Now, this comes out and it looks awesome. </p><p> </p><p> Fortunately - for me, anyway - it seems you're still busy fine tuning this mod. So, once I've got bored of my current game, I'll come and download this and - hopefully - all the tuning will be finished.</p><p> </p><p> Sounds like a mammoth job you've done here (see what I did, there?). Keep up the hard work.</p></div></blockquote><p> Hey, the more moderations, the better, right? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"> Yeah, it's going to be a couple of weeks at the very least until I release the next update, so download whenever you feel you're ready because Territory Daze isn't going anywhere.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="lovegun77" data-cite="lovegun77" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="38619" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I am so glad hear that you are working for yet to debut wrestlers!<p> by the way, I am playing WWA as Dick the bruiser.</p><p> But when I look into the company, Dick the bruiser is not 'franchise player' of WWA, and also he is not ranked as maineventer but a upper midcarter. Since he is WWA champion as he always was, I have a little problem in making matches. Should I just change his role to maineventer?</p></div></blockquote><p> It surprises me more that he's not a "Main Eventer" than the fact he isn't a "Franchise Player." I believe "Franchise Players" are chosen on Popularity, Star Quality and Charisma which Dick The Bruiser has good statistics in but obviously choosing five from a whole roster, it's easy to be bypassed. I mean I've seen it many times before with people who you'd consider a "Franchise Player" being looked over, but I don't think it's anything to worry about. As long as you know he's a star and what he's capable of, don't worry about what the game thinks. As for his status on the card? I think pushing him to a Main Eventer would easily solve your problems, yes. As I say, I find that more surprising as he has one of the best percentages of popularity in the Great Lakes area in the game. I'll look into why this is the case and hopefully solve it; it could just be a bad roll of the dice as there are no set pushes at the start of the game.</p>

His wrestling style and gimmick compared to the product and other workers are also taken into consideration.</div></blockquote><p> Yeah, sorry, I forgot to mention that bit. As WWA is rated equally on popularity and performance though, I'd still expect Dick Afflis to be a Main Eventer as he's certainly no slouch. As Jaysin said, it could just be the popularity/skills/gimmick of the other workers that knock Dick down a peg or two. As I say, I'll look into it and see if there's anything I can do that'll reassure him of his Main Event status. If I don't see any statistics that I can move around, I'll put a Main Event push into his contract because after all, he's the boss so he can do whatever he wants. xD</p>

Just to keep everyone up to date, I've finished going through "Basics" and "Psychology," and also fixed some of the other issues and added some things to expand the moderation. I'm just adding some more workers (I have about thirty on my list that I want to rattle out before releasing the next update) and then I'll be re-uploading so expect it to be another week or two. I hope you're all still enjoying it.

I got about a year into the old 1970 mod when I saw that this was up. I'm glad I made the change, the workers are much better now. Only a couple minor complaints/suggestions. I think Bockwinkel needs better performance skills and I think Dino Bravo needs more power and menace.

Nick Bockwinkel has been significantly improved for the next release. I'm reluctant to change Dino Bravo however, as unfortunately/fortunately (depending on your preference) he wasn't on the steroids yet and therefore wasn't as big/strong. He was actually a pretty decent technical wrestler by all accounts until he ruined his body, searching for the perfect physique. I could put a narrative in to make him bigger which I believe (but if someone can correct me, then please do) gives a slight increase to both those statistics but as I've said many times, I don't like "directing the future" as I see history moderations as a way to create an alternate world, not just re-live the past.

Cannot wait to know who is going to be added!

I also hope to see some already-debut wrestlers who I liked, for example Stan frazier(the convict) or Gypsy joe.

It's a mix of already debuted workers and yet to début workers, so there may be some surprises in there. Uncle Elmer (Stan Frazier) may be added at some point (I wasn't planning to add him for this update but I might squeeze him in there) and I tried to add Gypsy Joe before, but there are so many different Gypsy Joe's that I got really confused at one point. xD As far as I know, both the original (Frank Falzarano) and second incarnation (Joe Dorsetti) had both retired before 1970 and therefore won't be added but the one I think you're thinking of (also known as Aztec Joe) may also be added at some point.

