Stevie takes out the Soldiers with dropkicks and Tornado DDTs, until he walks into a Spinebuster. It gave Zeus time to recover though, and he Spinebusters both his opponents and locks in the Olympian Clutch (Camel Clutch) on Destiny. He taps!

Shooter repeatedly pounces for the taped up left arm, but Alex is quick to shield it. fending him off with pinpoint counterpunches, targeting pressure points for maximum damage. DeColt goes for the DeColt Driver (Straightjacket Drop) but can’t keep the grip, falling victim to a German Suplex. Deeley beats him down, but can’t get to his prize; the taped-up left arm. Outside, Nate Johnson sarcastically cheers on his stablemate, much to Deeley’s annoyance.

Suddenly, DeColt fights back with precision punches, sending Sean reeling, until- Seated Arm Stretch! He’s got the left arm! Shooter struggles to get full extension, having more difficulty than he’d expect with the injured limb. On the outside, Johnson’s eyes widen in realization, and he starts to laugh. Annoyed, Deeley releases the hold to glare at his stablemate.

Posted this up a few days early. Super into the project right now. I’m deep into writing (‘Chaos In The Cage’ is 14 episodes away, and I just wrote the main event) so I just want to get on with posting and playing the game. Thursday should see another new episode.

This week’s main event was a lot better. Perhaps solely due to better guys in better circumstances, but I also tweaked the match times in my product settings, and improved the backstage atmosphere by sending some bad apples on vacation and hiring some good apples. Not that a couple of eager rookies can take all the credit. Alex DeColt is really, really good. I mean, ideally my world champion would never wrestle on TV, but you can’t argue with results. I can see why John Cena headlines RAW so often.

Considering booking my own ‘house shows’. I know the game does these independently now, but it’ll give me something to do between posting. I can try matches, opponents, managers, experiment with times, develop weaker workers, get lower-end guys talking in front of a crowd... all the things real house shows do. Small Events in small arenas, where nothing ‘important’ happens. I dunno. I’m all for doing secret things and just showing the televised product, but it may be a step too far. Are readers interested in the trials and tribulations of the characters? Or the development of the promotion? If it's the latter, who secret shows provide too much of a disconnect? I think I did some of these with FCK, but I don’t recall any particulars, and the draft database meant that game was essentially broken on a stats-level.

In the end it always comes down to what you are most comfortable with since it is your diary, but I think overall it might be best to keep it as is. Just how it has been treated we are more like a casual audience tuning in to see the antics that occur each week. We enjoy the over the top personalities and don't worry about running to that internet thingy to check all the dirt sheets to see what is going on behind the scenes.

It all depends on if you want to give the audience a behind the scenes peek and see what else is going on and how to present it. Much like how you like to keep the pre show a mystery I think it might be best to keep the house shows one as well. Either way you go it will be an enjoyable ride so do what you think would be most fun for you.

Alex is an older brother, he's too protective. Jack's a sentimental man when it comes to people he loves. Ricky DeColt is the youngest - he's got something to prove. I think he'd take it.

And as for running and writing smaller shows - maybe a highlights package? The most interesting angles, the matches that you like the most? I'd read that, your style's very easy reading.

Nate wobbles... wobbles... wobbles... he reaches for Sean to grab his hands and help him, but Shooter pretends to be distracted by a loose thread on his plain tracksuit. Nate goes down. 1... 2... Nate bails to yell at Sean. Stevie goes for a suicide dive, but Nate dodges and Deeley takes the brunt of it! Laughing, Nate rolls Grayson in the ring, and hits Natural Order (Leg Lariat) for the pin.

Ricky keeps DaLay at a distance with high-risk, high-intensity offense. Forgoing mat wrestling, Jack pummels Chandler with right hands. Ricky tries to coordinate some classic double team moves, but Jack’s timing is all off, allowing Chandler to nail Ricky with a Backcracker. The Elite use old school tag team tactics to isolate Ricky in their corner, repeatedly taunting Jack, who inadvertently distracts the referee whenever his temper gets the best of him. Ricky fights out of a bear hug and makes the tag!

Jack DeColt goes berserk, firing off right hands with reckless abandon. Shoulder Tackles! Back body drops! Battering his opponents pillar to post. Chandler takes the Wild Ride (Reverse Death Valley Driver)! DaLay clocks him from behind, but that just makes him angrier, the Wild Man tackles him out of the ring and starts to Punch! Him! In! The! Face!

Meanwhile, Ricky misses a High Fly Elbow on Chandler, and gets caught in Fabulous Stretch (Double Armbar). Jack is too busy pummeling DaLay to notice! Ricky can’t escape! Can’t get to the ropes! Ricky taps!

For some reason, I forget how much more popular the DeColts are to their nearest heels. This main event result wasn’t the most popular decision. Should have seen that coming. The price of storytelling, I guess.

