I am new here. I only discovered TEW a few weeks ago. Been losing a lot of sleep playing it.

I play the 1987 mod since I love pro wrestling from Mania 1 to about the early 2000's. My main goal is to learn it back to front and teach it too my 11 year old autistic son. He is obsessed with pro wrestling and I think this is a great game for him to hyper-focus on that may have more positive benefits than WWE2k (add year).

One request (not sure if its doable) is for merchandise. I'd love to have units involved in the custom section. For example "Units sold per month" "Units produced a month". As the units sold vary you can change production. As sales slow for a worker maybe click a sale option. If sales dry up have a donate to charity button, you take a hit but might increase popularity in the process.

I know its far away from the core of the game, but like I said I'm only just learning.

Cheers

I've always wanted to see the financial system in TEW get a MAJOR overhaul. I'm truly hoping this is one of the big changes Adam talks about when he says he re-wrote the code to be able to add more features.

Great news! My wish list includes :

1) Full screen mode

2) Tournaments--round robin "G1" style, as well as regular bracket style for singles, tags, and trios.

3) STEAM availability.

4) A built in DOTT or similar real world 80s-ish mod

5) a blood option--specify who bleeds, to what degree, or ban blood entirely.

I'll be buying this as soon as it's released. I've played every version of TEW and it just keeps getting better.

Looking forward to seeing changes in the popularity mechanics. In 2016, it was too much of a "sure thing." I can book a certain way and guarantee that over time, that worker will hit their cap. Same with growing the company. Growth is pretty much consistent with very few things that will affect it.

I'm playing a 2005 game and realized there's really no mechanic that can really replicate USPW's rise, and having slow-build be the only way to build up popularity causes a lot of stagnation (tons of companies end up at Regional and stay there forever)

I also have my national battles mapped out 3 years before I even hit National. I mean, realistically, if you're a medium sized company taking on the giant monopoly, you'd need to plan out that far ahead of time for a strategy to take your competition down, but it's too much of a sure thing. I know how high my top talent's popularity is. They have high pop in one region so I know where their cap is, I just need to take the next 3 years to build their popularity across the nation and it's pretty much guaranteed I'll be able to do it short of a career ending injury

That being said, would it be possible to convert not only databases but saves as well?

I doubt it since the databases themselves need to be heavily tweaked and modified to really be compatible with the new game and its new features.

There's no way the game could be intelligent enough to do that work.

Geez Adam, I had life stuff planned for the next couple years <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

A built in DOTT or similar real world 80s-ish mod

That would be illegal though.

Kinda like referees, honestly.

Don't you diss the zebra men damnit!

Awesome news. Normally I'd say, "I can't wait" only that I can wait because of all the work being put into TEW 2020. It sounds amazing already. Also, I'm still enjoying playing TEW 16 and that will keep me very happy until then. I'm still a very happy customer with TEW 16.

On another note, lets clone Adam so he and his clone can make more games for us <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />.

Seriously though, awesome news and thank you Adam.

I just started playing 2016 again a couple weeks ago using the effganic mod. It was really apparent how far the UI has come since EWD. I think that's the core right there... The little features and details are great but the game has got to be playable. Looking forward to what comes next.

On a personal note I'm hoping to see a change in how wrestler size is handled. Would like to be able to better simulate early pro wrestling and how Lucha have multiple weight categories (from Lightweight to Junior Heavy).

On the mod side, a better / easier way to generate large amounts of workerd to fill out a mod would be nice (especially refs, announcers, etc).

All in all great news! Looking forward to this!

That way, companies that want to have those different divisions can do so... and the Cruiserweight/Junior Heavyweight limits can be specific to promotions, as there are many who use different limits than others.

I have been thinking a lot recently about how respect could be a more important factor with regards to gameworld interaction. It could even be a big driving force.

One thing for the Child companies new feature (which is bloody amazing!) would be along the lines of the parent promotion giving more time informing when a worker is getting sent down/called up when possible depending on how high the user characters respect stat is.

I think Respect has the potential to be a brilliant game-changing stat.

Great start, given how it was by far the most requested, and how important NXT is to Pro Wrestling nowadays.

Just didn't exactly get if we as players will be able to give the heads-up to an AI controlled developmental that we want to call up someone in advance. I ask that because I myself hate to call up someone that is a champion at my developmental, because that completely kills the title histories, but on the other hand, I may end up having to wait for months or even almost a full year before I can call them up.

If the parent is AI controlled, they will always give the child a warning ahead of time if they are planning to call someone up, giving the user time to switch any titles, do a farewell match, etc. If the parent is human-controlled then it is entirely up to that player - they are free to do things without warning if they so wish.

It certainly seems like players have the option to warn their dev territory ahead of time that they're calling someone up - I would guess that it'll be options like immediate/a week/a month. It would be interesting if too many short notice callups might result in your dev booker getting upset and quitting.

I'm beyond ecstatic that I can play as a developmental company. I've always thought RIPW as a developmental would make for a fantastic playthrough (and diary). Now that I'll be able to do that just makes me excited. I think that's a great lead off announcement for TEW2020 -- and a great feature to have added.
