trash cans and tables and even into people who were casually minding their own business only to have a 320 pounder catapulted into them. Some foolishly tried to stop Kane and you can probably guess what happened to them. Finally Kane ended the assault as he whipped Undertaker head first into a solid glass window. The glass shattered everywhere as dozens of people rushed to the aid of The Deadman.

Mankind vs. Triple H

Triple H knew exactly what winning this match would mean. Mankind would have to face an opponent of Shawn Michael’s choice next week which would probably mean two grueling encounters before a showdown with a fresh Michaels. Mankind had the chance to handpick an opponent for Michaels though which would turn everything on its head and give mankind a very good chance of reclaiming his Championship.

Triple H started the match tentatively as though he was fighting for a title, he obviously didn’t want to let Michaels down. Mankind wasn’t letting Triple H set a pace though and took it to him early on. Mankind was just too fired up and without interference he had nothing to be worried about. Everything he had was focused on doing enough to put Triple H away which after both men gave everything he managed to do after a piledriver.

Winner: Mankind

Match Rating: A

After the match Mankind ushers for a member of the ringside crew to pass him a microphone.

Mankind: You see that Shawn! I beat your guy and now you gotta beat mine next week. I would tell ya who Shawn, but I ain’t giving you any head starts. Let’s just say he’s a real good friend of mine.

The game is probably ready to play on TEW 10 so I just got one more show to put up followed by the PPV and i'll get it going. Ross: Hello folks and welcome to Raw is War. We are just six days away from Over the Edge and just six days away from possibiliy the two most brutal matches in our history as Bret and Owen Hart battle out their differences under I Quit rules and Kane and Undertaker's rivalry comes to an end in only the second hell in a cell match ever in the company.

Lawler: It's going to be one packed night JR.

Cornette: Yes it will be brutal JR, but only because Bret Hart and Kane have shown what their made of in recent weeks. They have given their opponents only a taster of whats to come and I'm pretty sure we're going to see careers ended in six days time.

With the card for Over the Edge already stacked the rematch from Unforgiven was held here on Raw is War. It was a relatively comfortable victory for the tag team champions who are looking more and more like a great dominant force in the tag team division as of late and were something that Edge and Christian, at this early stage in their career, just couldn’t contend with. No doubt their time would come, but tonight was just another victory for Bigelow and Vader as they kept the gold within the confines of the Corporation.

Winners and still WWF Tag Team Champions, Bigelow and Vader

Backstage Mankind is spotted outside a locker room. He takes a deep breath before opening the door.

Mankind: Hey man, how ya been keeping?

The crowd pop as hardcore legend Terry Funk steps into view obviously a lifelong friend of Mankind. The two share a heartfelt hug in the middle of the locker room.

Funk: I ain’t so bad Mick.

Mankind: Good to hear Terry. You psyched for your match tonight?

Funk: Yeah I can’t wait to get back in the ring in front of all the fans, but I gotta ask Mick, why did ya pick me?

Mankind: We’re best friends Terry. It had to be you.

Funk: But you could have had guys like The Undertaker or ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

Mankind: I wanted you. I believe you can give Michaels one hell of a fight tonight.

Funk: Ahh, I dunno Mick. Shawn’s in his prime, he’s pretty damn good, I just think you’d be better off asking somebody who could really beat him tonight.

Mankind: You don’t think you can beat him Terry?

Funk shrugs his shoulders.

Mankind: I don’t believe it, you don’t think you have a chance do you? When has this ever stopped you before Terry? Now normal wrestlers, no they don’t stand a chance against somebody who’s as good a performer as Shawn, but you’re not normal Terry. Nowhere near. How many people are still wrestling in their mid fifties? I know for a fact that I won’t be. How many more people can do a moonsault at that age? And how many more people can claim to be a hardcore legend? Now if my calculations are correct only one person fits that bill and that person is you Terry. You really think that Michaels believes this will be a walk in the park tonight? He can say how easy he’ll win this fight however much he wants, but we all know he’s sat in his locker room right now quavering in his boots at the prospect of facing a true hardcore legend. He’s scared, Terry, he’s scared of you, just like he’s scared of facing me at Over the Edge.

