~ The Golden Age: 1987 Official Release ~

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to share a cut a made of Lanny Poffo. I'm playing as WWF and sent him to development, but he wants to return now, and initially I had nothing for him so I left him there.

Then I thought, what if he comes in as Randy Savage's brother? They finally admit on screen they are brothers, and Randy (who is a Heel) is currently feuding with Ricky Steamboat. So what if Lanny comes in to align himself with Randy, helping him in his feud with Steamboat?

My problem was finding a picture that fitted Lanny coming in as 'Lanny Savage', having the same gimmick as his brother, etc. In the end I settled on making my own, and come up with this:

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/RayW1986/Requests/LannyPoffoSavage.jpg

I thought it was cool. Eventually I'm going to have Steamboat beat Randy for the IC title, and let Randy move on to the World title scene, while Lanny will continue to feud with Steamboat over the title (although I doubt he'll win it).

That's awesome and you've hit closer to reality than you may know....

In a later shoot interview, Poffo clarified the details of his WCW tenure. He explained that he was contacted by his brother (Randy Savage) with the guarantee of a WCW contract. Savage, who had recently purchased the Gorgeous George gimmick, offered the character to Poffo, feeling that his brother would generate some great heat with the character. Poffo signed the contract and then began a strict training regimen (as well as bleaching his hair blonde) in preparation for his return to the ring.

There seems to be a small problem with the Women's title lineage... Not a big thing though, but Velvet MacIntyre's first and only reign is set to be her second, and when I gave her the title a second time, it treated it as her first reign.

Nothing major, I can live with it. Just thought I'd let you know

My RTG game is going great!

Asylum Championship Wrestling

Great Lakes

Scott Putski was my 1st World Champ. Defended it a few times against Nick Kiniski and eventually dropped it to Sid Vicious. Sid went on to lose it to Tommy Jammer when Sid signed exclusively to UWF.

Ultimo Dragon was my 1st Lightweight Champ. He defended it a couple of times against Halloween and my user character before dropping it to Nick Kiniski who then lost it to Owen Hart. Hart is still the champ.

Right now my tag champions are Axl Rotten and Eddie Watts who have excellent chemistry. Just signed Rocco Rock to go along with Johnny Grunge and form Public Enemy. They will contend for the titles.

Alumni: Halloween, Ultimo Dragon, Sid Vicious, Doug Gilbert, Todd Champion, and Jerry Sags.

I think I am only in September. Just signed Ballz Mahoney and plan on getting him a tag team partner to feud his team with Axl Rotten and Eddie Watts.

Loving this game so far and I really look forward to seeing it grow. I'd like to get big enough to get guys like Sting, Sid Vicious (again), Shane Douglas, Steve Austin, and others before they are the top guys.

Hey, Genadi! You seem to be on a bit of a (well-deserved) break from the forum at the moment, but I assume you will eventually come back and check this thread.

I downloaded this mod earlier today and, as I have yet to buy the game, have just been going through the editor and salivating at the selection of future workers. In my search, there is one name missing that I feel merits mention: Jimmy Jacobs. I know he doesn't debut until over a decade after this mod starts, and thus his absence will not be a factor for the VAST majority of players. But seeing as you've included workers who both debut years after him and have arguably had less of an impact on the business, I figured it was worth mentioning.

I've spotted some birthyears mistakes...

I'm planning to play as AWA and I checked the bios of most of the wrestlers (pardon me, I'm french, so most of them are completely unheard of :o) )

Dick Slater is supposed to be born in 1951 (not 47)

Debbie Combs in 1959 (not 49!) ; she seems to have wrestled for WCW in mid-90's and in my opinion, for seeing her at a YT video from 96 ( match vs Madusa) she looks to be in the late 30's at that time

beside that, considering the product, there was very much count outs or DQs in the results I could gaver for this promotion. They were a traditional, performance biased promotion, but the actual parameters heavily penalizes any DQ or count outs (the crowd expects clean finishes)

any advice please? or is it WAD to simulate the fact that Verne Gagne made his promotion sink?

thanks in advance for your input

Great an amazing mod, extremely fun to play. LOVE IT.

If I could offer one thing of constructive criticism, it would be to organize/clean up the angles. Seems like a lot of them are repeated in different varieties, and seemed really hard to find. Then again maybe I'm just a simpleton and don't think too far outside of the box when it comes to angles lol either way that's the only flaw I see.

I love how much detail has been put in to it, and some of the character profiles are quite a laugh with the humour used.

<p>Yeah I actually scrap the angles when I play this and just import the angles from the default db. There's a lot of redundancy/clutter and also the angles don't have winners/losers for storylines so yeah not entirely desirable. </p><p> </p><p>

I'd also tone back on the accented characters as they can cause crashes on some clients running under certain locales/oses. </p><p> </p><p>

Awesome mod otherwise, though!</p>

<p>This mod is awesome but i ran into a problem and i have no clue if its a mod issue or something i have done.</p><p> </p><p>

I was playing as WWF about 6 months in. Even though i averaged 85 for my A shows and PPVs my backstage dropped down to 9 and my company momentum tanked down to 50.</p><p> </p><p>

I have no clue why it happened. I didn't lose any major stars and there were no incidents to hurt the company and Hulk was even behaving himself. I even pushed Ted Dibiase to the main event level and 2 Von Erichs made Upper Mid Card as did Rude and Hennig, so i have no idea as to why these constantly dropped despite good shows and no major backstage problems. </p><p> </p><p>

Any help will be very apreciated</p>

<p>This game has an issue that I think can be resolved if the big names are given written contracts.</p><p> </p><p>

After a month NJPW stops their tour. A month later they pick it back up which means they sign new deals. I was playing as AWA for the first time so I noticed they picked up huge exclusive PPA guys from WWF & WCW (Bret Hart, Jake Roberts, Rick Martel, and a bunch more).</p><p> </p><p>

Even though they are signed as exclusive PPA, NJPW signs them away somehow... yet as AWA I don't even get the option to.</p><p> </p><p>

So either NJPW is too big to start off or the bigger names in WWF/WCW need to be put on written contracts. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I never got why they were set to Exclusive PPA to begin with. And he's not around to address these issues. >.<

Yeah, I know. I figured I'd put it there for someone else to address the issue.

I changed all the big names in WWF & WCW to written. I think that's an easy quick fix.
