Sunday February Week 4

Smallwood Field, The Maritimes

2,000 in attendance

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/DavisDitterich_S_zps0e7a5dbf.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SCatQuine_zps99b7de68.jpg

Davis Ditterich “Last week Elite members Dan DaLay and Eddie Chandler proved that they, at least, are on the same page, working together to make Chandler the No.1 contender for Alex DeColt’s World Title.”

Catherine Quine “Tonight, that spirit of teamwork looks to continue, as Elite member Sean Deeley seeks to soften up The Thinking Man’s DeColt.”

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Banner_zpsac259299.jpg

IN-RING

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/AdrianGarcia_S_zps76f8387e.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/EddieChandler_S_zpsfd65527c.jpg

ADRIAN GARCIA and EDDIE CHANDLER are in the ring, the latter posing and preening in a ludicrously luxurious pink fur coat.

ADRIAN GARCIA

Ladies and Gentlemen, I, ‘The Agent to the Stars’ Adrian Garcia, have

brought you a treat. The number one contender for the CGC World

Title is about to speak. But before he does, he has made the following

demands of you, the audience. Demand 1; Eddie Chandler requires

complete silence while he is talking. Demand 2; do not look Eddie

Chandler in the eyes. Demand 3...

WHO RULE?

DECOLTS RULE!

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/AlexDeColt_S_zps33bed42d.jpg

Battered, bruised, and with a taped up right arm, ALEX DECOLT makes his way to the ring, the CGC World Title around his waist. He takes time to study his challenger, who blows him a kiss.

ALEX DECOLT

A lot of people might look at you, and doubt that you’re worthy of a shot

at my title. They might look at the pink trunks, the fur coat, the effeminate

way you walk around backstage, and be fooled into thinking you’re not

one of the most dangerous men on the planet. Even the way you won

last week... people might think you’re weak, and that’s just what

you want, isn’t it?

You’re a puzzle, Chandler, but I’ve solved you before, and no matter

what new tricks you have up your sleeve, I’ll solve you again. There’s

nothing you can bring to the DeColt WrestleFestival that I won’t see

right through.

EDDIE CHANDLER

Nothing, Alex? Are you sure? Last week, I fooled everybody into thinking

that ze Elite were on ze rocks. Zat ze eternal friendship between Dan

DaLay and I was over... Ze fans fell for eet, and you fell for eet to, Alex.

I know you fell for eet. You pride yourself on being so smart, but I ‘ave

always been your most dangerous opponent. A man you can’t outsmart

like all ze rest. Je suis plus intelligent que vous. I can get in your head.

Permettez-moi l'int’rieur de vous...

Chandler strokes his face, quickly dodging away as Alex takes a swipe at him.

EDDIE CHANDLER

Ooh, Aleeex. Does that bother you? Do you not like eet when I touch

you? Oh mon petit chou, just think of how much I’m going to touch

you at ze DeColt WrestleFestival. My hands exploring your body,

looking for the right point to twist and grip...

Chandler grabs a handful of Alex’s junk. DeColt shoves him. Chandler goes down suspiciously easily, squealing and crying in an overdramatic fashion.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SeanDeeleyS_zpsb4e76d0e.jpg

Alex doesn’t notice SEAN DEELEY stalking him from behind... until the last second. Not falling for the distraction, he whirls around and stares Shooter in the eyes. Deeley backs off, but not before he gets a good look at the taped up right arm.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Banner_zpsac259299.jpg

THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS A QUARTER FINAL MATCH IN A TOURNAMENT

TO DECIDE THE NEXT CHALLENGER FOR THE CGC CANADIAN TITLE

BOBBY THOMAS VS CHRISTIAN PRICE

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/BobbyThomas_zpsf9452892.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/VS2_zpsf88031f9.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/ChristianPrice_zps345eba1c.jpg

Davis Ditterich “Last week, Thrill Seeker advanced in the tournament to find a challenger for Gargantuan’s Canadian title. Who will he fight in the semi-finals?”

Catherine Quine “Price has been down in the dumps since losing the title at ‘Luck of the Draw’. Can he suck it up tonight?”