Mankind pauses for a moment and clutches hold of Funk’s shoulders.

Mankind: We’re here Terry in Amarillo, Texas, your hometown and tonight is the night that you, Terry Funk, become a true wrestling legend. If you go out there tonight at 53 years old and beat the WWF Champion, a man in the prime of his career, nobody will forget you. There’s people out there tonight who will just have a vague idea of what you’ve done in this business, you’ve revolutionised wrestling, and there’s people out there who think you don’t have a hope in hell of walking out here while the Champion lays flat on his back, but those people are wrong, those people don’t know you like I do. I know you can do this Terry and you know you can. So stop hiding in the shadows and go out there on Raw is War and shut that co*ky son of a bi*ch up for good. It’s your night Terry!

Funk nods at Mankind who grasps hold of him tighter.

Funk: Rwarrr! I’ll do it for you Mick. This is my night!

The Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett is spotted walking backstage when he is stopped by WWF Commissioner Ric Flair.

Jarrett: Ric, may I just say what a pleasure this is for me, a true legend in this business and somebody that I aspire to be as good as everyday in my life.

Flair smiles at Jeff and then starts to speak, but is cut off by Jarrett.

Jarrett: That is a beautiful suit Ric, simply exquisite, now what is so important that you must talk to the WWF’s Intercontinental Champion?

Flair: First of all Jeff, yeah this is one hell of a suit pal, and if you want me to tell you where I get them well that can wait for now.

Jarrett: I’d love to know Ric, you have such good…

Flair puts his hand up as a signal for Jarrett to stop speaking.

Flair: But that’s not why I’m here.

Jarrett: No, course not.

Flair: I’m here regarding your Intercontinental Title.

Jarrett: My Title? What about my Title?

Flair: About it being on the line next week pal.

Jarrett: I don’t think I’m following you Ric, I mean me and you, we have so much common, I was thinking that instead of me putting this title on the line next week, me and you, we go out to this great little place I know and…

Flair puts his hand up again.

Flair: Now I’m a busy man Jeff and I ain’t stood here talking to you because I enjoy your company pal. Quite the opposite brother, we have a pay per view next week and your Title will be on the line whether you like it or not pal.

Jarrett: Of course Ric, I can do any other night this week if you want, so which one of those sorry asses back their am I putting this prestigious belt on the line against?

Flair: Oh I’m glad you asked Jeff because you’re not putting your belt on the line against one of those back there, no pal, far from it.

Jarrett: Who then? We got a new guy?

Flair: You need to let me finish brother. No your not putting your belt on the line against ONE of those back there, your going against three people brother.

Jarrett: Thhhrrreeee peooopplllee?!?!

Flair: Oh yes. It’s gonna be you defending against three men you know very well this year. The man you faced at Wrestlemania, Jerry Lynn, the man you turned your back on a month ago, Goldust and the man you won the title from, ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’ Ken Shamrock! Wooooooo!

Jarrett stood there in a state of shock obviously not expecting his first defence to come against three other people.

Flair: Still want to go for that meal pal? Woooooo!

Flair struts off down the corridor leaving Jarrett shaking his head in disbelief.

Rhino vs. Taka Michinoku

http://i47.tinypic.com/301jxi8.jpgvs.http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/4974/takamichinokucf2.jpg

As expected Taka tried to tire out Rhino early by making him chase him around the ring which Rhino was only too happy to do. Rhino didn’t tire out though and finally got his hands on Taka. A violent beat down proceeded as Rhino threw the Light Heavyweight around the ring with ease. As Taka clambered to his feet his was hit with a vicious gore from the Man Beast.

Winner: Rhino

Match Rating: D-

Rhino stalked his opponent in the corner once more as he looked for the exclamation point which usually followed his match. Taka stood up, but must have been wishing he he’d have stayed down as Rhino pounced with a second gore virtually breaking Taka Michinoku in half.

The camera pans backstage where DX are Triple H and Shawn Michaels are arguing about last week.

Michaels: Thanks a lot Hunter. Great friend you are.

