I think an expansion pack or something similar that advanced the database a year or added new characters would be something that could add life to the game for those who need more. I also realize that's probably not as easy as it sounds to accomplish. If this is the last entry it is a hell of way to go out.</p>

*still hoping even if it's in vain*

A small imperfection of the great WMMA 5 is how it calculates the attendances for some shows. I run the Polish KSW and just had a show in Brazil (where he had Low Level National popularity), with the main event of Johnny Walker (High Level National in South America + fighting at home) vs. Ryan Bader (Mid Level National in South America) and a co-main event of Donald Cerrone (High Level Regional in South America) vs. Rafael Dos Anjos (High Level National in South America). You'd expect a decent crowd to be there, right? Well I got only 1 700-1 800 people, lower than the crowds I was drawing when I was High Level Regional in my own region, how does that make sense? :(

well, there are still a number of improvements I would like to see really (more like quality of life) - like directly controlling a child company, changing venue after booking the fights (but before ending current day), being able to see fighters' ranking outside of top 25 and sort by that ranking, assign fighters to gyms...there's a lot of improvements to be had if given opportunity. Not sure they warrant a new game though. Maybe a DLC?

Back after lots of thinking, with more likely unrealistic hopes!

- Introducing the option of having a back-up, like Chandler was for Khabib - Gaethje and Cannonier for Adesanya - Romero. Also, a back-up or even two for 1 night tournaments would be great. When you build a card around a tournament and you have to scrap the whole thing because of 1 poorly timed injury, it really sucks.

- Contracts. I know they seem to be really tricky IRL, but guys like McGregor are likely never getting close to those real life pay-days in the game.

- Also, the fact that bleeding almost always occurs from strikes when on feet is pretty weird, since getting a bloody face from taking big shots when you're down is pretty common.

All in all, hats off to the Grey Dog team for giving us this gem of a game, I'm just posting the few things that I think could be improved with it, as when we like something, it's obvious that we'd like to have more :D

I second this!

Third. The other thing I'd like to see is rankings updated. There's a lot of times where a guy will lose a fight to another guy but either stay in the same position they were before the fight started or only move down a spot. I know it's not realistic to switch Number Eight with Number Two after one fight but it's also weird to see someone coming off a loss as number one contender.

I have tons of trilogies in my decade long GAMMA playthrough becuase of how stagnat the rankings are.

It's also weird when guys come in from say BCF or SIGMA on eight fight win streaks and shoot to the top of the rankings. They're obviously decent but BCF and SIGMA are nowhere near GAMMA's level in my playthrough. I've poached multiple champs from those two orgs that have lost three or more fights in GAMMA.

Can't say it's not realistic, tho. Eddie Alvarez, Michael Chandler, Will Brooks, Alexander Volkov, Jiri Prochazka all pretty much got thrown straight at the wolfs in the UFC, coming in as champions or ex champions from Bellator, RIZIN or M-1.

- Introducing the option of having a back-up

When you build a card around a tournament and you have to scrap the whole thing because of 1 poorly timed injury, it really sucks.

You can perfectly do this already? Just add a fighter vs TBD on the card, to be removed upon the weigh-ins, and you got yourself a replacement ready2go should something happen. Sure, if someone gets injured on the day of the tournament, that sucks (had it happen once...), but that's too bad then. You DO lose the tournament entirely but can easily remake it with the new guy (just screenshot the matchups and refill, only takes ten seconds). "Lack of time" blocks won't trigger as the fighters detect that they were on the card anyway. What I always do is have the alternate fight on the card, so that - when nothing happens - he still has a fight planned and isn't training for nothing. Any new "replacement" feature would add nothing that isn't already there: he's training like the booked fighters. He won't fight if unnecessary. He just won't be paid anything, but the extra match works around that.

@Updated database: I'm pretty sure Adam will never do that. Especially since any modder (or dedicated person as you don't need modding skills given how easy it is to use) can just make it. It won't be 'official' but who cares?

@DLC update: Would love that as mentioned previously, but I think Adam's stance on that is quite negative (given he's never made DLC before). Also, the nature of the licensing system doesn't exactly allow this. If anything, it'd have to be some sort of crowdfunding where he could release a free update after enough has been donated.

But as Adam has been true to his word for the last decade (barring perhaps some quotes upon TEW20's release, which is forgiven now :p), I doubt he'll entertain any of those ideas so no point in contemplating about it. If he says no more, it's no more...

I really can't believe I haven't ever thought of that despite the fact I've had to scrap 2 whole tournament cards because of things like this... Thanks for the tip :D

If I remember correctly, Adam Ryland mentioned that WMMA5 was likely going to be the last one out of this series.

Yeah, but that was probably just to get people to jump to 5, instead of sitting an iteration out. WMMA is one of his breadmakers, he will make another.

I really want him to do a boxing game though.

He literaly just stated (again) that there won't be a 6. When has he ever lied about these things? I don't think 'breadmaker' isn't exactly the right term. It was more of a passion project I think. And when you feel you've done it right... Just my take on the matter.

I guess the boxing game is one to look forward to, though coming from WMMA it might be a little lighter on features etc.