Price is unsure and nervous from the outset, getting outwrestled and falling victim to a High Knee strike. Thomas works him over in a methodical and business-like fashion, using his knees to their full advantage. Price is in trouble...

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/MissyMastersonS_zps48546642.jpg

MISSY MASTERSON comes down to ringside and starts cheerleading for Price, who fires up and starts laying in with thunderous european uppercuts. Simple. Effective. Unstoppable. Price is on a roll, until Thomas shoves Referee Jonathan Taylor into him. ‘Just Business’ looks to take advantage of the confusion and... Missy low blows Thomas. Oblivious, Price turns and hits the Price Check (TKO). Equally oblivious to Missy’s interference, Taylor counts the pin.

YOUR WINNER... CHRISTIAN PRICE (7:03)

Davis Ditterich “A rather shady way for Christian Price to begin his quest to regain the Canadian Title, but I don’t think he noticed the interference.”

Catherine Quine “Looks like Missy has set her sights on someone new.”

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Banner_zpsac259299.jpg

GOLDEN PROFILE 07

“The Sparkling Vampire”

TRENT SHAFFER

Age… 27 Height… 5’10 Weight… 190lbs

“Forks, Washington” (allegedly)

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/TrentShaffer_zps43aa8a36.jpg

Strengths: Speed, Agility, General Handsomeness.

Specialty Moves: Heart Burn (Double Foot Stomp) Vampiric Embrace (Sleeper)

Since making his pro debut in 2004, Trent has displayed a startlingly eclectic array of personas, going from Young Leo (with a similar haircut to actor Leonardo DeCaprio) to Delicious Danny (one half of The Varsity Boys with Stunning Stuart) to various incarnations of his (supposedly) real name. Despite, or perhaps because of this, he’s never truly been embraced by the fans, and many wonder just who the “real” Trent Shaffer is.

“Don’t believe this camouflage. I’m a killer. I’m the world’s most

dangerous predator.”

Was Trent Shaffer bitten by a vampire 15 months ago and turned into an undead creature of the night? Does Trent now possess insatiable bloodlust, immortality, and skin that sparkles when exposed to sunlight? Granted, he does seem faster, stronger, more skilled and slightly less tanned than ever before, but could this just be the symptoms of a warrior finally coming into his own? And is it a coincidence that this metamorphosis happened just months after the movie Twilight was released? Only Trent truly knows...

“The CGC Title. She belongs with me. I’ve gotten a taste for her now. You can’t

keep us apart forever, Alex.”

Undefeated in 2012, and defeating Jack DeColt at ‘Luck of the Draw’, Trent Shaffer could be in line for a shot at the CGC title.... if he can ever shake off the furious Wild Man, wanting revenge for what Trent did to his wife.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Banner_zpsac259299.jpg

THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS FOR THE CGC WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

(Destiny & Fate) SOLDIERS OF FORTUNE VS STEVIE GRAYSON & ZEUS MAXIMILLION

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/Destiny_zpsdc0daa57.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/Fate_zpsc87d4cbf.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/VS2_zpsf88031f9.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/StevieGrayson_zps673dbffd.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/ZeusMaxmillion_zps1348cbf6.jpg

Davis Ditterich “This is a rematch from ‘Luck of the Draw’. Can the Soldiers of Fortune regain the titles they lost just three weeks ago? Or will the CGC’s odd couple come out victorious again?”

Zeus Maximillion summons Godlike strength to overpower his gigantic opponents early, until Fate thumbs him in the eye. The Soldiers of Fortune use old school tag team tactics to isolate him in their corner, until Zeus powers free and makes the tag. Stevie takes out the Soldiers with dropkicks and Tornado DDTs, until he walks into a Spinebuster. It gave Zeus time to recover though, and he Spinebusters both his opponents and locks in the Olympian Clutch (Camel Clutch) on Destiny. He taps!

