Similar to how proteges work. It is a damn shame that a rookie announcer with 58 announcing will hardly ever get better from what I have seen. </p><p> </p><p> I don't think I have seen an announcer get much better at all, really. Just a few points. It takes FOREVER too. Maybe I have been doing it wrong or have been unlucky. This also applies to colour commentators as well.</p>

When I ran POBYW (and I know other local feds have done it) we counted our own pins.<p> </p><p> Obviously it isn't realistic for anything bigger than local backyarders, but it would help save money for people doing the local to global challenges.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Pretty sure this can be replicated by having the workers be the refs. You may get occasional penalties if you use the same guy as a ref for the entire show (it treats them as "special guest referees") but you can still make this work at micro levels. Same way you can use wrestlers as road agents for matches instead of hiring a specific road agent.</p>

Just compare say Kent Walton on World of Sport to Nick Patrick on Deep South Wrestling.</p>

I hope the gimmicks system has a rework. As it is today, gimmicks make no practical difference. I can create any gimmick and book the worker the way I want and this does not have any punishment. I do not know, it just seems weird. I know that imagination is a point for people playing TEW, but making it affect the mechanics of the game would be interesting. I do not know exactly how this would be done, so this is not going to be a suggestion. It's more about having hope.

The Handbook is extremely detailed in TEW2020 and also has the added advantage that it will automatically jump to the correct section - so if you're in the Finance section and hit the Handbook icon, you'll not only open the Handbook window but also immediately be looking at the section related to finances."</p><p> </p><p> I hope this is a subtle hint that finances are being expanded. In its current state, it barely needed its own section in the handbook. Its extremely self explanatory. Would be nice if we get more companies that kick people out that dont work and aggressively look for other talents without it being too much on both sides.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Similarly, I wish there was a way that gimmicky alter egos would only be used by appropriate companies. It's weird to see NOTBPW poach people like The Crippler or Sara Marie York, and then suddenly the no-nonsense serious wrestling promotion has a lobster man and a wrestling secretary!</p>

Little quality of life improvements like this are what seperate top developers from good developers in my opinion. Doing this shows you are thinking about your consumer base and their ease of use experience at the forefront.

Not to mention that so much time is being taken to carry out a comprehensive restructure of the game. We can all name "leading" franchises that re-release every year with minimal changes.

I guess my big worry is, with the game finally being redesigned and ripped apart so to speak (and this is what myself and many have been calling on for years now isnt it?), will mods and databases still be able to be converted and carry over? That sounds like it would be a big achievement. To have that, plus the redesign

Adam has confirmed the converter being included earlier in the thread. :)

I'm presuming in that case the big overhaul tear down will be more visual and how the game is presented, and not in terms of how the game simulates and the general database. Which is good for me because the gameplay I dont feel needs a total tearing down, just some tweaking. Visually, I do think the interface needs to be torn down. It's not aesthetic or intuitive, even for someone who has played for so many years.</p>

If he's promising new features then there's bound go be in 2020. Event Live From and Event Held At would be two crackers, as would the return of Event Type for PPV's.</p>

This is great news. I’ve always been a purchaser of the games since 2008, but also recall getting some form of the EWR game. This year though I’ve gotten more immersed in the game than any of the previous years since I have more time on my hands. Anyway really looking forward to following the changes announced in the DJ and looking for to hopefully next year.

I love that you can play as a child promotion. This is going to make a huge difference for many people.

Also some of the things to better our lives as players from yesterdays update are great!

This is something I may have to discuss on my YouTube Channel too. Maybe I can get some other people out there interested in some TEW!!!

Thank you so much Adam! Been playing your games all the way back to your orange website in the late 90s I believe. You have provided many hours of entertainment.

I added this to the suggestion thread, but long story short, the ability to use The Network to track viewing habits and/or using tape libraries to release "Best Of...." DVDs to track which unsigned veteran fans are reacting to for possible nostalgia runs.

You want to bring in Jim Duggan for a 6 month run, you can release a Jim Duggan DVD and pick which matches to include to build up his popularity before bringing him in, so he has high momentum when he debuts.

Or, tracking Network viewing habits to see that fans seemingly are watching a ton of Rick Martel matches, so you could bring him in for a few appearances because you know your fans will react favorably to him, whereas fans really aren't watching any Paul Roma matches, so you know it's a bigger risk bringing him in.

I feel like this is unnecessary muddle or excessive, as if you control a network you don't really control your network as it is. Yes it would add depth and be cool, but isn't necessary. It would be nice to be able to have a mechanic for a network to say push a particular character. So someone in your company gains passive pop upto a certain limit based on your network size, but like "creating dvds" or "seeing viewership of everyone's network matches". Including those who have left, and management of tape libraries would be far more tedious than enjoyable.

But yeah a simple mechanic to push a particular wrestler on the network resulting in a slight Popilarity bump each month would be nice, and if you were a Booker or in a child company the AI doing it would be cool.