Triple H: Don’t start this again Shawn. Your just gonna have to go prove how good you are.

Michaels: I shouldn’t need to Hunter. You had one simple task. Beat Mankind last week and you couldn’t even do that. I don’t know how you expect to get anywhere in this company if you can’t even beat overweight lumps like Mankind.

Triple H: You don’t think I’m good enough Shawn?

Michaels: Hey bro, I’m just going on the evidence of last week.

Triple H: Well if that’s what you think Shawn then I guess you don’t need my help anymore. I have a plan which could involve you retaining your belt without even breaking sweat, but you go out there and do it your way. Face Funk tonight and face Mankind at Over the Edge on your own, lose the belt, see if I care.

Triple H goes and sits at the table and starts shuffling a pack of cards. Michaels scratches his head and then goes to sit next to Triple H

Michaels: Come on Hunter man. You know I love like brother so don’t make me say it. Let’s hear this plan bro.

After much deliberation Triple H decides to spill his idea to Michaels. Obviously as the conversation began to get interesting the camera panned back to ringside.

Jerry Lynn vs. Ken Shamrock

http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/276/jerrylynnkd2.jpgvs.http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/8081/kenshamrockxt7.jpg

Everybody knew that Shamrock had the ability to regain his title at Over the Edge, but for Jerry Lynn that was another matter. He needed to wrestle a good match in order to be taken seriously as a big threat going into the fatal four way match. In fact this was a very even bout only separated by Shamrock and his ankle lock submission move. Lynn managed to get a few near falls, but never managed to connect with a cradle Piledriver or else the ending could have been very different. Once Shamrock had the ankle lock attached though Lynn had to tap, he couldn’t risk injury ahead of a very important match in his career.

Winner: Ken Shamrock

A video plays on the titantron showing some very inventive wrestling moves done by somebody who clearly isn’t contracted with the WWF. After the short video plays some text appears.

Unmatched.

Incomparable.

Unique.

At Over the Edge, ‘The Innovator of Offence’ graces the World Wrestling Federation.

Backstage Ric Flair is seen strutting his way to an office entitled ‘Vince McMahon’. He knocks once and then enters.

Flair: You wanted to see me Vince?

Vince: Ah yes Ric, I most certainly did.

Flair takes a seat opposite Vince as he swivels around in his chair.

Vince: It’s a very important night next week Ric as I’m sure you’re aware. We can’t let that no good redneck get a shot at the WWF Championship. There is No Chance we can let that happen.

Flair: Hey Vinnie Boy I’m hearing you. Don’t you worry abou…

Vince: I don’t think your hearing me clearly enough Ric. This isn’t a joking matter; it’s very, very serious. If we win that match then there is no chance of Austin receiving a title shot… Ever!

Flair: Its huge Vince, I know that. You don’t need to tell me how huge it is.

Vince: So I assume you have a plan in place if things aren’t going well?

Flair smiles at his boss.

Flair: You don’t know me at all Vince. They don’t call me the dirtiest player in the game without good reason. Oh I have a plan pal, I have a plan that will shock even you, but you’ll just have to wait until Over the Edge.

Vince smiles menacingly.

Vince: Yes Ric! That’s what I wanted to hear. There’s no way we can lose this. I am still I little sceptical on Angle’s choice of partner though.

Flair: Don’t be Vince. This man knows who to fight. He won’t hold back. Trust me Vince. Him and Angle have this.

Vince: What about Austin? Any idea who’s helping him?

Flair smiles again.

Flair: I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns up alone.

The two start laughing to each other as the camera returns to the ring.

British Bulldog and Lance Storm vs. The Headbangers

Storm and Bulldog perform another impressive display of power and technical ability here as Storm looked to wear down The Headbangers with a series of submissions and hard hitting mat moves and Bulldog picked up the bones as Storm’s veteran like work. As we saw in their previous match as Bulldog hit a running powerslam on Thrasher. He then tagged in Storm who locked on the Canadian Maple Leaf which had Thrasher tapping.

