Small Questions Thread & "Living FAQ"

Recommended Posts

If I hire a worker who works for other companies on a pay-per-appearance contract that specifies a one-time appearance (so like a one-time deal for people who aren't completely unemployed), will you be able to rehire them again immediately after that (as in less than six months)?

Yeah, short term contracts are exempt from that. Forgot to mention.

I'm gaining popularity only in the region where the show is held in despite it being on tv. Is it a bug or am I missing something? My company is APW with pop of 40 in my home region and 3 in rest of Australia. The broadcaster is bloke channel with a very small coverage all over Australia.

I think the reason is the small coverage. I think in the player's handbook, it states that the region the show is held in is considered as having "medium" coverage, which would explain why you only gain popularity there.

There are 2 Questions about the Road Agent notes, banging in my head, because i completely suck in this Category:

1. I know "Script" and "Call im Ring" are based on Psychologie, but when should i use which? Is there a border or something in which i should definately use one of them or what?

Not sure it still applies to TEW 2016, but in 2013, workers under 61 psychology always got the road agent pop-up that they can't call matches in the ring. So, if you have any worker involved in the match with less than 61, the match should not be called in the ring.

The way I do it is this: If all the wrestlers involved in the match have a higher psychology stat than the rating I expect for that match, I have them call it in the ring. If all their psychology stats are lower than the expected match rating, I make them work with a script. Any other scenario, I'll choose neither call in ring nor a script.

I vaguely remember a post by Adam, Derek or someone else of that calibre that was similar to my approach, which is the reason why I've been doing it that way.

Does anyone have any strategies for beating established companies in national battles? They have all of the star power and tend to beat me pretty handily in each round and knock me back down to Cult.

I am the only National Company in Canada & USA. I beat SWF, TCW, USPW by stealing as many Main Eventers with 90+ SQ that I could. I also built up my own workers that had high SQ because some guys (Like Rocky Golden) considered me 'too small' when their contracts came up. Kirk Jameson and Gargantuan are good guys to build up. Also keep an eye on the SQ of everyone, for example Davis Wayne Newton jumped from 86 SQ to 96 SQ in my game, so I am going to try and push him up to the Main Event. KC Glenn has jumped from 93 SQ to 100 for me, so he's going to be a major player. (He would be Figurehead if his Charisma wasn't 'meh')

I have Champagne Lover, but he is in his late 30s, so his SQ will start going down when he hits time decline. But he's my Figurehead until such a time.

Everyone with high SQ becomes a hot commodity once you can lock people into Written deals, because popularity can be built up, SQ can't be built up, it raises naturally. I think one watcher game I had, Matty Faith hit the high 90s for SQ, so it's extremely important to periodically check people who are available to be hired with 'Excellent' SQ because someone's SQ might have jumped up MASSIVELY.

I just shortlist every worker in the world that has a Written deal, and check their stats when their contract comes up. El Leon has 94 SQ and 'A' Popularity in USA and Mexico, so it was a no brainer to steal him when his contract came up, because it deprives SOTBPW a major player in potential National Battles in Mexico. I am not quite National there yet, but when I hit it, I already have more drawing power than them in Mexico, lol.

I know there is a way to fix titles (so the AI won't create/retire belts). And I know only human players can have TV specials. But is there a way to have your child company set up like NXT - where they have TV and quarterly events?

It would be with USPW, so I would give them a TV show on Reverie but would like to have them only hold 4 events in addition to weekly TV shows.

Yeah i think you can go into the editor and change it so the belts are fixed.

Also you can go into your development company and give them set events. Have them weekly or annually.

<p>Promotions Opening</p><p> </p><p>

Is there a limit to how many Promotions can open in a Country? </p><p> </p><p>

I ask as the UK, let's say in 1997, would have All Star, NWA UK, Premier, WAW and BWF. As we move through 97 to 99 EWW and CSF open, yet K Star only open every so often and UWA haven't opened during two test phases.</p>

<p>Promotions can have a soft opening date which means they open as and when the game wants them to.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, if there is a specific owner needed to open it then it won't open on time if they are otherwise engaged (written contract, dead etc.).</p>

<p>I'll ask this again as it either got lost in the shuffle of this mad thread, or no one knows <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

What influences how a UC can change body type? Is it pure random chance, and how rare is it if so. If not, what attributes are considered?</p>

So I usually have a pretty light touch with my roster. A lot of positive personalities and no negative. I most often use slap on the wrist or the occasional no action or stern warning. The thing is my slider keeps heading over to Iron Fist regardless. I don't want to report this if its' not a bug but I'm a tad confused.

Which stats decide the rating of an "all out match"? And how to book a "steal the show" match?

I really wish Adam would make a post on match aims with all of this information but from my playing since the release this is what I have learned....

All out match can be anywhere on the card except as an opener. You need to have a hot match before hand, any match aim that doesn't cool the crowd or a good regular match. The stats you want to focus on for steal the show are higher stamina, and you don't want to book the match to be over 15 minutes unless the workers have over B+ stamina, focus on stamina when booking steal the show.

If I were you I wouldn't use "all out match" as steal the show or wild brawl take that note and add advantages.

When you book a wild brawl you want the guys to have high brawling stats, this is somewhere in the 71+ and up range.

Example how to use steal the show...

Opener using Work the Crowd

Storytelling with a good storyline (add more head to the match) and good workers. Give your storytelling matches some time, I've had better ratings doing that.

Hot Angle

Steal the Show with great workers.

Calm The Crowd - Do a squash or a match that doesn't mean much. If you use high level workers or a high level storyline that's fine too. You may get a rating in the 70's or above but it will still calm the crowd from a successful steal the show match.

Now when talking about Spectacle or Epic, I am thinking you want the crowd to be basically dead. So use calm the crowd just before one of those match aims. However I am not 100% on this, sometimes the ratings are great and sometimes they are lackluster.

So can anyone tell the best match aim to use before Spectacle or Epic?

What factors go into whether your existing PPV broadcaster will give you a better timeslot. Is it strictly your buy rates with them or do popularity and size play a part independent of that?

I'm at Cult in the USA and I have a deal with a BIG PPV provider and can't seem to get a better slot than Late Night, my popularity is about 80 in every region but I'm capped at Cult, so I think it has to do with promotion size and popularity.