Luckily, television only has the fraction of the effect on popularity that is used to. No major damage to the DeColts, but no big boost to the Elite either. Sadly, the same holds true lower down the card, and it’s harder to get fresh characters over. Ratings-wise, Missy Masterson is not doing the business. Her segments aren’t awful, working with the DeColts, but she’s not getting over as much as I hoped. I hope this doesn’t impact my desire to create new stars in CGC, and instead go with ‘easier’ cast-offs from bigger companies.

Dixie Carter, I get it now. I’m sorry.

Mulling over the house show idea. I like the idea of highlight packages, although I’d then feel pressured to make them ‘matter’. Which could be a good thing. I could incorporate them into stories. It would change the format of things, perhaps in an interesting way. It’ll be a post-WrestleFestival thing. Maybe post-Chaos In The Cage, as I’m well into writing that.

Feeling your pain as far as trying to get pop up on certain people. Ricky for me is about the only DeColt that often doesn't use his creative control to block me from letting someone win against him and most of my new guys are pretty much no names in Canada so no one really wants to lose to them. Thankfully a few gained pop quickly. Oleg got a really nice boost from Luck of the Draw as did Frankie Perez. I guess the upside is I only have 2 people on my time decline list so I have plenty of time to keep people around and use them to eventually get other people over.

Possibly the issue is that Missy Masterson doesn't have any or enough initial popularity to really stand with the DeColts, and thus is getting overshadowed too much to benefit.

While the story is already done now, someone like Blonde Bombshell might have worked better in the role.

I think I've figured out how I'm doing house shows. Pretty excited about it. I'll be out until Tuesday, so nothing until then at the earliest.</div></blockquote> I think tew '13 really nerfed the gains in popularity for someone riding a more popular person's coattails, especially if there is a big difference, ( like a B pop and an E pop) meaning, that the E pop person is not gonna get all that much rub, unlike in the earlier versions. So long term, you are probably better off having her work with Christian and Bobby Price, till she gets up to their levels of pop, and then throw her back with Ricky ( or someone else of equal pop) assuming her star quality isn't low.

Nelson is eager to quicken the pace, but Trent is fast. Scary fast, spiking him with a leaping DDT. Trent ruthlessly presses the advantage, targeting the chest and ribcage with stomps and elbows. Gasping for breath, Nelson attacks with a flurry of dropkicks and monkey flips, but Trent practically caves in his chest with a dropkick of his own, follows up with a gutbuster, and finishes him off with Heart Burn (Double Foot Stomp).

For Nate Johnson, things tend to come easy. An honour roll student despite never studying. A celebrated college athlete despite constantly skipping training. Nate is quite simply a natural winner. First entering the wrestling world in 1994, Nate went on a unprecedented 3 year winning streak around the independent circuit.

That streak came to an abrupt end when he made it to Canadian Golden Combat. Suddenly facing tougher competition, Nate was unable to rely on his natural ability alone, and regularly found himself staring at the lights. It wasn’t until he joined up with fellow Ontarian Bobby Thomas that his luck changed. While Nate proudly states that he’s never done a hard day’s work in his life, Bobby had dedication and work ethic drilled into him at the House of Stone. They were a winning combination, and as “The Specialists” went on to win the CGC Tag Team Championships 5 times before splitting amicably in 2009.

Spurred on by Chandler, Johnson rushes to attack. Alex intelligently fights him off with pinpoint counter-punches, targeting pressure points to deliver maximum damage. A distraction by Chandler allows Johnson to hit Natural Order (Leg Lariat) and take control. Nate unleashes impressive suplexes and painful holds, trying to show off for the cameras, smiling an insincere smile. Every time Alex tries to fight back, Chandlers get involved, tripping DeColt or distracting the referee to allow Johnson to cheat. Alex eventually shoves Nate into Chandler, allowing him to fight back unimpeded. Throat Thrust. Powerslam. Back body drop. Tower Collapse Superplex.

Eddie Chandler grabs a chair and climbs onto the apron, but... Little Billy takes the chair from him! Furious, Chandler advances on Billy, until Alex steps between them. Tensions mount, until Low Blow! Little Billy uppercuts Alex in the testicles.

This show was mildly different to book, as it’s in Quebec, a predominantly French speaking area. So the English-Only DeColts took a back seat to guys who could handle the language. Eddie Chandler, Nate Johnson and Trent Shaffer. It also marks one of the rare instances where Adrian Garcia isn’t all up in the Elite business. I think in the future I’ll have a Quebec show in every cycle going into a PPV. For the challenge of it.

The main event didn’t really surprise me. Alex is great. Nate is very good. The opener was shockingly good though. I somewhat discounted Trent (and to a lesser extent, Jack) after that disappointing Luck of the Draw match, but I guess there’s a reason people like to push him.
