TEW2020 CornellVerse Discussion Thread

The UK scene is a slight disapointment to me. Unless you want to jump in as the dominant 21CW the options are not too interesting. You have a ultra old school promotion with no angles and long matches or a hardcore promotion.

I created a promotion with a classic balanced product but it would have been nice to have something like this from the start.

I do like some of the new workers though, Dangermouth and Bryn Archer in particular look very fun to book.

Feel the same way about Canada. Just a few small companies to add some variety at the lower ends would be nice. You're either the top dogs or you're bland flips. Room to start your own promotion, I guess.

I had a quick look at the UK, but Wales didn't interest me. I'd love to run a game mirroring the Camp Show circuit in this country, but the talent is a bit limited in the C-Verse.

That's true, only three new female wrestlers based in Britain it seems.

Is that right? At work now but that's disappointing. I made a c-verse 2018 mod and one of the things I tried to do was move womens wrestling along, I sort of hopes the new game would help me with that, at the very very least I expected there to be some ground work in areas like that finally, and a womens lucha promotion, which I'm surprised isn't in the game.

At the very least having more women just gives more variety, you've excused all the american male technicians in previous saves? Well run a female promotion and look, same fun and whole new set of characters lol

I was hoping for a few more female wrestlers you could bring into the UK to run a women's division with. As it is, there are the 3 newcomers, propped up by a small group of of ageing workers (Geena Warrior Princess is 41, Viper McKenna 40, Zofia Jankovic 38). The previous carry Shiori Jippensha is now exclusively in Japan with a pair of cool new sunglasses and therefore no longer available. Would have been useful if one or two of the TEW2016 SNP cheeleader valets had been converted into in ring participants as the UK talent pool feels manager heavy to me.

The situation isn't really any different elsewhere either. For example, the USA game world splash screen mentions how women's wrestling is on the rise, but this isn't actually reflected in the game world, with AAA closing and nothing being put in place to replace it?

Another observation I have on this editions game world. There's basically everything you need to start a small promotion in India, except for a referee, which seems like a bit of an odd oversight???

<p>Here's a question: how many of you stick to the Cornellverse as presented? What type of changes do you make? For example:</p><p> </p><p>

Do you start a game completely without any edits?</p><p> </p><p>

Do you start with the same workers but edit gimmicks and dispositions to suit what you would do at the start?</p><p> </p><p>

Do you assign the workers to your fed if they would be day 1 signings anyway?</p><p> </p><p>

Do you make "trades"? </p><p> </p><p>

Do you use the Cverse as a starting point and edit away, putting a radically different spin on it?</p><p> </p><p>

Its incredible what Adam has done with it. </p><p> </p><p>

Just looking for thoughts on this.</p>

<p>So far I've only looked at the SWF. Its not the direction I would go if I was running it (I'd have more youth, athleticism and more of an edge) but that aside I love what Adam did. Rocky Golden signing was a masterstroke. Randy Unleashed and ZWB are great reinventions and I did see Guide & Scout are now two great new characters. </p><p> </p><p>

Haven't looked too much at the new free agent pool but Youngman & Callum are still there so that's good. Along with LBC.</p><p> </p><p>

Once I figure my way around the interface I'll dig in. Having the full game will help also.</p>

I have a whole folder with old and new c verse renders and usually re assign all the pictures one by one. The new game has some new pictures and a lot of old ones? Just seems a little lazy to not update everything 4 years later and when people are paying money for the game. It's not a huge deal for me personally, just hours of re assigning to do. I feel bad for people who are new and dont know</p>

<p>Hey everyone.</p><p> </p><p>

I've been a longtime EWR player and I dabbled around TEW05 and TEW13 with the real life mods.</p><p> </p><p>

With this trial version of TEW20 I really want to be able to give the C-Verse a real go but I'm completely lost when looking at the companies and rosters etc and I'm wondering if you guys can give me some help.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm guessing that TCW and SWF are almost clones of WCW and WWF/E respectively? These two seem to appeal to me at first glance as I am a massive fan of WCW/NWA back in the 80s/early 90s.</p><p> </p><p>

Can some of you point me in the direction of how I can get more info on these companies to get some background? Also.. is there any PPVs for these companies that mimmick real company events like Royal Rumble, Starrcade, Wrestlemania etc? </p><p> </p><p>

Thanks in advance <span class="ipsEmoji">😊</span></p>

<p>I love the premise and roster of CWA, but I do hope you can get Alex to unretire somehow. </p><p> </p><p>

I was really expecting him to be running his own small indy promotion, or somehow not take being forced out by his brothers by just running away to the farm. </p><p> </p><p>

Maybe that's coming in the next version of the cverse, or to be fair I haven't really tried to work him over to come out of retirement yet. Though I'm going to be attempting a CWA dynasty thread so that seems out given the history (I always try to do a dynasty, but then run out of steam/ feel like im boring people:() </p><p> </p><p>

I'm excited to try them out though. Really interesting roster, and it looks like you HAVE to find some babyfaces to push because I'd say that's their weakness out of the gate. Unless your going to just push Ricky and his brother to the moon (which still leaves you old there) all the young guys Fans consider stars are heels. </p><p> </p><p>

I was looking at it last night like "ok......who is going to be the good guys here, if it's not the Decolts?"</p><p> </p><p>

I'm really excited to book their women's division</p>

<p>Renders are a taste thing though.</p><p> </p><p>

There have been a number of occasions where I've had to go to the previous version and get one of the original renders to replace the <em>replacement.</em> This is doubly true for workers who do actually get re-renders and then a different one is subsequently used as an update</p><p> </p><p>

You literally can't please everyone with the renders: laziness doesn't even begin to come into it and it's super unfair to call the worker images lazy or half-arsed just because they haven't been updated. It's personal preference.</p>

Adam did a good job with those overviews of every region, and if you look at the company bios you can usually figure out what they are looking for.</p><p> </p><p> For me, it's CWA, because thier product now I would describe as "AEW without the hardcore allowed" which I'm fine with. They have great young heels, a long history to play off of with the older wrestlers (the bios help me on ideas there with the Cverse, They normally referance big events and who is who's kid ect) </p><p> </p><p> on the events, I would just create them. 100% CWA is getting some sort of money in the bank/ RR show from me, because i think their show roster after the merger is kinda barren (I think that might be on purpose)</p>