YOUR WINNERS AND STILL CGC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS…

ZEUS MAXIMILLION & STEVIE GRAYSON (8:54)

THE ELITE LOCKER ROOM

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/NateJohnson_S_zpsb3248f4f.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SeanDeeleyS_zpsb4e76d0e.jpg

SEAN DEELEY warms up with a quick 300 squats, while NATE JOHNSON, wearing a tracksuit covered with corporate sponsorship logos, takes a sip of an off-brand sports drink, before looking at the camera with big fake smile.

NATE JOHNSON

Ooh. That’s refreshing. You know what’s not refreshing? Our current tag

team champions. But while Beaver Buzz is a sports drink that will never

lose its effervescence, I personally plan to make Zeus & Stevie lose

those titles at The DeColt WrestleFestival. I know it might seem unfair

for me to challenge them, given my tag team experience and... well...

look at me. I’m phenomenal. So I’m gonna give Zeus & Stevie a fighting

chance by choosing Scooter Snore Deeley as my partner.

Still squatting, Sean glares.

NATE JOHNSON

I know you’re worried about tonight, Sean. I know you’re worried about

screwing up in front of all those sponsors and investors. Ooh, I’m so

nervous for you. But don’t worry, Sean. I’ll be more than happy to carry

you to victory at The DeColt WrestleFestival. The investors want results?

I’ll give them results. In the form of two belts around my 100% All

Natural waist.

Laughing, Johnson slaps Deeley unnecessarily hard on the back, breaking his rhythm. Scowling, Deeley starts his warm up over.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Banner_zpsac259299.jpg

Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Nate Johnson. Standing 6’0 tall.

Weighing 250lbs. From Iowa City, Iowa. “Shooter”

SEAN DEELEY

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/NateJohnson_S_zpsb3248f4f.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/ShooterSeanDeeley_zps9be24741.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/VS2_zpsf88031f9.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/AlexDeColt_zpsb86889da.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Bumper_zps6b106515.jpg

... and his opponent, standing at 6’4 inches tall. Weighing in at 270lbs.

Hailing from DeColt Country, Vancouver, British Columbia. He is the current, reigning

CGC World Heavyweight Champion. “The Thinking Man’s DeColt”

ALEX DECOLT

Davis Ditterich “Sean Deeley seeks to impress Adrian Garcia’s “investors” by softening up the CGC Champion.”

Catherine Quine “From the looks of that taped-up left arm, Alex looks softened up enough already.”

Shooter repeatedly pounces for the taped up left arm, but Alex is quick to shield it. fending him off with pinpoint counterpunches, targeting pressure points for maximum damage. DeColt goes for the DeColt Driver (Straightjacket Drop) but can’t keep the grip, falling victim to a German Suplex. Deeley beats him down, but can’t get to his prize; the taped-up left arm. Outside, Nate Johnson sarcastically cheers on his stablemate, much to Deeley’s annoyance.

Suddenly, DeColt fights back with precision punches, sending Sean reeling, until- Seated Arm Stretch! He’s got the left arm! Shooter struggles to get full extension, having more difficulty than he’d expect with the injured limb. On the outside, Johnson’s eyes widen in realization, and he starts to laugh. Annoyed, Deeley releases the hold to glare at his stablemate.

NATE JOHNSON

You’re attacking the wrong arm, moron!

Deeley catches on to his mistake. He’s been attacking the left arm, when it was the right one that was taped up earlier. Alex fires back with overpowering strength. Powerslam. Tower Collapse Superplex. DeColt Driver. 1... 2... 3!

YOUR WINNER... ALEX DECOLT (15:30)

Davis Ditterich “Alex DeColt outsmarts the Shooter, getting the win and protecting himself from further damage ahead of his title defense against Eddie Chandler at the DeColt WrestleFestival.”

Catherine Quine “I can’t imagine the Elite ‘investors’ will be happy with this.”

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Banner_zpsac259299.jpg

Posted this up a few days early. Super into the project right now. I’m deep into writing (‘Chaos In The Cage’ is 14 episodes away, and I just wrote the main event) so I just want to get on with posting and playing the game. Thursday should see another new episode.