He was a decent wrestler before he became an immobile gassed up dude. I have a match from Montreal in '85 I believe and he's against The Masked Superstar and it's a great match. He's not the bloated freak even at this point and just a good (albeit a little dull) technical worker.</p>

<p>I'm looking forward to the new update too. This is such a fun time to run a promotion. Can't wait to see what changes you've made.</p><p> </p><p>

And to the comment "You can always change stats around.". That's true. You can also draw a mustache on the Mona Lisa. Doesn't mean you should. My view of any mod is that it is a work of art, and I don't think I should be fiddling with other people's works of art. I only make exceptions if the modder tries something that just doesn't work with the game (see Genadi's accurate, yet game-killing drug settings). I feel that if you go in and change a bunch of stats that you're crapping on the mod. Just make your own, or the better option is to play one of the other 20 or so mods here instead. That's why I made that long post about what Mammoth was trying to say with his mod. It's his mod and his vision of what that era was. Who am I (or anyone else on here) to go change that vision? That's why everything I was saying was how the game is going to interpret his data and making sure it would sync up with his thinking.</p><p> </p><p>

Sorry, just wanted to get that off my chest.</p>

I enjoy it so I can create my own long promotion history. Instead of being some random booker that gets a job in the WWE I can build my company from scratch. I'm using my grandfather as an avatar, oddly he was the same age I am now in 1970.

That's real nice, man. I was slightly lost with what to do for user characters as I know some people add non-wrestling celebrities from that era or simply add one "mystery" booker and I've never liked either of those options to be honest so just left it to the player to either create their own user character or play as an existing worker. Honestly, I'm pleased that doing a moderation this far back has allowed you to use your grandfather. :)

While I'm here, I'll just give you a quick update: I've done over ten names that were on my list so I have about twenty left to complete before I release the next update. I'm working on the update at the same time as I'm working on a new skin but as you can tell with over ten names in two days, it's fortunately not effecting the progress of Territory Daze. For those of you that are interested, it'll be a WWE 2K15 themed skin. I'm sure some of you remember that I previewed a WWE 2K14 skin after I released the Evanescent skin which never came to fruition because I lost a lot of the images but I'm hoping this time I'll be able to complete it. If you want a sneak peak, here are some images:

Yeah, he passed almost 4 months to the day. He was an amazing guy, would have fit right in with the wrestlers back then, and would have kept a lot of them in line, as he was no slouch with his fists, lost only one fight (split decision) while boxing in the USMC. I was pretty sure he would bury me, but a brain tumor showed up. It was hard watching him go from picking me up in bear hugs (I'm 260lbs) at Christmas, to being non-ambulatory by June.

The game is grinding along, Don Muraco seems a little underwhelming at his debut, but otherwise its okay. My fed is out of Buffalo, so I've brought in Mark Lewin as my local hero, however he's 0-3 in mainevents against Ron Reed, who just allied with a young kid from France named Andre. I have distant plans of Lewin being champ for a while, then losing it to Andre who will go on to have a Sammartinoesque run for most of the decade.

I've teamed Rocky Johnson, Thunderbolt Patterson and Sonny King as a face group called The Dream Team, as a reference to Martin Luther King's speech. Also Don Ross and Billy Graham as The Heavenly Bodies.

That's a nice looking skin Mammoth. Very clean. I love the console vibe to it, too.

Thanks, man. I think you might be my muse as I've been inspired to make a skin on both the occasions that you've hyped/released a skin. xD

Love the new skin, Mammoth. Just remember that since it's in the vein of WWE 2K15, you'll need to take out key skin elements that players have come to expect. :p

xD

Yeah, Don Muraco is a lot like Dino Bravo in a way. Because he had such a change during his career (beefing up on steroids) the guy we all know and love from the 80s and beyond isn't the guy he starts the game as. I have to find the right balance of debuting them as they were in real life but giving them just enough to potentially turn into the guys they were if the player so desires and it's really hard finding that balance sometimes. He débuts pretty early on though so he should have plenty of time to develop. As I said before, I'm a huge fan of Lewin so seeing him as your star (for now at least) really pleases me. xD Your plan with André sounds cool too, as I always thought he should have had a really long run as champion. If there's anyone you can actually believe will hold a title for that long while destroying all challengers, it's got to be André. What's potentially more interesting is who he'll eventually lose the title too. There are some big names debuting in the mid-70s to late-70s so it's going to be cool to see who you give that push too.