Winners: Bulldog and Storm

Match Rating: D-

Crack!!

http://i34.tinypic.com/2pqnjhd.jpg

The crowd erupted as every one of them rose to their feet to greet the arrival of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

Austin walked quickly to the ring as he usually did and rose to every turnbuckle giving the crowd a Stone Cold salute as he did.

Austin: Kurt Angle you little son bi*ch. What the hell is your problem? Attacking the Rattlesnake last week while his back was turned. You’re just asking for trouble son and I’ll give it to you at Over the Edge. I’ve got a can of whoop ass back at the house labelled ‘Kurt Angle’ and I ain’t gonna be forgetting that in six days time!

Here Comes the Money!

http://i35.tinypic.com/6sc7qe.jpg

Austin stood transfixed to his spot as Shane McMahon appeared from behind the curtain wearing a very balanced expression. He walked slowly up the ramp as Austin didn’t take his eyes off his the whole way. He joined Austin in the ring and took a microphone from ringside.

Austin: Just what the hell are you wanting Shane?

Shane: Just let me speak Austin… I hear you need a partner for Over the Edge and I’m out here to offer me as a potential choice.

Austin went to speak, but Shane, assuming he was going to say no, interrupted and looked to persuade Austin more.

Shane: Austin I know what you’re going to say. You can’t trust me. I went behind your back and now you want nothing to do with me, but please let me prove to you I want to be on your side. I want to fight beside you Austin. I want to help you get this title shot.

Austin: Lets get one thing straight Shane. You had your chance with ol’ Stone Cold and you blew it. I don’t hand out second chances Shane. That ain’t my style. You get out of this ring and out of this company because I don’t want anything more to do with ya.

Austin points to the ramp showing Shane where he wants him to go.

Austin: And as for my partner. I’ve already god damn got one!

Shane McMahon obeyed Austin who wasn’t backing down. He walked slowly to the back not even bothering to argue with the Rattlesnake whose mind was clearly already made up.

Austin: And as for you, Kurt Angle, you mealy mouthed little b…

http://i47.tinypic.com/34rxij5.jpg

The distinct music of The Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle rings around the arena and is met by a chorus of boos.

Angle: Oh Austin. You just made a mistake there buddy. Oh its true Austin, you know you haven’t got a partner for this Sunday and I’m not saying that having Shane with you would help in the slightest, but it was the only hope you had, even if it was the smallest bit of hope possible. I’m a freaking Olympic Gold Medallist Austin. What the hell have you done in your life? You ain’t done a damn thing Austin and at Over the Edge I’ll make sure you won’t do anything more for your whole career when I beat your ass next week and end your dream of ever becoming the Champion down here. Oh it’s true. It’s damn true.

Austin: First of all Angle. Shut your damn mouth before I come down there and knock it right off your face. And who the hell you got yourself as a partner? You ain’t got jack sh*t Angle! You ain’t got nothing Angle! You think you’re the best right? Won a Gold Medal with a broken neck right? Best in this damn business yeah? Eeh Eeh! You think you got the guts Angle then get your punk ass down to this ring and we’ll go right here!

Austin throws both middle fingers up at Angle who is clearly enraged, but doesn’t budge.

Angle: I ain’t coming down there ton…

Austin: I thought I told you to shut your damn mouth! I can wait six more days to open up that can of whoop ass Kurt. I can wait as long as I need to wait because I know that when I get hold of ya I’ll beat your ass senseless and I won’t stop Kurt. Oh no, make sure you bring your dental records next week cos that’s the only way we’ll be able to recognise who you are after Stone Cold Steve Austin is done whooping your ass. You’re looking at the next World Wrestling Federation Champion and after I beat you and life partner I’ll cash my shot in any damn time I want and I’ll win that belt. Oh it’s true Kurt. It’s dammnn true!... And that’s the bottom line cos Stone Cold said so!

Jeff Jarrett vs. Goldust

http://i31.tinypic.com/34e6g0k.jpgvs.http://i35.tinypic.com/5vi21.jpg

Goldust was really looking forward to getting his hands on his former friend, a man who upon winning the Intercontinental Title turned his back on him. The cowardly Jarrett wanted nothing to do with Goldust in the early going and frequently slipped out to the outside to regain his composure and take a breather. After one escape too many Goldust had finally had enough and flung Jarrett back into the ring himself before starting to go to work on the Champ.