This week’s main event was a lot better. Perhaps solely due to better guys in better circumstances, but I also tweaked the match times in my product settings, and improved the backstage atmosphere by sending some bad apples on vacation and hiring some good apples. Not that a couple of eager rookies can take all the credit. Alex DeColt is really, really good. I mean, ideally my world champion would never wrestle on TV, but you can’t argue with results. I can see why John Cena headlines RAW so often.

Considering booking my own ‘house shows’. I know the game does these independently now, but it’ll give me something to do between posting. I can try matches, opponents, managers, experiment with times, develop weaker workers, get lower-end guys talking in front of a crowd... all the things real house shows do. Small Events in small arenas, where nothing ‘important’ happens. I dunno. I’m all for doing secret things and just showing the televised product, but it may be a step too far. Are readers interested in the trials and tribulations of the characters? Or the development of the promotion? If it's the latter, who secret shows provide too much of a disconnect? I think I did some of these with FCK, but I don’t recall any particulars, and the draft database meant that game was essentially broken on a stats-level.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Banner_zpsac259299.jpg

Next episode of TV will be up Thursday. No predictions, but another question.

Last week, Alex DeColt claimed that if he had to fight his brother Ricky in the ring, he wasn’t sure what would happen. If the DeColts DID have to do battle, which of the 3 do you think would come out on top?

Alex DeColt, Jack DeColt or Ricky DeColt?

In the end it always comes down to what you are most comfortable with since it is your diary, but I think overall it might be best to keep it as is. Just how it has been treated we are more like a casual audience tuning in to see the antics that occur each week. We enjoy the over the top personalities and don't worry about running to that internet thingy to check all the dirt sheets to see what is going on behind the scenes.

It all depends on if you want to give the audience a behind the scenes peek and see what else is going on and how to present it. Much like how you like to keep the pre show a mystery I think it might be best to keep the house shows one as well. Either way you go it will be an enjoyable ride so do what you think would be most fun for you.

Alex DeColt, Jack DeColt or Ricky DeColt?

Jack's power and Alex's technical ability neutralize each other but Ricky's agility allow him to win. But Steve DeColt kills all of them in a 1 vs 3 handicap.

Alex DeColt, Jack DeColt or Ricky DeColt?

Alex DeColt, Jack DeColt or Ricky DeColt?

Jack because I think the killer instinct is stronger in him. He's the most likely to do what it takes, I think. Not that he wouldn't be reluctant to take out one of his brothers, I just think less reluctant than the other two.

Alex is an older brother, he's too protective. Jack's a sentimental man when it comes to people he loves. Ricky DeColt is the youngest - he's got something to prove. I think he'd take it.

And as for running and writing smaller shows - maybe a highlights package? The most interesting angles, the matches that you like the most? I'd read that, your style's very easy reading.

Davis Ditterich “These men met in the opening round of the Canadian Contender’s tournament, and it looks like there are still scores to be settled.”

Catherine Quine “Price and Seeker are partners tonight, but pretty soon they’ll be squaring off in the semi finals.”

Thrill Seeker bounces off the ropes at impossible angles, three steps ahead of the flummoxed Thomas and panicking Powell, unleashing innovative kicks and aerial offense. A nervous Price tags in, but falls victim to a High Knee strike. Thomas works him over in a methodical and business-like fashion, using his knees to their full advantage, while Powell bends the rules as much he can.

MISSY MASTERSON comes down to ringside and starts cheerleading for Price, who fires up and starts laying in with thunderous european uppercuts. Simple. Effective. Unstoppable. Ryan Powell stalks him, but Missy clips his ankle and he stumbles into the Price Check (TKO) 1... 2... 3!

YOUR WINNERS... THRILL SEEKER & CHRISTIAN PRICE (7:46)

Messing with Christian? Whatever could you mean?

RICKY DECOLT

You know exactly what I mean. Pretending to be into him. I know you're

Hmm. Sounds to me like somebody's jealous.

RICKY DECOLT

I'm just looking out for the guy. That’s all. Christian Price is the last person

MISSY MASTERSON

Catherine Quine “Interesting choice of partner. He and Deeley hardly seem on the best terms.”

