Also, don't worry if you can't find bigger pictures of them because I can expand the images on the website you provided but obviously, if there are better/bigger pictures, then that will be great. I will just provide you information of 2 refrees and 2 announcers each of JWA and IWE. Because I think that is the minimal requirement to run Japanese companies smoothly. And rough and general opinion about their ability, since I dont even know what exactly those stats means. When its done, I will send you private message.</p>

I was nowhere near around for this period of time, but I love looking into the past of wrestling so I like this mod quite a bit. However, there's one wrestler that's conspicuously missing... "Captain" Ed George, Detroit's favorite jobber/son of The Sheik! <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> (in fact, he still books shows under the Big Time Wrestling name in Detroit)

The reason I've neglected adding him thus far is because quite simply, he wasn't all that good. xD He got away with a whole lot more than he should have both in the ring and in the office just because he was The Sheik's son; by all accounts he was a bit of an ass. I guess I have some worse people in the moderation already though so if people want him, I'll add him for the next update. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"></p>

What a project. Thanks for your work on this

You're welcome. Thank you for your kind words and I hope you enjoy it.

Just a quick note on the next update: I've already added a new promotion (you can find out which promotion in the forthcoming "GDS Dynasty Show" with CPBHBK as I give him a little exclusive) and added about 20 workers. By the time I release the next update, that figure will be closer to/over 100 as I have about another 80 names on the list of people I want to add and I haven't even been passed the list of Japanese staff members by lovegun77 yet. I've also revised some of the statistics of people already in the database, particularly those of AWA as they seemed to have the most complaints and after re-watching some old shows, their Upper Midcard and Main Event stars are noticeably better. Also, with the help of the aforementioned lovegun77, I'm hoping the entire Japanese circuit will be a lot more interesting. All in all, I think the next update will be the best yet and as it's officially Version 2.0, I'm hoping there's going to be a lot more for you guys to get your teeth stuck into. :)

Unfortunately, this isn't me announcing the release of Version 2.0 but as it's Christmas, I thought I'd give those of you who enjoy Territory Daze a bit of a Christmas cracker:

http://i.imgur.com/CtkIOYt.png

The things to look out for include a new promotion (you can find out which promotion in my interview with CPBHBK in the fantastic "GDS Dynasty Show" by clicking here, and be sure to leave him a nice comment for his fantastic work), the increase in television networks and the increase in workers. I can't recall how many workers I've added but I know we were previously under 1,000 and I'd hazard a guess that I've added over 40 (please correct me if I'm wrong) and perhaps what is most exciting is that I've still got 50+ names on my list that are yet to be added. The names include already debuted and yet to début workers and are made up of wrestlers, women and staff members. Also, I've included the Japanese staff members that lovegun77 so nicely provided me (a huge debt of gratitude goes to him) and along with it sort out the Japan Pro Wrestling Alliance as he informed me that NET TV and Nippon TV didn't run the same programme. In fact, Giant Baba couldn't contractually appear on NET TV, he could only appear on Nippon TV so to simulate this, I've split them into brands with one brand for the programme on Nippon TV and one for the programme on NET TV. The only people set to a specific brand (so everyone else can appear on both shows) are Giant Baba, Antonio Inoki and Kintaro Oki. Anyway, going back to the staff members lovegun 77 provided, both JWA and IWE have their proper commentators now and more than their fair share of referees which should make the whole country easier to play. With all that said, Version 2.0 should be released a lot earlier than planned (maybe a couple of weeks if I'm lucky) so if there's anything you want changing/adding, now would be the time to speak up.

And I hope everyone's had/having a very Merry Christmas. :)

I just downloaded the version of the first page to give this my first real playthrough, and there's 966 workers in this version. I do have some suggestions for additions though. Some of these may be names already added for the next version. If so, just ignore me. Most of these are names I grew up as fans of, so they're from more modern times. :p

Stu Hart's family, Bret, Owen etc.

Dynamite Kid and Davey Both Smith(The British Bulldogs)

Sting and Ultimate Warrior(Blade Runners)

Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey(Midnight Express)

Dean Malenko and Joe Malenko

Arn Anderson

Lex Luger

Bob Armstrong's sons: Brian(Road Dogg), Steve, Scott, and Brad.