Goldust patiently probed taking his time to get his revenge on Jarrett and cause him as much pain as he could in a match that wouldn’t allow the use of foreign objects. This careful and cautious approach allowed Jarrett to worm his way back into the match and make things incredibly even as both men looked for the momentum boost going into a fatal four way match next week. The boost went to Goldust though as he caught Jarrett with a well executed curtain call to gain a pinfall over the Champion ahead of the Title match.

Winner: Goldust

Kane and Bret Hart vs. The Undertaker and Owen Hart

http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/189/kanemask1998vn6.jpghttp://i47.tinypic.com/kamf5e.jpgvs.http://i36.tinypic.com/14ipjwz.jpghttp://img162.imageshack.us/img162/2623/owenhartwa7.jpg

In just six days all four of these men would take part in two completely different, but equally brutal matches. Bret and Owen Hart would be fighting in a match so barbaric that the only way to gain victory is to brutalise your opponent so badly that they can’t take any more punishment and thus issue the words ‘I Quit’. After a long sibling rivalry which has seen some terrible things such as burnt flesh and mutilated body parts Kane and The Undertaker would be ending their bloody battles inside a steel cell with no escape. All four of these men will be having life changing matches at Over the Edge so it was no surprise to see them all this week taking it rather easily in this tag match and not wanting to give much away to their respective opponent as the thought of participating in the two matches would now be taking its toll.

The Undertaker was bandaged up after going through a glass window at the hands of Kane last week, but there was no way he would show any weakness by not participating. The Undertaker battled with Bret Hart most of the match as Kane was looking to save himself for hell in a cell. Undertaker was clearly hurt after being thrown through glass last week and suffering third degree burns during the inferno match last month, but he still gave his all. The turning point came when Owen Hart was down in the ring and Kane was on the offence. Undertaker entered illegally and pummelled his brother before locking the wrist and climbing the ropes looking to go old school, but Bret had it scouted and ran into the ropes sending The Deadman crashing onto the outside. Kane then shook his arm before hoisting Owen up from a grounded position into a devastating chokeslam, the velocity of which shook the ring. There was no way Owen was kicking out of that.

Winner: Kane and Bret Hart

Match Rating: B

Kane quickly stepped over the top rope and onto the outside as he battled through the crowd with his brother delivering hard hits all the way. The crowd’s booing increased significantly as they spotted Bret Hart eyeing him a downed Owen in the ring. He slipped into the ring and circled Owen before sliding back out. Ross let out a sigh of relief at ringside, but that was soon short-lived as Bret re-entered the ring clutching a steel chair. He wrapped Owen’s leg up in the chair and chair hard on the chair not once, but twice as Owen writhed around the ring in agony. Bret wanted to make Owen say I Quit before the match had even started. He then stood up in front of Owen and grabbed his legs as everybody in attendance knew what was coming. He locked Owen, who desperately clambered for the ropes, in the sharpshooter. Bret gritted his teeth, his hair covering his face; he learned back as far as he could, applying more pressure and making the pain even more unbearable. The crowd burst into cheering as Bulldog, Storm and Niedhart sprinted from the back forcing Bret to unleash the excruciatingly painful hold. Bret slipped out of the ring and was already running down the ramp before The Hart Foundation could react.

The announcer’s alluded to a brawl that had begun backstage which we soon saw was between Marc Mero and The Rock. The two weren’t holding back ahead of their match at Over the Edge. The Rock looked to be gaining an advantage, but as he was about to crack Mero about the head with a spare bit of drain pipe he found lying around, Sable came running from her locker room screaming for The Rock to stop. He managed to brush Sable off gently and swung the drain pipe at Mero, but as he did Sable jumped in to try and stop things and instead received the hit. The Rock stared at Sable, shocked at what he had done. Mero took his chance and caught The Rock with a low blow before slamming him on the concrete.