Johnson takes control using his superior mat skills and good old fashioned cheating, smugly berating Deeley as he does so. Quickening the pace, Stevie peppers him with hit & run tactics, and goes for a sunset flip. Nate wobbles... wobbles... wobbles... he reaches for Sean to grab his hands and help him, but Shooter pretends to be distracted by a loose thread on his plain tracksuit. Nate goes down. 1... 2... Kick out!

Nate bails to yell at Sean. Stevie goes for a suicide dive, but Nate dodges and Deeley takes the brunt of it! Laughing, Nate rolls Grayson in the ring, and hits Natural Order (Leg Lariat) for the pin.

Davis Ditterich “Can Jack and Ricky put their recent differences aside? They’ll need to be at their best tonight.”

Ricky keeps DaLay at a distance with high-risk, high-intensity offense. Forgoing mat wrestling, Jack pummels Chandler with right hands. Ricky tries to coordinate some classic double team moves, but Jack’s timing is all off, allowing Chandler to nail Ricky with a Backcracker. The Elite use old school tag team tactics to isolate Ricky in their corner, repeatedly taunting Jack, who inadvertently distracts the referee whenever his temper gets the best of him. Ricky fights out of a bear hug and makes the tag!

Jack DeColt goes berserk, firing off right hands with reckless abandon. Shoulder Tackles! Back body drops! Battering his opponents pillar to post. Chandler takes the Wild Ride (Reverse Death Valley Driver)! DaLay clocks him from behind, but that just makes him angrier, the Wild Man tackles him out of the ring and starts to Punch! Him! In! The! Face!

Meanwhile, Ricky misses a High Fly Elbow on Chandler, and gets caught in Fabulous Stretch (Double Armbar). Jack is too busy pummeling DaLay to notice! Ricky can’t escape! Can’t get to the ropes! Ricky taps!

Jack doesn’t even hear the bell. Single-mindedly pummeling DaLay until security force him away. The bloodied but smirking Giant Amongst Giants joins his partner in the ring to celebrate.

Davis Ditterich “The Elite pick up the win, but you can only assume that if Jack was paying attention he’d be able to save his brother.”

For some reason, I forget how much more popular the DeColts are to their nearest heels. This main event result wasn’t the most popular decision. Should have seen that coming. The price of storytelling, I guess.

Luckily, television only has the fraction of the effect on popularity that is used to. No major damage to the DeColts, but no big boost to the Elite either. Sadly, the same holds true lower down the card, and it’s harder to get fresh characters over. Ratings-wise, Missy Masterson is not doing the business. Her segments aren’t awful, working with the DeColts, but she’s not getting over as much as I hoped. I hope this doesn’t impact my desire to create new stars in CGC, and instead go with ‘easier’ cast-offs from bigger companies.

Dixie Carter, I get it now. I’m sorry.

Mulling over the house show idea. I like the idea of highlight packages, although I’d then feel pressured to make them ‘matter’. Which could be a good thing. I could incorporate them into stories. It would change the format of things, perhaps in an interesting way. It’ll be a post-WrestleFestival thing. Maybe post-Chaos In The Cage, as I’m well into writing that.

Feeling your pain as far as trying to get pop up on certain people. Ricky for me is about the only DeColt that often doesn't use his creative control to block me from letting someone win against him and most of my new guys are pretty much no names in Canada so no one really wants to lose to them. Thankfully a few gained pop quickly. Oleg got a really nice boost from Luck of the Draw as did Frankie Perez. I guess the upside is I only have 2 people on my time decline list so I have plenty of time to keep people around and use them to eventually get other people over.

Possibly the issue is that Missy Masterson doesn't have any or enough initial popularity to really stand with the DeColts, and thus is getting overshadowed too much to benefit.

While the story is already done now, someone like Blonde Bombshell might have worked better in the role.

So long term, you are probably better off having her work with Christian and Bobby Price, till she gets up to their levels of pop, and then throw her back with Ricky ( or someone else of equal pop) assuming her star quality isn't low.

EDDIE CHANDLER (wearing a ludicrously luxurious pink fur coat) and NATE JOHNSON (in a tracksuit covered head to toe with sponsorship logos) look at Little Billy with disgust.

