Trying out the Death of WWE 2008 mod... and can't stop playing!

I'm WCW, and it's my first time ever playing a Global promotion.

I'm learning a lot and I wish I could roll back and make certain changes, but...well, **** happens, when you sign a bunch of overpriced has-beens for two year written contracts. Wasted money on Ken Shamrock and don't even use him.

I'm currently learning how to half-assedly run two brands.

I've got a main brand that has anyone over lightweight, which was the majority.

I've got another brand with anyone lightweight or under, and a women's division, with the product edited to integrated. I'm not sure if that makes it harder or easier, but we'll see.

The roster:

Main eventers:

Carlito, Ric Flair (creative control, $70k, but he's still a star-builder), Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Fit Finlay (WCW champion), Rey Mysterio, The Giant, Bobby Lashley, Elijah Burke, Lance Cade, Bill Goldberg

Upper midcard:

Paul London, Johnny Nitro, Tito Ortiz, Vladimir Kozlov, Chavo Jr, Matt Striker, Ken Doane, Ken Shamrock, Mark Henry, Joey Mercury, DDP, Ron Killings

Midcard:

Chad Collyer, Venom, Mike Modest, The Miz, Horace, Vito Thomaselli, Ultimo Dragon, Shane Helms, Ted DiBiase Jr, Eddie Colon, Jimmy Rave, Shannon Moore, Austin Aries, Sean Ohaire, Brutus Beefcake

Lower:

Kid Kash, Matt Stryker, Christian York, Nick Nemeth, and most of the women's division, rest don't matter--some prospects but they aren't over at all yet.

I'm running Nitro weekly for the main brand, and Main Event weekly as a B show for the 2nd brand. (Is that making it easier or harder?)

I reactivated the Battle Bowl, European Cup, and King of Cable tournaments to give me more direction with booking on occasional PPVs.

Bash at the Beach 2008 is tonight and here's what I have planned:

Finlay to retain against The Giant... probably drop it at the next pay per view. Short reign, just a 'thank you' to an under appreciated star.

Ric Flair vs Rey Mysterio, Rey will go over if Flair lets him... aim is to build the stars on the sub-brand now

Hulk Hogan vs Tito Ortiz - Hogan's jobbed a little bit recently, so I might put him over here to replenish his overness

Carlito & Trish vs ?? and ?? - Dunno what I'm gonna do here but I wanted to put Trish in something high profile cause she's over like crazy.

Vladimir Kozlov vs Booker T... Vladdyboy's jumped about 35pts in USA OVR in like 4 months. Will probably be winning World War 3 or something.

Lashley vs Johnny Nitro --Lashley was a pick for a strong world champ but need to build up the cruiserweight brand.

Bill Goldberg vs Ted Dibiase Jr--Goldy's not gonna like it, but Ted might go over here. Bill's getting old.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma here. I don't want the major stars winning constantly because the younger guys need to come up. However, the older stars are here to stay because I stupidly signed them all to 2 yr contracts.

Any suggestions on strategy on building up the young guys while keeping the old farts strong? My plan is to build up the cruiserweight belt's prestige slowly (from 40) and when it caps, switch it to floating, then to main event, to have major emphasis on lightweights on a separate brand. Same with the women's division, one day on a third brand.

I figure, if I build up guys like Rey and Nitro, they can transfer the magic over to their brand, and then I can rebuild on the main brand with different young guys. Would that work?

I mean, the computer can already just book regular shows with PPV calibur matches on it willy-nilly. It's sickening to have had a realy good year and then see the top 6 on the power 100 ALL be from one promotion, which oh incidentally also had match and card of the year. And then be there for years to come because they're barely getting any worse in spite of being in their fifties.

I was actually genuinely shocked to see that top ten on the power 100, lol. It's the first time I played a full year with a 'big' company and only Cornell even squeaked into tenth spot because of NOTBPW spamming Stones/Bloodstone/DeColt/McFly all year around.