Tiger Mask/Satoru Sayama

Jushin Liger

William Regal

Robbie Brookside

The Great Muta

I won't complain if they don't make the cut, I just figured some of them are fairly big names.

Wow, so I've added over 50 names as the link on the first page is the most recent that I've released; really didn't feel like that many. xD

I've either added or they're already on my list: The Hart Family (everyone except Dean, Ross and Smith as I couldn't find enough information on them, but it does include Jim Neidhart), The Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy Smith, Sting, The Ultimate Warrior, Bobby Eaton, Dennis Condrey, Arn Anderson, Lex Luger, Tiger Mask, William Regal and The Great Muta.

I've now added Dean and Joe Malenko, Bob Armstrong's sons, Jushin Liger and Robbie Brookside to my list, so all will be added before the next release. :)

Thank you for bringing them up and I hope you're enjoying it so far.

Just a quick update: progress has been a little slower than I would have liked as it's the Christmas period, but workers are up to 1,032 so I've done fourteen in five days which I guess isn't that bad. I have 62 people left on my list so even if I stick to this pace (which like I say is a little slow) I should be done by the end of January. :)

This. Is. FANTASTIC.

As a fan of the glory days of hookers and shooters, I've always been a little disappointed in the historical mods, but simply couldn't fathom putting the work into creating one myself. This doesn't quite go back to the hookers and shooters, but anything that gets us further and further back is A+ in my book.

If there's anything at all you need or could use, I'm more than eager to help. Even the tedious stuff (relationships, title histories, whatever), this mod has me legitimately excited about playing for the first time in a long time. Thank you for that.

Thank you, I'm always happy when I can make someone fall back in love with TEW because I do believe it's a game you can easily fall out of love with if there isn't a new moderation after a while; especially when so many moderations are set at around the same time period.

I can't promise you a whole lot of "hookers and shooters" but please do take a look at Britain and Mexico, as they hadn't taken on the American "sports entertainment" quite yet and definitely had some legitimate tough guys. I can't say there's anything I need help with right at this moment as I'm just adding a whole host of workers to expand the moderation, but if there's anyone/anything you'd like added before the re-release, then please do tell me and I'll do my best to add it.

Some others I just thought of: Kamala, Jimmy Golden, Randy Rose, Tracey Smothers, Bill & Scott Irwin, Len Denton (Grappler), Tony "Dirty White Boy" Anthony, Ron and Jimmy Garvin.

I've been on the road so I haven't had a chance to dive in. The mod is looking DO great though. One of the best ever. Congratulations and thanks!

Kamala and Jimmy Golden have either already been added or are already on my list and Randy Rose, Tracy Smothers, Bill Irwin, Scott Irwin, Len Denton and Tony Anthony have all been added to the aforementioned list. Ron Garvin should already be in the database (under Ronnie Garvin, I believe) and I also think Jimmy Garvin is; if Jimmy isn't already added, he will be added in the next release because he's already in my database but I do recall adding him a lot earlier than the last couple of weeks.

You're welcome and thank you for your kind words.

Well I just finished year 2, and if finishing 1 year was the furthest I've played a single game that should tell you a lot about how much I'm enjoying this one. I finished the year off with Dusty Rhodes defending against Harley Race, resulting in a good enough match, mostly because I had failed to get Harley over enough in the Tri-State. The show stealing match was Andre the Giant beating Nick Bockwinkel. Nick's loss to the giant and to Dusty earlier in the year is going to result in him bringing in Bobby Heenan as a manager and teaming up with the Blonde Bombers to form a Heenan Family.

As for the top 500, here's the top 10

1. Nick Bockwinkel (1)

2. Dusty Rhodes (5)

3. Ray Stevens (11)

4. Buddy Colt (Ron Reed) (28)

5. Harley Race (2)

6. Andre Roussimoff (The Giant) (24)

7. Bill Watts (16)

8. Jack Brisco (9)

9. Gene LeBell (35)

10. Terry Funk (12)

Nick Bockwinkel won Wrestler of the Year

Carlos Colon won Young Wrestler of the Year

I keep playing new games for about 1 year.