EDDIE CHANDLER

Eww. What ees zis ‘thing’ doing here?

NATE JOHNSON

You’d better not be contagious, you little brat.

EDDIE CHANDLER

It has no hair. I think I’m going to be sick.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/AlexDeColt_S_zps33bed42d.jpg

A stern ALEX DECOLT steps between Little Billy and the Elite members.

ALEX DECOLT

Do yourself a favour. Leave now. Before things get ugly.

EDDIE CHANDLER

Oh no, Aleeex. I’m not leaving. In fact, you’re going to be seeing plenty of

me tonight. Nathan has invited me to accompany him to ze ring, so I can

get a real close look at ze man whose title I’ll be taking at ze WrestleFestival.

ALEX DECOLT

Is that so? Well, if ‘Nathan’ is getting someone in his corner, I think it’s

only fair that I do too. What do you say, Billy? Want to be in my corner?

Utterly speechless, Little Billy nods.

NATE JOHNSON

The cripple? Are you serious?

Johnson and Chandler leave laughing.

Davis Ditterich “Jack DeColt is on a week’s suspension for threatening a member of our backstage crew, and surprise, surprise, Trent Shaffer has requested a match for tonight.”

Nelson is eager to quicken the pace, but Trent is fast. Scary fast, spiking him with a leaping DDT. Trent ruthlessly presses the advantage, targeting the chest and ribcage with stomps and elbows. Gasping for breath, Nelson attacks with a flurry of dropkicks and monkey flips, but Trent practically caves in his chest with a dropkick of his own, follows up with a gutbuster, and finishes him off with Heart Burn (Double Foot Stomp).

YOUR WINNER… TRENT SHAFFER (8:19)

Oh joy, Trent Shaffer has a microphone.

TRENT SHAFFER

Even monsters need the light. Shards of joy to cut through the sorrow.

Morsels of love to sustain them in a lifetime of hate. We hate each other,

Jack, but it’s a hate built on love. I hurt your love... and you hurt mine.

The CGC World Title belongs with me, Jack. Her love for me pierces

the inky blank of my tortured soul. We could have been together at the

WrestleFestival, but three weeks ago you cost me my chance. That was

a mistake, Jack, because if I can’t have my love, I’m more than happy

to play with yours.

Or we can end this. DeColt WrestleFestival. Wild Man. Sparkling Vampire.

I’ll beat you one last time before reuniting with my true love. There’s just

a few things we need to iron out first. So I’m going to draw up a contract,

and next week, if you have the guts to face me man to man... Maybe

you’ll come sign it.

Trent notices Jenny Playmate checking on Nelson, who struggles to breathe after the assault on his chest.

TRENT SHAFFER

… but while I’ve got your attention. What does this remind you of?

Trent Shaffer slaps Jenny Playmate. Hard. She goes down.

TRENT SHAFFER

“Oops”.

Davis Ditterich “It’s been a while since Ricky DeColt has shown interest in the Canadian Title. Is the challenge of facing the Gargantuan too tempting to ignore? Or does he just want to step out of his brother’s shadows?”

Catherine Quine “Or is he jealous of a certain Christian Price and his new lady friend?”

Ricky shows off with some power moves early, unleashing uncharacteristic European Uppercuts for some reason. He goes for a Running Bulldog, but Ozzie shoves him shoulder-first into the turnbuckle. Golden attacks the arm with grace and malice of forethought, but misses the Golden Shower (450) and falls victim to Ricky’s high-intensity, high-risk offense. Running Bulldog! High Fly Elbow! DeColt 45 (Roll Inverted DDT) Referee Dace Lavoie counts the pin.

YOUR WINNER... RICKY DECOLT (7:40)

NATE JOHNSON

Age… 36 Height… 6’1 Weight… 255lbs

Title History: 1x CGC World Champion (Jul-Nov 2010).

1x CGC Canadian Champion.