Shawn Michaels vs. Terry Funk

http://i49.tinypic.com/2lus9cg.jpgvs.http://i50.tinypic.com/wcojfl.jpg

As the match began the sold out crowd here in Amarillo Texas were electric as Constant chants of the name Terry Funk rang out deafeningly around the arena. Funk stood there revelling in the voices chanting his name as he willed for Michaels to approach him, but Michaels paced around smirking to himself as the fans continued to chant for The Funker. He was reluctant to hook up with the pumped up veteran and with good reason as some would argue it was two on one tonight with every member of the crowd completely on the side of Funk.

Finally Michaels locked up with Funk in the ring and caught him into a side headlock, but Funk slipped out, pushed Michaels into the ropes, and then followed up with a clothesline sending Michaels onto the mat and the crowd into raptures. As the match wore on Michaels was really struggling to hit anything on Funk who was proving a rather formidable opponent and at every opportunity he looked to dish out some more punishment to the WWF Champion, whether that was a simple punch or a more effective power move, he always answered with something after an unsuccessful attempt from Michaels. A great double underhook suplex from Funk sent Michaels crashing once again to the mat, but he was able to power out of a pinfall attempt.

As the match wore on there was obvious concerns for Funk’s stamina as Michaels, who had wrestled over sixty minutes in a legendary match with one of the best in the business only two years prior, was clearly not going to tire as quickly as Funk, Michaels stamina levels were simply unmatched so despite everybody cheering for their hometown hero, a part of them knew that if the match were to last much longer then Funk would need to dig deeper. It wasn’t looking like fatigue was going to kick in anytime soon though as Funk continued to feed off this crowd and off the inspiring words of his best friend Mankind early in the night. He brutalised Michaels further with a ten punch combination from the top rope.

Every fight back that Michaels tried to muster was immediately stopped instinctively from Funk, but to Michaels’ credit he continued to hang in. A weaker opponent would have definitely given in by now, but not Michaels; they would have had no choice but to give in after coming up against an instigated Funker. Funk looked for the exclamation mark as he readied Michaels for a Texas Piledriver which instantly got the sold out Amarillo crowd to their feet as a great roar rang out. The crowd’s mood soon changed though as the exhausted Michaels wasn’t ready to give in yet, he countered the Piledriver attempt with a DDT planting the 53 year old Funk straight onto his head. Despite the move from Michaels, Funk was first to his feet and holding his head with one hand he started beating Michaels with the other. Small Package! Michaels caught Funk in a small package out of nowhere! One…Two…Three.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Match Rating: B

Michaels quickly rolled out of the ring to tremendously loud boos from the crowd as Funk sat up in astonishment holding two fingers up to the ref indicating he didn’t think it was a three count. The sudden finish stunned the Amarillo crowd as Michaels hightailed up the ramp clutching hold of his Championship. As Michaels reached the platform his teammates Triple H and The New Age Outlaws walked out from behind the curtain. They helped Michaels to his feet and then paced slowly to the ring as Funk turned around to see them coming. He readied himself close to the ropes, his fists closed and in the air inferring he was ready to fight. As Triple H and The Outlaws entered the ring they were swarmed by Funk who threw arms and legs into their direction clearly irate at the way the match had ended. Michaels managed to sneak round the back of the ring and pick up a chair which he then wrapped around the back of Funk who curled up in pain. Triple H and The Outlaws then simultaneously began laying the boot into Funk before Michaels instructed them to subdue Funk. They held The Hardcore Legend on his knees as Michaels began shouting profanities at him. The WWF Champion, in a complete show of disrespect, then proceeded to spit in the face of Funk and then slap him hard around the cheek.

Mankind came running from the back to help out his friend wielding a steel chair. He wasn’t going to let DX do this to Funk in his hometown. He slid into the ring and cracked both Outlaws around the head with the chair before driving the chair into the ribs of Triple H. Michaels cowardly dropped to the floor and pleaded with Mankind not to hurt him, but it was too late, Mankind had made up his mind and smashed the chair around Michaels several times before kicking him out of the ring. He had gained revenge for his best friend, but as what cost? The rules of the contract stated that if Mankind was to attack Michaels before the match he would have to forfeit his Title shot. With Over the Edge just six days, do we even have a World Title match?