I have a solution for the NOTBPW problem. Have a plane crash with most members of the McFly/Bloodstone/DeColts on it, leaving one surviving member as the new owner. Which takes NOTBPW down a notch and makes things a lot more fair for everyone. :D

Of course, I also advocate a scandal in America to bring down all 3 major American promotions, as well as CZCW jumping to Cult. But hey, what can you do...

Can you show it us :)

Surely.

Jeremy Stone took over and hired Pistol Pete Hall as his booker which explains some of the pushes

Dan Stone Jr.

Eddie Chandler

Jeremy Stone

John Maverick

R.K. Hayes

Sean McFly (A* popularity in USA and Canada)

Steve DeColt

Upper Mid:

Dark Angel

Davis Wayne Newton

Jack DeColt

Omar Brown

Owen Love

Ryan Powell

The Natural

Midcard:

Harrison Hash

Jason OÇonner

Lord James King

Mighty Cavanaugh

Nate Johnson

Shane Nelson

Thrill Seeker

Tim Westybrook

Trent Shaffer

Whippy The Clown

Lower Mid:

Canadian Dragon

Erik Strong

Harlem Haynes

Julian Watson

Robbie McNamara

Opener:

Flash

Hugh Ancrie

Mark Griffin

Enhancement:

Devyn Reynaud

Womens Division:

Cherry Bomb

Kristabel Plum

Lauren Easter

Melody

Sally Anne Christianson

Tamara McFly

They have two TV shows neither of which airs in the USA but they have PPV coverage in the USA and all of Europe.

God help the wrestling world when they hit Global (which is right around the corner).

CGC who were putting on B- shows with regularity and occasional B rated shows are now hovering around the C/C+ area after NOTBPW raped their roster.

It's weird to have this kind of emotional attachement, but I guess it's the first time I've had a world title in a National+ company change hands.

So, one game year after I started, with the reign starting in August 2009 according the lineage... Rocky Golden finally loses the TCW World Heavyweight Title at Malice in Wonderland 2011. 12 defences and one deliberate DQ - including an A* match

Thanks Rocko, you carried that belt a hell of a lot better than I thought you'd manage and developed quite a way doing it.

Oh, and our new champion? Everyone's favourite police officer... Rick Law. He's shot of the policeman gimmick, so people can actually take him seriously and he's an outright better wrestler than Rocky. ....And I already have the entire reign planned out. Here's hoping it all goes to script.

And yup, I pretty much HAVE reversed all those heel and face turns, hahaha.

I'm almost three years into Queens of American Wrestling. J-Ro has been my MVP by far, and I've only lost one big name: Zoe Ammis (Agent 69) who got signed by NOTPW since she's Canadian and has decent overness there.

Tracy Brendon is about to take the belt off of 3-time champ, Joanne Rodriguez.

Just on the NOTBPW... the problem of them being too good would be solved if the AI was just slightly smarter and signed workers that fit their product. TCW would take some of their ME's, namely Bloodstone, and it would balance out realistically.

My no.1 reason for disliking them is the not-so-catchy six letter abbreviation. "Hey, I just got tickets for the notbeepeedub show... alright!" Not only that, but why would a largish canadian organisation of any sort acknowledge the US as the centre of the world. Same goes for SOTBPW, although I convinced myself in spanish it spells a shortened version of something positive, like 'awesome'.

Multi-man feuds. For example, Elimination Chamber matches. Stick three or four top level guys in a feud with two or three guys you want to rise up, and then mix them together in matches/angles. Even if they lose every match they have in the feud, the young guys will benefit from the program.

Or, stables. Throw a main eventer, a veteran, an over-ish tag team and a rookie together and let the chain pull them all up as they interact.

Or sacrifice some older guys that are on the "Time Decline" list. You can do it over an extended feud so they don't really lose that much, and don't get angry, but pull the youngster up to their level. Someone being in an extended program with, say, The Undertaker will get them over. Use Open Match or Keep Strong, and they never even need to win (though you should be able to get them over enough to win the feud payoff to really cement them).