5x CGC Tag Team Champion (with Bobby Thomas)

Strengths: Natural Talent, Genetics, The Backing of a Multitude of Corporate Sponsors

Specialty Moves: Natural Order (Leg Lariat) Double Underhook Powerbomb

Combat Connections: Adrian Garcia (Agent) Eddie Chandler, Dan DaLay, Sean Deeley (Stablemates) Bobby Thomas (Former Partner)

For Nate Johnson, things tend to come easy. An honour roll student despite never studying. A celebrated college athlete despite constantly skipping training. Nate is quite simply a natural winner. First entering the wrestling world in 1994, Nate went on a unprecedented 3 year winning streak around the independent circuit.

“I hate to boast, but I’m pretty much amazing at everything I’ve ever done.”

That streak came to an abrupt end when he made it to Canadian Golden Combat. Suddenly facing tougher competition, Nate was unable to rely on his natural ability alone, and regularly found himself staring at the lights. It wasn’t until he joined up with fellow Ontarian Bobby Thomas that his luck changed. While Nate proudly states that he’s never done a hard day’s work in his life, Bobby had dedication and work ethic drilled into him at the House of Stone. They were a winning combination, and as “The Specialists” went on to win the CGC Tag Team Championships 5 times before splitting amicably in 2009.

“Bobby was a great tag partner, but I knew a guy like me shouldn’t be

sharing the limelight. That’s why I signed with Adrian Garcia. He

knew a star when he saw one”

Enjoying the plush perks of being part of Garcia’s Elite group of warriors, and backed by an ever-increasing roster of corporate sponsors, Nate’s career has soared to new heights, topped off by a CGC World Title reign in 2010. Now boasting an unsettlingly ripped physique, and with skin several shades darker than one would consider “tanned”, some question whether his talents are as natural as they were back in 1994.

“No additives. No preservations. 100% All Natural. Anyone who says

otherwise is just jealous.”

Davis Ditterich “Once in a lifetime experience for a special little guy, accompanying his hero to the ring.”

Catherine Quine “A nice gesture, but I doubt he’ll be very effective in neutralizing the number one contender’s presence in Johnson’s corner.”

Spurred on by Chandler, Johnson rushes to attack. Alex intelligently fights him off with pinpoint counter-punches, targeting pressure points to deliver maximum damage. A distraction by Chandler allows Johnson to hit Natural Order (Leg Lariat) and take control. Nate unleashes impressive suplexes and painful holds, trying to show off for the cameras, smiling an insincere smile. Every time Alex tries to fight back, Chandlers get involved, tripping DeColt or distracting the referee to allow Johnson to cheat. Alex eventually shoves Nate into Chandler, allowing him to fight back unimpeded. Throat Thrust. Powerslam. Back body drop. Tower Collapse Superplex.

Eddie Chandler grabs a chair and climbs onto the apron, but... Little Billy takes the chair from him! Furious, Chandler advances on Billy, until Alex steps between them. Tensions mount, until Low Blow! Little Billy uppercuts Alex in the testicles.

YOUR WINNER... VIA DISQUALIFICATION... ALEX DECOLT (14:14)

Eddie Chandler laughs and high-fives Billy, who suddenly looks a lot less sickly and a lot more spry.

EDDIE CHANDLER

I outsmarted you, Aleeeex. Let that sink in for a moment. Ze physical pain

you. You, ze Thinking Man’s DeColt. You, who pride yourself on your

Zis is just ze tip of ze iceberg. At ze DeColt WrestleFestival, I have something

entirely different in store for you. It will be no minor betrayal. No simple low

This show was mildly different to book, as it’s in Quebec, a predominantly French speaking area. So the English-Only DeColts took a back seat to guys who could handle the language. Eddie Chandler, Nate Johnson and Trent Shaffer. It also marks one of the rare instances where Adrian Garcia isn’t all up in the Elite business. I think in the future I’ll have a Quebec show in every cycle going into a PPV. For the challenge of it.

The main event didn’t really surprise me. Alex is great. Nate is very good. The opener was shockingly good though. I somewhat discounted Trent (and to a lesser extent, Jack) after that disappointing Luck of the Draw match, but I guess there’s a reason people like to push him.
