What's the purpose of the thread?

Sharing ideas about entrance themes for wrestlers, whether for diaries or personal immersion in the game.

I love threads like this as I get exposed to music I would have never known about before.

I have a six hour Spotify playlist called 'TEW Themes', mostly collected from these threads.

What's the purpose of the thread?

It's purpose is the purpose of everything to do with this game: to have some fun.

And to maybe share ideas, learn something about our fellow board members. I like hearing why this person chose this song for a certain wrestler while someone else chose a different song.

But in the end...I put it up for fun.

I'll have another batch to add to the list when I get home later today.

Love reading these (and listening to them). I have found that picking out entrance music for workers in a fictional mod (C-verse or T-verse) helps me get a fuller grasp of the character. It allows me to picture things playing out and makes for a much more enjoyable simulation. It can even help pull together a particular characterization that I've been trying to wrap around a given worker.

I'll try to list a few this weekend. Some of them overlap between different games and mods (particularly songs I really like). And a few have become pretty much personal canon for me.

I hate to admit it, but I'm so uncreative when it comes to this. For most guys, all I can think is WWE Themes when I consider what their music would be. Like for example...

Tommy Cornell ---> Mr. McMahon "No Chance in Hell" *It fits with him the Owner of TCW and leader of the Syndicate*

Wolf Hawkins ---> Dolph Ziggler "Here to Show the World"

Sammy Bach ---> RVD "One of a Kind"

Superstar Steve Devine ---> THE Brian Kendrick "Man With a Plan"

Then again, certain songs do come to mind.

Eddie Peak ---> Metallica "Whom The Bell Tolls"

It's the perfect theme for the dark monster I portray Peak to be.

Rocky Golden ---> Diddy "Come With Me"

This song would be perfect for Golden, it fits a monster of a man who never backs down from a fight. Not a Diddy fan, but I accidentally downloaded this when I tried to get the Led Zeppelin "Kashmir" song (the song is a salute to the classic track), and I fell in love with it.

Mine from my current Dynasty:

C-V-2: "Numb/Encore" Linkin Park & JayZ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3METMAHEnvk

Citizen X: "Turncoat" Anti-Flag

Aces of Mayhem: "Indians" Anthrax

Robbie Wright: "Live While We're Young" One Direction (He's a heel who likes to party and annoy the audience)

Bradley Blaze: "Theme from Rawhide"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCRae5mRoRE

Ernest Youngman: "Assassin" Muse

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfRQXIJ3fEM

Tennessee William: "Everyday I Have The Blues" BB King

I'm still looking for themes for: The Dynamite Express (Classy traditionalists), The Lost Cause, George Wolfe ("Chosen One"), Copperhead, Paradox and The Architect, if anyone has any ideas...it's not necessary though.

The Lost Cause: Anthem for the Underdog by 12 Stones

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llk01H-PdDs

The Lost Cause are the ULTIMATE underdogs (well Keith Vegas is Miller is pretty cool).

Paradox: What's My Age Again by Blink 182

Paradox will probably come in as a face? so I young upbeat song sounds good for the high flyer.

The Architect: A Cut Above The Rest Remix by Avery Watts

\

The Architect is an Attention whore and an egomaniac so everything about him brags about being better than you.

I had some ideas about Wolfe but since I don't know how you are going to portray him I want to see and wait.

I love you for including a Tub Ring song. "Night Watch" would be such awesome entrance music.

Nah man. Cherry Bomb would be using, well, "Cherry Bomb" by Joan Jett.

For me, Cherry Bomb has always been this manic, ultra aggressive, borderline insane ball of fire. Someone on the very edge of a very disturbing episode. "Fight" fits that feel for me.

I like Joan Jett, but to me someone like Cherry Bomb needs something that encapsulates her mania. I envision her coming out to the ring, stalking out really. Jawing with the crowd and mad dogging her enemies. Joan Jett just doesn't give me that feel, but I can see where it would work.

For me, Tub Ring is a natural for indy guys usually. They have a diverse set of of music that's perfect for it. For me, I rebranded The New Wave as more of a private security/special forces type in USPW, the enforcers for a corrupted Sam Strong. The first song that stuck in my head with this image was "Night Watch"...something casually arrogant, but that was so simple that fans would love to get into it.

Bit of an inquiry for some:

In my SWF game, I have turned Jack Bruce heel and transformed him into sleazy rock sellout. Think the worst music exec in the industry, and that's the new Jack Bruce. I've been looking for something that screams sellout and corporate stooge all at once, but I can't think of anything that fits.

Anyone have suggestions?

Jack Bruce should have his own cover version of "Rockstar" by Nickleback. And he should mime along to it every time he makes his entrance. It would be awesome. :)

The first time Nickleback and awesome have been used together in a sentence on the internet. Congrats dude, you've made history.