What I think a problem is, CWF take too many written deals as soon as they become cult company.

Normally CWF hit cult level at march 1970, and they will start to hunt a lot of future maineventers for their expanded roster. It always includes Harley race, Maddog Vachon, Wahoo Mcdaniel, and sometimes Nick bockwinkel too.

That means, if someone plays a company other than WWWF or CWF, actually there is no chance he can hire those wrestlers, or see them work for companies other than CWF.

I dont know why but eventhough WWWF is cult level from the begining, they dont 'collect' wrestlers by written contract like CWF does. But those CWF guys..they are so greedy and actually collapse the good of territory days as soon as game begins. Maybe those wrestlers should be able to show themselves more at other territories.

In my current game(BTW detroit), they took away 3 of my maineventers. I dont know well but wasnt there working agreement rule in NWA? I think if they want to do something like that, they should get out of the allaiance first.

I am not sure if this will work but you if your playing with Fog of War you can just lower the scouting levels of some of those "Future Maineventers" and it will force CWF to take more "chances." I think that could fix the issue but I have never looked at the mod and would not be a good resource on this time era.

Looks good, I have been playing the 1983 mod exclusively, but I am gonna have a go on this later on today.. Keep up the good work :)

Thank you, please let me know what you think once you've given it a chance. :)

Wow, I guess that's probably some of the best praise a player can give a mod maker; the fact you want to play it so much and get so far is huge praise indeed. As it did last time you gave an update on your save, you sound like you have one hell of a game going on. I'm surprised about the lack of Mexican name in your top 10 but I'm happy to see Buddy Colt taking a massive jump that year, he's always been a little underrated in my opinion.

Unfortunately, there is nothing under the "Alliance" tag that prevents one member of the aforementioned alliance signing someone to a written contract from another member of the alliance. The only way to simulate this would be to add a "Non-Aggression Pact" between each and every member of the alliance; it won't stop one company signing someone from another company on a pay-per-appearance deal but it will stop them from signing someone on a written deal. Do people think this would be better? There are two possible problems with that; 1.) companies outside of the NWA will probably have an upper-hand if they were to start signing people to written contracts and 2.) even if a company leaves the alliance, the "Company Relationship" will remain (although that is easily removable too, obviously).

http://www.sff.net/people/doylemacdonald/redline.gif

I wasn't planning to give another update until "Version 2.0" was ready for release but while I'm here, I might as well give you another update; we are achingly close. I've got about 27 more names on my list (which isn't a lot when you consider that when I started just before Christmas I had more like 100) and the "Workers" are up to 1,076 now. I've done a lot of work on the picture pack too and you'll also find a couple of surprises here and there. So yeah, everything that I had planned for "Version 2.0" has been done except the workers (and now maybe the excess "Company Relationships" that I mention above if it's something people would prefer) so as I say, we're achingly close to completion. I'm reluctant to give you a definitive time of release but I'm confident it'll be out before the end of January. :)

That's something either the Mammoth is going to have to decide, or each player can decide. The issue is that the Alliance feature in the game is useless. It's only usefulness is to keep people from running shows "out-of-area". It hamstrings the human player if they want to do more than run a regional company.

Basically, every NWA company should have a working agreement with each other. That will keep those feds from stealing workers from each other. THE ALLIANCE WON'T STOP THIS!!! However, as Mammoth mentioned, the AWA and any other non-NWA company will immediately have a huge leg up long-term. Really, all a player would have to do is end those working agreements in their game. You won't get booted out of the NWA for that either. Did I mention the Alliance feature sucks? Oh, and your biggest star could get "shared" right before your main show too. So, Mammoth, if you decide to put a change in, just treat it like it was a 2010 mod and do working agreements. That's all you need to stop Written deals.

Well, I think it would be a better simulator of the time because a promotion would be tossed out of the NWA for signing someone to en exclusive contract behind the back of one of their "partners". However, because it really is something that the player may wish to change, I'll include them as one of those things which are added but with a "*" at the start of the record name so if people would rather not have it, they can easily mass delete them. Thank you for reminding me it's working agreements too, I don't know what made me automatically think non-aggression pact.