I love stories like these from you guys, too. Because of all the racial tension back then, we never got to see guys like Rocky Johnson, Thunderbolt Patterson and Sonny King being pushed all that much, particularly as a super group. That's potentially what I love most about Territory Daze is that you don't have to deal with "real fans" so you can push whoever you want and see what life would have been like without these kind of issues. Real nice touch on the name too, as the Martin Luther King Jr. speech will still be fresh in the memory of 1970 wrestling fans.

Muraco was SUCH a great wrestler in the late 70's-early 80's (especially before he got too roided up). Man, what a promo. He really did change a ton...there's an AWA match out there (I think it's on Dusty's DVD) where Murdoch and Dusty are against Muraco and maybe Billy Robinson and Muraco looks like Tom Selleck. lol

I'm holding off on running a big game until some more updates but I really can't wait to get into it and have Ray Stevens and Pat Patterson take over the world ;)

I've been doing research into the pop culture of the late 60s to try and flesh out some gimmicks and storyline ideas.

Athleticism is a little too low across the board and it hurts worker development since skill caps are heavily derived from physicals(especially athleticism)

Like with many of my statistics, I tend to be more realistic than I perhaps should be because I don't like "upping" people just to make the game play more smoothly. Therefore, people only have athleticism if they were at the time particularly athletic. I can't say I've had any problems with it so I can't say I'm going to go through everyone like I've done for Basics, Selling and Psychology but if there's anyone in particular you're really bemused about, I'd be happy to take a look at 'em.

Weren't there stories about Andre falling asleep momentarily in the ring and things like that because he drank too hard?

Yeah, particularly in tag team matches. There are a couple of instances when his partner has gone to tag him only to find a sleeping giant. xD

Version 1.2

Once again, I just want to thank everyone who has downloaded Territory Daze. I was amazed when it hit 100 but now we're passed 200, I can't quite believe it. To know you guys are out there playing it (and hopefully enjoying it) makes all the hard work over the past year well worth it. Anyway, here are the major changes that you'll find in the new update, not including some of the more minor changes (I'll leave them for you to find) and more than anything, I hope you enjoy:

Basics and Psychology
- Both statistics have been improved somewhat significantly, particularly Basics.

Worker Improvements
- The most notable amongst them are Nick Bockwinkel, The Spoiler, Ray Stevens and Mark Lewin, but I’ve also fiddled with the statistics of
many
others, not always improving them.

Fixed Errors
- I’ve fixed the database error that appeared, lowering the minimum weight limit for the NWA World Championship and also fixed some errors that were brought to my attention, such as CWF’s television deal.

Added Workers
- I’ve added over 40 workers to the database, some of which have already debuted and some of which that haven’t. What’s good about this update however is that there are a lot of people added from different countries, particularly Japan, Mexico and Great Britain as I felt I’d concentrated too heavily on the United States.

Added Storylines
- Having done a bit more research, I have found some further "Starting Storylines" for people to enjoy in one or two other promotions, most notably the AWA.

Great work!

I didnt restarted my game yet, but I can see many new wrestlers whom I wanted to see in your mod in pictures directory. Thank you so much for all the hard work. God I am so regretting now that I didnt mentioned Killer Kahn.

And one more thing, I thought the picture of Skull Murphy is not 'Scary' enough, so I made one myself. Feel free to use it if you want to.

As I said in my opening post, feel free to list as many names as you want and I'll strike people off one by one. I'm sure there's going to be plenty more updates and the more names people bring to me, the more likely they'll be added because I'm bound to miss a name or two making my own lists. That reminds me, I did change the picture of Skull Murphy for my personal game for that very reason but I obviously forgot to change it for the moderation. This is the one I used:

Remember to save it as "Skull Murphy 1" if you want to use it. I've changed it over now so it'll be the default in the next update. Anyway, thank you for the kind words.
