Welcome! It's been a while since I last got stuck into a diary but I'm really enjoying this USPW game so I'm giving this a shot. I've always loved the idea of having a real long running diary and have had some last an ok (at best) length but nothing compared to some others on the board. (shout out to Lloyd and Michgcs in particular, pretty sure Michgcs' is longer than the Bible now). So it's often made me plan out a diary for a long long time before I start it to try and avoid it being super short but I'm avoiding putting that pressure on myself now and I'm just rolling with this one. That said, I already have the first 10+ shows written and I'm excited about the upcoming PPV's I'm writting so I feel good about USPW!

 

This is going to be a bit like a written let’s play. So whilst I’m going to have storylines and try to keep the actual shows interesting, a big part of it will be me explaining my decisions and how I play the game. USPW is a company I don’t have much experience with so I think it might be an interesting one for me to play as. I've only really known USPW through 20LEgend diaries but I've learnt more recently from reading some of Angel's and Skinfan's stuff which I'd definitely recommend

 

I think most people reading this will know the state of the C-Verse but to sum it up, USPW have recently been bought by billionaire Allen Packer who is also the owner of Reverie (sort of a C-verse Netflix). With this money they have finally made a big push for number 1 promotion, a key factor in this being Black Wednesday where they poached some big names from SWF most notably current World Champ Steve Frehley.

 

They are a super traditional company that keeps things simple. They love big guys and the age old battle of good vs evil. This is something I definitely want to keep. TCW has good wrestlers, SWF has more gritty, risque characters, USPW is good old fashioned family fun and it’s going to stick to it’s strengths.

 

A main part of the diary will be my goals. So I will sort of set myself owner goals and I think in time get you guys to vote on these.

 

Main Long Terms Goals

 

Become the undisputed number 1 company in the world.

This is a pretty obvious one, technically USPW do start as number 1 but they are bottom of national battle and in some games I’ve played they end up doing quite bad. Especially with our massive reverie deal though I’m feeling pretty confident that in time I can do this. Although I’ve never properly played with a sports entertainment company for too long so I might be overestimating my TEW skills.

 

Have the most charismatic workers.

This sort of ties in with 1 but I know I’m never going to have the best in ring workers. I don’t even want them. I suppose this goal is more ‘don’t sign workers just because they are good in ring’. Sticking true to USPW I want larger than life characters who can talk on the mic, not just any good wrestler.

Find the next figurehead

For those who don’t know, USPW is currently headed by Nicky Champion, and has been for some time. He is still only 32 and isn’t going anywhere soon, but even just to give me the option of turning him heel, I want to start grooming the next big face. Might take years before he is replaced in game but it’s something I want to start planning for.

Lone Star Wrestling

I’m creating a developmental territory based in Texas, my dream is it to become almost NXT-esque. It’s perfect because on one hand I need to start signing some young prospects as USPW definitely needs them, but I also don’t want to suddenly flood the roster or get rid of the old guard who still have plenty left in the tank. LSW lets me sign a bunch of young workers but only let them debut slowly and whenever there is space for them. This will hopefully lead to LSW having an awesome roster for something it’s size and gaining popularity fast.

 

 

Short Term Goals

Create some new tag teams

Pretty self-explanatory, USPW needs them.

 

Think of some characters for the lower card.

I’ve always been able to picture what Steve Frehley or Tyson Baine would be like, but I want to get a clear vision of even some of the lower people on the roster.

 

Stay competitive in the war.

At the start USPW is losing the national battle, I need to quickly make some changes and boost my ratings.

 

 

P.S I've scoured the site for a lot of new renders, belts, logos etc and they are all part of my game now. I no longer know who made what. But thanks to anyone who's work I'm using! Off the top off my head I remember Clarity made a new USPW logo that I'll be using.

<p>My plan is to do predictions, and have some sort of booking prize. But I want to post the first month of shows very quickly. Mostly just because I think people have read the first month of USPW a few times now so I want to quickly get past that and start getting to some new storylines. </p><p> </p><p>

<p>Just started a USPW game myself on Friday, so I am looking forward to reading this. Interested to see how the Lets Play style comes across. With LSW, I will be really intrigued to see how the roster develops. As you say with it being NXT like, it will be interesting to see who gets over in the home region and how that might be useful as a barometer (along with match quality) of who needs to be called up. Hopefully you can keep us updated on any important happenings from down there, and we can follow along certain rough diamonds journeys from obsurity, to the biggest company in the world. Will you be adding a weekly event for LSW, or just leaving them to their own devices? </p><p> </p><p>

<p>Disclaimer: I've gotten a bunch of shows written before starting this thread, and for the first two shows I did them a bit differently. I sort of tried to write it more like a script but it wasn't working as well as I've seen it done here before so it was after week two that I decided to write more about my booking decisions and how I was playing the game. But the way I do these shows using screenshots means it was pretty much impossible to re-do them. Second disclaimer is it the screenshot method makes it hard to edit, so even if I notice a spelling error or a mistake I often can't go back and change it. </p><p> </p><p>

One key example of this, is in the build up to the first PPV, I often call it Red, White & Blue. Not knowing that the January USPW PPV is Stars, Stripes And Slams! Proves that I wasn't joking when I said I haven't played as USPW before but hey I blame them for having 12 pretty identical PPV names. I get it, USPW is patriotic, but 'Apple Pie And Wrestling!' and a few others HAVE to go. </p><p> </p><p>

So this is episode 1 of The Next Big Thing! I wouldn't expect too many big matches like Justice v Baine, I just liked the idea of having a classic USPW match kickstart a new show. I'm going to keep the posts of the B show small like this. You will rarely miss anything too important if you don't read them. But they will have their storylines that sometimes spill onto the A show. People will often debut on here before they work their way up to the A show. </p><p> </p><p>

This is in many ways an episode that sums up what I want THNB to be. Pretty much no big stars on it, and a lot of time given to promos, especially to people that wouldn’t be allowed promo time on American Wrestling. </p><p> </p><p>

The developmental is full of really good talent but I want this show to be about finding some more unlikely stars. It might be a reflection of how I feel NXT should be in that it brings in all these big indie names, which is great, but it’s often the more homegrown talent like Breeze/Corbin/Revival that I actually get behind. One person I didn’t really think about until this show is Dusty Ducont. He isn’t anything special but he has excellent chemistry with Elizabeth and I like the idea of her being a Daddy's girl who demands too much from Dusty. So even though he is a heel and uses heel tactics, he can be a sympathetic figure who just has a super demanding girlfriend that he wants to please. </p><p> </p><p>

Some bad news though is that Trent Shafter suffered a minor concussion that will keep him out for the next PPV. He also can’t do angles so I currently have no idea what’s going to happen with his feud with Rick Law. (I wrote these notes down at the time of booking the show, I would say the injury turned out to be a good thing for Trent but more on that to come!)</p><p> </p><p>

Show 3 will be up tomorrow, but in the meanwhile HERE IS A SURVEY about some future decisions. I was going to give these out as prediction prizes but I think I can think of some other stuff for those and get a bigger range of opinions on these things.

 

The roster write up and the 3rd PPV has been written. Plan is to keep posting a show a day until I get about 2 months in. That way we can blitz through the starting storylines and get to some new stuff. Then I'll probably slow it down an aim for one or two a week.

Some positive notes was developmental women Alina America has excellent chemistry teaming with Missy so they could be a future team. The dusty storyline will be a slow burner but will get some time whenever it can.