EDIT: Thank God (Adam) for the mass delete function, because there are now 218 company relationships. xD

All 10 are under contract with me, I've ran some really good cards, my popularity in Tri State is almost 85. El Solitario will probably be in the top 20 before long, as he's my top Mexican wrestler.

Ah, that'll explain it. I sure hope El Solitario shines as he's one of only two (maybe three) workers who have set potential. :p

Oh, I agree that it would fit historically. The thing is that the only way for a fed to get thrown out of an Alliance by the AI is to hit National. Literally, nothing else will cause it. In my 83 game, WCCW was robbing the CWA blind because they had Working Agreements with pretty much everyone else, but I couldn't get them thrown out of the NWA.

Honestly, it will never affect my games because I'm pretty much set on running the AWA, but I wanted to let people know because that Alliance feature just doesn't do what it should. I've never known of a need to cap Regional feds because they just don't grow on their own without pre-set TV deals to get them to Cult, where they stop growing, and the Loan feature was better when it was simply Working Agreement. In fact, it is loads better as the AI steals your wrestlers with the Loan feature.

This mod is so special because it is about territory era. In this mod every companies has its own maineventers and own identity. But this good old day has to over someday and in fact, being attacked by cult companies is most fun part of playing a regional comany. What I think is only problem is,

1. It happens too early

As I wrote above, rush of written contrats begins in 3 months. Many of superstars like Dory Funk jr, Verne Gargne, The Sheik, Fritz von eric will not be effected since their priority is always their own companies(I think this is the best part of this mod!), but we cannot expect younger wrestlers like Harley Race or Ric flair do what they did in real, because territory days over too soon in the mod and they will definately work for only one company.

2. It is always CWF and CSW

If it is WWWF or AWA who does this, I think it is somewhat fair. But it is always CWF and then CSW, which is both member of NWA.

As Mammoth mentioned, working agreement is limited solution for this, mainly because it wont last long. AWA and WWA has working agreement from begining, but when I played WWA, AWA quit that agreement in a year.

Theoretically, make all wrestlers a freelancer will solve the problem, but that will take away the merit of being cult level and will prevent 'wind of change' happening. My suggestion is adjust popularity of companies a little lower so they can hit cult level slower than now, and give players some more time to enjoy territory days. Anyway, Mammoth is a briliant mod maker and I believe he will make things right.

Firstly, thank you for the compliment. Unfortunately, as much as there's very little I can do to stop it at all there's literally nothing I can do to simply ensure it happens later; it's not like it's something I've added to happen at a certain time. It would be neat if there was an option to set "Written Contracts/Exclusive Contracts Off" and then be able to turn them on at a certain date or something.

Due to the sheer amounts of relationships with other NWA companies, the "Working Agreements" should stop companies from going too crazy and as I can't foresee them getting rid of all their relationships too soon, it should keep them from signing too many people to written contracts for a while. I'm certainly against setting people to "Freelancer" because I've seen it done before in moderations and in my opinion, it just makes for a messy moderation. I'm also reluctant to lower promotion popularity because 1.) I'm really happy with where the settings are now and 2.) to stop a promotion growing to cult in the time you're thinking of, it would have to be a real heavy decrease; dropping them 5-10% won't make much of a difference at all. I haven't done any real testing since adding the company relationships but I'm confident it'll solve a lot of the issues or it'll certainly slow it down.

At the end of the day, without being able to turn the function of "Written Contracts/Exclusive Contracts" off (like I mentioned earlier) it's going to happen at some point and there isn't much else I can to do to combat this.

My game has started quite promisingly. I also added all the workers from the 1983 mod into the database, so I won't run out of workers. I had a couple of duplicates I had to kill off but so far I am up to December and it's working well.

I have started off my own company as Sylvester Stallone, and so far I have some pretty useful wrestlers.

My main feuds so far have been Stallone vs Johnny Powers, The Fabulous Fargos vs KKK and now Ivan Koloff v Stallone and Johnny Powers vs George Steele.

CWF have signed a few workers to written deals, but due to my working agreement with them none of mine :) I am enjoying it so much I popped my laptop charger, so am unable to play this game until I acquire another one. I would have loved some narratives in it, and all my workers are always fatigued, apart from that I am enjoying it.

Great work.
